Lars nodded softly against her back as his arms still held her tightly. He remembered how it felt to die, you were falling apart. Wih the memories Lars gripped a little tighter to try and hold Colbie together, maybe a little. It brought him comfort at least.
It was just going to be like this for the next few days, the pain would stay the same. But after a while start to numb, then finally subside away with new found strength from it all.
Just another few days.
[time elapse! I wasn't going to let yu have to roleplay it all out! Unless you wanted to we could start with it finishing off, or totally done, up to you]

[YAY TIME WARP I'll start with it ending] Colbie awoke stiff curled over herself, other than being in a most uncomfortable position for the past three days the pain was gone. She begun to sit up slowly, only then realizing that Lars was still hunched over similar to her, his arm over her back. A small grin formed on her face, she looked to the curtains that were dark themselves in colour were a bit lighter this told her it was day out. Lars seemed to be sleeping and she shuffled out from his arm and gently got him into a semi-laying down position on the couch. She stood slowly her back snapping as she did so, she grinned, that hadn't changed. It was then that she realized she had been in the same clothing for the past three days and the though appalled her, sure, there was nothing that she could have done about it, but she still thought it was rather gross. She took one last look at Lars before walking to her room. Her head was full of the past days that seemed to pass in a blur of pain. Lars had been right, in day two it had numbed substantially, and in the last day she felt nearly nothing, but her mind had numbed as well. She opened her closet and grabbed some clothing from the rack and a few articles and accessories from her dresser and walked into the bathroom, not before she took a glance to the living room to ensure that Lars was still there. She turned on the water and was happy to be under its spray, she happily took a sniff of her favorite shampoo and applied it while semi-danced in the shower humming a tune that she couldn't remember the words too. Once she got out of the shower she brushed her teeth which she checked out in the mirror, her eyeteeth looked more pointed. She continued brushing with the cinnamon tooth paste while applying eyeshadow with the other hand. She was use to getting up late and having limited time to get ready, thus she had become very good at multitasking with such things. Colbie dried her hair with her towel and brushed the damp strands before throwing the towel in the hamper, she couldn't help but laugh out loud. She had always pictured vampires in castles, in gowns and suits, and she was in a pair of jeans that she had drawn on that had a hole in the left knee and a black low cut tank-top. She was going to be a vampire that wore old clothing and did laundry in the puny run down laundry mat down the street, I wonder how long that place is open she thought to herself while applying eyeliner. Deciding that she was finally decent she opened the door and realized how warm the shower had made the small bathroom. She took a peek down the hall to the living room.

Lasr had been holding Colbie the past 3 days and had fallen into a sleep since he couldn't conjure up anymore comfort for the girl. His sleep senses felt himself being lowered onto the couch, the said senses alerted him to awaken when he didn't want to, so he continued to close his eyes and rest. He turned over and curled himself up while he faced the back of the couch.
He tried but couldn't get himself to sleep again. Too many thoughts ran threw his head. More thna less all about what he'd done, now he had practically a baby on his hands, and considering he'd only been a vampire for 2 years, he was more or less a 13 year old with a baby. Not really capable at all.
Thinking in metaphors was always something Lars could understand, it helped him sort it out better. Since he was the said teenage mother, he was contemplating putting the thing up for adoption, since abortion was out of the question. But he wasn't that heartless, and it was his responsibility. And in reality she was not a baby, adn he was not a 13 year old. So why not?
The shower was running from a seperate room and Lars thought back to make sure it hadn't been long since his last shower, 3 days ago, ew. He'd have to go back to his apartment later on sometime. After wherever this would lead to.
He figured he'd have to show Colbie the ropes and what not. He'd had to learn it all on his own, but it did cost the life of his best friend, and he didn't want her to go through that. The hunger would be setting in soon after all.
Lost in his thoughts he was brought back to reality by the sense of being watched, the shower had also stopped.
Lars poked his head up over the couch to see a fully dressed and clean Colbie head poking out from the hallway.
"Why, Hello, my little vampire!"

Colbie gave a small smirk, "how long have you been awake?" She looked around the apartment, it could use a dusting. "The shower is free if you want it... I might have some guys clothing around... but i'm not sure if they will fit you." She had let one of the frequent customers of the shop she lived above and practically ran stay with her for a few days, he had gone missing after three days, she'd never seen him again. He was a bigger man, and even with a belt she doubted that the pants left behind would fit Lars.
Now that she thought about it, she hadn't been to work in three days. The rent of the apartment came out of her pay. Now she wondered if her employer was going to phone. She looked at her answering machine, that was flashing, and bit her lip nervously before hitting the button.
Hey Mitch, you catching the game over at the pub? call me back
End of new messages
"Hmm wrong number," she was happy that her employer didn't call, but she wondered how she could run the shop with the light streaming in the front windows. She glanced at the wall clock, she should be opening up in an hour. She sighed wondering how long could she stay here?

