Tonight was Jaysin's first night back to work. He had taken a couple nights off because of his shoulder and because he had been in a bad mood lately. Now, he was learning to fully accept what he was since there was nothing he could do about it now. All he could do was live life as 'normally' as he could and just bare with his new found gift.
Even though Jay had always dreamed about becoming a vampire rather than a werewolf he still tried to look at the brighter side of things. At least he could go out during the day still and didn't have to worry about the constant thirst vampires went through. The only down side though was he could die the same way humans can and he aged. Another bad thing was during a full moon he couldn't control changing and while in wolf form during a full moon, his actions were unpredictable. Other than that, he was happy with what he had become.
He was thankful it was Thursday which meant it would be a slow night. It was rare for it to get crazy on a week night but this was the time when the most interesting people came in. He stepped behind the bar and wiped his hand on the small white hand towel that he had tucked in his front, right pocket. Still early he thought to himself as his eyes looked over the vacant dance floor. "Give it another thirty minutes and I'm sure people will be piling in." he hollered to the DJ who was messing around with a few songs.

There was no reason for Evelyn to be here, in Hollywood, on a Thursday night. It was so disappointing, how empty the city had become. Hundreds of people still walked along the streets, but that was a very few number compared to how many people would be here during the weekend. There really was no reason for being here. Evelyn didn’t know anyone in this city. Well, she knew someone – an aspiring artist that really had no hope, but good taste in jewelry – but she ate him when she came to Hollywood last time. That should’ve been a lesson for Evelyn. Never eat someone if they’re the only person you know in that city. Then, you have no one to take you out when you visit. Well, Evelyn was going to go out somewhere, tonight. She was all dressed up, and damnit, she wasn’t going to let this outfit go to waste. There was a club just across the street that a few people just entered. The sign was bright and flashy, the music was good and loud, and the bouncer smelled delicious. So, Evelyn decided that was the place she was going to hang out with her stylish outfit, at. It was a really bad decision, to go there. There was good music, but hardly anyone to dance with it. The few people that just entered were already on the dance floor, but Evelyn passed on joining them. It was just no fun to dance with only a few strangers that didn’t even smell bite-worthy. She decided to have a seat at the bar instead. Evelyn was a pro at flirting with bartenders and getting free drinks. Half of the time, she didn’t even need to say anything. Ah, one of the perks of being such a beautiful vampire. She glanced over at the bartender, who didn’t smell anywhere close to bite-worthy, and decided to make small talk with him. “Pretty slow night, so far.” She commented.

As the small handful of people showed up he brushed them off, allowing the other bartender, Devin, to take care of them. Not like Jaysin needed to do anything anyways, he was the manager after all. He didn't even need to be here but he was growing bored and lonely just sitting at home. Sometimes, as crazy as it sounds, Jay found work as a place to get away from some things. He hoped that coming here would take his mind off his first change so he wasn't so stressed about it.
He had been leaning against the back counter when she walked in. Her scent had grabbed Jaysin's attention immediately. The scent was somewhat familiar yet had a slight difference to it compared to the other vampires he had been running into lately. He seemed to be attracting more of them nowadays and he had yet to met another werewolf other than his maker.
Stepping out of the shadows he watched her curiously as she made her way to the bar. He shot her a toothy smile and lean forward, resting his elbows against the top of the counter. He winced a bit, feeling a slight pain in his left shoulder, the shoulder that had been broken during the attack, but kept that smug grin on his face. Folding one arm over the other he looked her over then moved his gaze back to her face.
"Very slow," he replied, his tone normal. He knew he didn't have to shout over the music since she wasn't a human. She would be able to hear him loud and clear. "But it should pick up soon." He watched as a few men walked past the bar, eyeing the girl who sat before him. "Did you want anything to drink?"

This was all too easy. It hasn’t even been a minute yet, and the bartender was already smiling and leaning toward her. Evelyn noticed the slight wince in his face, but he quickly hid it. She glanced down as he placed one arm over the other protectively. Oh, so obviously it’s hurt. Maybe he got into a fight. Hmmm, a tough guy. Cool.
