Dani had finally found the urge to get up and do some exploring of her new surroundings, she'd woken up at eight a.m and ate her breakfast alone her parents were already gone, probably working or making there way there. For about an hour Dani laid around debating on what to do exactly with the day that lay ahead of her. I could read, wait no I did that yesterday. Oh I could watch movies...nope that's right did that the day before. she thought to herself while laying face up on her bed. Dani groaned with boredom and let out a sigh before sitting up and looking around her room a few boxes still piled up in the corner that she hadn't unpacked yet. I could unpack some more, but that would mean I'd be admitting I could find nothing better to do. Screw it its time to go out she thought to herself while giving the enemy boxes an evil glare.
Dani took her shower and got dressed in a pair of faded blue jeans, a t-shirt that did not flatter her figure at all, some dirty old tennis shoes and was out the door before eleven a.m. Dani unlocked her new to her silver 2000 Chevy cavalier and got inside, sorely missing her Taurus she'd owned back home. After driving around and seeing some sights for a while Dani stopped to get herself a late lunch noting it was already three p.m how she hadn't noticed the time before then was beyond her. Since she was new to the area, Dani asked the woman at the counter where else she should visit and smiled when the woman suggested the English Channel. After getting her food and thanking the woman Dani set out to find the place. Not too much later she pulled into a parking lot and got out deciding to take her lunch and walk beside the channel to think it seemed like a beautiful place to do so.
After walking a ways from the parking lot Dani sat herself down and pulled out her lunch taking a bite of the sandwich. The sun sparkled off of the water and Dani let out a sigh, she always hated being alone but lately it was worse since moving. Everyone she'd ever known were thousands of miles away and as she watched the water she wondered what everyone was doing. Though Dani tried to keep her mind off of Desmond she'd always found herself thinking about him she was still angry at him for leaving her nothing but a note, in her mind she would curse him for just abandoning her for some mutt. In the back of her mind Dani thought it was very romantic that the two had run away together and she'd hoped they were happy but that didn't help the fact that she felt like he just left her unprotected after telling her what he was and what really existed in the world.
Dani ate only half of her sandwich, feeling like she couldn't finish the rest. Well this was stupid. Hey lets go sit all alone and think of the friends you no longer have and feel sorry for yourself. ALL ALONE. Good going Dani. she thought laughing inwardly at herself for actually coming out. Dani thought about getting up and leaving but still she just sat there looking out at the water not paying attention to the time, hoping maybe everything was just a bad dream and she'd wake up in her old him back in Washington with all her old friends.

Codie breathed in the fresh air as she walked along side Desmond. Her nose was rather sensitive despite being in human form, she could pick up most scents surrounding where they stood, not quite as strongly as she could in wolf form but she could tell what was on a little boy's sandwich who sat a distance away peanut butter and pickled sandwiches? gee kid, that's just disgusting she thought as she wrinkled her nose a little at the thought. Codie loved her food, but obviously not as much as that boy. She turned her attention back to something that didn't bother her, Desmond. His Vampire scent was growing on her and oddly enough she was actually starting to like it a little bit. She smiled up at him, giving his hand a squeeze as she did so. Codie was still over the moon that he had forgiven her the previous night before, she had that moment play over and over in her head during her nap she had that day. It felt like one of the best sleeps she had had in weeks.
The two of them had decided to take a romantic stroll once the sun had gone down that day and Codie couldn't be happier walking along hand in hand with her future. She felt a cool breeze blow through her hair, so far what she had seen of England she loved and wasn't missing Seattle at all. " Lucky there's no full moon out tonight" Codie thought aloud, so far their life together had been perfect and she didn't want it spoiled by the likes of the moon... despite how beautiful it was. She hadn't broken it to Desmond yet and wasn't even sure if he knew that once the full moon was in the sky she had no control over herself like she would on any other given day. Thankfully now being a qualified Vet she was able to bring a large metal cage along with her... she wasn't prepared to wake up in the morning to find that she had hurt someone or worse, killed them. The cage wasn't only for her own protection.
Codie had been so preoccupied thinking about full moons that she hadn't even noticed they had stopped walking, jolting her back to reality. She gave Desmond a gentle kiss on the lips " I'm sorry Dessie" she told him sincerely. She was so off with the fairies during a few minutes of their walking time and knew it more than likely didn't go unnoticed by Desmond. Codie glanced behind him soon enough to notice a young blond girl sit down beside the water, " pretty girl" Codie pointed out, " I wonder how she gets her hair so soft" She may be a tomboy but on the odd occasion she noticed things like that.

