Sevanni loved Italian food. He was from Italy so it was only natural. He missed the taste of it. How it made you feel when you were finished with a whole meal and sat back ready to shoot the breeze with the other men at the table while the women gabbed on about their clothes and make up and who was doing what with who and where. He simply came here to Georgio's because he was a partner in the business. Everyone knew Sevanni came in on every Sunday. It was the church day for all the diners and no one spoke of any God in there. They ate, they laughed, they drank and they bullshitted with everyone around them.
It was a friendly atmosphere that Georgio had aspired to maintain. He was a well rounded guy who knew what Sevanni was, what he owned, the things he had gone through in the old days when he worked in a bistro. Sevanni in turn knew everything about him.
"Hey Sevanni." The cute girl with blond pig tails in her hair held by violet ribbons in short little bows spoke to him. Her shirt wasn't tight enough, her skirt, far too long though it was mid thigh. Maybe that thought of nastiness would make for a good idea. A nudist colony. What a lovely thing to come up with.
He turned his head after finishing a sentence with the bar tender. "There's a lady here say's she's lookin for ya." She looked like she was chewing gum, a small swirl of pink flew by as she swept her tongue around. She leaned on the counter, wrists facing toward him, plumping her cleavage together without probably meaning to.
"Is she now?" He spoke curiously as he looked over to someone female, single, off key with the way the usual customer dressed. She was rather lovely to look at. A closer look wouldn't hurt. "Why don't you tell her I'll be right with her..." She smiled and nodded, turning to head toward the woman, letting his eye catch her's as she probably watched to see who the girl actually approached to tell the news of her arrival.
Obvious cop tactics, or criminal stealth, one or the other. She wasn't a wolf, that was for certain. He would have smelled her coming in. "Ricky.....make sure you test out the new dish tonight huh? Mix it up a bit." A smile ensued and he tapped Max's shoulder as he left the kitchen area.
Too bad he wasn't mortal. He could have gone for some Mozzarella sticks. He made his way toward the woman, cracking fingers to where it looked as though he were rubbing lotion on his hands. He wouldn't dare shake her hand. She didn't smell different. She smelled like a mortal, and to know how cold his skin was, that was not something he was going to do.
"Can I help you?" He asked, still standing, not expecting her to stay long. Maybe attack him. He wasn't sure.

The lively little place was something Kira could get used to. Good food, entertainment, and kind people. What more could you ask for? Then again, maybe people were being especially nice to her because she was a cop. Her badge was in her pocket but while she had arrived a lot earlier she had already warned one person to stop messing around. People had been weary of her since that moment. There was a basket of bread in front of her and she was ripping off little pieces of the fluffy stuff bit by bit. It was really good but she hadnt arrived here for food. She was here to find someone. Her parents murders was one case she was always looking for new clues to and someone had tipped her off that she might want to look for a Sevanni Black. That he might know where to send her. Looking his name up she had found he was a well to do man, and was a little skeptical to the quality of this tip off. How could this man help her?
But she had found out where he was going to be today and the little blonde waitress had confirmed he was here tonight. When her request to see him was sent off with the blonde girl, she kept one eye on her and the other on the place itself. Her training kicking in to mark out each exit in case this got bad. Her handgun was in its holster on her right hip, where it never moved. The black of the leather holster matching the black of her tank top and jeans. She was on night patrol tonight. And she had learned rather quickly that if you wanted to stalk at night, you needed to blend. Her dark hair was down though for now, spilling over her shoulders. Later she would tie it up so it wouldnt get in the way. Finally when the blonde reached a man she looked with both eyes to see who he was. So this was the man she was meeting tonight hm? He didnt look like the sort of person to have any kind of knowledge about things that went bump in the night.
Her opinion on that changed though as he glanced at her. Right in the eyes. Like he knew it was that had requested a meeting with him. She tilted her head to the right and gave a subtle nod to show him she knew who he was and that she was indeed the one asking for him. The blonde girl returned and she gave her a gentle smile and sent her on her way, watching the tall man walking towards her. He had a dark aura around him. Even she could feel that. He had the same kind of dark air like all the people she had found at night. The kind of people she suspected killed her parents. She wasnt to willing to believe in fairy tales, but what the facts added up to, a fairy tale only made sense.
"Can I help you?"
"So your Sevanni Black?" She said with a small smile, looking up at him and not moving from her seat. She was stubborn, she would admit it. "Interesting." She finished off and then pointed to the seat across from her. "Take a seat please? I have some....questions to ask of you. Someone tipped me off that you would be the one to go to ask."

