Colbie laughed heartily, "no they drove me to be a run away. I read about all kinds of religions, and paranormal, and stuff like that. They only took me in because they probably thought it was a test from God or something. That and my mother was a chuch-goer so..." Colbie shrugged. "I think I was a bit of a outcast from the begginning" She said with a smile. Colbie had only known the chuch, the graveyard behind it, and the feilds along the dusty road. That and the small public school, she hadn't fit in anywhere, so she decided to move to the city, she still didn't fit in but it was a better match for her than the country ever had been. She was content in her apartment, content with her job, she wondered if that would all be out the window soon.

Lars chuckled along with her. He could see that in her, everything she had described. he wasn't sure what would have become of him if he had been raised in a church society. Being raised by an atheist and agnostic, you didn't really have much going for you on the religion aspect.
"An outcast from the start, eh?" he said with a slight smile, "You and be both actually..." he finished as his face gradually went straight. He wasn't sure how he could have been, being raised in a diverse city. But outcast he was. Of course he had select friends, but he guessed he didn't see things the same, or something to that matter. Whatever it was, he and Colbie seemed to be having more in common as time went on.

"YAY OUTCASTS!" Colbie shouted throwing her arms in the air enthusiasticly. Knocking a flimsy shelf that fell out on it's one side dropping a few dozen books and a glass that had been filled with shiny rocks that she had collected during childhood. She stared at the books, broken glass and pebbles on the floor, but was only distraught when she seen the wall, the shelf had scratched the paint and drywall, "well that sucks." She sighed not really caring much she started piling the books and sorting the glass from the pebbles, "so did you grow up here in this city?" She asked studying a rock it was a baby blue but had black in the center, many of her classmates had seen it as a imperfection and had tossed it aside, Colbie had been happy with her find, while the rest of her classmates had their image of perfection, Colbie had a unique peice that she found more beautiful than all the rest. She grinned and put it into the pile of pebbles. (BTW, congrats on MOM... wait... member of the month... )

Lars laughed out loud as the shelf came tumbling down. "Wow, Colbie..." he said shaking his head. He examined the mess on the ground and helped her sort through the mess of pebbles and glass. "You know you have super strength now right? Be a little bit more careful with your outbursts, eh?"
"Yeah, born and raised here in the Big Apple," he said smiling to himself. He really did love his home city, everywhere felt like home here, a dark alley even. He trusted most of it, but knew what parts of his old York girl not to trust. She was a shifty changing thing, his city. But the changing was why he might of liked it so much. "Pretty entertaining, growing up in the city I guess..."

"I wish I had grown up here," Colbie said, she had wondered why she didn't feel any pain when she hit the shelf. Super strenght, that was something she could get use to. "There are so many different people to meet, cultures to explore, and places to go."
She was starting to feel hungry, the thought of blood, part of her thought it was a discusting thought, but the other was drooling over it. She figured she finally had all the glass in a pile and got up to get the broom, she swept it into a dustpan, and looked around for any more shards before she dumped it in the garbage.

Lars paused to think about her words. He still couldn't imagine growing up anywhere else. he had accessiblilty to everything, he had the most amazing and outlandish parents who let him become whatever he wanted with only a few restraints. He was really spoiled his life... but he got his fair share of bullyings because of his freedoms, adn the choices he made for himself weren't the best socially sometimes, or at least back in school they weren't. Hence the outcast.
Although he was outgoing and friendly enoguh he supposed, his mind was too open for people to really comprehend it. Most people just knew him as the dorky kid who enjoyed the likes of Placebo, David Bowie, and The Smashing Pumpkins... he had most of the guys thinking he was gay, and the girls pittying him and wanting to get to know him better so that they could have agay guy friend, but hardly anyone knowing the real him at all. He'd been called things from fagg to athiest whilt being shoved in a locker.
His beliefs were all twisted adn morals rearranged. He led his own life, and it intimidated people. That's what his mother used to tell him when he came home with a black eye from middle school, back then he was sure it was just something a mother had to say to her patheitic son, but he had come to the conclusion now, that it did bother some people somewhat. He had his friends in the past who'd helped and stayed by him, and he was greatful for them, that's all that he concerned himself with now.
Pulling himself off the floor and back to the present he meandered on to the kitchen to see exactly what was going on. In his opinion, this was going much too smoothly, adn he was jsut waiting for a lash out of the knew power she had. Maybe it jsut hadn't all sunk in yet, but soon all her senses would intensify, and it may get hecktic. But once that passed, he was sure she would be ready to feed maybe...
But this still seemed on such a small level to him, they seemed too distant from each other, even though he'd literally been through the worst with her. It wasn't sincere enough at the moment, he wanted to change that.
He placed himself ontop of some countertops in the kitchen as she dumped the rest of the small rubble. "Soo..." he said slowly, trying to think of what to say next, he knew he didn;t have anything in mind, but, maybe she did, she was the one who just went through the biggest thing to heppen to her since birth, "Any thoughts running through your mind right now?"