Desmond walked along the channel hand in hand with Codie as a light sea breeze brushed through his hair. The sun had finally set and Desmond wanted to take a walk with Codie along the channels he used to visit on occasion when he was just a little tyke. He remembered tempting fate along these channels as him and his friends would often leap into the them attmepting to try and outbrave the others. He came back to the moment and noticed Codie had her nose wrinkled at something. He wasn’t sure if she still was repulsed by his smell or not and wondered if it was him that caused her nose to wrinkle in disgust. He knew that her smell no longer bothered him at all but rather comforted him. Sure she still smelled like a mutt and all .......but she was a very cute mutt. She was HIS mutt. “You don’t like the new cologne? It’s the new vampire trend. It’s called Eau Du Death.” He flashed a smile her way as they continued to walk at a leisurely pace along the channel.
Codie made a fleeting comment about it being lucky there wasn’t a full moon out and Desmond chuckled thinking she was throwing a joke back at him in return for his vampire cologne remark. “Why’s that? We could howl at it together.” He laughed at this but Codie didn’t seem to have heard him. She had drifted off into her own thoughts and he wondered what was on her mind. Did it have something to do with the full moon thing? He never thought much about how the whole werewolf thing worked for Codie. He hadn’t even seen her change yet. If it wasn’t for the smell of dog cascading off of her he would have thought she was a normal human being. He slowed to a stop for a moment as he considered the fact that she must have missed her family. She had left her entire life behind for him and he knew she must be worrying about them. She came back to moment as she realized they had stopped walking and apologized for visiting LaLa land before kissing him. “No worries love.”
She nodded behind him as she mentioned something about a beautiful girl but Desmond didn’t turn to look at who she was talking about. He had eyes only for Codie and let them trace over her beautiful features for the thousandths time. She was perfection at its finest and he would never get tired of looking at her. He pulled her close to him, wrapping his arms about her waist as he did so. “Not as pretty as my girl.” He gave her a quick peck on the lips before bringing up her parents. “You know Codie, I was thinking you should give your parents a call. I bet you they're putting Lost Dog posters all over Seattle.” He chuckled as he pulled his cell phone from his pocket. “Here, you can use my cell. It may be hard to hear over the waves but at least they’ll know that you’re alright. I’ll give you a moment alone, I’ll be right over by the water.” He kissed her again before she headed away from the crashing sound of the waves to call her family. He turned to head towards the water and couldn’t resist laughing heartily at the irony of who he saw. The woman Codie was referring to as being pretty was none other than Dani. Desmond had spent a great deal of time with Dani back in Seattle throughout the time that Codie was gone. Dani was what anchored him to reality as he tried to sort things out with Codie. He wasn’t sure what exactly she was doing here and couldn’t pass up the moment to surprise her. He quietly crept up close behind her before finally speaking. “Just can’t get enough of me could you kid? You followed me all the way to England. “Desmond chuckled as he saw his little friend turn around in surprise. “Hello, Dani. It's good to see you.”

Codie hadn't noticed that Desmond saw the look on her face until she heard him speak, realizing he must've thought it was him that was bothering her, " oh no, it's not you... It's just some people have terrible taste when it comes to food" she nodded in the direction of the little boy. She smiled at him before adding cheekily, " and I'm liking the cologne, it's very you" Codie giggled at her own joke before getting lost in her thoughts again, she had just barely heard what Desmond had to say next about her comment on the moon before asking, " aawwww, you'd really do that for me?" she laughed at the thought of the two of them howling at the moon together. Truth be told though she was actually rather worried about her family back in Seattle... she never wanted to go back, but the thought of them worrying about her burnt a hole in her heart. One she had tried so desperately to cover up but Desmond always seemed to know when something wasn't right with her.