"So your Sevanni Black?" A slight movement of his head as if tilting it and raising brows. "That I am....." "Interesting." She pointed to the seat across from her at the smaller table of the many. "Take a seat please? I have some....questions to ask of you. Someone tipped me off that you would be the one to go to ask." Sevanni pulled out the seat, moving to take a seat and relax a bit after the long junket in the kitchen.
"So....you are a cop...." Spoken with intrigue. What on earth would make this woman come to see him on official police business was beyond him. On duty? Off duty? It was rare for law enforcement to approach him without good cause. Most of the force knew that no one could or would approach Sevanni or his people.
"And you are.....?" Wondering out after eyes drifted to a couple of others around him. Lately there had been an agent going around questioning his people. A good eye was kept on him. Approach certain ones, and you were going to get the horns to the bull. But this....this was random and out of no where, however, the scent her blood gave sent a slight shiver inside of him. It was all so familiar, sweet.....innocently more pure...
"So....What can I do for you?" A question anyone would have asked when someone of the law approaches you. He spoke it so calm and rationally. No defenses given because Sevanni, although he had his secrets, wouldn't give anything pertaining to him or his peoples private life. They did what they wanted because they were immortal. His humans were special to him, those that were his, and he would do his best to protect them. If it had been something uncalled for against a certain mortal of interest here, then he would dispense a punishment according to the crime. There would be no actual civilian and vampire battle any time soon.

"So....you are a cop...."
A small grin played on her lips and she chuckled. So it was pretty obvious she was a cop. Did she just send that message out to everyone? Beware Ill lock you in cuffs? And not in the kinky way either. Glancing him over she had to say she was at a fifty fifty stand. She didnt know whether he was dangerous or just seemed dangerous. He was calm and collected. Something she hadnt seen in a long time. Others that gave off that same shock of danger were more jumpy, had more dark grins, and evil doing in their eyes. The man last night that she had gotten the information from had been rather intimidating. This man though, was far more intimidating. She needed to keep her guard up. He was to perceptive. Something normal people were not. People tended to glance over the subtle things or make up excuses to things that couldnt be explained. Just like the cops that had investigated her parents murders.
"Yes. Im a cop. Have been for a while now." She told him and ripped off another small piece of bread from the stack and popped it into her mouth, placing her elbow on the table and leaning forward. Her chin rested in her hand now and she wanted the casual stance to show him she wasnt here to cart him off to the big house. But he was so damn calm. Most people she asked questions of got jumpy and nervous. There really was something about this man that was different. Absentmindly her fingers trailed down her left arm and over the wolf paw tattoo. Both little symbolic tattoo's were to remind her that she might be dealing with fiction. It hadnt been confirmed, but it hadnt been tossed out the window either. It was very possible that the man in front of her would know of that answer. But she wasnt here to ask him of that.
"And you are.....?" Such a simple question and not an easy answer. She had many options. Lie, give a fake name, lie and give a name that was close, or just tell him her name. She could very well be in danger if she gave her real name and this went bad. But she was a very well trained agent. She could handle it. "Kira Lane. And normally I would ask back..But I already know you a bit." That grin was placed back on her lips and she leaned back in her chair, folding her arms across her chest. "So....What can I do for you?" A small chuckle left her body and she sighed gently after it. "As I said before...Just some questions. Im not on duty...these questions are for...personal reasons. A personal case of mine." She told him. Giving more information then she should have. Her guard needed to be brought back up. But now that she had crossed that line, lets take it to the next level.
"M parents were murdered a few years back. My father here in New York...And my mother in London. One was mauled to death, the other drained alive. Now..Im not one to believe in fairy tales. Vampires and werewolves and such. But lets say for a minute I did. The person I met last night said you could help me find the two murderers. Why? And how? And if you can help me...What would you want in return?"

A beautiful name for a beautiful woman. Kira Lane. Sort of like Lois Lane without the Clark Kent to shuffle around. She was no reporter. If this had been Sin City dialogue would have spilled out of his head right now. Talk of how her skin looked so soft and that fingers wanted to trace lines over it. How her blood smelled and desire for yet another mortal was beginning to poison him once more. Her hair. Long enough to grab, short enough to appreciate. The warm color, the shampoo and conditioner she used. Mortals were so beautiful.
"As I said before...Just some questions. Im not on duty...these questions are for...personal reasons. A personal case of mine." Not on duty. Good to know. Nothing could be on record. If it was a personal reason, well.....no one came to Sevanni Black for personal reasons. Not when you were a mortal. And if you were an immortal, than you better have something worth while to give in return.
