so that makes it two versions of were? Well then we as vamps should have some form of hybrid. It's only fair. BUT KEEP IT IN A BWP. and try it out. Let's not go rash and have you create a werepanther whateverthefuckit'scalled and revamp the whole species outlook. If and when it ends.....Can I demolish the lot of them? heehee Sev, just no. Why should a vampire have a hybrid, when even Ellie herself admits, The werewolves SUCK compared to the vamps. Nothing the wolves have can compare to the vamps, so we could add say 3 different types of weres and we could still have the vamps being more powerful and everything else. Why make them even more of a pain to deal with for the Wolves?

I agree. No vampire hybrids. Vampires are pretty strong and already have an upper hand from werewolves. Im like Inora though, no hard feelings on it. Hell, I have three werewolf characters! But a hybrid would be unfair on the vampire side.
Werepanthers are just like werewolves. Its the same concept people. Just with a cat instead of a dog. Plus, as Eve said, it could be a neutral party. And it would add some variety. If we have werewolves....How are werecats so far fetched?

I have a lot to say so sorry for making this look RIDICULOUSLY ANNOYING to read
Q: Can a human/vampire/werewolf get pregnant by a vampire or werewolf? A: Vampires cannot make a human/vampire/werewolf pregnant. Their bodies are dead, so a female vampire can't have a baby develop in them. As for male's they can't fertilize eggs. Werewolves are living, so they can give birth or make a human pregnant, however the baby would not be a werewolf or have any powers of a werewolf. The thing is, as Ellie put it. Vampires are the living dead. They have no sperm or eggs to reproduce, so vampire hybrids couldn't work out period. The concept of Dhamphirs just doesn't work on CK.
And Ali said it just right. Werewolves and Werepanthers are the same basic concept. Humans->Animals. It's not like we are adding an element of magic or some force of chaos into the equation. And if we do decide to have werepanthers, we can explain their sudden existance into the world as a DNA mutation from Werewolves. This way we can go with the idea that they are outcasts in the Werewolf world, and still have a dislike for the Vampires, making them a neutral party. Or we can do something completely different. I really don't know... But I personally like the idea about Werepanthers.
so that makes it two versions of were? And that is also true. I don't mind the weaknesses, but having a third species might just make things a little interesting.
Panthers are completely mortal and NO different from werewolves except by what they shift into. Same strengths, same weaknesses. I don't like that idea. I think they should be above humans but below werewolves, or maybe be the reverse of werewolves, or something. What would be the point of having a werepanther if it was just human, but with the ability to shift... It doesn't seem... appealing... By reverse I mean if Werewolves are stronger than they are fast, then Panthers should be faster than they are strong. Just a thought...
I'm sorry, I'm not saying that we have to have witches or anything, but why are they any more of a stretch than vampires and werewolves? There are people out there who really and truly believe that they are witches. At the very least there are people out there that practice wicca, so how are vampires and werewolves more believable than witches? I just really want to know the answer to that. This isn't like saying 'give me witches dammit' or any such thing it's just confusing to me. Another thing I wouldn't mind is maybe the idea of witches or wiccans, and I see how some people may not, but I am casting a vote for it.

oohhhh....interesting. It's not really a surprise for any of you, but I'm in love with the concept of Werepanthers. I love the Anita Blake series and my favorite character is a werepanther. I think it would be an amazing addition, but it I agree that it would need to be something that was held in moderation. I'm down for this! full force!

I'm not too fond of the idea. It's not that I'm against a new species, it's just I don't like this one. It's just that we already have shape-shifters on here (werewolves), and adding a variation of the same species is just a tad... unoriginal. By all means, go and make new species, just not... werepanthers... that doesn't even sound classy.
I wouldn't think badly of you guys if you decide to keep them, 'cuz it's not a bad idea, I'm just saying I wouldn't want to make one. :/

