One year already... Jeremiah sat next to his sister grave. He ran his fingers over the wording on the headstone. R.I.P. Jewel Collins. Perfect Daughter. Jeremiah punched the ground. How could I let this happened? Ever since his sister died, a part of him died. He sighed and leaned against the gravestone, closing his eyes. If only he could find anyone...

Kokia Luxin held a fairly large size basket of flowers; carnations of various colors. She didn't know why, but she'd been going out of her way to place flowers on the graves of those who had died in the past. Especially when she smelled the scent of the living dead and her own kind lingering around the gravestones.
She felt like she owed it to them...like it was some sort of unspoken duty she needed to perform.
Kokia sighed as she knelt down and placed flowers on a headstone that had been the grave of a young man who was murdered by vampires. She knew this because Kia could sense the anguish lingering from this grave, as well the scent of a werewolf. Two graves over Kia placed three flowers on the grave slab where he sensed a Vampire had caressed just days before. Their family was murdered by werewolves.
Ironic how the two victims' races loathed each other...and their loved ones lay only feet away from the other.
One by one, Kokia Luxin placed her flowers on the victims of werewolf and vampire attacks. At each grave, her heart seemed to lurch something awful as she sighed; the gentle feeling of the evening wind kissing her cheeks in the cloak of mid evening wrapped about her.
It was almost time for her to finish her rounds. The last grave was of a young Jewel Collins. She frequently smelled the scent of a werewolf, but from the rumors she'd heard about this young girl, she wasn't murdered by vampires...nor by werewolves. At least that's what the rumors entailed. Kia could be wrong.
As she rounded the corner of the graves nearby, she saw a young and handsome man leaning up against the headstone of Jewel Collins. Quietly Kia watched as he punched the ground in his sadness and sighed, not sure what she should. Another rumor was that Jewel had a brother. Perhaps this man was he?
"Excuse me," she said as the she-wolf knelt down to place the remainder of her carnations on the grave by the young man's knee. They numbered three. Her cerulean eyes glanced at his own orbs before she closed her eyes and tilted her head forward in a respectful half-bow, the scent of a werewolf reaching her nares. "I'm truly sorry for your loss."
Once this statement of condolence had been uttered, Kia stood up from her kneeling stance and stuffed her hands into her pockets before turning to walk away. -Why can't this cycle of violence between our races just...end?-

Jeremiah could since someone coming, a young she-wolf, but he didn't feel like opening his eyes. He smelt flowers. She must be laying them next to the graves. Why she did it, he didn't know. He sensed her getting closer. Maybe the company wouldn't be so bad. He opened his eyes and looked up at her as he laid a flower down by his sisters grave and aplogized for his loss. She began to walk away. "Thank you." He looked towards her, his brown eyes glistening. "For the flower and for your concern." He looked at the flower next to his sisters grave. A lily. "Lilies were her favorite flowers."

At hearing his gratitude, Kia paused in her steps and turned to look over her shoulder at the young man. His eyes were glistening with something unknown; sadness? Regret? She couldn't quite make it out.
When Kia heard him mentioning what her favorite flower was, the she-wolf smiled and nodded while tucking a bit of her jet hair behind her ears. "I shall have to remember to bring lilies for her the next time I come." she said while turning around fully look down at him.
His sadness and loneliness was quite evident. But what could she do other than give this lonely person flowers for his lost one in hopes of easing some of the sadness from his shoulders? Truly Kia wanted to shield the world from pain as it continuously inflicted it upon itself.
But, alas, there was nothing more she could do except kick the asses of those who deserved it in a pathetic attempt to shed light to justice in the world. Kokia was becoming more and more discouraged with her goal to become the symbol of justice for her amazon sisters back in Greece.
Folding her arms across her chest, Kia eyed the grave curiously as her eyes gazed at the young man. "How did she pass?" [/blockquote]

Jeremiah smiled a little when she said she would bring more. "She would like that. I know she would." He brushed the ground and sighed. He than looked back up at the young woman. "We were attacked in an alley. Well, really, they were trying to get her to..you know..." He hated talking about that night, but he knew he had to get it off his chest. "I attacked one of them but than more started coming. I was bitten and couldn't move. My sister tried to get away by kicking but ended up being dropped and broke her skull open..." He closed his eyes after he finished, trying to control his breath. Don't cry...hold yourself together, Jeremiah. There is a lady here. He regained his emotions and looked up at the girl. "What's a young girl like you doing in a graveyard?"

Kia's brows furrowed as she listened to the male's story. So a werewolf had been in the fray and had attacked his sister. That's how he got turned... It was the first time she'd heard a story like that.
It was a wonder that this brute hadn't gone on a killing spree of his own against his own kind. He must have been regretting accepting his fate to becoming a werewolf after all. A soft sigh left her lips and she turned her head to look at him as he addressed her.
He seemed to be struggling in not showing too much of his emotions. "Well, I left my people on a journey to search my purpose in this world. You know, the vigilante justice kinda thing?" she stated with a shrug as a scoffing laugh left her lips. "I thought it only fair to place flowers on the graves of those who have become victimized by the Werefolk and Vampire race alike."
She took a step forward and tilted her head to the side as she placed on hand on her chin and the other rested on her hip. "You know...there's a big bottle of strong liquor missing in this picture right now." Kia stated as she placed both her index fingers and thumbs together to shape a "frame" as she zoomed in and out from the young male's face. "The name's Kokia Luxin. Most call me Kia. How about you?" Jeremiah could see the sympathy on her face. She was the only one he told that story, too. "I know what you mean. I couldn't stay with my family anymore but different reasons. Couldn't see them when they found my sister and if I was too close, they would make me come back home and only God knows what would happen than." He sighed and picked up the lily, smelling it. "I hid in the shadows at my sisters funeral. It killed me not being able to say what I wanted to say. So, I come here and tell her my life. Tell her how the world is. She was obsessed with the world. Wanted to travel." He laughed at her liquor joke. "I ain't that fond of drinking. Only when I have nightmares. Makes them disappear." He smiled when she gave him her name. That's a gorgeous name. I'm Jeremiah."