A small chortle was let out and hands spread as he spoke, only to close up a second later. "Well.....I can try to help." He said as a matter of factly. Sevanni Black didn't lie, but he didn't simply divulge the truth either. Why the fuck did she smell so familiar? The question was running in his mind over and over again and he just couldn't think of it.
He wasn't sure if he liked that her elbows were on the table. He wasn't one to approve of such things, but his mind couldn't get a handle on how cute she looked when she chewed.
So many words, such a short spance of time. But now it was all coming together. One in London, one in New York. It seemed that his dear friend had come through with the calling. And there was where it got interesting. Recalling the night.
A full moon, the dark cascading sky over New York. The howl in London Yard. Every twenty-five years a werewolf and a lycan of the same blood would arise and take action of equal division. Sevanni had been the chosen one that year, spilling his own blood with another of a different specie, letting the dark hour call upon them to commit the same crime in two settings.
Apparently this one had been consumed with curiosity that it was starting to intercept with her life. How could it not? She was so new....just short of her after teen years. Sevanni could tell that she was ambitious, but she was holding on to something that didn't matter to her anymore.
He chuckled soon after her words finished, letting eyes view the marking on her wrist and catching the other as she sat back once more. "I think you read to much Fiction Miss. Lane." A little smirk appeared over lips. "Homicides are not my thing, I'm a business man." He said flatly, assuming the position of standing up. He wasn't going there with her. Not yet anyway. Maybe he could end her suffering of the curious cat and end her life. She did look like she would make for a great feeding.

"Well.....I can try to help."
Trying was better then just blowing her off. But she had to admit she wished she could get him to just agree to help her. Some of those doubts came fluttering back in the form that she wasnt sure he was the man to go to. But he had to be! There was no other Sevanni Black around in New York. No other Sevanni Black in the world! And the way the other man had spoken his name, it had been with fear and with respect. This man had some power. And he was respected by many. Even the low lifes that coward in the street at nights. What was it that made this man so powerful and frightening? Personally she wasnt scared of him. It could be counted as her first mistake. But she sighed and nodded. Try. Thats all she could do for the moment. And try was better then nothing at all. She knew that much. She had a small little building block. She had been leap frogging everywhere trying to get information. Would this be the end of the long road?
"Homicides are not my thing, I'm a business man."
Her hands tightened into fists and she grit her teeth to keep from yelling. Those blocks felt like they were tumbling. This could not be a dead end. This was not the first time she had heard Sevanni's name in the mist of gossip at night. He knew something. She knew that. Just by the smug look of him. And as he stood up, she stood as well, her tall skinny frame challenging him. Her hands were on the table and she leaned forward. "Business man my ass. That may be your cover up but this isnt the first time I have heard your name whispered in the shadows. That man sent me to you. He sent me to you for a reason. So dont give me this shit. I dont read fiction anymore. Im not a child. And Im not an idiot. You know something that could help me. Now why the fuck did he send me to you?" She told him and moved from her side of the table and stood in front of him, blocking his way. Her dark eyes glaring and challenging.

People were starting to look and this didn't make Sevanni any less angry. Making a scene in his own damn place, how careless mortals were.
Eyes drew back to her with a short irritation, his hand taking hold of her arm and drawing her out of the front doors and off to the side of the building. Jerking her to stand so they would face each other. "Look." He began sternly and rather openly pissed. "I don't take to people speaking to me like that in a place that I partly own." He knew people were wondering about what that was all about, whisper about it and talk about what could have been or possibly was as they exited.
"I don't know where you're getting your information....but if I were you....I wouldn't poke my nose in places it doesn't belong." Finally he stood up straight, nearly stiff and digging into his pocket for a cigar. Some bitches were just too stressful. Still, he looked around and gestured her away from the street more so they were mid entry of the alleyway.
"Why don't you just go home.....forget about anything that ever happened and move on with your life....." He failed to mention before her life ended as well. She couldn't continue the rant and end up in the wrong place. He'd hear about her death eventually. The obituaries were an evening ritual after waking up. His form of reading the morning paper.
His words got lower and he spoke with caution...."You're a beautiful girl....so much life ahead of you.....Some things should just be left buried." The last part spoken between clenched teeth before he stood straight up again, finally lighting the cigar and slipping it into his mouth for a nice long puff and release.