WOO THREE PAGES OF THIS!
mkay, time to make comments again.
Ellie said: yeah but werewolves and vampires *go* together ANYWAY. so it's DIFFERENT.
Werepanthers aren't new. Apparently there's a whole series about them. I need to read ^^
Sev said: so that makes it two versions of were? Well then we as vamps should have some form of hybrid. It's only fair.
BUT KEEP IT IN A BWP. and try it out. Let's not go rash and have you create a werepanther whateverthefuckit'scalled and revamp the whole species outlook.
Definitely no hybrids. Werewolves are much weaker than vampires, which is partially my fault for going into werewolves with a biased attitude. Ah, the truth comes out at last. ALL of you wonder why I made them so weak (VAMPS FTW). Werepanthers are another type of were. Not stronger, not weaker. A HYBRID is a vamp/were. Another form of vampire is out of the question.
All of you have had concerns about what adding a new species would do to the boards. My answer is absolutly nothing. Werepanthers will be created by request only, and the number of them will be controlled. There won't be a special application section for them, they'll be filed under werewolves. This way, when new members wander along here, they don't see, like Ellie has been saying, "A vampire, werewolf, and werepanther RPG". It's not a werepanther RPG. Werepanthers are beneath vamps and wolves. They don't get their own spot.
Vic said: I don't like that idea. I think they should be above humans but below werewolves, or maybe be the reverse of werewolves, or something. I think this was a well thought out idea. Cats are weaker than dogs, but faster. Dogs are stronger than cats, but cats can outrun them. It should be no different with werewolves or werepanthers. But remember, an animals biological makeup is its own advantage and weakness. There are some things cats can't do that dogs can do, and vice versa. There shouldn't be a rule that says, "cats are weaker than dogs, but are faster". That's common sense. A werepanther is a cat. Cats are NOT dogs. Members should be aware of this when posting as a werepanther. It's common sense for a cat to be faster than a dog. So to answer your question Vic, yes, a panther would be faster than a wolf, but not stronger. Panthers are so much faster than wolves. But this doesn't have to be a written, law, it's common sense.
WICCANS since we keep getting on this, and I want to satisfy everyone with an answer. YES you can make a wiccan. I know wiccans, they're great people. HOWEVER a witch like, a Harry Potter witch. Definitely not.
I'm really liking everyone's take on this idea! Keep em coming!

Werepanthers? Alright. xD I'm game. It would be awesome to make a new species, maybe even play up on some character's personalities. Maybe we can add a mutated version of a Vampire? I'm not exactly sure how it would work, but it would maybe be more human than a normal vamp? I don't know. =P Feel free to shoot this down, folks.

If there are humans who are able to turn into wolves (which is really all that a werewolf is), why is the idea of a human that can turn into a panther so out there? Granted, panthers are not exactly common animals all around the world, but really all Fang and Cas are saying is that maybe wolves aren't the only animals that shape-shifters can turn into .. because that's all a werewolf is described like on this site anyways .. a human that can turn into an animal.
A shape-shifter.
Now now, kiddies. I was not suggesting that we should just have all different types of shape shifters and run around with a whole zoo on this site, but adding a cat to go with the dog isn't such a bad idea. Yeah, vampires and werewolves have been fighting since day one. They're jealous that we're immortal and beautiful, and we hate their smell.
I may be sounding like a broken record on this, but adding a neutral party to the board would make it interesting. Would the cats pick a side with the werewolves or the vampires .. or would they form their own side and be against both creatures. More chances for more fights, disgusting bi-species relationships, and friendships to form.
-takes out a ball of yarn- Plus, watching a big kitty chase this thing all day and get tangled up would be a pretty damn fun show.

Sure it would be a damn fun show, I think. As long as these cat things stay out of the way, I'm kind of okay about it. But otherwise, FUCK NO.
Vampires/werewolves/werepanthers...it's just too much.
And whats the difference between a werewolf and a werepanther? Just that they're Kittens & Mutts?
So Kittens would be at the bottom of the food chain... who would even want to play them then?
It would just turn this RP into something more sci-fi, and that sucks. So no.
Down with the cats.
Agreeing with Ellie all the way.

Well, I'm glad you like the idea Fang about the reverse rolls, and I do agree that one should keep this in mind when posting...
But when I said my idea about Wiccans, I meant maybe have another request (again under control and everything like the werepanthers) who have that one unique and special thing about them that makes them just a TAD bit higher than the other humans. I don't mean super inteligence... I mean like maybe psychics or benders...
Again, I see how some people may not like the idea, but I am casting a vote for it. I don't know... Maybe it is too much, but I would like to see it...
If the final verdict about this is no, I'm okay... It was a good run ^_^

Im open really for anything. I agree, I'm open for anything as well. If this whole werepanther doesn't work out in the end, then hey, at least you gave the idea the "good ol' college try"....it's better than not trying it at all. But that's just my opinion.
