Occ//Sorry I forgot about the thread. Posting now.(muse as died down)
Michael watched all of the jibber jabber evolving the pack and James. He was sitting on Patrick’s sofa. The drama was real big. He didn’t really care about James and the vampire girl being together. He only hated the vampires in the coven. He really hated Xavier and Aubrey. Parick was pretty pissed about the relationship and so was a lot of other members.
He looked at the two strangers in the back. He remembered spying on Landon. He too was in a relationship with a vampire. He needed to tell Patrick so he walked over to him and whispered in his ear, telling him that he needed to talk to him sometime with Ella and himself and tto not trust the two just yet. Then he walked out with a yawn about the mess. "Need me and I'll be in NY, note on my bed." Michael last said as he walked out.

Ella linked an appreciative arm with Caleb's. He was a God and right now she would have done just about anything for a cigarette. She glared at the two males. How dare they undermined her in that way. Her body stiffened.
"Anything you have to say to Patrick you can say to me. We share position of being head of this pack. We are equal and the same." The grip on Caleb's arm tightened. She was too aggravated to do this right now and she wasn't about to make a scene. Patrick was suddenly there and now Vagus's attention was directed at him.
"We'll give you a minute." She pulled Caleb along with her, heading for the door. Tension washed away from her being, as soon as she stepped into the night air. She sighed and lit the cigarette. She could have kissed Caleb right then. She smiled at the thought. That was the last thing he needed, more encouragement.
After a few drags she handed it off to him. They could share. She allowed a slight growl to purr in her throat. "Caleb, you can do me a favor." She smiled softly at him. "Go snag Evelynn up for me. Take her to Tillie's room and try to cheer her up." Ella groaned. If Tillie couldn't get over what was happening then there was no hope for the rest of them.
She pressed her head against his chest. She had learned to stop feeling badly when she needed the pack to help comfort her. She huffed. "Don't knock. Tillie wont answer. If you don't see her right away that means that she is hiding in her closet." Ella's eyes slid closed. How many nights had she ran to Tillie's room and found her cowering in her closet after another nightmare?
Evelynn and Tillie both needed security and safety from their pack. They needed the closeness and reassurance. She and Patrick were busy at the moment. Caleb would do nicely. He always made everyone laugh. She smiled up at him and pressed her hand on his cheek. "Take James too. He owes Tillie an apology and an explanation."
Ella walked slowly back up to the door. She turned to him slowly. "Help me keep them together." It came out a small whine. Her voice was too soft and sounded much to young. She walked back into the house and took her place back beside Patrick just as Michael was walking out. She looked curiously at Patrick. Something had happened in the few minutes that she had been gone.

Landon was mostly watching what was going on around him. The pack here seemed tight, but something like love could tear them apart, so how strong were they really? They let their hate for others that share a curse, get the better of them. They yell at James for his betrayal, their brother. Why should it matter? Their brother is happy. Shouldn't they be happy too?
Landon didn't really understand it, but he hadn't liked the idea of Vagus going alone, so tagging along sounded better. Now inside of someone elses space, severely out numbered if the rest of the pack came back, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on ends. Every nerve alive and waiting. "Hello Patrick," he said his voice strong kept normal- he was nervous even when he wouldn't admit it.
He turned to the female, who he'd picked up her name through the conversations "and Ella, nice to make your aquaintance," he seen no reason not to be just as polite to her as he was to Patrick, he wasn't much for the matcho-trip.
"Seems one of your cubs got into a bit of trouble," he said nodding his head in the direction of James, "figured against the likes of them you may need a bit of... assistance. While they might be after him today, it could be any of us tomorrow."
It posed a real threat those vampires who wished to exterminate the werewolves. Not just one packs problem. All their problem. Landon loved a vampire, he could just as easily be in James's shoes. He looked at the kid and gave him a half smile; he hoped the kid wouldn't just give up on his love so easily, after all it seemed he'd already lost his pack, he hoped he wouldn't loose the girl too.