Kira was used to making a scene. She wasnt exactly a silent girl. She was outgoing and spoke her opinion openly. Her parents always told her it would be the death of her. In school she had gotten into many fights at the Deb school for this very reason. And it was another factor mark that showed she was not cut out to be the regular lady. So the glances and the whispers her way when she spoke up to this man werent a shock to her. Being in the spotlight wasnt exactly what she wanted since it would most likely make him flee away from her and then she wouldnt be able to get the information she needed from him. He knew something. He had to!
But she saw something change in his eyes and she didnt have time to move away before he caught her arm and dragged her out of the restaurant and out into the street. She could have growled and yelled in frustration. But fine. She could continue this in the streets. Didnt matter to her. Even though her pride was a bit injured. A cop being hauled out the doors by the person she came to talk with. Lovely. Good thing none of her partners or fellow cops had decided to come to this restaurant for dinner tonight. She would have been shit out of luck.
"I don't take to people speaking to me like that in a place that I partly own."
This simple little sentence made her laugh. She folded her arms across her chest and then rolled her eyes with a small scoff. "Oh I bet you dont." She muttered and added a small shake of her head, causing her dark curls to fall down her shoulders. He didnt need to tell her this. She could have very well guessed that part. He was fancy and well behaved mostly. And when you owned someplace you expected to be treated with respect. But she didnt take kindly to people hauling her places. She hadnt been forced to do anything since she was seven years old. Eight had been her rebellious age and from then on, it stuck.
"You may not like being talked to this way, but to bad. I went there. And dont ever drag me somewhere ever again. I am not someone thats a little pet to obey commands and to be reprimanded when Im bad." She told him, a dark look in her eyes.
"I don't know where you're getting your information....but if I were you....I wouldn't poke my nose in places it doesn't belong."
Sticking her nose in places it didnt belong was her job. Not just as a cop either. To figure things out you needed to think outside of the box. Away from the norms. And that meant dealing with people in the shadows and sticking her nose into their affairs. Its how she had been sent to him. And since his name was in that under current of people, he was doing something else on the side besides running this dainty little restaurant. She had him. And she knew it. But he was so damn stubborn! But oh well, she could be stubborn right back.
When he dragged her further away from the door again, she bit back a smart ass reply. Hadnt she JUST told him not to do that? But of course, typical male. Never listen. Glaring at him she shook her head. Strike two for the man.
"Why don't you just go home.....forget about anything that ever happened and move on with your life....."
This produced another scoff from her and she sighed gently after. "I cant just go home. I have spent most of my life trying to find the people that killed my parents. Its a goal. An ambition for me. And I cant rest until I find them. I dont care if it takes the rest of my life. And its not like I have anyone else to worry about. No friends, no boyfriend or lover, no family. What the hell else do I have?" She told him, realizing she had probably given him a bit to much information into her own personal matters.
She didnt even reply to the end part of his speech. She didnt have that much ahead of her. Did he not realize she got shot at every day for her job? And that she enjoyed the thrill of it? She was an officer that took risks if she had to. Her life span was probably going to be short. And the topic of looks, she had her mothers eyes and hair, but she wasnt as beautiful as she had been. Her mother had been a true lady. She was more like her father through and through and turned more like him every day.
Watching the puff of smoke, she shook her head and then snatched the cigar from his mouth crushing it with her foot on the sidewalk. She put on her glare once more. "Now stop beating around the bush. You know something that can help me. Just give me some names or others to bother. Then Ill be off your doorstep and I wont be seen again."

With those determined yet sad eyes, she was in over her head. What would she do if she knew that the very person she was searching for had been right there in front of her face? Would she faint? Attempt to assassinate him? Perhaps he would grab her up before hand. Before she screamed out bloody murder. There was nothing more pleasing than hearing the anguish escape lips of his victims. A turn on really.
He could brush past her words. Attempting to threaten him and possibly making it an action. The little girl was in way over her head, but he did realize one thing. She smelled just like her mother, and her mother tasted absolutely divine.
"I cant just go home. I have spent most of my life trying to find the people that killed my parents. Its a goal. An ambition for me. And I cant rest until I find them. I don't care if it takes the rest of my life. And its not like I have anyone else to worry about. No friends, no boyfriend or lover, no family. What the hell else do I have?" Such good news to hear. Not having to worry about people coming to look for her. No sadness in eyes of those who knew her at work. Sure, they would search for her and wonder what happened. Perhaps set up an APB. They wouldn't find her, not unless he wanted them to. And who's to say he wanted to kill her?
What she had done soon after as thoughts chiseled away at his brain, well, it was unheard of. No one ever did what it was she had done. It would be like personally nailing Jesus to the cross and having a drink about it later. But there would be no drink for her, and she wouldn't be nailing anything anywhere.