Lars nodded a little while chewing on his inner lip subconsciously. He's gone longer with the same clothes before, no matter how gross it was, but he could use a shower. Later, he thought. He did have to spend all day here after all.
Raking his brain he figured he hadn't really thought to much about anything in the last three days and thought of he'd missed something, he hadn't.
Another thought came up, if Colbie had missed anything. His question was answered with a cock gaze and a sigh. It was times like these he wished he could be cool and read people's minds to tell them what to do about there problems without asking what it was first. Like the superhero's did in movies. But he was no superhero, so he had to ask, 'What's on your mind Colbie?"

Colbie shrugged, "how do you pretend to be normal, how can you keep a place to live with out the sun? I haven't been to work in three days." Colbie was worried if she was kicked out, where would she go? She would have to find a new place, but who gives out viewings to apartments after dark? She ran her hand over her stomach it felt like it was trying to eat itself, but it was nothing next to dying so she ignored it. She vaguely wondered what the people who raised her would think of her now. A poor young girl working at a supernatural book store, who also happened to be a vampire, the thought was nearly humourous.

Lars chuckled, even though he shouldn't, this was serious, 'grown up' issues. Most of his work had been done at night anyway, so it didn't effect him when he was changed. Not like he had a real job, he still didn't. But it was New York, practically everything was open at night, anything interesting anyway.
"Well, I hope you don't like your job, cause the way it works, you're going to have to find a new one", he said with the slightest bit of sarcasm, "Now, I figure, since we're just getting started with all this we should run through the options. You could find a fancy night shift job, leave the tenant the money under the door, simple", he finished shrugging.
The other option was a little... based on her opinion, and what she wanted to do, with her life style, that is. He didn't really know how to put it nicely, but he figured he did change her, so she had to have gotten it by now. It's partly what he did to get by, along with many other things mother would not approve of, but a big portion of his salary came from it. "Do you want to live off people, or animals, first off...?" he didn't expect a fast answer, but it needed to be asked at some point.

Colbie stood in a shocked silence for a moment before she could even get her mind around the words. Live off of. There was something to think about. "Um...I..uh." Her mind stopped working for a moment. Animals to Humans, what was the difference between the blood, was one better for a vampire than the another? She wondered if there was a taste difference, her tounge ran over her newly found sharper teeth they ached at the thought. How many wild animals were there in NYC anyway? Perhaps that lifestyle meant moving somewhere else. She was going to ask Lars which he prefered but then she recalled everything from the past three days and the answer was very obvious. She sat down on the couch chewing her lip, "I really don't know, i'm sorry."

"It's fine, you don't have to answer now", he said quietly. He never wanted to feed off humans really, everything just fell into place. He was a vegetarian previously, and he was in the same apartment with a human once the three days was over. His best friend, the memory he tried to forget. He stood up some barriers and made his face steel to avoid anything getting out.
"You just, need to find out..." he said without emotion, "You'll need to decide soon." The change was great, and she hadn't eaten for 3 days, she would be hungry, not for a cheeseburger though. "Animals are fine, from what i hear, they're bland next to people. And animals don't carry money", now he was getting at how to make a living, "The dead people don't need their wallets generally..."

"I guess not," Colbie had tried being vegitarian during her early teen years but found herself wanting a big mac in the end, and a pepperoni pizza wouldn't be bad either. She couldn't keep the comitment of only eating veggies and so it became a short lived fad for her. Was taking the blood from humans bad? She had taken the meat from animals, they had been lower on the foodchain then, it just so happens now that humans were lower on the foodchain now.
Humans though had family, friends, people who would miss them, search for them and find a hollow bloodless body. The mental image gave Colbie goosebumps to even think that she was capable of doing that. But on the other hand who is to say that animals don't have feelings, families... herds? either. If killing farm animals she could end up leaving farmers unable to support their family.
Well wasn't this a predicament. Colbie was hungry, she wished she could just have the left over pizza in the fridge. "Thanks." Colbie said turning to Lars, "for staying." Even though she was currently having a dilema over what to eat, it wasn't like she was deciding between a burger or fries, it was a life and death matter for something else. It was not only giving her a headache but making her hungry.

Lars nodded and let out a small smile. He wasn't even going to try and contemplate what would have happened if he had not stayed, just let her stranded in the park. Even without the whole change, she'd be lost in Central Park at night, and that itself is cause for disaster.
"Well, I'm going to take you up on that shower offer," he said getting up from the couch, "Just don't go anywhere..." he trailed off while he walked off into the hallway. If she were to go anywhere in the apartment complex, there might just be hell to pay. But hopefully she was smarter than that. And hopefully her decision would be made by the time Lars was clean and out of the shower.
He stood under the hot water trying to let some stress out. He had no clue how to do this, no one ever showed him! What if he did everything wrong too, he was just making another fluke. Deciding not to think anymore of it he grabbed up some soap and finished showering. The water ceased its flow once the nozzle was turned off. Lars squeezed out the extra water from his hair and shook it around to let the droplets fly. He quickly dried himself with a towel and dressed again before walking out back into the living room.