She also noticed how his eyes weren’t exactly on her face for a while. Ugh, this really was too easy.
Evelyn took a deep breath of annoyance in. She paused for a moment, and her eyes grew a little bit wider as she met the werewolf’s eyes. What is a werewolf doing here? Great. This was a really bad choice for a club.
”Very slow,” He replied in a normal tone. Evelyn could hear it over the music, of course. "But it should pick up soon."
A few more men walked into the bar. She took a slight sniff as they walked by her. They smelled alright, biteable, and they would easily be seduced by Evelyn. They were already staring at her like she was some beautiful masterpiece. Hmm, she might think about them for dinner, later. She wasn’t too hungry, now.
"Did you want anything to drink?"
“I’ll take a rum and coke, please.” She said, smiling. Then, she glanced down at his arm, again. “When did you get bitten?”

He stood upright again, stretching his right arm above his head. He couldn't stretch his left arm too much because of his damned shoulder. He was getting sick of having to worry about it. Worrying about moving too much or bumping into someone or something accidentally causing a wave of pain to shoot through his entire body. He would have gone to the hospital but he hated seeing the doctor no matter how sick or injured he was.
As she ordered he nodded and smiled again. Such a simple order and it was nothing near to what he was expecting her to order. He expected a 'girlie' drink to say the least. A martini or something more fruity. A rum and coke was more of a man's drink to him.
"You got it." He then reached under the counter top grabbing a bottle of coke and with the other hand he grabbed a short glass from the cup rack. He set the two items before him and turned his back to her to grab the rum from the display shelf which held all kinds of alcoholic beverages. He spun on his heel, facing her again and shot her a toothy smile. He would have performed some tricks for her but unfortunately it would have to wait for another night.
Taking the cup again he scooped up some ice into it from the ice bin beside the counter and poured rum into the glass. Once he poured the right amount he put that bottle away and poured coke into the cup until it reached the top. Tossing two tiny straws into the cup he slid the drink in front of her. "Here you are ma'am."

He reached underneath the bar and grabbed a bottle. Evelyn watched him, not because she was interested in him, but she was interested in his answer. So far, there was no reply. He spun around to grab the coke and glass. Evelyn kept her eyes on him. When he spun around again, he smiled, but there was still no reply.
Is he deaf? The music was pretty loud, but it wasn’t that loud. Evelyn kept her eyes on him. Anyone else who would’ve seen her would’ve thought that she was starting at the boy in wonder. Is he ever going to answer my question?
He smiled again as he handed her the drink. Evelyn grew hopeful as opened his mouth. Yes, finally, an answer!
’Here you are ma’am.”
She raised an eyebrow at him. “Thanks.” She said in an ungrateful tone. He heard Evelyn ask that question. She knows he heard that. Even newborn wolves have good hearing.
She turned herself around and rested her elbows against the bar as she looked out on the dance floor. More people showed up. The dance floor was still not as full as Evelyn would have liked, but she couldn’t really ask for much more on a Thursday night. The DJ was pretty good, though. He knew some good songs. When she was done with this drink, she just might go out and dance to a couple of them.
The men that stared at her earlier were still at the bar, as well, and all of them still had their eyes fixed on Evelyn. She looked over, and all of them had such cheesy smiles. Evelyn rolled her eyes and looked away from them. Neither of them had a chance with her.
The wolf’s smell kept distracting her. She glanced back toward him, half wondering what he was doing right now. She decided to attempt another question. She didn’t think she’d get a response, but it was worth a random shot. She turned her head to the side and glanced backward. “How long ago were you bitten?”
She didn’t expect a response, so she turned her head toward the dance floor, again. Since his shoulder still hurt, it couldn’t have been too long ago, maybe a couple of days ago. Hmm, Evelyn looked up toward the spot lights that flickered on and off throughout the club. A couple of days ago … it was a half-moon in the sky. Hmm, how interesting. He couldn’t have had his first change, yet. The moon tonight wasn’t a full moon, but it was getting pretty close.