"Now stop beating around the bush. You know something that can help me. Just give me some names or others to bother. Then Ill be off your doorstep and I wont be seen again." He watched, still in awe from her grabbing his cigar, tossing it on the ground as if she had the right. Didn't she know that that single cigar cost more than her entire Wal-mart outfit? More than her life, and even that wouldn't be enough to give change back.
His eyes roamed to the right, no passers by, a nice little moment best left for him to make his move. With gritted teeth and dark tones he snatched her up by the throat and pushed her hard against the brick wall of the building behind her. Letting her head hit not so hard but hard enough to make her head swirl.
"Rule number one....never ever touch something that belongs to me....especially something that costs more than your entire existence." He pushed on her throat just a bit harder, licking his lips, dragging the lower under front teeth at the top before speaking once again.
"You want to know who killed your parents....." It was spoken out so soft and so dreary. He wanted to hear her whimper and plead for information. "I know exactly who killed them.....but if you want to know who....I suggest you do act like a good little girl that we both know you can be, and think of another way to approach me."
The last of his words came out heavy and mean, his strength losing on her neck as he tossed her down to the ground to land on her stomach and hands, away from the street, closer to the back of the alley lot. He turned, looking her over with a carnivorous glare. He was hungry after all, and she would make such a good pet to have at his disposal. Such a collector. That Sevanni Black. He could imagine her wearing her very own collar and lapping milk up from a saucer in the kitchen like a good kitty kitty.
"Now.....how about you start over......"

The stunned look on his face gave her some satisfaction. That was her. She was the one to cause trouble and surprise people. She had never done what people would call polite or decent. If she wanted your attention, she did what she had to acquire it. Her mother had always tried beating into her that she needed to be polite, well mannered and brought up. Best way to find a husband and that people would listen to her more. But she hadnt been able to pull it off. That was the worst part. Seeing her mothers disappointment. Even back then when she was rebellious she hated causing her mother pain.
But now it didnt really matter. She wasnt going to marry anyone. That was for sure and people listened to her just fine. And if they didnt, they had her handgun in their face or they were flat on their backs and her foot was on their stomach, keeping them down. For a girl, she was pretty strong. Most of the guys back at the station couldnt take her in a fight and that was saying something. Her small size let her be more agile and quick. But her quick senses couldnt have helped her in this situation.
Before she could even blink she felt an icey grip around her neck and the brick wall that had been a few feet from her was now slammed into her head. He knew what he was doing though and he didnt slam her hard enough to kill her. But it was hard enough to make her world spin on its axis. The world was a buzz, his words only coming through partly. And barely understood. She was still trying to compute what had happened.
He had moved so damn fast. She hadnt even seen his hand move. His eyes had checked the surrounding and then bam! Her eyes watered up slightly from the pain now driving into her skull like a hammer drove a nail into a board. Each time her heart beat, she felt the slam into her head. But she blinked her eyes and paid attention to him, her hands coming up to grasp his arm in some sort of defense. It was useless though. His grip only tightened more around her neck.
"I know exactly who killed them.....but if you want to know who....I suggest you do act like a good little girl that we both know you can be, and think of another way to approach me."
Looking into his eyes she could see now why the man had sent her to him. He was a shady guy that knew a lot and was very dangerous. A fire that she had prodded at and now it was reaching up and burning her. But wounds could heal. If you got away. Which probably wasnt likely. Because even though she could barely breathe and he was cutting everything off from her, his words made her have some hope. He knew. He knew who killed them. Just like she suspected he did. But damn it, he was going to want something in return. It couldnt only be her being a good girl.
In another lightening flash movement she was thrown to the ground, her stomach flattened on the cold sidewalk and her hands out in front of her to catch her landing. And seeing as it wasnt exactly gentle, the palms of her hands were scraped open with shallow cuts that started to bleed. She hissed gently in pain and sat up with a wince. Oh yeah. She was going to feel that one in the morning. There was no doubt about that one.
"Now.....how about you start over......"
Her blue eyes slid to him and she let her face remain blank for a minute. She didnt really know how to respond to him. He knew what she needed but she would have to play his little game to get the information. Then again, if she was a smart ass, he could very well kill her and then she wouldnt be able to go after her parents killers because she would actually be with them.
Her gaze dropped back down to her hands where the two tattoos she had gotten right after their deaths sat. Both on her wrists, one a wolfs paw, the other looking like she had slashed her wrist. It represented the two things she couldnt quit bring herself to believe. But she was starting to become a believer more every day. And she realized something. She would rather die and have been on her feet, then begging and pleading on the ground.
