OOC: Ok. This is the meeting thread. There's going to be no set posting order, but I think that unless you have something to interject, don't post, just to keep things from getting too cluttered. Feel free to jump in if you have something to say, though. Let's try not to make this too confusing. If you're having a 'side conversation' please indicate it as such; that way, people not involved in said conversation can ignore those posts when they're replying.
ALL PACK MEMBERS: regardless of wether or not you post in the beginning, you need to be reading this. At one point EVERYONE will have to make a post; Patrick will call for people's answer. So don't just blow off this thread.
Patrick silently brooded. Ella was still in his lap; after she'd made all the calls she could, he'd silently pulled her back against him and just held her, staring at the wall. Everything was breaking down. Everything was falling apart. The bonds that had held them were fragile; he prayed that they could last through the tests that were ahead.
He cocked his head; footsteps, the smell of the pack. They were coming, obedient to the call of their leaders, hesitant, unsure. They must have heard something. He wondered, bitterly, if James would appear sooner or later. He didn't know, even now, if he was ready to face the boy.

Ella curled against Patrick. She grazed her cheek against his chest. He had pulled her back to him. Even with her anger brewing she couldn't help but feel a warm calm against him. They were going to fix this. She knew it. But what would be there cost? What would they lose in this fight.
Ella leaned up and cupped the side of Patrick's face. She sighed softly. "Give James a chance to say what he needs to say." She curled back against him and watched the door. She waited. Her heart beginning to hammer against her chest. They could move past this point. They had to.

He could see the pack house. The place where Patrick brought him that night on the streets, and the same place where he lied to and betrayed every member in it. Yes, he was sorry. No, he wouldn't change his mind about what he was going to do. He had to leave them after this. He had to choose between them or a vampire. James tragically chose the vampire.
But you hate vampires. You want to watch all of them burn he reminded himself.
Not this vampire. This vampire changed his life and the pack's. But now a war was being fought for him and he didn't know what to feel. He remained cold, allowing his wolf side to let him think nasty and backstabbing things. This is what he was, after all, a back stabbing wolf. A truly evil 18 year old kid. How could he possibly be anything else other than this?
He had an idea of what he was going to say. The walk from the apartment to here forced him to think. Everything depended on this meeting. It was vital. He already tossed the idea to just give himself in, let the vampires take him like they took his family and the previous pack. But then he thought of Patrick. He'd done too much for him already, Ella to, to just walk away from this mess he created and let them deal with it.
Taking the stairs as slow as he could, he dreaded what he had to tell the pack. Undoubtedly Evey already made a scene with her information from the park. He knew she would. It was all part of his terrible plan. Stony faced, James took one last breath and pushed the door open lightly.
Ella and Patrick were alone. He was the first one there. They both looked... awful. It sent hot pain up his gut. What had he done to them. No use blaming Tillie. He was the one who told her everything and then allowed her to go run off to Ella.
James didn't meet their eyes. He was just too furious with himself to do that. "Patrick... Ella..." he started. What else was he supposed to say at this... point? This point of no return.

Patrick stiffened. James...
The betrayer. The one who'd nearly broken the pack. Who had nearly broken him and Ella. Who had turned on Patrick, all that he'd promised and pretended to believe. He fought with himself a long moment, letting the silence stretch out uncomfortably. Why was he feeling so betrayed? James had been with him for such a short period of time...
He closed his eyes, hearing the soft growl that escaped him. He knew why. Because he'd identified with James. Because he'd seen himself in the boy, felt the boy's pain when they'd found his previous pack. Because he'd, in some small way, come to feel that James might have been, in other circumstances...
like a son.
He bit his lip savagely to stop further growls and remained silent, his body tense, the beast inside of him howling frantically at the gates that held it back. His control was fragile; he clung to it with all his strength.

Ella doubted that James even comprehended what she had almost done because of him. She closed her eyes and absently trailed her fingers down Patrick's neck. She wouldn't tell him to calm down. he deserved to be angry.
James should have went to him first. Instead he told an insecure young girl who got entirely too wrapped up in his story. Tillie loved them all too much sometimes. She was willing to do anything for anybody. James hadn't even been the one to tell her.
She nodded to James. Anything that she may have said could set Patrick off. He was already struggling to control himself. What she didn't like was the guilt that was painted all over his face. She was afraid to even think of how this was going to go. How many others knew? Who all had kept this secret for him?

Silence. It was unbearable. They waited for him to speak. He masked his expression completely, pure and utter hatred taking control of his eyes and his body. He looked Patrick eye to eye now. He let his wolf side come out, it urged him to say the words, whispered and purred them into his ear. He kept his control steady, but he wasn't too sure about Patrick's.
"I was so stupid to actually think I could fall in love with a vampire," he hissed. "She's nothing but a witch who does the Devil's handiwork. They were all right. It was a mistake and it broke the alliance. How could I be so... stupid to get roped into a relationship with a monster?! I hate vampires. They killed everyone I ever cared about," he spat, disgusted.

