Adam Vagus stood in the parking lot of the fast food joint his friend Jacob Reichman told him to meet him at. He leaned against his red and black Bugatti Veyron and watched as Jake approached him. It'd been a few weeks since they'd last met in a bar in Hollywood when Adam was drowning his sorrows over the loss of Emiste. That loss coupled with his romance with Amelie not even getting off the ground had made him depressed and full of self pity, something that pissed him off. Adam hated self pity.
Thus his decision to go into exile, to travel off and find himself out in the world. He felt that only by cutting all ties and just being out on his own he could find out who he really was and go on with his life. He needed to get his mind on other things and work wasn't cutting it. In fact he had been making a ton of mistakes and only causing more headaches for his employees.
Then Jake had called him, saying that he had heard of Adam's decision and wanted to join him. This surprised Adam as they weren't that close and it surprised him even more when he heard himself accept his offer. He had originally planned on going it alone but now here he was waiting to pick up Jake. What other surprises was in store for him?

Jacob Reichman walked over to meet his friend and smiled at little. "Thanks for letting me come along," he said. "I really appreciate it." This was the truth, like Adam Jake needed some time alone. Womanizer though he was leaving Katra had hurt terribly. He had been so sure she was the one, just as Adam had been of Emiste, and like his friend he had turned out to be dead wrong. It seemed like nowadays good guys like them just couldn't compete in the field of love.
And they say that the best thing about being a good guy is that they get the girl in the end, Jake thought bitterly. Right, if that's true then where are mine and Adam's? How come we're both left heartbroken? He looked at his friends car and whistled. "The Bugatti huh? You must really be serious about leaving the past behind."
Jake wished he had a car like Adam's, wished he had one period. One to call his own, any that he had were rentals and though nice he wanted one of his own. Even a Yugo would be fine in his eyes. All he wanted was a car of his own. He stopped drooling over Adam's car and looked at his friend. He seemed so tired and saddened. "I'm ready when you are."

Ali was pissed. More then pissed. She was fuming. How could Adam do this?! She was walking down the street with angry strides and determination. She was a good tracker. She was going to find him and bring him home. He couldnt leave! Not now! Not after she had made friends with him! She always lost her friends. She was worried about Inora and Rose all the time. And now Nix. That poor girl. Now Adam was slamming this in her face.
She could still remember the moment she had been told. It made her upset and angry. She had been trying to sneak in of course, like always. But when she got in she had noticed and felt the sadness looming. What was going on? She walked up to someone and they told her about the email. Adam hadnt left long ago. She knew she should have went to Landon. But if she didnt track Adam now she would never find him. So she had been tracking him since that moment.
She was starting to get ready to give up when she noticed a car up ahead. Her eyes widened as she recognized the person inside. She sprinted forward as fast as her legs could carry her. She reached the car and tears were streaming down her pale cheeks. She didnt know what to do or say. All she knew was that she had found him. She leaned on the car for a minute and then snapped her eyes back to his. The tears only made her gaze more fierce. "You!" She said. She wanted to punch the car. But she wouldnt.
She held on to it though. If he tried to drive off she would just follow. She had this whole speech planned and everything for when she found him. But what came out was a hushed, "Why?"

Adam was grinning as Jake as drooled over his car. What a character Jake was, he would defiantly be fun to have along. Adam was beginning to like Jake and had to admit that he wasn't completely looking forward to going alone. He would glad to share Jake's company, so long as he didn't offer him that wicked whiskey he always had on hand.
"Uh oh," Adam said when he noticed who was running to wards them. It was Ali and she was visibly upset, tears staining her lovely face. It hurt him to see her like this but there was nothing he could do. She had latched onto his car and didn't seem inclined to let go any time soon. Sure he could of told Jake ta get in and just zoomed off but that was the cowards way out and besides, Ali was like a sister to him. Dragging her along just wouldn't be the right thing ta do, plain and simple.
"You! Why?"
Adam was at a loss for words for a second or two then found them. "Because I feel I must. I feel that I have to let you all go so that I can find myself," he said trying not let the hurt he felt show but knowing he was failing. This was perhaps the hardest thing he had ever done, telling his friends he was leaving. No, not his friends. His FAMILY, the people who meant the most to him. He felt like he was letting them down and perhaps he was but he knew that he had to do this. He needed time to gather his thoughts, to find out what life had for him now. If he found that out it would be worth the pain and suffering.