“Are you excited for your first change?” another question she decided to randomly shoot out toward the bartender.

Jay did indeed hear her question the first time but it had slipped his mind. He had put the thought of her order before anything else, as simple as it was. Plus he didn't really feel like telling some stranger about his personal issues. Why did she care anyways? What good would it do for her to know?
As she turned her back to him he decided to leave the question unanswered still and began helping the other bartender make the group of men drinks. He watched curiously as the group of young men continued to stare at Evelyn. Boys these days... It was guys like them that made him ashamed to be one sometimes. Damned pigs. He shot one of them a glare as he handed him a drink and went back to the vampire.
He looked past her over towards the dance floor. He was relieved that more people were continuing to pile in. It looked like it was going to be a decent night after all. For a weeknight anyways. She seemed distracted by the dance floor. He wouldn't have minded if she wanted to leave the bar to dance but he wanted to know why she questioned him about his bite.
Moving his gaze back to her as she looked back at him he lifted his shoulders lightly in a shrug, deciding to just answer her question. There was no point in being rude about it. She wasn't doing him any harm. Not yet anyways. He silently counted the days in his mind, trying to remember exactly what day it was when he was attacked. Saturday.
"About five days ago." He finally said watching her as she kept her back to him. Was she irritated at him for having to repeat herself? No matter. Jay loved messing with his customers once in awhile.
Excited? Why the hell would he be excited? He knew it was going to be far from exciting. It being changing. "Hell no I'm not excited." He tried to keep himself from laughing. He was quite amused by his own answer. He was just being honest though.

One of the three boys down the bar left and headed toward the dance floor. It was really amusing, how his eyes never left Evelyn as he walked toward the floor, and how he kept staring at her as he danced and hoped she would come join him.
Hah, no. Evelyn wouldn’t even waste her time with him. She would only dance with him if she wanted to kill him, and he was proving to be a way too easy kill for her. In fact, nearly all of the boys in this room would be just too easy for her. Ugh, what a bore. Evelyn needed something exciting and fun. She needed a good chase or an interesting catch. She needed something that made this dull, Thursday night just a little bit more fun.
”About five days ago.”
Evelyn stared blankly ahead of her for a couple of seconds. Oh, yea. She asked the boy how long ago he was bitten. Wow, he actually answered. Evelyn turned around. She placed her arms on the bar and leaned on one of them, while she grabbed her drink with the other and chugged it down. No, it wasn’t exactly a lady-like thing to do, but Evelyn didn’t really care at the moment.
“Hell no I’m not excited.”
Evelyn smirked and chuckled a little bit at his response. She really didn’t want to know if it was exciting or not. She was just throwing random questions out there to see if he’d talk about it. She looked down at her empty glass as she thought. Being forced to turn into a wolf at every full moon, whether you liked it or not, would probably not be very fun, at all. Evelyn definitely wouldn’t enjoy it. Thank god it was a sick, sadistic vampire she met that one night, about 130 years ago, and not a werewolf.
“Yea, I wouldn’t be excited, either.”
She gazed back down at her empty glass, again. Her finger pushed around the ice with the two little straws. Hmm, what if it was a werewolf that she had met, instead of a vampire? What if a mutt had bitten her, instead? Evelyn didn’t know much about werewolves. She knew that they turn into wolves automatically during a full moon. She knew that they smelled dirty, and that they are more likely to get fleas and ticks than vampires are. They can die easily, whereas vampires can only die by burning alive. She knew that they weren’t immortal like vampires, either.
They grew old. They could easily die like humans can. They’re pretty much furry, howling humans. How different would Evelyn have turn out if she met a werewolf that night, instead of a vampire?
He shook her head at the thought. She would’ve never fallen in love with the werewolf, if she had met him instead. She would’ve still been human. There would’ve been no way that she would’ve been bitten by a wolf.
And thank god for that. Being a vampire was so much better. If Evelyn had a choice at all, she would’ve definitely had chosen to be a vampire. Well, maybe not. There was no way of knowing what Evelyn as a human would’ve done.
