Nathaniël smiled back. "We don't have to hide who we are. It's just something we tend to do to feel more safe, and anyway if we would let everyone know what and who we really are...that'll just spoil the big surprise." Nathaniël said with a grin on his face. "Feeling alone and cut off isn't that bad all the time, or at least not for me. Unfortunately that feeling will always stay, even when surrounded by millions." He said to Arabella.

Arabella laughed.
"I guess that would ruin it, wouldn't it?" she grinned, but then sighed again.
"I know. I'm fairly used to it now, but even so, after hundreds of years, I still feel lonely sometimes..." her voice trailed off as she tried to grasp the feeble memories of her human life. It was ever so light, only traces were left, but they were there, just hidden away...

A car drove through the near empty street. The street was only filled by two persons, two vampires. Standing there talking about the lives they lived. Nathaniël looked up at the sky which had started to lighten up. "I ignore the feeling of being lonely. Besides if it's quiet around me it makes it all the more clear." Nathaniël looked back at the girl, Arabella. "But never mind that, it didn't come out clear anyway." Nathaniël smiled. "It's getting early, sun will be rising shorty. I guess it's time to leave." He said to her.

Arabella watched as the car passed by, and then turned her eyes back onto the man in front of her. She smiled.
"I suppose. It was interesting talking to you," she said.
"I hope to meet you again, on some dark night," she added with a roughish grin, holding out her hand.

"That might just happen, if you make another turn on some street." Nathaniël said to Arabella. He turned around and walked away. More people got outside, starting their everyday lives again. Nathaniël walked through the streets before returning to his apartment. Watching the humans pass by or prepare to go to work inside their homes. 'Nice girl...' He thought as he was on his way back to his apartment. Nathaniël stood by the front door and opened it, before going inside he looked up at the sky once more and sighted as he walked inside.

Arabella watched him leave as the sky lightened and people began their everyday activities.
'Maybe... just maybe... we might meet again...' she thought as she turned around and made her way through the growing crowd of people, unaware of the supernatural things that goes on right under their noses.
They continued their lives, on the streets of London.

Nathaniël walked to the curtains and closed them before the sun light started to rise. He thought some more about the stuff that had happened and drank from a last blood pack he had saved for moments like these. After a while he had enough from it all and needed some rest.
The next night Nathaniël was thirsty again, thirsty for more then the blood from a old blood pack. He got outside and walked for a bit. The streets were still filled with people, which made finding the right prey easy. Nathaniël sneaked up on some young lady walking the streets all alone. "Hello there, are you lost?" He asked the women who obviously didn't see him walk beside her. "No, no not really." She said and started walking faster. "Can you maybe help me then? I am lost." Nathaniël asked and put up a smile on his face. "Where do you need to go?" The women asked him as she started to walk on a regular speed again. "I'm looking for a blood donor. Have you seen any?" Nathaniël said to her. The women looked shocked back at Nathaniël, she didn't know what to say anymore. "A b-blood donor?" She stuttered out quietly. "Yes..." Nathaniël smiled at the women and showed her his fangs. The women tried to run, but Nathaniël was too fast as he grabbed the women and pulled her into the small alley they were in front of. "Cheers." Nathaniël said as he started feeding from the women.
After a short while Nathaniël walked out of the alley on the other side. "Oops." He said. "Seems like I forgot something." There was a small bit of blood on the side of his mouth slowly sliding down. "Refreshing." He said after he had licked it away. Nathaniël looked around the street where he was standing on now. 'That way, it's a long walk from here.' He thought and started walking down the street.

The sound of voices, and the smell of blood.
Arabella whipped around, looking frantically through the nighttime crowd. She knows that voice... that man, Nathaniël, from the night before. And that awful stench of human blood.
'Damn it. I didn't ask last night whether he fed on people or not...' she thought frustratedly as she weaved through the people, unseen because of her speed. She came to a dead stop a few feet from an alley, where the silhouette of a man walked out of it. Arabella wrinkled her nose, the smell of human blood was overwhelming. She watched as he licked away a bit of blood trickling down the side of his mouth and began to walk away.
Arabella had half a heart to go and stop him, but her feet wouldn't move. When finally, she got her feet to follow her directions, they walked forward, to the mouth of the alley. Arabella peeked in. The bloodless body of a young woman was lying there, obviously killed by a vampire.
Arabella did the only thing she could do at that point. She ran. She ran passed Nathaniël, not even bothering say sorry when she smashed into him. She kept running. It had been such a long time since she'd seen something like that. It brought back horrible memories from the night.... that night... the night that she was made into a vampire...