Jacob Reichman heard the Uh oh from his friend and watched as a vampire came running up to them and grabbed hold of the car. She had been crying and she looked hurt too. Was this one of the family members Adam had told him about? If so Jake envied him. Having people who cared for you was something not to be taken lightly. He was glad he wasn't in Adam's shoes. Jake would just sat there stuttering.
"I better leave you two alone," Jake said walking a few feet away and turning his back to them. He didn't want to get between a distraught sister and her brother. This was there time not his so he focused on the trip ahead. Where they would go. What they would do. So many options and so little time.
Pulling out his flask and taking a swig of it Jake noticed a hot young woman approaching them. Had this been the old him Jake would of started hitting on her while Adam was otherwise occupied. However this wasn't the old Jake so instead he just looked at her and nodded. Besides, she seemed more interested in his friend than him anyways.

Amelie heard a rumor he was leaving and though she didn't know why, she felt like she needed to find him before he left. They had gotten off to a good start, he'd seemed interested in her - and now this? She was confused. Yes her work kept her busy, maybe that was it, maybe he couldn't deal with her line of work. She had no idea how she had managed to find him, but as she walked towards the car and the group of three, she knew she had.
The sight of him made her smile instinctively - just as he had attracted her that night at the club, he did now. She had no idea who the other two were, but it didn't matter. She saw the other guy looking at her as she approached, and she smiled to herself - it was nice to be appreciated - but kept her eyes on Adam. No use giving off the wrong signals.
Adam intrigued and attracted her - and she didn't know why. In truth she knew so very little of him. And yet...here she was...why was she here? To see him before he left? To ask him why he was leaving? To ask him not to leave? That last thought gave her a jolt - ask him not to leave? God....was she falling for him? Already? And even if she was, she'd never ask that of him...if he needed to go, who was she to ask him to stay? A mere acquaintance - she didn't even know what he thought of her, if he thought of her.
"Adam." she called his name.

Miko had caught wind of the situation. She knew little of what was going on, but she knew there were broken hearts involved. And Miko, being the kind-hearted and sympathetic girl she was, wanted terribly to help in some way. Adam had been pleasant to her at the Thanksgiving feast and Jacob...Well...Yes. Jacob.
Miko pat down her soft skirt as it billowed in the wind. She had no desire to see either of the gentlemen leave their homes. But she understood. It was necessary from time to time. What had really drawn Miko here was the distress some of her fellow vampires were feeling over the move. The change was disheartening to some of the members of their werewolf...group...pack...Whatever....Miko was sure. But at this point it seemed only vampires were upset that the mutts had decided to up and leave.
Miko spotted them and sighed quietly. One of the vampires she had seen before was already speaking to Adam. She was obviously distraught. "Oh..." Miko sighed softly, "...I hope she doesn't break his car. That would be a shame..." Miko moved gracefully toward Jacob, to remain out of the way of the other pair. "My. What could possibly happen to make two such wonderful men buckle and leave, hmm?" Miko knew only that there was heartache, not what caused it. Her natural curiosity was killing her.

Never before in her life had an email caused so much hurt and destruction, though truthfully if anyone could find a way to do that it would probably be Adam. When she'd gotten the mass company email, Inora had been excited at first, thinking that Adam had some new big party planned for them. But as she'd read through the email her heart had started to break.
He was leaving them, all the people who needed him most, just up and leaving. It made no sense for him to do so, though Inora wasn't aware of everything going on in his life. All she knew was that her mentor and father-figure was leaving her.
Had she done something wrong?
When she'd finished the email, Inora had been like a child after a sudden divorce. She'd started crying immediately and hadn't stopped much since then. She had a huge headache, her face was all red and splotchy, and she felt like she would need to tear out her heart just to make it stop hurting so much.
She'd followed Ali to the parking lot, but she had stopped at the edge because there were already too many people yelling and crying and questioning. She sat, leaning against a car, her legs pulled tight to her chest, crying as she looked at one of the people she had come to love the most, who was going to leave her soon. But no matter how true that was, she didn't want him to be hurt and she knew that seeing Ali and Amelie would hurt him, and seeing Inora added into that would hurt him worse.
She would sit here and say her silent good-bye while her heart ached for the man who was closer to her than any father or brother could ever have been.

