Hello Members!
Most of you might have noticed a certain werepanther member by now. Everything will be explained in this thread, so no more questions is necessary.
A while back, Casimir asked me if I ever considered adding another were species to CK. I told him I'd consider it, let him know, and that was that. I was reluctant to make a vampire and werewolf RP a vampire, werewolf, and werepanther RP.
Just like everyone here, I don't like change.
Yesterday Cas and I were talking about it, and he developed new ideas about a new were species. After much deliberation, I resolved to allow Cas to do a test run with a werepanther character under strict staff supervision. Felnic Winter was born, and we started planning how we'd introduce werepanthers.
I wanted a way to show my members how a new species shouldn't be shunned on principle. I went into the small project expecting some open mindedness. What I got in return was many "ehhhs".
To warm you up to the idea, Cas and I did a thread together with his werepanther, Felnic, and my vampire, Giselle. The purpose of this thread is to show how a vampire might react to this strange new species, and the thoughts of a werepanther when confronted with a biased opinion about something as silly as how he smells strange. I encourage EVERYONE to read this short, 5 post thread found HERE. It'll really get you the feel for werepanthers. Maybe after you see our example thread, you'll want to write with a werepanther, too.
Just putting a little disclaimer out here: Cas and I don't expect 20 werepanthers springing up by Friday. Our intention is not to let the species rule the boards. The idea is that werepanthers are very rare, and they keep to themselves. If the idea does take, no more than four werepanthers will be allowed. It's not like werepanthers are going to be plastered all over the boards.
Another idea I had, if you guys are so against change, is we could make this like a Board Wide Plot. Yeah, don't remind me about the last one. I swore I'd never do another one again. But if we like the idea of werepanthers, but don't want this to be a permanent thing, we can make a werepanther plot off the records of the actual boards. What I mean to say is, once this werepanther plot is over and done with, there will be no record, no memory of werepanthers ever having existed. Give that a thought.
So you're probably wondering now, "Well gee Fang, you're talking a whole lot about werepanthers, what the chuck are these things anyway?"
Werepanthers are JUST like werewolves. If you read the werewolf abilities and how werewolves work around here, then realize werepanther is pretty much interchangeable for werewolf, except that they are cats, not dogs. Werepanthers ARE werewolves. But they just shape-shift into panthers.
I really really want all of you to read Felnic Winter's application if you haven't already, find it HERE
So now what do you think about werepanthers? I want YOUR feedback. I mean EVERYONES. CK is a democracy, I don't rule with an iron fist. YOU decide if you want werepanthers or not.
Okay, so we don't feel like we have to make Fang happy, I want you to respond to this thread with your honest, unbiased opinion on werepanthers. You can do this as a guest, so it's completly anonymous. I'd love to hear what you think and if you have further plot ideas involving werepanthers.
I look forward to your opinion!