“Did you choose this?” She asked as she continued to swirl around the melting ice. “Did you choose to become a wolf?”

People continued to pile themselves into the club and the place was growing more and more crowded by the minute. Wandering eyes were immediately drawn to Evelyn as if she were some type of painting that had just been put out on display. It made Jay wonder if all vampires were looked upon like that. Vampires were always handsome or gorgeous. Flawless it seemed. Except for the whole sucking the life out of you deal.
"Yeah, I wouldn't be excited, either."
"Honestly, who would?" He kept his tone at a decent level. Not too low nor too high, even though the music overpowered his voice. He gently took the empty glass away from her and poured her another drink. He knew that alcohol had no effects on vampires so it made him wonder why she even drank. It couldn't have been for the taste. Alcohol was disgusting. Maybe it was just one of those things vampires did to make themselves appear more 'normal'.
Sliding the second glass before her, he smiled and wiped his hands onto the small towel that hung from his pocket. "Drinks are on me." he announced, not wanting her to feel as if he was just pouring her drink after drink without her permission to make her spend money. He often did that to his male customers but only if they had ticked him off.
Women, so full of surprises. Her next question, just like the first, caught him off guard and surprised him. He was unsure at first, how to answer the question correctly. Should he be honest or just bullshit with her? He decided to take the honest route. He had no reason to lie to her anyways.
"I didn't choose it of course." His eyes moved to the crowd that had gathered behind her. Almost all of them were men of course. Two were women who sent accusing glares her way. Turning his attention back to her he lifted his shoulders lightly and shrugged. "If I had a choice I would have chosen to be a vampire instead. Sounds much more appealing than being a dog." He shot her a playful wink and set off the make drinks for other patrons.
Jay stayed close, though so that they could continue the conversation. He found it rather interesting for a vampire to be questioning him about what he was. Narrowing his eyes towards her as he made a drink, he smiled crookedly then shot the question right back at her.
"How about you? Did you choose to be a vampire? Or did you not have a choice."

By now, the blocks of ice that Evelyn was swirling around have now turned into little ice chips floating in a tiny pool of water at the bottom of the glass. Evelyn’s eyes followed the little chips around and around in the cup. It was almost hypnotic, in a way. Evelyn was finding some amusement doing this.
Her other senses were paying attention to everything around her. Once in a while, a very faint breeze would pass by Evelyn as the door to the club opened and a person walked by her. Quiet, little sniffs checked out if they were male or female humans. Most of them were skanky little females, unfortunately. A few good smelling men walked in, but they weren’t anywhere near dinner worthy for Evelyn. She was a picky eater.
"Honestly, who would?"
The bartender’s hand reached out and gently pulled Evelyn’s cup away from her. Damn, she was having fun with that too. Now she was forced too look up at something else. She sighed. Nothing else seemed interesting to look at. So, she just looked at the bartender mutt in front of her. She watched as he poured a second drank for her. Evelyn didn’t really want alcohol to drink right now. She only ordered it so she wouldn’t look stupid sitting here doing absolutely nothing.
The boy from the dance floor returned to his group by the bar. All of them eyed Evelyn, yet again, and then eyed the bartender. Their mouths smiled in excitement. Maybe they’d get lucky and Evelyn would get drunk and want to go home with one of them later on tonight.
HA, Silly little boys.
The bartender flashed one of his friendly, perfect smiles again. Hmmm, now that Evelyn thought about it, the smile was almost puppy-like. She smiled in amusement at that thought and accepted the second drink. She took a glup, set it down, and then her hand immediately went to the two tiny straws. She began swirling her drink around, again.
“Drinks are on me.”
Of course they are. Who would make Evelyn O’dell pay for a drink? She nodded. “Thanks.”
A few moment of just listening to music, and the bartender spoke, again.
”I didn’t choose it of course.”
Evelyn was slightly confused for a moment. Oh, wait. That’s right. She asked if he chose to be a werewolf. Of course he didn’t choose this. Very few people choose to become a vampire or a werewolf. It’s like one of those things everyone talks about doing, but only a few really believe in supernatural creatures, and only a few of them really have the actual balls to become a mutt or a vamp.