One of the new wolves here was speaking, his name was Adam Vagus. James had heard his name tossed around the streets before, he wasn't a huge stranger to the kid. Of course, he never met him before or anything. Landon was another name he heard before. He had a reputation for just being a nice kind of guy. Patrick would probably tell him he was too "loose" or something. Patrick had a firm grip on his pack, James wasn't too sure about Landon or Adam.
It looked to James like Adam wanted to talk to him or something. He restrained himself from snorting, About what? I'm sure he'd hear enough about me already. Now Patrick was towering over him. James couldn't read his expressionless face. When he spoke, however, his words were firm. James never could hide anything from Patrick. He had his number and knew that the crap about breaking up with Litte was another lie. James was just full of em'.
Patrick's words were spoken plainly, but every syllable was harsh on James' ears. He didn't return a comment. Patrick didn't want him talking to him anymore. He simply nodded. Like hell he was going to talk to Ella. Unless she made the first move, he just didn't want to look into her eyes and see everything he did to her. He wouldn't be able to bare it.
His attention returned back to Vagus who seemed like he wanted to strike up friendly conversation. His light mood puzzled James. He was perplexed. friend James? he thought, more like bastard James he corrected mentally. His ears perked when he mentioned the blood suckers and the fact that the following conversation would enlighten the boy. He glanced at Patrick. He didn't dismiss him. James sank into the shadows and watched wearily from here.
Voices outside. James could very faintly hear Ella and Caleb's conversation. It was a whisper to him. He didn't get much out of it other than the fact that Ella wanted the pack together and Caleb should help her achieve this goal. She told him to take James up to see Tillie. He wondered how long it would be until Caleb came and snatched his brother away. His eyes darted back to Landon who was now talking.
Landon was a curious one. More curious than Vagus. He seemed... confused himself about this whole affair. Landon was a good guy. Patrick was, too. The difference was, Landon seemed more... forgiving. It also felt like he had a secret up his own sleeve. Was that the faint scent of vampire on him? Landon smiled at James slightly. James looked away, but gave a slight nod.

Patrick sighed; so much going on. He tipped his head and acknowledged Micheal's comments; he wasn't going to trust them. He didn't trust anyone outside his pack very easily. But he would listen to them at least. The situation was very bad, and they needed all the allies they could get.
Vagus' attitude towards Ella didn't go unnoticed. Some males, especially Alpha males, had trouble with strong women. He quirked his eyebrows. He had no such trouble. But he was reasonably polite, so for now, Patrick would let it go. He nodded, then listened to the other.
"Help is appreciated, but I have to wonder..." Patrick said slowly. "I understand you're here because of him." he didn't look in James' direction, or even indicate he knew he was still there. "But why put yourselves or your pack in danger? We're no responsibility of yours."
He was torn; he knew, if their situations had been reversed, he'd be considering the same thing. But then, he'd have trouble with the idea of putting his pack in danger for a cause that wasn't his. "You have a...personal reason...for being interested?"
He didn't suspect the vampire thing. To him, there was nothing about a vampire worth loving; James' infatuation was incomprehensible to him.

Adam wasted no time in answering. "Yes I do have a personal reason," he replied truthfully. He had already decided to lay all his cards on the table, to let everyone know where he stood. This would allow Patrick to make an informed decision and if their roles were reversed it was what Adam would of wanted. "That is why I asked for James to stay. I know what he's going through because I too have had relationships with vampires, both as friends and as lovers. It is my intention to see to it that James' relationship is allowed to grow unmolested. I came here to let him know that he's not alone and that he has friends who will help him. As for you and your pack, I must say that I'm disappointed that none of you are standing by him. I thought a pack looked after their own no matter what. You act like he's performed a mortal sin. Since when was love a sin?"

