Ali smiled at him. She could tell she left him in a tight spot and she could also tell he didnt know what to do. When he lied to her she could tell easily. He wasnt good at lying. She smiled and leaned towards him and whispered in his ear, "Your not a good lier." She then pulled away and added, "But fine. Ill let you buy me one pair of clothes. Understand? One. Thats all im letting you." She wasnt going to have him pay for more.
She stopped and took in her surroundings, trying to find somewhere they could go that wasnt to expensive. She would try and find something that was nice but cheap. "So. Have any places in mind? I've got nothing." She said with a shrug of her shoulders.

Landon grinned, and agreed quietly "I've been told that before, and okay, just one."
He wasn't the type of person who could pick out clothing, he was rather bad at it to be honest, which is why on his days off he typically stuck witht he good old stand by of a black or white t-shirt and jeans. Today he was dressed up for the resteraunt, in a tux, a light blue collared shirt under his jacket, and black shined shoes. "Typically I wouldn't know where to shop for clothing, but I had to pick up a suit today, and they happen to make the most beautiful dresses in all of New Orleans... or that is what they told me anyways."

Ali smiled at him gently and took his hand in hers. "Then lead on! I havent worn a dress since i was 14. And Ill be glad to now." She said to him and was eager to go shopping. When she did get money she always got jeans and shirts and tank tops. Never lovely dresses or skirts. They werent good for moving around a lot in. So she just always looked and never bought. The fact that he would buy her a dress made her happy beyonf belief.
As she followed him she was going through colors that might work on her. She had already excluded red. It didnt fit her skin color, but she was thinking, maybe white would work. She glanced up at Landon and she couldnt keep a smile off her face. It lit up her eyes and made her seem almost younger and like a child. The pain that was always around had left and she was just happy. But of course, she planned to pay him back for the dress as well.

He looked up to see a quarter moon, this made him happy, if it had been a full moon night he would have fleed from her, hid away and prayed in the morning he wouldn't be reading about mysterious deaths in the paper. No he could keep his wolfish behaviour under wraps tonight easily, this took all worries off of his shoulders for the night, well other than work that he was going to have to do late at night, and making Ali happy. It was the first time in a long time he was worried about someone elses happiness.
Landon smiled when she finally agreed, his fingers curled around her smaller hands he looked at her as he lead her to the store. Her brunette hair was dancing in the wind, she was smiling wide which made him happy, "then I feel special being the one getting to see you in one," he said happily, turning into the store he held the frosted glass door open for her, "pick out whatever you like."

Ali continued to smile as they walked. She glanced up at the sky and saw the moon and she thought it was perfect. Tonight she knew there wasnt any threat about werewolves. She still hadn't met one, but she wasnt sure if she wanted to or not. She didnt want to be killed. And since those thoughts werent ones she wanted to think at the moment, she pushed them aside.
When Landon opened the glass door she walked in and stopped near the front and looked at all the pretty dresses. She smiled and she was amazed at all of them. She then looked at him and smirked. "If I let you do that You would be paying for the most expensive one here. I wont do that. Ill find one that a decent price." She told him and then wandered deeper into the store.
She brushed her fingertips over the silky textures and she felt like a little girl again. Shopping with her mother. She stopped in the area that was her size and started shuffling through them. She didnt like that, she loved that, she wouldnt mind that, were the thoughts that went through her mind. She was worried she would take forever and never be able to decide when she found one she loved.
It was white and silky. It looked gorgeous already, even if it was on the hanger. She took it down and went over to the dressing room. She changed and looked at herself in the mirror. It was long and touched the floor. The straps at the top criss crossed across her back and the rest was bare. it had a loose fitting bow at the small of her back and over all it fit her perfectly. Every ruffle and curve fit. She walked out and smiled at Landon. "What do you think?"

Landon didn't want to look like a fool, but his mouth opened, but he couldn't find words. Well he found words they were just going by so fast in his head they couldn't jumble out of his mouth at once, so they didn't come out at all. After a moment of standing in a stunned silence he felt himself blush again get yourself together! He hated that she made him feel like a child, the blush was so out of his control, yet no part of him wanted to leave her.
"Uh, breathtaking," he said finally, one word that could describe it. She looked absolutely stunning, it was hard to imagine but the dress transformed her to become even more beautiful because unlike her other clothes these complimented her pale skin tone, made the highlights in her hair stand out more. He could see happiness in her eyes. "This the one you want?" he hoped it was, he couldn't imagine one better suited for her.

Ali beamed when she saw his reaction. He was stunned and yet she could tell he liked it. She glanced once more down at herself and then spun slightly, making the dress swirl around her ankles. "Yep. I love this one." She said to him and then went over to him and hugged him gently. "Thank you so much. I love the dress. I dont know how I can ever repay you." She told him and she was telling the truth. She didnt know how she could repay him.
She went back to the dressing room and grabbed her dirty clothes and then asked one of the sales ladies if she could have a bag to put them in. When they handed her one she took it and shoved them in and then slipped her hand through the holes and let it hang lightly on her wrist. "Now I can go with you. I feel like I wont embarrass you."