“If I had a choice, I would have chosen to be a vampire instead…”
What? Did he know about vampires as a human? Evelyn stopped playing with her drink and looked back up toward the mutt. Her eyes were a bit wide in shock. Well, vampire tales are more popular right now than around Evelyn’s time. Hmmm, she wondered if she believed in vampires, or even knew of their existence before the night she actually met one.
”… Sounds much more appealing than being a dog.”
She smirked at him as he gave her a wink. “Yeah, it is much better than being a mutt.” Evelyn didn’t need to become a werewolf to know that was true.
He walked away to serve a couple more people that just approached the bar. Evelyn put her attention back toward her drink.
"How about you? Did you choose to be a vampire? Or did you not have a choice."
That was a bit difficult question to answer. “Ummm….” Evelyn thought about her response.
She didn’t really know that the boy was a vampire until he bit her. She was so infatuated with him at the time, though. If Evelyn knew he was a vampire, and if he would’ve asked to become one her instead of just biting her, would she have said yes?
The Evelyn now would’ve said yes in a heartbeat.
The human Evelyn, from before 130 years ago, … well, she didn’t know what that Evelyn would’ve said.
“Kind of.” She answered in a normal tone. The humans around her couldn’t hear a word she said, but the furball bartender would’ve had no problem. “I probably would have chosen to become a vampire if I had the chance to choose.”
She glanced over at the group of boys that insisted on staring at her every second they were here. Her eyes narrowed at them for a moment, and then back at the bartender.
”Excuse me! I don’t think the drinks should be on you tonight.” She said as she glanced back over at the group of boys. Evelyn took her rum and coke, and downed the rest of it down, including the ice. “And I think I’ll take another, please.” She smiled.

Jaysin was standing right in between the vampire woman and the group of boys who insisted on gawking at her. He found it rather rude but what could he do? He couldn’t kick out a bunch of boys for simply staring at a woman. If staring women down wasn’t allowed in the club then well, Jay would have to have all the men removed. That was a main reason most female customers came to a place like this. To be stared at. To have their confidence lifted as if it wasn’t high enough as it was.
He caught a few remarks that were exchanged between the boys by accident. He had meant to keep his attention directed on Evelyn but he couldn’t help but listen to what these pigs had to say. Typical, hormonal remarks any boy their age would say. They were things Jay realized he had said at one point to his friends about a woman in the past. It disgusted him to think that he could be like them. A frown tempted to cross his lips but he fought it off, keeping the forced, half-assed smile on his face.
I wonder if she could hear them too. Probably. He quickly finished the few drinks the guys had ordered and set the glasses on top of the counter. He was about to tell them the price of the drinks but was rudely interrupted by what looked to be the youngest of the group. Rolling his eyes he listened carefully as the boy barked a few more orders. Judging by their cocky little attitudes, Jay knew he wasn’t going to be tipped well for this. That’s just great.
While he went back to making drinks he looked over towards Evelyn who was swirling her drink with the tiny straws again. He could tell by the look on her face that she was having trouble finding an answer to his question. It wasn’t that hard of a question. Not to him anyways. He had no idea how long ago it was when she was bitten so there was no way for him to know that she needed time to think over her answer.
”Kind of.”
Her answer made him chuckle slightly. Obviously she was still unsure of it. He began to wonder how she came to be what she was and why. Was it over love? Or was it something that just happened to fall onto her lap. Kind of like what had happened to him.
”I probably would have chosen to become a vampire if I had the chance to choose.”
”Interesting.” It was all he had time to say before he was bombarded with another batch of orders. Normally, he loved keeping busy. The more orders he got meant the busier he was which in turn meant his time at work flew by. Now, he had gotten caught up in a conversation with someone who was quite interesting. A vampire of all people is who he had indulged himself into a conversation with.