With those thoughts in mind, she stood up, holding in a groan. She would deal with the pains later. If there was a later for her. Folding her arms again, she glared at him. No good girl here. "Screw you Sevanni Black." She told him and then spit at his feet. She could find her information somewhere else.

"Screw you Sevanni Black." And it didn't help her by spitting either. The one thing he hated, and women these days at sought it out to spit at him. That he was growing tired of, and it had to stop sooner than later. He inwardly chuckled, trying to get past the fact that not only did she rise up and stand as if nothing happened, so bold and full of assurance, but she had spat at him and thought less about the consequences.
A low subtle growl emanated in his throat, his head lowered slightly as eyes glared at her while he pushed forward. "You wanna know what the best part of my night back then was?" He started as he stalked toward her. If she had went backwards to try and get away from him she would hit wall or a dumpster, so it wasn't as if she was going to run out into the street.
"Having some good old fashion fun with my friends." He was closer to her now, his hand venturing to her wrist and raising her arm. Even if she had protested he could simply slam her back to meet the wall once again. Eyes roamed over the veins in her wrist, the tattoos sincerely in place on both of them. He could let his accomplice taste her on the other to the matching paw print while he tasted her vampire scar. "The marks you wear.....in remembrance of your parents......it's like an ode to me and my friend."
Sevanni spoke so soft, so menacing that he meant to cause shivers in her body. He drew her skin to lips, smelling the scent of her blood closer than he already could so that her scent was stronger. Nearly edible there in the alley of the New York Streets. "I wonder what you would give to hear the entire truth right now...." He wondered aloud so she could hear. Pique her interest and wonder what it was he had up his sleeve. His eyes narrowed to view her own, the sultriness therein laying so visible above the surface, but it was underneath that she had to fear.
"Everything you had hoped to know.....learned in a matter of moments here as you stand before me." His lips moved over the softness of her skin all the while watching her reactions. That beautiful face she claimed as her own. Mmmm, another pet to behold. And a cop no less. She hadn't been on his payroll, she seemed to straight and narrow for him, but of course she would conform. They all did.

Another thing that she had never learned to grow out of, was when she had pushed her luck. She would always shove and push until she got what she wanted. Some people warned her that she would one day come across someone that was bigger and meaner then her. And that they would teach her a lesson she would never forget. At the time, she had laughed at them and said it wouldnt happen. Looks like karma was coming to bite her in the ass today.
Right after those words left her mouth she could feel his anger. She was pretty sure it wasnt so much the words as it was the spitting. He wasnt the kind of man to take crap from anyone. Especially not from her. And as he started to approach her, instinct told her to run. Something in her that she never thought she had. She had never been a scared little girl in her life. Never been scared of anyone. But something about this man scared her. And she had picked the wrong one to mess with.
Backing up, she felt her breathing start to pick up a notch. Okay, maybe not a notch. A whole octave. It was clear to her and so it was probably clear to him as he moved even closer to her. His words were dark and menacing and of course made no sense at all. She was intrigued though and she wanted to smack herself. Her curiosity was going to get her killed someday. And maybe not just some day...today. Just his voice alone held murder in it. And she was going to have to tread on very light ground now.
But Kira was a smart girl. She hadnt made it up the cop food chain by being a dumb girl. She was clever and could outwit people. But she also knew when to cut it out and when to stay back. He knew what she wanted, but if she was her normal outgoing and demand what she wanted self, she had a feeling she wouldnt be getting anything but her life taken away. And no one would know what had happened. And no one would mourn her. Which was the sad story of her life.
His cold hand grabbing her arm made a shiver run through her body. She didnt want him touching her. He was freezing! It was unnatural. Unusual. And she didnt know what to do. She couldnt do a damn thing. He was strong. She could feel that already. And by the force he had used earlier. She was certain that was nothing though. He could probably kill her with the flick of his wrist and not even blink about it. Something told her that he had killed people before. And not lost any sleep over it.
The words he spoke made her swallow. What would she give to know? She was pretty sure almost everything. Her motto in life was that nothing was worth everything. So why couldnt she follow her own damn saying when it came to this? His lips against her skin brought her back to reality and she held her breath. Did he truly want an answer? Or was that just a rhetorical question? It was hard to tell with the man standing in front of her like the angel of death himself.
She could answer him. She really could. But she was going to be logical and not say anything he could use against her. She gave a small tug at her arm to try and make him let go of her and then glared up at him. "Let me go. Right now." She told him. Her voice came out confident and angry. She was pleased with herself. But then again, she was angry. She had come for answers, found them, but she wasnt going to dance in circles for them. He knew something but wasnt going to tell her.