Nathaniël looked up at the girl, Arabella, who smashed into him. 'The poor girl.' He thought. 'I gave up on caring for a human soul a long time ago, but obviously some still care about one more or less. Unfortunately...' Nathaniël followed the girl for a short while, but it seemed useless the girl didn't seem to stop anywhere for now and Nathaniël was going away from his goal. "Goodbye." He said to the girl. Not wondering whether or not Arabella had heard him he moved on into the night.
The streets were still filled with humans, some even with young children. 'Energetic as always.' He thought looking at a young boy jumping around. Nathaniël walked some more wondering what Arabella made her the way she was now. 'Obviously something happened to her in her early days or years as a vampire. But what?' He thought to himself wondering if he could think of an answer to the question.
A while later Nathaniël arrived at a quite large mansion. On the street in front of it weren't any streetlights and so the garden in front of the house was dark and covered with shadows. Nathaniël walked to the gate, it was locked. He got a key out of his pocket and opened it with a grin on his face.

Arabella kept running. No human saw her, but she was sure she caught a few other vampires staring at her as she whooshed pass.
When she finally stopped, she was completely lost. The only thing in sight was a huge mansion with iron wrought gates, chained together with a heavy lock. Arabella looked around, there didn't seem to be anyone around, so she sat down where she stood and closed her eyes, burying her face in her hands.
Flashes of her human-life flickered on and off behind her eyes.
Her fiance's face as she was murdered by the faceless vampire. The screams of her guests echoing in her ears as she stared wildly around, unable to move from fright.
It was all too much. A wrangled sob escaped Arabella's lips as a stream of tears rolled down her face.
Why? Why'd it have to end like that? And Luthifer... she loved him so much....
WHY?!

Nathaniël stepped into the dark garden. It was obvious no one had been living here for many years by the looks of all the plants growing out of the ground everywhere. Nathaniël walked forward into the shadows of the trees. He looked up at the mansion, the windows were dark as if nothing was inside. It was quiet, very quiet. Even for a dark night it was quiet, no sound of any creature. No sound of leaves being moved by the wind.
Nathaniël walked up to the front door of the mansion and opened it. He walked into a large hall, some doors leading to rooms and a large stairway to the next floor. The interior looked old and hadn't been cleaned for quite some time now. The mansion was Nathaniëls. He had lived, but mostly killed, here for many years.

When Arabella's sobs finally quieted down, she lifted her head and looked around. There again was the huge mansion. She could have swore she saw someone walking up to the front door and going inside. But they were no longer there now.
She cautiously walked up to the front gates and peered inside. The mansion was large, and judging by the dark windows, fairly empty. And if there was someone living in it, they liked the dark very much.
Arabella stood there for a few seconds, wondering what to do. Should she knock and see if anyone's home, or should she walk away? Finally, she decided to find out if anyone lived here. After all, it wasn't everyday that you come across a huge mansion that seemed deserted.
So, she gently lifted the knocker and knocked a few times on the gate.

Nathaniël looked around the mansion and wasn't surprised to see it's current state. He knew no one would ever come here, unlike the apartment.
Just as he was walking to the main living room he heard knocks on the gate. Nathaniël turned around and walked to a window, from where he looked outside. 'Interesting...it's you again.' He thought as he stood in the dark room. It took a short while before Nathaniël knew what he would do, wondering what will happen when the girl found out he was living here. That is unless she saw him go here, and so Nathaniël decided to walk to the door and slowly open it, waiting for some respond of the girl who had just ran away from him because of a kill, he thought to be the reason.
When the door was open he stepped out of the dark hall and walked outside a bit. "Hello there, Arabella." He said to the vampire standing at the gate.

Arabella froze. It was Nathaniël. The vampire who had just murdered an innocent woman for his thirst.
"I-it's you! I d-didn't know..." Arabella stuttered. She blinked, wondering what to do. What does one say to a vampire they'd just run away from?
"Erm... hi... again. I didn't know you have another place... do you live here too?" she asked.

Nathaniël walked closer to the gate and smiled at Arabella. "Yes, this is my house and the other was just a mere shelter for when needed. And it functions as a lookout post of some sort, I just needed to be there for a while to see how things are going in London." Nathaniël said, he turned around and looked at his mansion for a while. "You can't really see much from here, as you might have noticed." He then said while looking at the high trees standing in his garden covering up most of the view even from the highest tops of his mansion.
"So...what was that all about earlier?" Nathaniël asked Arabella. "It is just the way of life..."