"I know I'm hurting you, Landon, and the pack but I don't know what else ta do," Adam continued. "I'm truly at a loss here. All I know is what I feel and right now that is the need to get away from it all." He reached out and placed his hand on Ali's, giving it a gentle squeeze. "I'm sorry Ali but this is all I can come up with right now. I don't meant to hurt you all but I gotta do this. At least, that's what I believe."
Adam was about ta say more when a familiar voice sent a jolt through him. He knew that voice just like he knew only one other. Looking past Ali he spotted the last person he thought would be here, Amelie. He felt whatever control over his emotions he had leave him as she walked to wards him. The sadness and anger he felt clearly visible on his face now. He was sad because he felt something for her and thought that she didn't return those feelings. Angered because he had so easily fallen for someone who he felt had hurt him. The anger though wasn't directed at her but at himself for he had allowed himself to fall for her.
Adam was speechless for several minutes as he just sat there looking at her. She was so beautiful, so graceful. she was everything he had wanted in a woman. Drop dead looks coupled with an amazing mind. Who else would be able to tell what a person was like just from what they drank? When he was finally able to speak Adam didn't say much. He couldn't, not yet at least so all that came out was soft spoken "Amelie."

Jacob had been too lost in thought so he hadn't noticed when Miko approached him until she spoke. He was thinking of what they were gonna do with Adam's car if they decided to head to Europe. Would they keep it at his place or sell it? Jake hoped Adam would keep it. It'd be a shame to lose such a great car.
"My. What could possibly happen to make two such wonderful men buckle and leave, hmm?"
Jake looked at the beautiful vampire and smiled weakly, "A lot of things sweetie. Mostly just plain sadness and heartache." Jake didn't know why he was telling her this. Perhaps he was slightly jealous of the fact that Adam had so many that truly cared for him and didn't want him to leave? Jake had nobody that cared, well except perhaps Katra. They hadn't parted on bad terms but then she had probably already found someone new by now.
"So what brings you here? Come to say your goodbyes or try and stop Adam from going?" He sighed and looked up at the night sky. "If the latter I doubt you can stop him. He seems pretty dead set on this. Has already handed over leadership of Blackwell to Landon. Blackwell is his baby, he wouldn't give it up easily. No, he's dead set on this."

Ali listened and she fought off tears. She was trying not to cry. Ans trying to be strong. She needed to head back. Support Landon who was now leader. She just didnt want to give up on Adam. But she could tell she wasnt going to change his mind. He was set on this. And there wasnt anything that could change that. When he squeezed her hand she couldnt help herself. She fell to her knees by the side of the car and cried for a few seconds, while Adam was distracted.
She then wiped them away with the back of her hand. No one was going to see her cry. Ever again. Never. She made that vow. Tears got her no where. And she would just need to suck it up. She stood up once the other girl got to the car and she nodded her goodbye to Adam. It would be easier that way anyway. She then smelt Inora. She sprinted over to her and touched her fair hair gently and then kneeled down beside her. She wanted to just wrap into a hug with Inora.
Ali shook her head. The tears were gone. The emotion was gone. They were all loosing a dear friend. One who had been there in times that they needed him most. She remembered when she had escaped Sev. She had gone to Adam. He had helped her in the middle of the night. She would miss him. She really would. "Bye Adam...we are all going to miss you."
((oh and im going to post with Kat. So no leaving yet!! XD But i gotta go for now))