Colbie watched as Lars went toward the shower, his warning fresh in her mind. She didn't have any desire to leave anyways, where would she go? She turned on the television, it was on the news channel, she turned it to a mixed music channel before heading toward the kitchen opening a bottom cupboard she found cleaning suplies she grabbed a rag and dusting spray before heading back to the living room, she dusted off the table and television stand, and pictures she had kept from her old life, nothing recent, just pictures of her with people from the town who had helped to raise her. There memory was distant, a life time ago.
She filled up the sink and poured in some soap before submerging the dishes into the water, she begun washing them. Part of her started wondering why she was, she wasn't going to use a plate for her next meal. For any meal. She stared at them submerged in water debating on what to do when she heard the water turn off in the bathroom. Her stomach felt empty, it grumbled. She sighed, humans or animals, what do I decide? She started scrubbing away, she thought best when her hands had something to do. She rinsed the plate before placing it in the dish rack to dry. "I live in New York, who can find animals here?" She muttered out loud. She put another dish in the rack, logically, humans were the way to go. Her concience was still in tack though it made her stomach queasy. "There are a lot of ass holes in New York..." if they were bad people, was it really so bad if she used them for her survival?

Lars was walking out of the hallway when he over heard Colbie's thinking aloud about assholes, "Trust me I'm one of them!" he said jokingly trying to lighten the serious mood the situation should be. He talked into the open living room to see if he dropped anything or if he had everything in tact on his being.
The place smelled strongly of cleaner, especially since being a vampire heightened your senses. He looked around to notice it was all much cleaner too, of course. The gleam of a picture frame in glass caught his eye and he padded over in his socks to the frame letting his eyes scan over the snapshot. "Family photos?" he called to Colbie through the small apartment to the kitchen.
He remembered that, the photos, portraits, everything. Even how dis-functional his awkward family was, even once it was totally split apart, he missed it now. He hadn't seen or spoken to his parents or any real family in a little over 3 years. Of course he wasn't old enough to have outlived all of them, his parents were still out there, in this city even. Maybe to spot him one night from their high windows as they crawled to sleep. Even after he had ran out on his mother, he still occasionally called or met up with her, she just never trusted or approved of him anymore. He could never trust either of his parents again, but that doesn't mean he didn't not love them or miss them in any way. He wished maybe that he could meet up with his father one last time, through the divorce he didn't see much of him after all, just to talk to him a little bit one night would be fine. But Lars let his stray thoughts get crushed by reality an now, he had other things to hope and worry for.

Colbie let out a small but genuine laugh, "there are a lot of things i'm sure you are Lars, but I didn't peg you as an ass hole," she said with a grin putting the last of the forks into the dish dryer and unplugged the sink before she looked around for a towel but ended up just drying her hands on her pants.
She walked back into the living room, as she seen Lars looking at her pictures. "Well... yes I suppose they were my family." She thought thinking, she though of them more of guardians then parents. They took care of her because they knew her mother, not because they had any real connection to her. "I don't even know why I keep them, it just seems to be every time I have them ready to be thrown out, I find I have nothing to replace them with so I keep them." At least an empty frame was the excuse she liked more than the longing for a family. She had always hoped that growing up in the church one of the families that always came would take her in, perhaps they would already have children, Colbie had always wanted a sibling, instead they helped the church cloth her and feed her. They would talk to her while there but outside of the church they held no ties with her. Helping out made them all feel good, helped them sleep at night thinking they were rightious. Colbie studied the pictures, one of her with a nun who had read her to sleep on her stay, Colbie was grinning widely, the nun looked stern. There were a few more pictures, one of her with one of the families of the church, she wasn't ment to be in the picture she was reading under a tree in the background, a book about spirits. This was something the church had been angry about, this picture had been proof, but she had liked it. It was the only picture she had that she looked truely content, herself, not smiling because they told her too, or being polite even when the adult looked at her with pity or crinkled their nose at her fashion sense.
There was one of the outside of the church, "thats where I grew up." She said pointing at it, "it was a dull place to grow up."

Lars shrugged. Tons of people thought he was an ass, some people thought he was the nicest person they could ever meet. Usually it depended on what he thought about them, what side he would show off. He figured he hadn't shown off his asshole side to Colbie, but not the overly sweet side either. Maybe he had yet to show anything.
Family in general was used loosely by Lars. Bloodlines meant nothing to him. It was all heart. If a mother never cares for her kids, she's not family. Whereas, if a friend takes you in, family. He wasn't sure where he drew the line, but it worked. Sometimes, someone can't even be related to themselves by his method.
"It doesn't look that bad..." he said still analyzing the mismatched photos. "More interesting than suburbia life, eh?" he said to the side still looking. He had never lived in suburbia, or the country, just city life was all he ever knew. He was totally content with it, too. If he were too live some place quiet, he would most likely drive himself mad with his wandering thoughts.
A church? he thought to himself. He never really thought much about religion of sorts, it was just all a big hassle. Mortal or not, he wouldn't waste his thoughts on it. Religion was too overrated, all it ever did was cause wars and confusion. What was the point?
"So, they turn you into a nice little church girl?" he said jokingly.