Handon hugged her back gently as if he would break her if he held her too tight. "You are repaying me with your company at dinner, besides seeing you in this dress is a reward in itself." Landon was a hard worker, but rarely spent money. His biggest purchaces were for his car back in Paris and his small home, bills were easily paid for him. He'd never been in any financial difficulties so he found no problem in paying for something like a dress or dinner. He'd pay much more just for a few more precious minutes with her.
Landon happily passed his debit card over the counter and pressed in his pin number. He waited till the lady returned with her other clothes, he frowned when she spoke of embarassing him. How could she possibly do that? He couldn't see it. "Please, how could you embarass me?" He asked holding the door open for her again, "you shouldn't think such things, anyone who can't see how great you are don't deserve to even wait on you."

Ali smiled at him once again. She couldnt stop smiling around him. He made her happy. She then watched as he payed for the dress. She would try and figure some way for pay back. She could send him the amount he payed for the dress, and then maybe something else. Her happiness was so much better then anything anyone had given her. Landon was special.
She followed him out quietly and chuckled at him. "I have ways of embarrassing people without even trying. Lots of people avoid me. Sadly...." She admitted as she walked. She glanced at the sidewalk and kept thinking about how happy he made her. Then a thought crossed her mind, she was smitten. It was obvious to her now. And she couldnt help it when a slight blush made her cheeks red.

Landon caught the tinge of red on her cheeks, it stood out on her pale skin, "aww now you are the one blushing," he said with a bit of a laugh. He was very content with her, her smile warmed his heart. He forgot about work, his duties at home, his long detailed to do list. Nothing mattered but his being here with her. He was happy for work at this moment, not only was it his refuge, but if he hadn't been in New Orleans for work, he wouldn't have bumped into this lovely stranger.
"Well I doubt that you're going to get rid of me so easily," he said wondering if he were being to forward with his saying that. "Ah this is the place," he said standing outside of a door, there was actually a line up which suprised him, he raised his eyebrow, he sure hoped this place would live up to the hype, especially since he wasn't here alone. He took Ali's hand gently, "come on," he guided her to the very front of the line, not carring about the angry whisperes behind them but spoke to the door man, "reservations for Darcy Cross." He never used his first name for work, but used his middle name, his fathers name.
The doorman checked his list and waved for a host, the young female host had a fake smile plastered on, "good evening, let me show you to your table."
Landon smiled at Ali, "hope you like it," he said following the host.

When Ali realized that he saw her blushing she blushed even redder. That embarrassed her. She didnt want him to see she was embarrassed and she was glad he couldnt tell where her thoughts were wandering. But then again, how bad would it be to let him know she liked him? But she decided to keep that to herself for now. What if he didnt feel the same? She would look like an idiot if that was the case.
But Ali stopped in her thoughts as they reached the restaurant. It was gorgeous on the outside and she could just imagine the inside. She also saw the line and wondered how long it would take for them to get in. But then he took her hand and all troubles left her. She followed him as they walked to the front and she was curious when he didnt use his real name. But she didnt say anything. When he told her he hoped she liked it she took his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I already do."

They had a small circular booth, two menu's produced from the perky woman's hands, "I'll be back to take your order in just a moment." The woman left, and it took a moment before Landon remembered that he should be figuring out what to order. He took hold of one of the menu's, most of the stuff was fancy he frowned, fancy food typically didn't fill you up because it was made of 'the finest ingredients' and it was a 'delicacy' which were chef words of saying 'it will cost you a fortune and when you leave you're going to have to go eat somewhere else to fill yourself up.' It wasn't helping that he couldn't focus on the menu, his eyes would read a sentence than look at Ali to gage her expression, then back to the menu, then back to Ali.
Finally he found a page of actual meals, a steak sounded delicious, it went on in a description but Landon didn't care what was on it a steak was a steak and he hadn't had one in a long time. He looked at the list of drinks he decided to steer clear of the alcohol and decided on water.
He seen the overly happy waitress returning, he asked in a low voice, "have you found what you want?"

Ali sat down and looked around the area. It really was gorgeous and amazing. She couldnt believe she was here at all. And with Landon! This was a lovely day for her. She took hold of the menu when the waitress gave her one and then looked over the food. Her hunch had been right. It was a fancy place with fancy food. She was glad her clothing was better.
Ali noticed Landon watching her and she had to smiled slightly. She watched him as well from under her long lashes. She finally found a section she liked. She always had a soft spot for pasta. So she figured, try it here. It had to be good. When he asked her if she knew what she wanted she nodded and put the menu down. "Yep." She said. She decided on a coke for a drink.

Ali was looking lovely, and no matter how hard Landon tried, and he did, he tried to critique the colour scheme of the table cloths and cushions on the chairs, the wood floors were spotless showing extreame cleanliness, but after a few moments of thinking his mind would drift back to her, you just met her! She's going to think your some crazy stalker or something the thought made him shift uncomfortably in his seat, he hoped she didn't see him like that.
When the waitress came back he didn't really pay her much mind, he did look at her while he was speaking, infroming her of wanting steak and water, he found it impossible not to look at someone when talking to them. He found it rude when he didn't. He looked at Ali waiting for her to order so the waitress would leave, he wanted to be around Ali, not a woman with fake smiles and politeness that was manditory for work.

Ali chuckled quietly to herself when she saw him. She wondered what was going through his mind. She was very intrigued by him and she really did like him a lot. He was kind and handsome and funny. All the things she loved in a man. He was one perfect package. But she tried hiding that she liked him so much. She didnt want him to think she was weird. If onyl she knew what he was thinking.
When the waitress came she waited to order, letting Landon go first. It was only polite to let him. Then the waitress turned to her and she said that she wanted the fetucini alfredo and a coke. It was something simple and she hoped it would fill her.