It didn't go unnoticed to her either that when she mentioned there was a pretty girl standing right behind him that Desmond didn't turn around. Instead he remained completely focused on her, like no one else even existed. She blushed as he pulled her in closer to him as he told her no one could look as pretty as her. About a million butterflies somehow found their way into Codie's stomach and chest at that moment as she softly kissed him. Codie was rather taken back at what Desmond had said to her next, he had mentioned calling her parents. It wasn't a bad idea... infact it was rather a very good idea. She hadn't spoken to her parents since leaving, she'd left a note but she knew that wouldn't be enough for them. For all Codie knew her brothers were probably trying to track her right now. She tried to contain a laugh as Desmond mentioned them putting up lost dog posters, " as long as they used a photo of my good side" she replied as he handed her his phone. She smiled adoringly at him before wrapping her arms around him giving him a gentle kiss, " Thank you Desmond, you're sweet" she told him. Codie didn't want to leave his side but she knew she needed to do this alone. She headed as far away as she could so the noise of the waves didn't make it as difficult to hear before dialing her old home number, feeling slightly strong enough to tell her parents the truth. With each ring she got more and more nervous, biting her bottom lip. I've always been the good girl she thought to herself, I wonder how 'Hi dad, it's okay I just ran away with my new boyfriend, who by the way... is a vampire' is going to go?.

Dani was so preoccupied looking at the water that she barely heard the man speak to her at first. Snapping back to reality Dani noticed the sky had turned dark, she couldn't even guess the time. When she turned to see who was talking to her, if her eyes could pop out of their sockets no doubt what so ever they would. When Desmond said that it was good to see her again Dani quickly leap to her feet and crashed into Desmond locking her little arms around his waist she didn't know if he was just some figment her imagination conjured or what but for that split second she just couldn't help herself.
"I didn't know you were here, I just my family we had to move and we came here, I just didn't.. you didn't say where you were going...." she tried to get out a completely sentence but she was just to shocked, never had she expected to see him again, she stood there for a few seconds more her arms wrapped around him holding him as tightly as she could but it still wouldn't be tight enough. When her head finally caught up to reality she quickly pushed herself away and looked up at him, her eyes showed many things. One being hurt, another being anger, and there was fear Dani now knew what he was but fear was just a tiny part the hurt and anger were so much more. Dani's eyes narrowed and she pointed her finger at him 'You...how can you just show up here and use that crappy charm you use and think that everything is going to be all hey and you look good, how you been and all that buddy buddy stuff. " she took a breath and before Desmond could say anything she started up again this time her voice was a few octaves higher.
"You! You left me a note! You didn't even say good bye to me in person, you just wrote a note and stuck it in my mail box explaining what you were and that you were in love running off with a werewolf. I mean who the hell does that! I thought you were my friend! I thought you cared about me! I liked you and I trusted you! You couldn't even tell me who the hell you really were." by this point tears had been pooling up into her eyes, but still she continued this time in a quieter tone so no one would over hear but her voice was thick with anger
"and on that note, am I not appealing to you I mean your a vampire for god sakes but yet you took one look at me and helped me instead of eating me! I mean unless the movies and books got this wrong don't vampires drink blood. What is mine expired like bad milk or something? I wasn't good enough for you or are you one of those vampires that hook on their prey by charming them into liking you only this time your plan got messed up and instead of killing me you just left me alone scared of what is really out there. You just left me alone and helpless, hurt and angry, Scared and I know I said it but HURT." she yelled out at him before turning and beginning to stomp off a few feet before turning around to face him. "This would be so much better if I smacked you like in the movies for being an ass but I'm pretty sure it would only hurt me." she added with a huff and began to walk away again not sure how far she'd get before he stopped her psh if he cared enough to stop me and explain. she thought bitterly in her mind.

Desmond followed the direction of Codie’s nod to a heavy set little lad eating a sandwich with some VERY unusual mix of toppings on the inside. He let his own nose wrinkle as well as he breathed in the smell of peanut butter and pickles…...two things that he was quite certain didn’t mix well together. “That’s plain out nasty. The kid must have taste buds of steel.” He shook his head in awe at what people ate in this day and age. When he was younger cooking was considered an art form and never would someone whip together something as crude as a peanut butter and pickled sandwich. It would be considered offensive to whomever you were serving it to.
Desmond smiled as Codie asked if he’d really howl with her. He took a moment to contemplate it in case she was serious and they’d be spending the next full moon looking like fools as they barked at the moon. He finally decided he would if she INSISTED he did so. “Sure, it could be fun I suppose. You may have to show me how the whole bark thing goes though. We vampires generally just hiss and flash the fangs…we don’t generally bark.” He gave Codie a playful nudge as he said this. He couldn’t contain another smile as she said he was sweet for thinking about calling her parents. He watched her admiringly from the backside as she walked away to give the parent’s a quick ring. It reminded him of the day he had spotted her at the marina in Seattle as she jogged along the water’s edge in her sweats.