Smoke through the nose from a cigarette shared, his eyes staring at the crescent moon that had heralded the coming of this fateful night. His father always did say that waxing moons foretold mischief... Bet he hadn't been talking about this though.
"Caleb, you can do me a favor."
That unusually solemn gaze flicked back to the only other wolf he'd allow to lead him, the only other he'd obey. Caleb himself had a problem with authority, but when it came to his wolf, he would have happily rolled over, belly up and tail curled ,just for Patrick and Ella alone. A twinkle sparked a hint of mirth in bright blues and he winked at his alpha.
"Gimme some love and I'll do it for ya for free." he teased, welcoming her into a semi embrace while he puffed away.
As she leaned in, he lay his cheek against soft dark tresses, sniffing in the scent of smoke, the wilderness and something else that was so uniquely Ella. Once she had been too proud to even show the slightest bit of vulnerability, but at least she was learning how having a pack could become the strength she needed. A single unit, the driving force behind each wolf that allowed them to be as fearless as they wanted to be...
Yeah, look how that turned out...
He said nothing of course, just nodded as Ella made her requests, trying to clean up the mess that was made. Trying to keep the family together. It was not only her duty as Patrick's second, but she did truly love them all. Despite all their short comings and extra baggage, she still accepted them without question.
"Take James too. He owes Tillie an apology and an explanation."
"Aye, I suppose he does." he mumbled as he nuzzled her hand in a sign of reassurance and returned affection, she needed that. As strong as she was, she was still human, and that was what made him respect her most. He watched as she walked back into the house, letting her walk in alone to preserve her pride and status as alpha.
"Help me keep them together."
The blond wolf offered a slow blink and nod, sealing his promise with his trademark Caleb smirk. He hoped Patrick would be there for her, not that he doubted his head honcho but that lupine sure had quite a temper on him. They both did. Well, they could fight all they want, draw blood and leave marks. Blood didn't bother Caleb, it was how wolves reestablished their places within and outside the pack. The biting and clawing was alright by him, but it was being rejected that would kill her. Break her spirit, if he no longer responded to her call.
"Bleedin mess." he grumbled, flicking the cigarette away and scratched the back of his neck as he made his way back inside. He stuck to the shadows, keeping an eye on the two outsiders as he swaggered over to where his brother hid in the corner. It looked like Patrick already gave him the low down... And as much as he knew that the Alpha had every right to do what was necessary to protect his pack, Caleb hated it.
"Heh, would ya lookit that, now we got other pups pokin their snouts in." he snorted, nudging James in the shoulder, "C'mon Scrappy, we got ourselves some groveling t'do aye? Consider this an introduction to why they say that the female of the species is more deadly than the male."
A last look at the remaining wolves before he led his pack brother away from this turmoil and into a whole new one.

As Patrick spoke to the two wolves, James honestly didn't know where he should be right now. He wasn't staying for Patrick, the leader didn't care if he was there or not. He wouldn't look at him or say his name. He referred to James as him. This was understandable, obviously. Still, Patrick's words did send twinges of fear up and down his spine.
Vagus was talking now. James wasn't looking until he was mentioned. Vagus is here for... me? James thought in bewilderment. He has relationships with vampires? another thought he couldn't grasp. It always felt like he was a lone wolf. The only one of his kind who actually had friendly relationships with vampires. It was easy to get this image, seeing as the pack was dedicated to destroying those blood suckers. James never thought for a minute... a second that there were other wolves who shared his likes.
His eyes darted to Patrick when Adam shamed him. Oh no, here comes the fireworks he braced himself for Patrick's reaction. He found that he feared for Adam. Even after the kind wolf's words, James still felt utterly alone in this pack house. Patrick would undoubtedly not put up with a wolf who was trying to protect James. Unless, of course, Patrick had a few surprises up his sleeve.
Caleb's voice was suddenly near him. Jumping slightly, he spun around and fixed his gloomy dark eyes on Caleb's bright one's. James nodded to Caleb. Before he followed after him, he gave Adam and Landon one last look. We will talk later? his face asked. He turned on his heel and silently followed Caleb away from this mess that he created.