Patrick opened his eyes. James' voice washed over him; the hatred, the poison. Still. Something was off; something wasn't jarring for him. Something small, so small he couldn't put his finger on it, but something...
He could feel the pack gathering. He could hear their surprised whispers, their comments. He could smell the uncertainty. Some of them knew. Some were hearing this for the first time. No one was happy.
He locked his gaze with James, his eyes dark and cold. "I was wondering the same thing." he said finally. His voice, after James' low hiss, was utterly cold, distant. Implacable.
He gently but firmly pushed Ella off his lap. For this, he had to be standing. He had to gather his strength around him like a sheild, a cloak. He had to be the pack Alpha. When he was standing, he faced James squarely, crossing his arms over his chest. The beast had quieted; a focus was required.
"You stand before me after nearly breaking the pack." he said flatly, refusing to allow James to release his intense gaze. "You stand before me after betraying me and the pack that offered you a place, arms open, and accepted you. What do you want from me?"
He spared a glance around his packmembers, reading their faces, their body language. It was tense. "What do you want from us?"

Katra had snuck in shortly after James. She had caught the memo from Evelynn. She was curious as to how was James going to justify himself? This event had almost broken up the pack and did he plan this simple little break up and then confession to the pack was supposed to mend things? Nice try James. You blew it. But she would come and hear him out. If she didnt come she would hear an ass kicking from either Patrick or Ella.
She sunk down into a chair quietly and crossed her legs and tilted her head to the side. She could feel all the anger in the room. She was glad she wasnt in one of her moods today. The tension was enough to kill at the moment. And things were only going to get worse. Much worse.
But after Patrick addressed him she stood up and narrowed her eyes on James. She hoped Patrick wouldnt yell at her about stepping in. She folded her arms and snapped, "And how the hell do you think coming back with your tail between your legs will mend things? Also....why the SO SUDDEN urge to break it off with this leech? Hmm?"

Tillie had entered and refused to look at Ella or Patrick. She couldn't. She was a stupid little girl and she should have kept her mouth shut from the beginning. She had tried her best to hide herself against the wall near James. She didn't understand how he could have broken up with the vampire.
Tillie thought of the pain in Ella's voice when she had first called. Oh god. What had she helped James to do? She sat, pressed against the wall, her knees drawn to her chest. She peeked up from behind them. She felt so alone. So distant from everyone. Poor James. She crept closer to him. She wanted him to know that she was going to be supporting him.
She would back James up, she had helped him dig this grave. She would lie in it with him if she had too. They didn't know. hey didn't know how this tormented him so badly. She shot a mean look at Katra. She was one to talk. Maybe while she was spitting obscenities to James someone should mention her little interaction with her own vampire.
She wanted to jump up and scream back at her, but she didn't. She sat there and remained quiet. It was rare, but it did happen. Patricks harsh words, and Ella's cold face were enough to make her want to never speak again.

Evelynn stepped in the pack house. Her nose tingled with the smell of fury and betrayal. The intense atmosphere was so thick, she could have cut through it with a butter knife. Well this isn't going to be one of our better family reunions, she thought to herself. She could feel the anger and the raw animal instinct to unleash his wolf powers rolling off of Patrick. Ella looked straight up murderous. Oh god, James, what have you done, my brother? she asked him silently. She sidled up next to Katra, and perched her tiny body onto the chairs arm. She felt a slight satisfaction when James denounced his relationship with that beast, and smiled inwards. When Katra jumped up and folded her arms, she startled Evey into falling into the chair. "And how the hell do you think coming back with your tail between your legs will mend things? Also....why the SO SUDDEN urge to break it off with this leech? Hmm?" Sudden urge? Evey narrowed her eyes. She could swear what she saw between James and that girl was real. Hell, James even had scratch marks on his cheek. But something about the way Katra said this made eve falter in her conviction. She looked around at her fellow brothers and sisters who were watching along with her. Did any of them know anything? And why hadn't she known about this.... thing.... relationship....whatever it was....sooner?"Have you even considered what will happen to us James? Your brothers and sisters? Your FAMILY" She spit out without thinking, her green eyes flashing.