Dani looked extremely happy to see him and wrapped her arms around his waist before going into a jumble of uncompleted sentences as she tried to overcome her surprise. He loved the look on people’s faces when they encountered something they hadn’t been expecting with such a mixture of contrasting emotions that he reveled in being able to witness. He really had missed have Dani around and it was good to see his little friend again. His life now seemed to truly be complete with not only Codie by his side but now his closest friend Dani. He was a bit taken aback when she pushed him away suddenly as she said his charm wouldn’t work now and that he can’t just show up like that. “Well, to be fair—“ Desmond began but never got to finish as she launched into another flurry of irritated statements regarding him leaving her nothing but a note. He had to admit that he should have met with her in person but the wolves in the area were already testy about him hanging around Dani and telling her all about both their kind wouldn’t of went over too well with them. Desmond really hadn’t thought the entire thing through and just quickly wrote out a note to Dani explaining what he was and where he now was.
Desmond remained quiet as Dani let all her frustration out. People needed to vent sometimes and he figured he’d wait till she was done before apologizing; besides, she was too cute when she was angry. Desmond noticed her eyes fill with tears and felt terrible about up and leaving on such short notice. He couldn’t help laughing in disbelief however as she asked if she wasn’t good enough to be vampire food or something. He understood the whole leaving her nothing but a note as he ran away forever thing but she was actually upset at him for not wanting to kill her? He chuckled heartily at the girl’s logic. She mentioned wishing she could slap him before turning on her heels and walking in the opposite direction.
Desmond smoothly moved in front of her and she all but ran into him as he suddenly blocked her exit route. He figured now was his chance to finally speak. “First off, to be fair I showed up here before you……so I didn’t suddenly appear to make your life a living hell or anything like that kid. I’m sorry I only left you a note alright? I wanted to tell you in person but the whole thing wasn’t planned through and the wolfies were already edgy about our little movie night. Remember your new friend Josh? The guy who crashed the movie night? He just so happened to be one of the wolf boys who hated my guts. I was going to tell you everything that night but you invited the big bad wolf and the little human vamp hater along as well.” Desmond smiled patiently at her as he allowed her a few moments to soak up what he had just said. “As far as the whole expired milk thing………..that’s just ridiculous. You’re not on the menu because I try to keep the best items OFF of the menu. Since I have a more……humane diet I generally stay away from the more delectable tastes of human blood.” Desmond put his hands out to his sides as a sign of peace. "Now if you still want to slap me you can give it a go if you'd like."

When Desmond chuckled at what she was saying she got even angrier then before. He thinks the fact that he left is funny... what the hell she thought, her body felt like it was on fire she was so angry with him. Part her brain was trying to figure out what would cause a vampire pain but not actually kill him just enough pain that he felt bad but truth was she knew nothing. When she tried walking away, Desmond must have used one of his vampire abilities because she nearly ran smack dab into him. Stupid no good vampire with your stupid unfair vampy speediness. she thought bitterly in her head and she crossed her arms and kept her eyes narrowed in anger.
Desmond then began to take his turn in trying to explain, part of her was happy he cared enough to stop her and tell his side of the story but the other part only wanted to deck him good and then go home and never leave her room again. Desmond began by saying he hadn't come to England to ruin her life, and that he was sorry he only left her a note, but that the wolves were already pissed off enough at him because of their movie night. Desmond went on to explain about Josh being one of the wolves who had it out for him and that he was going to tell her the night of the movies if she hadn't invited Alec and Josh to stay and enjoy the movie as well.
Dani thought for a moment, Alec was already at her house that day helping her study for her math class that she sucked at and it wasn't like she could be rude and kick him out, but Alec's friend Josh showing up was unexpected however Dani was the kind of girl who thought the more the merrier most of the time. Now that she knew what Josh was she wished she'd told him to go away. Dani's face softened slightly feeling bad that she'd made plans with Desmond but didn't tell him about inviting Alec, when she looked back up at Desmond and noticed him smile she felt her heart betray her it began to speed up and beat slightly harder. Even back in Washington she had a crush on him, stupid as it was she still liked him. Moments later Desmond continued on with his explanation and Dani was able to calm her heart.
