((OOC: If anyone is interested in how this plot originated, you can read the original thread here: thecrimsonkiss.proboards83.com/index.cgi?board=streets&action=display&thread=836&page=1)) Colette made a wide sweeping gesture as they entered the park, grinning a bit wildly. The wind had a slight chill to it, and the moon was nearly full. It lent an ethereal glow to the entire landscape and gave everything a new shape. The shrubbery was silhouetted so blackly that it seemed a void, and inky fountains murmured continuously somewhere out of sight. On the breeze there came the cold, wet smell of grass and Colette relished in it, but as to what other interesting scents might be emanating from the park, she wasn't certain. She was certain Aubrey and Shaden had guessed where she was leading them long before they arrived, but she was delighted by her own idea nonetheless. The park was a wide open, natural sort of space. But it was also a public space. A human space. And one thing was certain-- where there were humans there were werewolves. The adorable little mutts loved humans even more than Colette did! Especially given the time of night, this was the perfect place for the trio to begin their hunt. Colette hopped gracefully atop the back of nearby bench, squatting like a gargoyle. "Well?" she asked her companions, leering like the monster she was so perfectly impersonating. "It's a great place to begin, isn't it? There are probably werewolves crawling all over this joint... Werewolves and who knows what else." Colette leaped to her feet and began balancing on the bench's back like a gymnast. "We could probably just sit here and let them come to us! There's no fun in that, though. We have to let them know we're looking for them." She was doing a handstand now, chuckling to herself as she managed to use only one hand, then to lower one leg. "They aren't very bright, of course." Colette sighed, shaking her head. "So we'll have to be obvious."She leaped to her feet again with an abrupt ferocity, this time on the ground, fists on her waist in an open, optimistic stance. She cupped her hands around her mouth and yelled, [glow=red,2,400]"COME OUT, COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE!" [/glow]with all the volume that her supernatural abilities would allow her, so that there wasn't a creature in the park that wouldn't be rattled by her thunderous clarion call. Then she threw back her head and laughed loudly, a little tickled by an image of a vampire attempting to play a clarion. Colette paused, listening to the echo of her voice with a kind of satisfaction before frowning suddenly. She turned to her companions, deathly serious. "Be honest with me. That was too cliche, wasn't it?"

Aubrey felt her heart begin to pump faster. This was a bad idea. It was funny and seemingly harmless at first, but now after Colette's open invitation she began to worry. Her idea of picking at a werewolf was not this. She thought maybe going to a bar, having a few drinks, and being able to blame it all on being too intoxicated...this was going to the extreme.
Aubrey turned to Colette, trying to mask her worry. "I was thinking more like Warriors...Come out and plaaaaay, but what you did works." She smiled and shook her head. It was hard for her to worry with Colette. She always seemed to keep Aubrey from too much trouble. This was the last time she would recommend what to do though.
"Colette, make sure I stay in one piece. Who will take care of you when i am gone?" Aubrey smiled at her, giving her the 'kissy kissy' fingers.

Adam Vagus gazed up at the sky for the tenth time as he jogged through the park and ounce again felt fear's icy grip upon him. No, not now, he thought. I'm so close to my hotel. Picking up his pace, he broke into a run, shoving past a couple walking hand-in-hand, ignoring the man's shout. He was halfway there when he caught it, the stench of death he had learned long ago belonged to the walking corpses called vampires. Turning to his left he saw three people standing near a park bench, one of them standing with her back to him talking to the others. Adam's left hand instinctively went to the Colt .45 he always carried in his shoulder holster. Should he continue running, or stay and fight?

October could smell fresh cut grass, wild flowers, evergreen trees, it would have been nice but the scent of a werewolf overcame the other smells. Her nose wrinkled in disgust, filthy mutts.
She had heard a thunderous call and she let out a deep sigh as she sniffed the air finally catching on to the scent of some vampires mixed with the humans in the park. "They must be young or stupid," October grumbled. Sure she hated werewolves, would fight them if they ever crossed her path, but calling them out. October continued walking, her black dress swaying with her steps, her knee high stiletto boots clicked against the cobblestone path.
She stopped in her tracks, she could see the werewolf, his back turned to her his hand reached for something, she assumed a weapon of sorts. "Hey mutt afraid to fight with your fists?" She called maliciously.

Shaden smiled at Colette thunderous call. Short and simple. he held back a laugh and turned to look at Aubrey "Don't worry, sweetheart, I'll watch your back. Then the smell of werewolf was in the air and Shaden spun his head around and saw the wolf at once, along with yet another vampiress. "I guess that call of yours worked Colette." He said softly.
Shaden took a few steps toward the wolf, walking past the two females. Things were about to get interesting and there was no way in hell, he was going to be on the sidelines watching a fight. Oh no. Shaden wouldn't be watching thats for sure.
It seemed to Shaden, that the werewolf was trying to decide whether to fight or run. Shaden was ready for both. If the mutt ran, he would chase. If the mutt attacked, that was even better.

"Dead's dead whether it's by fists or bullets," Adam replied over his shoulder. "Besides, I've never cared what others have thought about me anyways." He glanced up at the moon again. Still partly covered, but for how long? He didn't know about the rest of his kind, he rarely mingled with them, but he feared changing under the full moon. He'd rather die than be saved by the mindless beast the moon made him. Drawing his Colt Adam said,"So, are we going to start this party or can I leave? I have more important things to do than play with ya'll."