"MY HAND ISN'T EVEN BRUISED!" Colbie exclaimed in a outburst, thrusting the back of her hand in front of Lars's eyes, "I bruise when I walk into the coffee table, I just punched a shelf down and look!" She brought the hand to her face now searching for discoloured skin, but nothing, just the back of her pale hand, "nothing, perfectly fine, didn't even feel it."
She looked up at Lars and grinned sleepishly, pressing her finger to her lips speaking softly, "sorry for yelling," she was aware her voice tended to get loud when she was excited, happy, or stressed. It got high and sqeaky when she was lying or nervous about something.
She rocked on her feet staring at the ceiling, "fangs," she stated her voice going high even though she had tried to contain it, "and feeding, stuff, um... it's not really like throwing something in the microwave and picking up a fork anymore... is it?" Her bottom lip came out and quivered, she told herself it was childish, but in some ways Colbie had never grown up.

Lars turned up a half smile after he jumped a little on his perch on the counter. He let his eyes cross sillily while she stuck it in his face, soon to just pull it back as he let his mile grow. "Well, like, it might have been bruised for like, fucking two seconds... but you've got super healing now too," he said jumping down from the counter, using simple vocabulary, as her mood ebbed off on him. But his smile faltered as her own did.
He jumped from the counter and gently grasped her arms gently once she touched her lips. He grapsed tighter but more gently as he searched her face. Slowly backing up into the counter, almost a mimic of three days ago with the tree, only this time more gentle. He gathered with this stance, he could send the wrong message, but truthfully, he just wanted to be sincere, and get the point across.
"No," he started quietly setting his forehead on hers, "No microwaves... Animals, or Humans, girl... You need to make you pick."

Colbie was silent for a moment, Lars calmed her, she was silenced though he had said nothing to silence her. "Humans," she said deciding, she couldn't go around in New York hunting down animals, it just wasn't realistic. Tears bubbled, she looked up and blinked fast willing them away, her lip quivered as she realised what she would have to do to survive.
"Do you think they are going to hunt me down and burn me at the stake?" Colbie exclaimed suddenly, then went silent, "wait, no that's witches, my bad." She hugged Lars tightly, like that, she felt safe, the worrying started to ease up, but the tears were still trying to escape her eyes much to her dismay.

His head nodded his head softly with her final answer. He looked at her puzzled for a moment with the burning reference, it was just odd. But then realization filled his face as she caught her slip up and just caught him up in an embrace, he gladly returning the favour with his own arms tightly wound around her. With that piece of information, they could probably now go out and fix her hunger. But, he wondered about his turning, and how that turned out. Him, ravenous, murdering his best friend... He didn't want that sort of thing happening. It was only obvious how to prevent that though. All he had to do was watch her and be there. He imagined it would be that simple... for he always thought he would have never done such a hideous thing if he actually had someone there guiding him. But it just didn't work that way. He had been confused, hungry, angry, and totally out of himself after those agonizing three days. But he couldn't let Colbie do that, or come to that. He was sure of it, or at least he'd try his best, which would be a hell lot. He pulled himself slightly away from her only to place his for head on hers. He looked at her fully in the eyes with reassurance, maybe his own last convincement that he could do this too. "I..." he began to say, trying to form words, "I promise, I-I won't let you down..." he said with a slight shaking of his head before taking a step away and grabbing her hand, beginning to guide her through the door as the sun had ultimately just set. "I promise," he began again with his back turned to her but turning back around briefly before continuing, "I promise I'll take care of you..."[end? :3 I liked it... since it was basically personal to him gah, I'm such a sap about these things]