Desmond went on to explain to her it wasn't that Dani wasn't appetizing but that he tried to stay away from human blood. Dani made an 'O' shape with her mouth and her cheeks flushed red slightly, Dani didn't even think about the fact that Desmond didn't eat people. The truth was she didn't know much about real vampires or werewolves, she didn't know if the movies had it pegged correctly or if they were totally wrong about it all. When Desmond said she could hit him if she liked she rolled her eyes.
"How do I know your telling me the truth about any of these things? I mean how do I know if vampires have weird powers of mind control and your just trying to get me to not be mad at you?" Dani questioned, she knew her face didn't hold the same angry glare as earlier but she was still down right pissed about the whole thing. "I mean you could have called after you left but you just forgot about me. I was scared to be around people because I didn't know if they were people or something else. I mean are all vampires like you or do most of them drink human blood like in the movies. I want to forgive you Desmond I really do and pretend like nothing ever happened but didn't you care if I got hurt? I mean you told me this big huge secret that if anyone found out I'm sure I'd probably be on someone's hit list, yet you left me defenseless to run away with some girl!" Dani said tears actually started to fall from her eyes and trailed down her cheeks, she plopped herself on the ground and began trying to wipe them away upset that she was letting it happen.

Dani’s features seemed to soften for a moment as she considered what he said but she was still skeptical about whether he was being sincere or not. Desmond knew being a vampire granted him the very useful ability to make Dani believe him but it was an unfair thing to do to her, especially after already ditching her in Seattle. It looked like he was going to have to do this the old fashioned way, the honest way. He crossed his arms across his chest as he responded. “Well for starters if I was using mind control powers on you than you’d believe me by now instead of questioning my sincerity.” He flashed another grin her way before continuing. “And I do care kid. It was a last minute decision but that doesn’t mean I left any ends untied. I knew the wolves would protect you. Josh didn’t even like the idea of ME hanging around you so I’m sure he’d have a patrol around your house and make dog chow out of any other vamps. “ Desmond noticed tears begin to fall thickly down her face and he pulled her into a quick hug. “I’m sorry Dani. I’ll make it up to you.” He said this sincerely as he possibly could. He knew he’d have to work at earning her trust back but he was up for the challenge. Dani was a great friend to him and he didn’t want to ruin a perfectly good friendship over a silly note.
She asked him about what other vampires were like and if they all were like Desmond in that fact that they didn't harm humans. Desmond shook his head somberly at that. "I'd like to say yes kid but I can't. Let's just say not all vamps are on the same diet plan as me." He didn't want to scare Dani but he wouldn't lie to her either. It was good to know that she lived close by now though and that he could keep an eye on her to make sure she was alright.
He hated seeing her so upset but not nearly as much as he hated the fact that he was the cause of it. Had he more time to think things through he never would of left her so unceremoniously. She was quiet for several moments as she sat down on the ground and he couldn’t help but ponder what she was thinking. He was running ideas through his head as to what he could do to make it up to her. Desmond took a seat beside her as he silently waited for her to respond.

Dani smiled slightly as Desmond continued to apologize to her, he told her that if he did use his mind control type powers she'd already have believed him and forgiven him by now. Nope, definitely not using your powers on that one. she thought to herself as she crossed her arms again. Then he continued on by saying he did care and that he was sure that even though she didn't notice it, she was protected by the wolves, that Josh didn't even want Desmond hanging around her let alone any other of his kind.
Taking a deep breath in she tried to process the information, when her tears began to fall Desmond had pulled her into a hug and told her that he'd find a way to make it up to her. As stupid as it was to just forgive someone so quickly, Dani had found most of her anger disappear since they'd been talking. Grant it she was still upset that was a given, and she couldn't trust Desmond right away but she did feel safer with him around. Less like a happy meal just waiting to be picked up. After Dani sat down on the ground Desmond took the seat next to her, Dani gave him a small smile and sighed.
"Your totally not off the hook completely yet you know, you still owe me big time but I guess I can kinda somewhat microscopically understand where your coming from, and why you did what you did." she said while playing with the hem of her jeans. "So I guess i kinda sorta slightly forgive you, plus you do get bonus points for not you know using any stupid unfair vampire advantages on me or anything." she said with a slight chuckle, it was still weird for her to believe in these kinds of things.