It was certain that if he had had a choice on whether to remain a human, become a vampire or a werewolf he would have chosen the vampire. For sure the ‘vampiric route’. It did sound much more fun than changing during every full moon into a crazy animal and not being able to control your actions or even remember what you had done that night. Just like getting totally shit faced at a bar. The thought made Jaysin smile. He was easily amused.
Quirking a brow, he finished one drink and placed it onto the counter top but turned his attention to Evelyn who called out.
”I don’t think the drinks should be on you tonight.
”And why not?” He didn’t fully comprehend what she was attempting to suggest. He realized that she had her gazed fixed elsewhere. Her eyes were set on the group of boys. Her fans. Quickly getting the hint he moved back over to her, taking the glass from her again. ”I’m sure I’m assuming right but, you want me to put all your drinks on their tab?” As he asked, he narrowed his eyes towards the men and nearly burst out in laughter as one of them waved shyly to her.
What a dumbass. He poured her another drink and handed it over to her. ”I’m Jaysin by the way so if you need another just holler my name.” Reluctantly, he pulled himself away from her to help another bartender with a batch of orders. And he thought it was going to be a slow night.

Her fingers picked up the two little straws, and she began playing with them on the counter. A smirk grew on her face as she overheard some more of the three little boy’s comments. They were just petty little compliments about her hair, breasts, legs, and more. Evelyn’s heard all of these compliments before, all of them from better looking men.
A couple drops of liquor dripped onto the bar from Evelyn’s straws. She poked at it for a moment, and then stretched it along the bar, making little lines and pictures with the droplets.
Her eyes shifted toward the boys. One of them was screaming orders at the little mutt bartender. Evelyn shifted her eyes toward him. He had a fake smile on his face as he began making their orders. Evelyn let out a little chuckle, and went back to her liquid drawings.
She still overheard everything going on in the club. She could hear the music, voices, and could smell the mix of alcohol, sweat, hormones, and blood in the air. But her mind wasn’t really paying attention to anything around her. That last question got Evelyn thinking about the night she was bitten. Thoughts of the handsome, charming vampire swirled through her head.
She didn’t even realize that the bartender came back until she heard his voice.
”And why not?”
Evelyn looked up, her expression a little dumbfounded. She had no idea what he was asking about. Evelyn glanced down at the cup as he took it away. She tried to remember what it was that she asked.
”I’m sure I’m assuming right but, you want me to put all your drinks on their tab?”
Oh, ha. She glanced over to the boys. One of them goofily waved at her. Evelyn smiled and laughed a bit as she turned her attention back to the mutt and nodded. “Yes. Put all of my drinks on their tab. I’m sure they’ll have no problem paying for me.”
She took yet another drink from him, and began to sip on it through the straws. What was this, now? Drink number three? Evelyn figured that she’d add a couple of more drinks before she left the bar.
”I’m Jaysin by the way so if you need another just holler my name.”
Evelyn nodded again toward the mutt. She went straight back to sipping – actually, more like gulping – her drink and making liquid pictures on the counter. Her eyes directed themselves toward the bartender after a while. She was getting kind of bored and wanted to leave, but there was no one he knew in Hollywood to take her somewhere fun.
Hmm…
“Hey, Jay!” She called out and tapped the glass. In a lower tone, she asked. “What time do you get off work?”

Bobbing his head to the beat of the music Jaysin grabbed a bottle of Skyy Vodka by the neck and with a simple flick of his wrist he threw the bottle up in the air, watching as it did a few flips then caught it again without spilling a single drop. Regardless of his left shoulder hurting he decided to give Evelyn and some other customers a little show. Sure it wouldn’t be his best but it was better than nothing. Bringing the bottle back around, he threw the bottle upward behind his back as he spun on his heel to face the bottle and catch it before it fell to the ground. The tricks were simple. Too simple. He wanted to do something more exciting but was worried about embarrassing himself in front of the crowd.
Moving back to the counter he poured a few shots into a couple of glasses and motioned for the other bartender to finish making the drinks. He placed the vodka bottle back where it originally was placed and watched as his fellow bartender performed a few, more exciting tricks. Normally he would try to outshine the young barkeep but tonight wasn’t the night to be doing such things. Maybe some other time. For once, he wasn’t letting his arrogance get the best of him. How surprising.