Sevanni Black could play his little game. He could continue to be the man of the underworld as some referred to him as. She would find out what she needed somewhere else. Without his help. Without this stupid trouble.

"Let me go. Right now." Little harpee and her need to feel strong and superior. Perhaps she would add to his lovely collection of prized items. Shaden Grace had joined the club. Came to the realization that he was a very worthy collectible item. Much like the other females who had sunk into his pit of despair and love. She reminded him of a much tamer Phoenix, and perhaps, just maybe she was better off at being a vibrant portion to his little group he called family.
She yanked her arm, but it hadn't been as strong as it could have been if she were blood bound. He gladly let it falter from his hold, fingers open with matched palm, eying her with such a cold stability. It was always fun to play with mortals. He loved mortals more than any vampire could or should. But to turn one of them....that was a quizzical factor he had yet to really harness. He was quite smitten with Jace at current, or, perhaps the three of them should gather round as a group and do it at once.
Then Sevanni would surely be burned out and need to take two days rather than one full day's rest to recouperate. Poor thing. It wasn't his age. It was the amount of blood that the little ones took. Much like Nixie who had nearly tainted his entire need to stand and be any sort of physical.
Aubrey had been greedy when he turned her. Nearly draining him dry, and of course it crossed his mind that she was trying to do just that. Sneaky little vixen. The thought alone made him wonder whether or not for his next visit he should stop in and get Mallie himself on his way to bringing his pixies to Paris and mess up Giselle's good nature.
"Tell me something......" It was a request or some sort of rhetorical question this time. "Do you value your life?" Who didn't? What mortal didn't when death came knocking on their door rather than torture them with stalking gestures. When Sevanni wanted something, he fucking got it, or he would take it by force. Kira was another one that would be taken in, whether she liked it or not. She seemed like a most worthy pet to play with. A cop on the task force. Some agent gone rogue and only able to see the new light of what was truly out there.
But it meant he would have to have protection over her. She would be the independent type that would do things on her own her way. A dangerous feat to behold, but to each their own.
"Because I do......value your life....in fact....I value it so much that I am going to let you live another day to see the sun. Because it will be your last." A threat? Perhaps. She would have to hunt down where he lived, find out through the grape vine or stalk those who worked for and with him. Marcus would see to it it didn't happen, and when the time came for her to approach those she worked with, she would find herself at a large overcast of brick wall.
Nearly everyone in the New York districts were on his payroll, and if she thought it would be easy to make him regret the threat, she would be dead wrong. Quite literally in fact. How wonderful she must taste. Perhaps a little nibble wouldn't hurt. Would it?

His icey touch letting go of her arm made some of her confidence creep back. He was a blasted scary man and she had a feeling he loved scaring people. She hadnt heard of much of Sevanni Black. Just that he was the one she needed to see if she wanted to know about her parents murders. Before the man who had told her about him, she had never even heard of Sevanni Black. And he was apparently some big, high to do person in an underworld type place. Her tip off hadnt been very coherent and useful, just the one name. And she was starting to regret it.
But at least now she could stay away from him. He knew what she needed yes, but he couldnt be the only one that knew something. He couldnt be the only one that was a useful resource. And there had to be someone that she could actually push around without being pushed back. Because Mr. Black was ready to kill her. She could see it in his eyes. But there was also a hint of something else in those dark ice cold eyes. It seemed like he was contemplating over something....Something she couldnt even begin to wonder at.
The silence hung there for a few seconds. Neither one of them moving and Kira was barely breathing in fear that he would just reach out and snap her neck because of it. But if she wanted to be let go, she needed to be forceful and demand to be let go. Because he wasnt going to do it willingly. But when she opened her mouth to speak, he spoke up first. In that dark tone that made a shiver run down her spine. It was another question that probably didnt need an answer. Did she value her life?
She had to take a minute to think on that actually. Did she value what little life she had left? Sure she was afraid to die, but would she do anything to live when death came knocking on her door? Or should she say, when death pinned her to a wall and came in the form of a tall and dark man. Most people would do anything at all to protect themselves. She had seen it all. But what about herself? That was a question she really had no answer to. Even though it was very possible Sevanni was planning on killing her right now. But as she had said earlier...She would rather be on her feet and killed, then on her knees and begging.
"Because I do......value your life....in fact....I value it so much that I am going to let you live another day to see the sun. Because it will be your last."