"I have a lot of questions for you though, I mean about what you are and about werewolves. Whats it like being a Vampire? I mean is it like in the movies? If you go in the sunlight do you burst into flames? Oh and like does garlic keep you away? What if a human like eats a lot of garlic and then like you bite them, would you you know be all like 'AHHH" and 'GRRR', Oh does your face change when you like vamp out, wait do you vamp out? Oh and holy water, if you touch it do you suddenly go "AHHH IT BURNS!" or is that like a total myth? Do you sleep in a coffin? and can you have sex!? I always wondered how they could in the movies, I mean you don't have to answer thats really personal but wow.... Holy cow your like a supernatural being your totally not supposed to exist. What other stuff can you do!?" she said quietly before taking a breath finally after her ramble, she was so excited and Desmond knew her favorite horror movie creature were vampires she loved them and even wanted to be one growing up.

Desmond grinned widely as Dani said he wasn’t completely off the hook, knowing full well that though he had some trust to build with her he was for the most part off the hook indeed. He was glad she had forgiven him, even if it was only kinda sorta slightly. He missed having good ole Dani around to brighten things up. She was always so bubbly and fun. Desmond gave her a playful push. “Well I guess I’m kinda sorta glad then.”
Dani then dove into a fury of questions that he tried to keep pace with but she was asking one after another without letting him have a chance to even answer. He recalled that she was a huge horror film buff so he assumed that was a part of the fascination of the supernatural she seemed to have. Desmond had forgotten how Dani tended to speak so excitedly and quickly. A laugh couldn’t be contained by him as he tried to process everything she just asked and give an answer to each. “Well, sunlight is definitely a no go. The garlic, holy water, and coffin stuff is all hocus pocus. I personally love a little garlic on my salad. I’m not quite sure what you mean by the whole face changing stuff but my incisor teeth come out to play when I as you said vamp out.” Desmond couldn’t help but smile at her question about vampire love making. “That’s a trickier one. We can still……..well you know…………but our bodies are basically dead so we can’t make a child.” Desmond couldn’t help but let his mind drift to Codie and their future together. He hadn’t even considered if she wanted children. He realized that was one thing he could never be able to give to her and he hated that feeling of not being able to provide her with a child of their own. As if summoned by him thinking of her he saw Codie walking towards them and he looked at her with a tinge of sadness knowing they would never have a child together. The two of them seemed to become in sync now as if they were no longer to separate individuals but rather one heart and mind in two bodies. The child dilemma still nagged at him as he tried to find a solution that did not exist. They could always adopt of course but what poor kid would want a vampire for a father and a werewolf for a mum. He did smile slightly though in anticipation for how Dani and Codie would react to each other. They had never met yet and he knew it could possibly get chaotic when they finally did. Rather than warn Dani of Codie’s approach her decided to let it be a bit of a surprise when Codie suddenly popped out of nowhere. ohoho, I cannot wait to see how this plays out.

It took quite a few rings before Codie heard the phone pick up on the other end, "hey it's Co-" she paused as she realized the person that picked up was actually the answering machine. She listened to it and couldn't help but smile, it was the five of them... her father, mother, two brothers and herself that had left a family message together. Codie remembered back to the time when it was recorded, it took quite a few takes as her brothers were often mucking around too much to be paying attention. She waited for the beep, not really sure what to say. "Hey... It's just me... Codie, I erm. I just thought I'd call you guys to let you know I'm ok... I've... well... the thing is that, I've met someone and I just, need some time to think. Please don't worry about me, I'm fine. I still have my cell phone on me, you can contact me on that when you guys get this... we really should talk... Anyway, I erm... I love you guys, please know that... bye".
Codie sighed as she hung up. It had come to her attention that it was more than likely the reason they didn't pick up was because they were probably out looking for her. Surely though they'll go home eventually and see the message she left for them. Codie leaned back against the wall in thought. She had wanted to tell her parents the truth but found it too difficult to do it via answering machine perhaps when they call back she thought. Codie would've given anything to have her parents accept Desmond when she finally did tell them, but she had a feeling that they more than likely won't being wolves and all. She understood that that was the way wolves were... but she couldn't help but think that if they actually gave him a chance they'd realize he was the sweet, adorable Vampire their daughter was head over heels in love with.