His gaze fell back to the group of boys who for a moment, turned their attention to one of the go-go dancers on a small stage near by. It wasn’t long before one of them brought Evelyn up again. He grinned as one suggested that she would be better off on the stage then the young girl that was currently there. It was true though. The vampire was much more beautiful than the human girl but the question was could Evelyn dance as well as the human? Most likely. The thought made Jaysin chuckle.
Relief washed over Jaysin as the third bartender finally showed up. The one he had been helping was bombarded with more orders by the obnoxious group of men and he was getting tired of making drinks for them. He instructed the new barkeep to help the other and made his way over to Evelyn again. He had heard her call out and was curious as to what she wanted. Another drink most likely.
”What time do you get off work?”
Baffled by the question, he quirked a brow then lifted his shoulders and rolled them in a shrug. ”Any time I want to. I’m the manager slash owner of this place so I don’t really have to be here.” he explained as he leaned forward, resting his arms against the counter. ”Why do you ask?”
Jaysin figured she was either getting sick of being gawked at or was simply getting bored. Regardless of what she was feeling, he wouldn’t mind leaving work early to do whatever she was wanting to do. The woman was quiet intimidating though. She was obviously the type that was quick-witted and headstrong. He found that quite intriguing to say the least.
Then he realized something. The vampire had never told him his name. A grin danced across his face as he stood upright again, wiping his hands on his towel. ”You know,” he started as he picked up the bottle of rum. He shook it a bit and looked towards her cup wondering if he should pour her another one or not. ”You never told me your name.” He decided to just wait until she ordered another one.

It was only ten o’clock, and Hollywood already looked dead in this club. The music was bumping loud, and a lot more people were now on the dance floor, but no one here was fun or interesting. Everyone in this club was so … normal. Everyone was so routine. There were the rich boys in suits that just got off work, and only came here to see if they can pick up a girl or two to take to their lonely homes tonight. There were the younger girls who would easily fall for their money, and the college boys who simply had nothing better to do than to gawk at gorgeous females that they would never have a chance with. Ever.
Then there were the club workers. The D.J. would go on all night playing outdated, overplayed music. The bartenders would do flips and tricks with their shiny little bottles, just so eight bucks for a drink didn’t seem so overpriced after all. The bouncers, who Evelyn would usually befriend first, would just sit there with their intimidating looks, ready to jump into any shit that goes down.
It was a very normal club-looking place. There was nothing new here, except for that Asian wolf kid. He was a very happy, interesting boy. Hmmm … A wolf that wanted to become a vampire. Yes, that was very interesting. She glanced over at him as he arrived to her little spot on the bar. She hoped that the boy got off soon. The night was young and she was incredibly bored. Evelyn was desperate for someone to take her out through out the town right now.
”Any time I want to. I’m the manager slash owner of this place so I don’t really have to be here. Why do you ask?”
YES! If there was a god, Evelyn would kiss his feet right now. Okay, maybe not, but she was excited to hear this news. Instantly, she smiled, flashing her pearly white fangs for just a moment. She overheard yet another comment from the three little boys, who thought that her smile toward Jay was more flirtatious than friendly. Evelyn’s smile grew a bit as she rolled her eyes. Boys can be so silly sometimes.
The pup held up a bottle of rum, but seemed a little hesitant about filling up Evelyn’s drink, again. He might as well, even if she wasn’t going to drink it. It’s not like he was the one paying for it.
”You know, you never told me your name.”
Evelyn looked around the bar real quick. There was a group of girls that she overheard earlier. They were saying something about hating Evelyn because the three little boys wouldn’t stop staring at here. Oh, there they were, by the door. Evelyn looked back at the bartender and smiled some more.