Patrick's nostrils flared as the werewolf openly admitted a relationship with a vampire. Sick. Disgusting. He almost took a step away, but caught himself.
Damn it.
He flicked a glance over to James, feeling his lips wanting to curl away from his teeth. "Love isn't a sin." He said, his voice just short of a snarl. "Stupidity isn't either, but it should be."
He sighed, trying very hard to control the beast. "He broke the pack laws." He said flatly. "He broke faith with us. Why should we stand beside someone who throws everything away? We offered him a place with open arms, gave without holding back, and he turned his back on us first."
He stopped a moment, then shrugged. "Like it or not, we could use your help." he admitted reluctantly. "I personally find the idea of being in any kind of relationship with a vampire disgusting, idiotic and incredibly degrading to all werewolves...but everyone has a right to die in their own way. Just keep your lover away from me..." He once again sealed his lips closed on what wanted to come out. This was more important than his personal beliefs. For now.
"So if you can put aside your...dissapointment..." His voice was sharply sarcastic..."and I can put aside my disgust, we might be able to talk."

Adam ignored Patrick's anger and sarcasm. The wolf obviously had a lot on his shoulders and was having a hard time dealing with it, although one would think that after being pack leader for so long he'd be able to handle such messes. Everyone has their breaking point, Adam thought. As a former cop he understood the need to punish lawbreakers but he still couldn't understand why these wolves hated vampires so much. Sure, a lot of them were murderous sons and daughters of bitches but that didn't mean all of them were such bastards. How could this pack be so blind? Seeing James leave Adam caught his backward glance and it's meaning. He nodded and turned back to Patrick just as he finished speaking.
"So if you can put aside your...dissapointment..." His voice was sharply sarcastic..."and I can put aside my disgust, we might be able to talk."
"Of course," Adam replied with a grin. Throughout their conversation he had never lost his trademark calmness. He remained cool and collected no matter what. "We are wolves, to do any less would be beneath us." Looking around he asked, "I'm thirsty, ya got any root beer around here?"

Ella placed her hand on Patrick's arm as she shot a warning glare at Adam. He had barged in unannounced into their home and now he was insulting them. Intentionally or not he was doing it. This should have waited for a different night. But it had already started and there was no postponing it. She was tired and she wanted to go to sleep.
She had a few things that she would have liked to say, but for Patrick's sake she kept her mouth shut. If Patrick could restrain himself so could she. She looked up at Patrick for a moment. Before turning her glare back to Adam. Her grip tightened a little.
She stared at him. Blinking at his apt rudeness. Who in the hell did he think he was? He was in their home. He had come uninvited and he had sat in on a gathering that should have been strictly for their family. She bit into the side of her mouth.
She smiled curtly as she mimicked his motion of looking around."I guess maybe I could go see, if you asked nicely."

"May I please have a root beer?" Adam asked nicely. He didn't know how in the world he was being rude by explaining his stance and asking for a drink so he just chalked it up to European snobbishness. And they wonder why we Americans don't give a damn about what they think, he thought. He also didn't know what this woman's problem was. He could understand her being pissed at him for crashing their meeting but it seemed to go deeper than that. Why would she go out of her way to flaunt her authority before them. "Anything you have to say to Patrick you can say to me. We share position of being head of this pack. We are equal and the same," she had said earlier. Perhaps she was a feminazi who just couldn't grasp that a man could think for himself and have no need of a woman holding his hand every step of the way. Adam was such a man and while he valued a woman's opinion just as much as a man's, in the end HE made the final decision. 'If ya have A&W I'd prefer that," he said unperturbed by her hostility.

Patrick sighed. "What do you want from us?" he asked abruptly. "I'm tired, in some pain, and still slightly pissed off, if you can't tel. I'd like to go to bed and get some sleep. So let's quit playing games and get to the meat of the matter. What do you want, and why exactly did you come here? To talk to James? Go for it. Leave me out of it. If you came here to discuss the coming fight, let's do that then. Either way, I'm tired and I'd like to finish this up as soon as possible."
He flicked his gaze at Ella, telling her wordlessly to drop the attitude and just go get the man a rootbeer. He had enough crap going on without Ella and this were snarling at each other. Not particularly fair to Ella, but then, he wasn't exactly feeling all that generous towards her anyway right now.