The thought of Desmond bought her back to reality. He was probably waiting patiently for her by the water. Codie loved him dearly, and no matter what her family or anyone else for that matter thought, nothing would ever change that. She headed back in the direction she had walked away from him, and couldn't help but notice he was sitting with the same girl she had previously said was pretty. Does he know her? she thought to herself, a part of her was rather jealous that he was talking to this young girl, but the other half trusted Desmond and knew he wasn't going to try anything... still though, the little jealousy feeling remained. It felt like a longer walk reaching them but when she did, she smiled as she handed Desmond back his phone. She couldn't help but notice something was on his mind but decided to ask him about it later when it was just the two of them. She turned to the girl and despite her jealous feelings and instead of waiting for an introduction from Desmond. Codie smiled at her, extending her hand " Hi, I'm Codie" .

Dani smiled as Desmond laughed at how quickly she rattled off every question she could think of at that point in time, it was just the first time she'd gotten to actually ask anything about the whole vampire thing and she was extremely excited. When he began to answer her questions she took it all in storing it in the vampire file in her mind. Dani frowned at the fact that sunlight was a no go Well that sucks she thought because in her beliefs everyone should be able to enjoy a nice sunny day on a beach somewhere once in a while. However she was fascinated to learn that garlic, holy water and coffins were made up, which meant that a church probably wasn't going to keep a vampire out if someone was trying to get away from said vampire. Desmond didn't understand what she meant by face changing, but said that his incisors came out when he was hunting and Dani found herself trying to study his mouth more than she normally would at this point.
When Desmond began to answer her question about vampires and sex, she felt heat rise to her cheeks turning them a nice Rosy color she was sure. Dani wasn't experienced in the sex department, sure her mother told her about sex, what to expect, what happens and she'd heard her friends gossip about their sex lives but she had yet to do anything more then kiss a boy so the sex topic always embarrassed her slightly she did however find it entertaining to learn that he could in fact perform that deed. "So vampires are the perfect form of birth control if you do want to have sex....interesting" she laughed slightly but then just wished that wouldn't have come out of her mouth in the first place. Dani looked up to notice he was in deep thought and she wondered if it was because of what she had said.
Suddenly out of no where this brunette stopped beside Desmond and handed him a phone, Dani was assuming this was the wolf girl he'd left Washington with and she felt her smile disappear slightly as she looked the woman over. Well, she's pretty thats for sure no wonder he took off with her. I wonder if she has fleas. she thought and her smile reappeared, The girl introduced herself as Codie and held out her hand. "Hi...I'm Danielle, most of my friends just call me Dani though." she said very politely and shook the other girls hand, even if all she wanted to do was ignore her and continue her conversation with Desmond. "You must be the woman, Desmond decided to run off with from Washington." Dani added trying to keep upbeat but she noticed that her voice sounded slightly bitter.

Desmond noticed Dani blush at the topic of sex which confused him because she was the one who brought it up in the first place. He barely heard her joke about vampires being the perfect birth control as he was lost in his thoughts about Codie. It was a good joke on Dani’s part and generally he would be joining her in laughter but it bothered him that he would never be able to have a child with Codie and he didn’t find anything funny about that at all. He gave Dani a weak smile once he realized that he hadn’t showed any signs of acknowledgement to her comment. “Uhm, sorry Dani. Just have a lot on my mind. It was a good joke but I’m not exactly ecstatic about the idea of never being able to have a family of my own.”
Codie handed Desmond his phone as she arrived and made quick work of introducing herself to Dani. He wasn’t sure if she was just genuinely being friendly or if she was simply making it clear to Dani that her and him was a couple. Desmond was glad that so far no one was pulling each other’s hair out and that the introductions were rolling along smoothly. Then Dani made the comment about Codie being the woman he ran off with and he noticed her tone had a tinge of bitterness to it. oh no, here we go. Desmond intentionally made sure he was casually between the two just in case. It wasn’t that he was expecting them to get into a brawl or anything like that but he could feel the tension already and better to be safe than sorry. The whole situation reminded him of when you brought a puppy home to a dog you already had and crossed your fingers in hopes they got along. He would be enthralled if the love of his life and his best friends could get along but it was already off to a rocky start. All he could do was sit tight and hold his breath, figuratively of course since he didn’t exactly need to breath as a vampire.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OCC: Sorry it's so short. Really just filling things in to lead up to Codie's post.