Those words made her snap out of her thinking and look straight at him. It was a threat all right. But if he meant to kill her, why did he not just do it now. Why leave her one day and then kill her? Was he some sick bastard? She had no doubt that he could easily track her down. She had given her full name to him and with a name anything was possible. Unless you were very good at hiding yourself. And she had never had any reason to hide. Not until now at least. But even though he was threatening her, she couldnt help but have questions.
She glared at him and folded her arms across her chest since she had just gotten control back of them and she didnt want him touching her again. Then she stared him right in the eyes. "Why? Why do you even care about me? Im just the stupid girl in your eyes that barked on the wrong door. And if your going to let me live to see another day, why come after me? Why kill me after? Why not just kill me now when you already have me in your grasp?" She asked him, her anger getting the better of her.
"What if I left the state or something within that time period you gave me. Or even better, left the country. I doubt you would waste so much time and effort on me. Im useless to you." She told him. Sure she wasnt helping her case. But he made no sense at all. And she wanted some damn answers. And so if she was going out, she was going out Kira style. "You make no fucking sense."

There went that cocky little stance of hers. Only words he could expect were harshness and smart ass replies. No bother. He was going to have a little snack and make her step a bit closer into the darkness. Pity. She would have made such a lovely vampire. But all things came to those who waited, and boy did he hate waiting for those good things. He had a feeling she was well worth it.
"Why? Why do you even care about me? Im just the stupid girl in your eyes that barked on the wrong door. And if your going to let me live to see another day, why come after me? Why kill me after? Why not just kill me now when you already have me in your grasp?"
A small chuckle emerged from his throat, more questions that he may or may not answer. Besides, who was she to question him? Sevanni had been flying through the city left and right doing everything aside from dry walling a building. Scaling them like Spiderman and rescuing people off the bring of their own extinction.
"What if I left the state or something within that time period you gave me. Or even better, left the country. I doubt you would waste so much time and effort on me. I'm useless to you." She was getting angry. Not only did he see it written clearly on her face, but he could feel it running through her body. She was going to love despising him for all the wrong reasons. "You make no fucking sense." Maybe not then, but in due time it would all become clear to her.
"Everyone is important. You came to me remember?" He started as he let hands move over both of her wrists, pinning them against brick after moving her to the side of the opposing building from before. "You sought me out for answers and I am going to give them to you." Whether she liked it or not.
Firmly he pressed his form against her own. Letting the blood in those veins of her's boil. "I could make it to any country or state in a matter of a moments time...." He stalked out words in a drowning darkness. Glaring at her straight in the eyes. "Useless to me?" He asked as his face grew close to the side of her own head, whispering darkly in her ear. "Everyone of your kind is so useful." He moved back, his head not his body and looked at her at a good distance in case she tried to headbutt him.
"So very useful." Then painful he let his fangs emerge, ripping through and stretching the gum line as his k9's expanded. Letting her see for herself exactly what he was. A vampire. To her some mythical creature of folklore that didn't exist. Now he was showing her they had.
Without warning he had let fangs tear flesh in the curve of her neck, letting her blood spill into his mouth with a rushing ease and moaning against her flesh as his hands held to her waistline. Letting hands and arms become free in case she wanted to tear away at him. It would only provoke him more. More to take. More of a turn on to want to keep her.
He drank from her until her heartbeat slowed, letting her body swoon into his arms before he released and held her in his own arms. Lifting her up as his left arm swept under the backs of her knees and her upper frame resting in his right arm.
With a quick rush he flourished through the side alleys and headed toward the triplets apartment where he had them bring Jace. Another human that they could play with, but of course he would forbid it as she would become his property. Make her his personal little blood doll and somehow release Ixandra of her duty and let this budding little law enforcer take her place.
Since he had decided to let her live, he would have no reason to bring her to his home until she was ready. Until she realized that she was meant for this. Meant to be his. To belong to him like the others.
Mainly they had chosen to come to him and serve him, but this one. Kira. She was another story that he wanted to unfold. A book eagerly waiting to be read.
When he made it to the apartment building it took him seconds to enter the apartment it's self and lay her down on the bed of the guest room. The three sisters stayed in one room, slept on the same bed curled up within one another like baby kittens. Holding one another and letting fingers curl into fingers and hands.
They awoke of course and stood around the door waiting for him to come out. They could smell the fresh meat that he had brought, and sadly they knew it wasn't for them. Sad little kittens.
As he lay her there he sat at the edge of the bed, waiting for eyes to open and view where she was. Somehow letting his fingers swirl invisible lines in the palm of her left hand. Her skin was so soft, her blood so sweet. She was ripe for the picking and he was a happy man.