The male was simply doing his best to recount his mistakes and accomplishments to his sister. To be able to be so devoted to someone, even after they were gone from this earthy plane, was something that Kia had to commend. His passion and sincerity in his words was something to behold, indeed.
Kia suddenly was envious and wished she wasn't an only child.
At his comment about drinking, the she-wolf snickered and wiggled her brows at him. "Ah, can only hold your liquor when in misery, eh?" she stated while plopping down onto the grass next to him.
As she listened to his compliment about her name, a light blush crowned her cheeks. No one had ever said her name was beautiful. Her mother, Faina, said that it meant "flower." Funny. The top assassin of Otrera's Warriors decided to name her daughter such a soft name...and then trained her to be a fighter as well.
Kia mentally rolled her eyes. -Such genius, Mother.- she mused sarcastically before nodding her head to the werewolf who called himself Jeremiah. "Your name suits you quite well."
A moment of silence passed between the two before Kokia looked up into the sky. She saw that the moon was going to be in its final phase before it turned full later on that month. Looks like she'd be traveling back to Greece within the next few weeks.
"So tell me, Jeremiah...what do you plan on doing now with your life?"

Jeremiah laughed. "Ya. Me+misery=booze." He laughed again. He liked this girl. She made him laugh. He hasn't laughed like this in ages. He saw a blush develop on her cheek and he smiled softly. When she asked him what he was gonna do with his life, he hesitated. What was he going to do. "I...I really don't know. I'm writing right now but I don't think I can live off books for the rest of my life."

So, it was true. He couldn't hold his liquor unless he was miserable. Oh well. So much for challenging him to a drinking contest.
Well...there was always Ali. But she didn't count for shit. After all, she was a vampire and couldn't get drunk if she drank five damn barrels of straight liquor and topped it off with a beer at the end. Just thinking about that crazy girl caused a smirk to form on her lips.
When Kia heard Jeremiah laugh, it was hearty and pure. Something she never expected a male to exhibit since growing up with all women. Would wonders never cease?
Jeremiah mentioned writing and Kia shrugged at his comment about not making a living off of it. "Hey, you never know. You could be like that other English broad who came up with that Harry Potter character...what was her name? J.K. Rowling wasn't it?" Her brows furrowed in thought before she shook her head and pulled one of her knees up to prop her elbow on it while looking at Jeremiah. "In any case, you shouldn't give up on yourself just before getting fully started, y'know? Besides..." Kia paused before wiggling her brows teasingly. "You don't look like an incompetent bloke. I'm sure you'll do just fine." [/blockquote]

He laughed at her jokes. "I just write poetry books. I'm trying to save up money to be able to go to school. But what I'm gonna do there, only time could tell." What was he supposed to say? He was a depressed 18 year old werewolf who lived in a small apartment and wrote poetry. He shook his head and looked at Kia. "How about you? What do you want to do with your life?"

School? It sounded like a good idea. Too bad school wasn't exactly Kia's cup of tea. She had gotten all the education she needed back in Greece with all those female werewolves.
Strange. She should have been a bit resentful of her mother for turning her into a werewolf. However, it wasn't like it was an off put tradition. Everyone in the tribe had gone through the same thing.
When asked what she wanted to do with her life, Kia only chuckled and shrugged. "Kick ass, I guess." she said, turning to look at the look of confusion that was practically expected to be plastered on Jeremiah's face. "To be honest, I don't really know what I want to do with my life. Mom wants me to take over the Luxin Clan back in our tribe in Greece..."
She pulled both of her knees up to her chest and hugged her legs as she propped her chin on them. "I've only ever been good at fighting...sad, isn't it?"

Jeremiah gave her a strange look. "Fighting? Like as an assassian? Or what?" He looked at her. "Have you only known life as a werewolf?" "Being a fighter sounds cool." He nudged her and smiled.

Kokia shook her head and smirked. "No, I just prefer beating the living shit out of people. Killing isn't something I'm fond of, which is why I'm a bounty hunter back in the States." she said, resting her chin back on her forearms. "The pay is good and I get my kicks out of beating criminals up. What more can a girl ask for, eh?"
Chuckling at her own silliness, Kia quirked a brow at being asked if the life of a werewolf was all she'd ever known. Was it? Yes, it was. She'd known what all her amazon sisters were; seen their transformations. However, to solidify her journey into the realm of the Werefolk, Kia was not told that she was to be turned as well.
Not only that...she hadn't expected her own mother to deliver the blow to change her into what she was now.
A sigh escaped her lips and she nodded. "Yes...I suppose you could say something like that." was all Kia could say.
Jeremiah had lightened the mood once more by stating that being a fighter was cool. Kia only smirked and shrugged again, allowing one of her hands to run through her dark tresses as her blue eyes peered back at his own dark pools. "I won't lie to you and say that I don't enjoy delivering a good ass kicking sometimes...but I will admit, even mother thinks I'm going to have a difficult time finding someone I wish to create a new life with." At this, Kia allowed the hand that was entangled in her hair to slide down in between her stomach and legs so she could press her palm against her tummy.
Children...would she ever have them?

Jeremiah nodded. "Ya. I was like that once. Someone messes with you or your friends give them the royal beating." She looked sad when she talked about having the life of only a werewolf and not knowing if she would find the one for her. He sat closer to her. "How old were you when you were changed? And don't worry young one, you'll find a mate."