" It's nice to meet you Danielle" Codie spoke as politely as she could trying to not make it TOO obvious that she had called her Danielle instead of Dani. She couldn't help but notice the bitterness in the other girls' voice but she didn't let it bother her, instead she kept her polite act up and smiled, " I hope so" she replied with a slight laughter in her voice as if she was joking... although she was far from it, " I mean he hasn't mentioned any other women since I arrived" Codie shot Desmond a slight look, she wanted to know how he knew this girl and what her problem was with her. Codie could tell Dani was human, she could smell it now that she was closer to her which only bought up more questions she was eager to ask Desmond. Why is he hanging around a little human girl? she couldn't help thinking.,, It was a little odd to her. Codie also couldn't help but wonder if Desmond had told this girl what he really was. Surely not she thought, It's not as though you can go around advertising it to the entire World, especially not to a defenseless child.
Codie could still feel the jealous side of her taking over and she didn't like it. She had refused to get like that, especially since on the odd occasion her jealousy turned to anger, which also on the odd occasion didn't exactly end well. She'd learnt to control her Wolfie self and deep down she knew even if she couldn't she wouldn't be able to harm Dani... it just wasn't in her nature. It wasn't a fair fight and one thing Codie believed in was a fair fight. She was starting to feel rather bitter herself now and in a way wished she was still on the phone... even if it was to the answering machine than to be standing here having a conversation was Dani, a girl who quite clearly didn't like her. Codie had noticed that Desmond gradually made his way in between the two of them, she smiled at him as if to say she wasn't going to start anything so he had nothing to worry about. Besides if she wanted to she knew she could. She felt Desmond may possibly underestimate her a little bit... she'd had a lot of dramas with men in the past but it didn't mean she was about to throttle a girl she knew nothing about. " So, how do you two know each other?" she asked deciding to not bother waiting until she had Desmond alone. She wanted to know now, although her voice was more calm and collective than how she really felt inside.
Dani smiled when Codie said it was nice to meet her, though she noticed that instead of saying Dani, Codie had used Danielle. It didn't faze her in the least that she chose her full name, Dani wasn't sure if she wanted Codie and her to be on a friendship based anything yet. When Codie said that she hoped she had been the woman Desmond had run off with because he hadn't mentioned any other to her Dani felt whatever smile she had disappear and she bit her bottom lip uncomfortably. Well its not like he mentioned Codie to you either until you read that damn note. Maybe he doesn't like to talk about his friends... she thought still hurt slightly at the fact that he hadn't mentioned anything at all about her.
Dani looked up at Desmond, wondering if he would have ever mentioned her if it weren't for him bumping into her tonight. Sure its not like they dated but Desmond had been one of her best friends even if it was for a short time, she was happy to tell people about him, or what she could tell about him anyways. Dani didn't exactly like to show her emotions but she knew there was nothing she could do to stop them, she always had worn her heart on her sleve and she was positive the hurt showed in her eyes. Dani watched as Desmond casually slipped between the two of them almost like he was expecting a slight chick fight, and it almost made Dani smile return. The thought of her fighting a werewolf was absolutely hilarious, Dani couldn't help wonder though if he was protecting her from Codie or Codie from herself.
Would Codie actually try to eat me for knowing Desmond? Oh god I'm gonna be puppy chow... she thought her eyes slightly wider then before at the thought, because honestly she had no idea what werewolves were really like, in the movies they always seemed to have tempers and no control over what they did to a person, then again in the movies they only seemed to really become wolves when there was a full moon. Dani was brought out of her thoughts when she heard Codie ask how they met but she didn't know who Codie was asking exactly. Dani took a deep breath and smiled slightly.
"Well, Desmond rescued me...kinda....I mean not like its not like I was going to die but anyways. I was driving home and my tire blew, and I was in the process of changing it when my jack got stuck and out of nowhere Desmond shows up and offers to help. It only took him one push and the jack worked again. Anyways he fixed me up and saved me from having to walk miles and miles in 3 inch heels. Apparently it was my lucky day because superman here doesn't save to many damsels in distress." she finished off her story with a slight chuckle. "I offered to pay him for helping me, but he let me off in exchange for my number, so I gave it to him then we hung out a few times and next thing I knew I was left a letter saying he'd run off with you. Which I thought he was lying because not once did he mention he had a girlfriend, actually he didn't really mention anyone named Codie before the letter." she said her voice didn't have any type of bitterness or meanness to it, in fact it had a little bit of disbelief to it.