“Evelyn. I’ll take another rum and coke, please. And, see those four girls over there?” Evelyn pointed to the far end of the bar, near the door. “The blonde one loves sour apple martinis, the other blonde with the nose piercing and horrible black streaks in her hair? Yea, she’s a tough one. Get her a jack on the rocks. The brunette doesn’t drink, club soda for her, and I don’t think the black haired one can handle anything stronger than a good ol’ fashioned cosmo.” She got up from her seat and nudged her head toward her fan boys. “I’m sure they won’t mind paying for all of it. Meet you out front in five.” If he was a good bartender, five minutes was plenty of time.
She didn’t even bother drinking the rum and coke she ordered. She walked by the four girls, who didn’t look so happy to see her there, and leaned on the bar for a moment.
”Good evening, ladies.” She had to speak in a louder tone. Human ears were so weak. “Those boys over there think you’re hot. They just ordered you some drinks, on them. Enjoy.” She flashed her pearly whites again and walked away from the girls.
“Did you see that? She looked like she had fangs!! … Like, she was a vampire or something!”
Silly little girls. Vampires don’t exist.

It didn’t surprise him that she wanted another drink. She wasn’t paying for it anyways and neither was he so he didn’t mind at all. He took the glass from her once more but placed it in the sink getting her a completely new one. Scooping ice into the small glass, he let his attention fall to the small group of bachelorettes who seated themselves at the end of the bar. They had purposely isolated themselves from Evelyn in an attempt to have attention drawn away from her and onto them but it hadn’t worked.
”Here you go miss Evelyn.” Once he had finished making the simple rum and coke order, he slid the cup across the counter before her, keeping his gaze fallen on the other women. He mentally noted the drinks Evelyn listed out, putting a face to each order as she went through each girl. Turning his attention back to the vampire he quirked a brow in wonder. His lips parted slightly to ask how she knew what she wanted but didn’t bother as she nodded towards the mini fan club she had started.
”I’m sure they won’t mind paying for all of it. Meet you out front in five.”
Well, it was going to be a pretty hefty bill once the night was over. He simply nodded his head toward Evelyn and watched as she walked off leaving the drink in front of him. Unlike her, Jay hated seeing alcohol go to waste so instead of leaving the drink there he took it for her, finishing the drink in one gulp. It was quite refreshing and he was tempted to make himself another but decided against it. Besides he only have a few minutes to make four drinks.
Making his way over to the end of the bar, he grabbed the four cups he needed and set one in front of each girl. ”Good evening ladies.” He shot them a toothy grin trying to ignore the fact that they were shooting him puzzled looks. Before any of them could protest he began to go through the drinks Evelyn assigned to each one of them and began mixing.
Pouring the first drink, he winked over to the blond before him. ”Here’s your apple martini.” He garnished it with a cherry and moved onto the next drink. ”And for you.” Moving to the blond with the streaks, he scooped ice into her cup and with his free hand pouredJack into the cup. ”Jack on the rocks.” He set the bottle down and moved over to the girl beside her. He grined and began mixing the ingredients needed for a Cosmo. in an eight ounce shaker before pouring the drink into the glass. ”Here is your Cosmo. ma’am.”
Finally he slid himself over to the last girl. She had the most simple drink of the night. A coke. He grabbed the spout from behind the counter, reached over, and let the soda fill her cup to the top after he scooped ice into it. ”And no need to worry ladies, the drinks are on those men tonight.” He gestured towards the men Evenlyn pointed out to them already. He shot them one last smile before stepping back into the back room.
Reaching back behind him he began to untie the little apron he had on and tossed it aside onto a small chair along with his towel. He looked up towards the wall clock and grinned. It only took him threem inutes to make the drinks. He made his way to his locker and opened it, grabbing his leather jacket. Normally he brought clothes to change into but he wasn’t planning on going out tonight. Sighing to himself he slipped into the jacket and walked out onto the club floor.
He zig zagged in between people, careful not to push or shove and finally made it to the door. Nodding towards the bouncer he pulled a cigarette from his jacket pocket and fiddled with it for a moment. ”Headin’ out early tonight but I’ll be back tomorrow.” He then placed the cigarette between his lips and left it there unlit as he walked over to Evelyn. ”So where did you want me to take you? The cigarette moved up and down with each word he spoke.
