The thought of it being the last few hours with Ali was rather devistating to Landon. He couldn't do any more than ask her to come with him, if she didn't want to come, it was out of his power. He hated that, in work he had a choice of assignments that came with experience, he had the money to afford a nice home that he enjoyed, he liked those choices. This was out of his control.
"You don't have to ask," he mummbled, with a small grin on his face, "I offered. You think you scare people off? Humans can sense something is off with me, guys get defensive and avoid you, girls avoid all together. Most stay with a pack..." Landon had never belonged to a pack, he wondered what it would be like. Probably enjoyable, around people who understand. He wanted human life though, he wanted to work, wanted to meet people, wanted to see the world. He chose this life and had never regretted it.

Ali swallowed and looked at him with tear filled eyes again. It hurt her as well to think about this being the last time she would see him. She really liked him and it wasnt fair that he had to leave. She also didnt want him spending that much money on her. The dress had been enough.
She leaned forward and took his hand quietly. She traced the lines in his palm gently and smiled. "Girls avoid YOU? Now thats laughable...." She said to him. She then looked at him and said, "Do you really want me to come along?" She wanted him to say yes but was her own silly desire to much to ask?

"They do, humans are weaker than us, I think thats why- the only way they stand a chance is to sense something, to sense we are different, stronger. Those who listen to their intuition stay safe, those who don't... well thinks happen. And it really isn't as laughable as you seem to think it is. It's down right pathetic sometimes." He thought back to the last time he had had any connection to a woman, he was twenty three living in Montreal, lasted about two weeks and she broke up with him- at her side a man who stood over Landon (which he stands nearly six two himself) built, with tattoos, and a scar on his face. He looked menicing and if Landon wasn't a werewolf with super-strenght he might have been a bit frightened.
His eyes were closed, his mind was on his hand, her fingers running over it. A kind, calming gesture. He heard her question, he peeked out of one eye, "isn't that what I said before," he grinned, it seemed she was wearing down, he opened both eyes and looked at her, "yes, I really do want you to come, but that decision is yours and yours alone, my invitation stands." A faint smile was on his face, he didn't want to get his hopes up only to have them dashed.

Ali listened intently to what he was saying. She could understand that. Humans avoided them. They had better instinct then to actually run into a vampire or werewolf and not be afraid. But Landon was very good looking. It was part of their perks for hunting. They were so good looking it drew people in. And even she thought he was very good looking. So how would a human view him? She didnt believe that a human woman would avoid him.
She also noticed the slight pain in his eyes as he said that. She figured he must have had a bad relationship beforehand. Why did things never work out for immortals? She had to ask that to herself but she shook the question off and traced the lines on his palm still. She lightly went up to his wrist and then to the bottom of his palm. She hoped it wasnt annoying him.
She had to smile as well at his offer. She was glad to hear he wanted her to come along. She chuckled and then said, "All right. Ill go. But we will most likely have to be on two different planes. You leave sometimes today..and I cant go out into the light..."

"I'll switch my flight to a night time one, I should have been packing," Landon admitted sheepishly. Not to mention sleeping; he would be running exhausted through customs at noon if he went. No the night flight was sounding much better.
He was happy she was coming with him, a little nervous, but happy.
Landon laughed and grabbed Ali's hand when he calmed down he looked her straight in the eyes, "that tickled." Most of it was enjoyable, calming even, but the very center of his palm was ticklish.

Ali was happy he said he would change his flight. She flew alone all the time and she didnt know how it was to fly with someone. This would be her first time. And the fact that it was with Landon made her smile. She glanced at him and noticed he looked tired. "Well. I wont keep you busy. You should pack. And then sleep. Long night ahead."
She blinked then when he grabbed her hand. She wondered if she had been annoying him by tracing his palm and then she blushed slightly at his comment. "Oh sorry. Didnt mean to tickle you." She chuckled though and tried to force back the red in her cheeks. Why was she blushing like an idiot? She shook her head at herself. She must look like an idiot teenager on her first date.

"Before I can do that, I have to cancel my flight and book two new ones," he smiled, it was much easier to do over the phone or internet than it was to do in person, while the people were friendly and eager to assist they seemed to shy away from him. Most humans did.
He reluctantly let go of Ali's hand and grabbed his sleek black phone from his pocket sliding it open. For him though there was a easier way to travel. Work. He found them under his short address book listings and pressed call. He motioned he'd be right back before walking into the petite kitchen. "You want anything," he called to her.
well no, but i'm assuming since you are calling you do. The voice over the phone replied. "Sorry, I was talking to someone else," Landon said, "can you rebook my flight for a night one please." A sigh could be heard from the other end why? "Because I asked so politely," Landon replied inocently opening the small fridge wondering how they fit so much inside something so tiny. "And can you make it two tickets" you are pushing it kid "Mark, i'm twenty seven, seriously can you cut the kid stuff." Your ticket goes under work, the other one you better be paying me back for Landon. "You knew I would," Landon replied. I'm sending the tickets to your hotel, ask the lady at the front desk for them before you leave... you owe me. "Yeah, yeah, yeah," Landon replied casually before hanging up. He'd known Mark from when he was human, he was good natured, energetic, and conversational. How they continued to be friends astounded Landon, but he was happy for it.
Landon peeked his head out of the kitchen, "sorry, did you want anything? And the flights have been booked for 9:20"

Ali looked at him and smiled. Yeah, rebooking might help their case. She was a little sad to let go of his hand but she did and just leaned back on the couch. That was her first mistake. It was a very comfy couch for one and she was exhausted. The only thing that kept her up was hearing Landon talking to someone on the phone and that she could see him walking around in the kitchen since she was laying down.
She chuckled when he asked her if she wanted anything the first time and she shook her head. She closed her eyes and just listened to him talking and dozed off slightly. She startled awake when he spoke again. She smiled at him and yawned. "Nope. Im good." She told him and then realized she was still in the dress. She wouldnt be able to sleep in that. She was scared she would rip it and she didnt want it getting all rumpled.
She stood up and looked at him once again. She was going to be very brave at the moment and she blushed even deeper. "Umm...I have a favor to ask. Could I borrow one of your large shirts to sleep in? I dont want to sleep in the dress and my clothes are dirty.." She shuffled her foot on the ground.