Miko glanced slowly and studiously between the two men, her face impassive and cold. 'What a shame...' she thought as she listened to Jacob. 'That these men feel the need to go so far away...' She sighed delicately and brushed her hand over her shoulder, pushing her loose hair away from her pale, delicate neck. Her nose wrinkled just slightly at the smell of lycans and a human, but she never could get over the stench of wolves and the lust of human blood.
She turned her head toward Jacob and tilted her head to the side. Her eyes were slightly widened in surprise. "What right have I to come tell Adam what to do? Or you? I simply heard a rumor and wished to know if it were accurate. I hear alot through the grapevine that passes through my home." She turned toward Adam again. "I will be sad to see him go, but I'm sure I'll see him again. Someday."
Miko turned back toward Jacob and a soft smile spread across her face. "Heartbreak. I understand that feeling..." She paused as she looked to the ground for but a moment and her eyes rose again to meet with Jacob's. "Well, Europe is a distance...I hear that's where you're headed. If you stop in New York City along the way, the two of you can feel free to stop by my home. I live in an appartment near Hell's Kitchen." Miko paused, turning toward Adam again. "The both of you are welcome to visit anytime..."

Adam turned to her - whispered her name - and she froze. The look on his face, there was such sadness there. But anger too - why? At her? They barely knew each other, but she knew enough about him to know she wanted to know more. There was something...different...and alluring....about him.
She froze where she was, suddenly feeling uncomfortable with so many gathered here who were obviously much more entitled to this time of goodbye than she was. But there was more that lingered in the air here. And Amelie could not figure it out. It was just a feeling, an aura that surrounded everyone gathered here. It was....confusing. Undescribable. And it made her a little uneasy. Almost as if some primal instinct was instantly triggered and on guard.
Thus she did not advance. She didn't feel threatened by Adam, but with the aura of the group...she felt silly for it....but if she had to describe how she felt, threatened was a good word to use - even though no one but Adam had said a word to her or even barely glanced her way.
What was it?? It picked at her....but she did her best to smile at Adam across the distance between them. Tapping toes of her right foot in the dirt behind her left foot and looking down at the ground. She felt horribly out of place for some reason, and would just wait there until Adam had a free moment - or maybe he wouldn't come over to talk to her and she would just watch him leave....and always wonder what might have been.
She fidgeted with her fingers and glanced up furtively.

Adam was so caught up in looking at Amelie that he didn't notice Ali crying or Inora coming and crying also. Even so, he was aware enough to know when Ali moved away from the car so he could get out. Opening his door Adam stepped out onto the parking lot and walked up to the woman that for better or worse he had feelings for. He didn't know why, they'd only known each other for a short period of time. All he knew was that he did and it was driving him crazy. It was time to do something about it.
Without a word he grabbed her and pulled her against him, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her with all the love he felt for her. All the passion and romance left his body to fill hers. He knew that this might be the last time he ever saw her again so he wanted at least this time they shared together to stick in her mind.
Letting go he simply spoke her name again, softly as before. He couldn't say much more yet he wasn't sure he wanted to. His words had already hurt so many today, he didn't want to hurt her as well. So he just stood there holding her, stroking her hair and holding her tight against him. This one moment he was like the old Adam Vagus, the wolf that did what he pleased with women causing them to fall for him even more because he was so unlike every other man they had met. What had happened to that man? What had caused him to become what claimed to be the current Adam Vagus? This was something he intended to find out.

Miko's eyes widened as her face snapped away from Jacob and toward Adam as he moved across the lot toward the human girl. What in the world...? She had not heard of this. And, while she did not hear everything through her grapevine, she heard most of the interesting things. And this certainly counted. Adam and a human girl...Hmm...
Miko stared at them. Curiosity was one of her vices. She could feel it rushing through her. Miko paid a little more care with her sences as she inhaled deeply and a soft laugh burst forth from her lips. Even without Adam wrapped around the girl, Miko should have recognised his scent on her. How amusing.
Miko's eyes never left the couple, but she turned slightly to address Jacob. "My, my, Jacob. How long has that been going on?" Miko paused for a second and put a few pieces together in her head, unsure as to whether she was right or not. "Is this his little heartache?"