"Well, since you're here I'll talk to you first," Adam said. "James can wait 'til later. Now about this fight, you act as if it's going to happen any minute now. Are you that certain it's going to come to that so soon? I mean, they don't even know if you'll hand him over or not." Adam hadn't heard about any up coming battle, but then lately he'd been out of the loop quite often. Starting a fight did fit the corpse's MO of shoot first and ask questions later.

Ella pulled her hand away from his arm as if she had been burned. Her face darkened at his look. She stood there for a moment, scowling. She hadn't even done anything that bad. She could have said a lot worse to Adam. She debated telling him that he was accommodating this guest, not her. He could go get the man a damn drink himself.
Then again, Patrick was already mad at her and she didn't like it. Saying that would just make things worse. She usually made things worse before realizing what she was doing. She clenched her jaw and sent him a displeased look. Not that he would really care at this point though. He was ill with her, why would he care that she was angry with him? She cared and that was the only reason she turned and headed toward the refrigerator.
She had thought that it was a good idea to have it stocked with things that the entire pack could enjoy. They all frolicked about in here as if it was their own apartment. She dug through one of the doors and retrieved two Root beers. It was his brand, but she wished that it wasn't. She was more displeased with catering to him now than she was two minutes ago.
She glared at the A&W bottle and made a mental note of talking to whomever had went shopping last. She went to pull out two beers, but thought better of it and grabbed three. She didn't know what Landon might prefer. She didn't think to stop and ask him. She thought about his comment as she juggled the five bottles around, trying to situate them in her grasp.
Landon was right. He didn't know how right he was. They were going to come for them all one way or another regardless of the situation. James just made it easier for them to have a reason. She closed her eyes. Xavier had her as a captive once. She would never wish that on anyone, and especially not James. Patrick didn't understand why it was so hard for Ella to not try and protect him.
She would never be able to try and explain it either. Patrick would never want to touch her or speak to her again if he knew the things that she had to do to be able to leave. She was only furious that Xavier had escaped from her much easier.
She had even went as far as meeting with him and agreeing not to fight him all for Patrick. She understood his motives and his anger, but he didn't understand hers. She didn't think that he would even try too. Somehow she couldn't blame him. She wanted to, but she couldn't.
Ella shuffled back into the room. She placed a beer and an A&W on a small table beside Landon. He could choose the one he wanted. See. She could be polite to people that just barged in uninvited. She handed one of the beers to Patrick. She shoved the root beer into Adams hands. She thought of something bitchy to say, but she held it in and went to lounge comfortably in her favorite chair.
She watched them carefully, shaking her head at Adam's words. She sighed as she opened her beer. Taking a few sips of it and clasping it between her hands. She let out a loud groan and glared at Adam. "We're not handing James over, and even if we did it wouldn't matter. Xavier and Sevanni are not going to take this lightly. They were already planning on destroying us, now there is just added fuel to their fire."
Her hands gripped the bottle. She was fighting the urge to jump up and punch him in his arrogant mouth. "Obviously you don't know enough about them or their coven. Sevanni and Aubrey have already picked one fight with some of our pack. This 'alliance' meant nothing to them. Each one of them does their own thing. They are all defiant to Xavier's orders and that was the one thing that made us stronger than them."
She rolled her eyes. "They hate each other almost as much as we hate them. If we can try and put all petty differences aside we can have a chance to beat them." She made an emphasis on the word all. She didn't understand how Patrick could sit there and be so furious with James, but turn around and offer to take assistance from wolves that agreed with him.
It was one thing for James to have fallen in love with one vampire and try to overcome it. It was completely another for Patrick to gain allies with were's that embrace that lifestyle. He was being a hypocrite and it wasn't fair. She glared at Adam. There was no point in trying to be completely polite to him. Patrick was already angry. "And I don't see how you would have anything to say to James. He is none of your business and none of your concern. Not now and not later."
Ella lifted the beer back up to her lips. Her silver eyes watched him carefully. Patrick couldn't be mad that she said that. He wanted to be left out of it and he could. But no strange wolf was going to barge in and try to tell her or one of her pack what they should or should not do.