He only noticed Ali had been sleeping after he'd already spoken and awoken her, he frowned, he should have looked first.
"Yeah sure," Landon replied he took her hand and led her to the room he'd been staying in for the better part of a week, his suitcase was half full on the floor, that stuff was all dirty, he seemed to find that the easiest way to travel, if it is dirty pack it. Don't pack more than you need, that way when the trip is done at least your clothing is packed. Sure that would be easy enough to follow, but he always packed extra everything so it didn't help much at all, he slid open the glass closet door, "take your pick, the selection isn't very good." A red t-shirt, a black long sleeve shirt and a blue button up was all that was left, accompanied by a suit jacket that had a tie lazily thrown over. "I have a extra pair of pajama pants, they are draw string... but they will be way too long. Anyway they are in the second drawer if you feel more comfortable with them as well." He covered his mouth as he yawned, he was more comfortable with the thought of sleeping knowing she was still going to be here come... night, he relised looking at the clock, it was nearly 5:00am.

Ali noticed she had upset him and she said, "Dont worry about waking me up. I was only dozing off." She waved her hand in a gesture to show it was no big deal. But she followed him as he took her and and led her to the room he was staying in. She smiled at the pretty room and chuckled at the dirty clothes in the suitcase.
When he slid back the closet door she noticed he didnt have much clothes left. She felt bad for asking to borrow something from his limited supply. But she walked forward and grabbed the red t-shirt from the hanger. She chuckled at him about the pants and said, "Ill be fine with just the shirt. The pants will probably be to big. I have a stupid skinny waist." She rolled her eyes and then headed off to the bathroom to change.
She closed the door behind her and slipped out of the dress quickly. She placed it to the side and then pulled the shirt on over her head. She breathed in and smiled as she breathed in his scent. It smelt just like him. She would love this. She then took one glance at herself in the mirror and sighed. She stuck her tongue out at herself and then opened the door and went back over to him.

In the time that Ali had changed, so had Landon; he hadn't bothered with a shirt, the humid Louisiana heat was enough to make this become habit forming. His light blue drawstring pants contrasted with his tan skin. He had always been called pale, but next to Ali... he was definatly tan. He was sitting cross legged on the one bed chugging down a bottle of water he had retreived. He set it, cool and half full on the dresser not bothering with the cap.
He smiled when he seen her come in, his red shirt looked exceptional on her, he didn't comment though, he figured any comment could be taken wrong. So he decided to just stick with smiling contently. "Since you were already dozing on the couch, you should be getting some sleep," he said with a sad smile.

Ali smiled very content that she had chosen now to come out. He looked amazing. But she didnt say anything either. She didnt want to ruin her little treat. If he thought she would be awkward then he would put a shirt on. And she would much rather it be off. She found the bag she had been using and took out her clothes from it and put the dress in carefully.
She then walked over to the other bed and sat down in the middle of it. She crossed her legs indian style and smiled at him. She couldnt keep her gaze off him. But she did pull her eyes away to put the bag down on the side of the bed and then to pull the covers back and fluff up the pillow. But the tiredness had left her at the moment.
So she shook her head and said, "Im not tired. That was a fluke when I fell asleep. No worries. Im good at staying up." She then saw his sad smile and she wondered what was wrong. "Whats the sad smile for?"

Landon grinned keeping his eyes on her as she entered the room with grace, sitting on the other bed her scent caught in his sensitive nose again, his grin widened "nothing," he replied laying back on top of the fluffy sheets his head falling into a cushy pillow, he rolled to his side so he was facing Ali. "So..." he wasn't sure if he should ask. He had been tought manners when he was growing up, his mother told him never to ask a woman's age. Ever. Though he figured this had to break some kind of rule, she was a immortal after all. "I know it's rude to ask, but how old are you?" It was nagging at him, he looked younger than himself, she looked human, but her scent told a different story.
Then it hit him, if he were mostly mortal, he would continue aging as he had since he was turned at eighteen. Eventually he would die.
She wouldn't.
He kept the smile on his face, she seemed to be too intune with his emotions already. He woudn't give it away.

Ali watched as he turned on to his side when he layed down. She remained in her position she was in and chuckled. She then blinked when he asked her age but then the smile returned and she said, "Im 21." She hoped that wouldnt change much. She didnt know how old he was and she hoped he wasnt that much older then her.
She messed with the tips of her hair though and hummed slightly. She smiled at him even though she could sense something was wrong. He was thinking about something sad and she wondered what it was. However...she wasnt brave enough to ask and she figured he would just lie to her.

Age didn't matter much, he just had wondered if she were like a hundred and seventy something, something like that. He was happy when she said she was actually younger than him. She could pass as twenty one perhaps even a bit older than that, in the dress and in his shirt. When he first met her, in her clothing, it made her appear younger.
He sat up so he could take another swig of water, he placed it back down and layed back down content with watching her play with her hair, humming a unfamiliar tune. "So vampires are immortal right?" He questioned, he wanted to know more about what he was dealing with, there were lots of legends, stories hollywood spun for their own needs, but how much was true, "you never age, never die?"