He expected this much from Patrick. Ella, too. He didn't see how she would want to have helped Litte and protect her. Why did she meet her in the cafe and tell her such things? They were empty promises to the vampire and James had to make his own arrangements for Litte. He knew Ella wouldn't pull though with Patrick.
"I want nothing but your word which I will obey as the law. I will gladly turn myself in to Xavier and Sevanni and let them do horrible things to me before they finish me off. It's the most fitting punishment for a traitor like me and the least I can do for a pack like you. Just say the word and I'm gone. You are the leader" he stated emphatically.
"But," he stared back intently into Patrick's eyes now, "I realize this would be nothing but selfish for me to do such a thing, unless you allow it, of course. I broke the alliance, I should be there when the fight goes down," he finished.
Hearing Katra's voice now, he spun around and faced her, this time locking his eyes with her's. "I can never hope to mend things myself. The only thing I can do, like I said, is turn myself in," he shot back at her.
At her next statement however, James' eyes narrowed, cruelty radiating from them. "I began realizing what that creature was. Exactly that, a creature. I used to look at her and see human but I let my head be clouded by emotions that were making no sense to me. It is completely possible that this vampire had me under mind control. That power does work on wolves, yes? Once I remembered the reason why I was fighting, to murder every last blood sucker from this planet, I realized what a mistake I was making. I broke it off with her immediately, mind control or not," he finished.
He glanced over to a very miserable Tillie. This was partly her fault, but mostly James'. She was just a tool. He would talk to her later privately. For now, he chose to ignore her, the only wolf on his side.
Now Evey spoke. "You will no longer be my family after this. Obviously I must leave. But I stand by my word, it would be selfish to abandon you and turn myself in. Should Patrick choose to fight then I will fight as well."

Smoke from a dark corner signaled his attendance even without being seen. Carefully he watched, listened as the screams and shouts of betrayal were replied to with objections and confessions of foolish behavior. Caleb stayed silent, for once.
In the shadows he peered down at the healing scar of the deep cut he'd made, his blood oath to the wolf who was now standing before the jury of his family. Awaiting their judgment. To him, it could have gone down a lot worse, could have become something that no one would be able to walk out alive from... At least for now, they were just exchanging verbal blows.
"You will no longer be my family after this. Obviously I must leave. But I stand by my word, it would be selfish to abandon you and turn myself in. Should Patrick choose to fight then I will fight as well."
Blue eyes blinked behind the screen of smoke, exhaling slowly and flicking the burning butt onto the floor before a heavy booted foot came down to end its short life. Only then did he shift his body into the bit of light, letting the sliver fall upon his lean frame.
And still Caleb said nothing. But he nodded to James, eyes intent and knowing.
Good on ya Scrappy.

Adam Vagus stood at the back of the room and silently listened. The handsome six foot three inch werewolf held no fear of being caught for he doubted that anyone here would even be moved to ask who he was even upon noticing him. Sure he was the head of the other pack, but aside from him and a handful of others that pack hadn't been very active. They'd started the whole damn war then sat back and watched, believing that since the war was half a world away they had no business getting involved. Well, Adam didn't buy that. If no one fought the enemy here they'd eventually bring the war to his turf and that was unacceptable. No, he'd fight. The problem was, was their any cause left fighting for? That was why he had infiltrated this pack's headquarters, to see what was left after his pack had dropped the ball.

Evelynn was taken back by what James had said. "You will no longer be my family after this". She blinked back tears that had sprang to her eyes while that phrase repeated itself over and over again, drilling into her skull. Drilling to the depths of her very soul. Her birth family had been ripped from her when she was but a child, leaving her alone in this cold world. Her first pack felt no ties to her, only guilt at what their Alpha Male had done to her during his uncontrollable weakness, also known to her as the full moon.
This pack was her family. It was all she had left in the world. This pack, and every member in it. She wanted to jump up and down, scream at the unfairness of it all. She wanted to maul James and make him pay for what he was doing to them. But most of all, she wanted to reach out and hug him. To protect him, to be there for him.
She hugged her arms to her chest, posing them in a way that almost felt like she could hold her breaking heart together. Almost felt as if she could hold her breaking pack together. Family was everything to her. It was her only reason for existing as of now. If their pack was missing one wolf, even just one wolf, It would never be whole. They all would never be whole. She tilted her head back slightly, shaking her black curls out and lifting her green eyes towards the heavens.
"We will always be your family James. Even if you turn your back and leave us after this war. We will always be your family." Evelynn breathed barely above a whisper to him, her voice cracking with sorrow as a single tear streamed down her face.

Landon had tagged along with Vagus; both hidden in the shadows. He wanted peace between the species and yet here he was in a room full of werewolves with one-mindedness. Except for, maybe, this James. As much as he denied it, Landon could swear he heard some little twinge in his voice- perhaps a little white lie. Not that it mattered much, Landon was waiting to hear what Patrick had to say. Don't feed that kid to them he thought waiting... watching.
He had been listening intentivly, dressed nicely in a black t-shirt and jeans. Seemed James had broken rule one for this pack. Don't be with a vampire. Landon wondered what they would do if they found out that he, a fellow werewolf, was happily with a vampire. Even Patrick, an aquaintance, Landon was sure would rip him limb from limb for loving her.
Landon would be more than happy to lent his help to this pack, names like Xavier, Sevanni sent anger racing through his veins. They needed to be extermenated- but then again, weren't theses wolves there opposites? That vampire coven wanted to make sure werewolves were exterminated. And these wolves wanted vamprires exterminated. Landon rubbed his temples, why couldn't the two just get along.