"A mutt like you? I doubt it, better things to do," October waved a manicured hand, her nails were painted in a clear coat, silver gems attached, her nails glimmered in the pale moon light, she looked up, still mostly hidden by clouds. "Filty scum, I'd personally dispose of you but I just got my nails done, I'd hate to see them tarnished by blood such as yours. Sickening."
October had a air about her. Confidence, strenght and beauty radiated from her. She may seem like a little delicate flower, but she was more powerful then most knew. Centuries of strenght. over 700 years of imortality down. She'd disposed of so many werewolves she'd lost count. She wished she had her gun on her, filled with beautiful silver bullets.
"Though I don't wish for a fight, it seems the young'ins do," She had noticed the other vampires, they seemed to be itching for a fight. "I personally don't mind watching others do the work." She smiled, dazzling but filled with venom.

Shaden laughed at the wolf "Yes. Dead is dead. So you wont mind then if I take out my own gun then do you?" He said mockingly, and pulled out his revolver, His favorite weapon, and in fact the only weapon he had on him tonight. It was strange for him but it didn't really matter. Weapons or not, he didn't need them. He just liked them. But then he heard the vampiress speak and he stopped what he was doing. Young! Him?! What on earth was she thinking? He let out a low hiss, forgetting about the wolf for the time being "I'm not young, sweetheart, and it would be better for you if you learned that real quick." His voice, normally smooth and like silk was low and deadly. Shaden would just as soon as fight his own kind right along with the werewolf.
At the thought of the wolf he turned back to him and took a few more step closer to him, his gun at his side ready and waiting.

October rolled her eyes "details, details love." Fellow vampires had more bite then werewolves, yes she realized now he was a few hundred years older than her, she rolled her eyes and muttered, how she dispised being incorrect.
The other one though, the female was young sure she had a century under her belt, October had no doubts that the young woman could dispose of the werewolf, especially with her friends. October then realized there was a human. Oh you must be kidding she sighed, Vampires with a human. Pitiful.
She realized she was out of practice, being with her kind, her gifts. She didn't care much about her nails now. She'd take a fight with a wolf now. Or a vampire if he decided to get mouthy again.

Sevanni had been watching them all for quite some time now. He wanted what they all wanted. He needed to see how they were before doing so. His coat sweeping the ground as he glided side to side on his heels. He was getting anxious.
Within seconds he was a mere blur coming up on the group. He kept a good distance, so no one would come at him violently. His footsteps making no sound.
"Your not going to start the fun without me are you?"
He said with his arms out grinning. He could have laughed at any moment. The dog not far. It was funny. Sevanni did laugh.
His head turned towards his right, and he winked at the one with the boots. She dressed to his style, and was so amazed at how many vampires actually kept the trend of goth these days. But hell, the mortals were doing it. Thieves!
"Did I miss anything?"
He asked now, arms by his side, taking a stance of defence if anything popped off at him. Before Shaden made a move, Sevanni quickly came up behind him and put him in a lock hold. An athame gleaming in the moonlight certainly felt powerful in his hand as he held it to this throat.
"You got two choice. One, you can get away with your ratty tail tucked between your legs you filthy mut. Or two, I can......"
The blade slid across his throat as he spoke.
"Enjoy having be killed by this vivacious element we call female? Your choice."

Aubrey was amazed at the quickness of everything. One moment the three of them had been making petty jokes, now there was actually a fight happening. Things were getting ugly fast. She felt more comfortable having both Colette and Shaden watching her back. She could handle her own for a little while, but it seemed like things were quickly progressing.
Another male vampire was suddenly there. She eyed him carefully. He was arrogant and that made him dangerous. Stupid, but still dangerous. Strike one. Aubrey watched him take a defensive stance behind Shaden. She was starting to become confused, then before she could really fathom what was happening he had Shaden in a lock with a blade at his throat. How could he mistake Shaden for a werewolf? Strike two.
Before she had time to think she was running. Pulling a knife from a sheath hidden around her calf, she dropped to her knees right behind Sevanni. She thrust the knife up between his legs. "If you make one more move, I will cut off your fucking nads." Her grip on the knife was so tight her knuckles began to turn white and her hands began to ache. "I don't know if you could grow the pair back, but if you don't back away from him, we're all going to find out."
She lifted the knife higher. She had never thought she would have to use it. Alexander had made her take it before he left for New Orleans. Boy, would he be surprised when he found out that it had come in handy. She gritted her teeth.
Aubrey was kneeling in the park with a knifed shoved in a vampires groin, defending a vampire she had just met, while two hostile werewolves and two other vampires stood around her. Shaden probably didn't need her help, but he had promised to keep an eye out for her. That meant something to Aubrey. She wasn't about to let another vampire try to slit his throat thinking he was a werewolf.

OOC-Sorry, i was supposed to put Vagus down, not Shaden. IC-
Sevanni hadn't even known what was going on. He thought that he had everything down packed. Now this woman was trying to cut off his junk. Sevanni's face went dead calm. Awkward almost. He could feel the cool steel, and his hands slowly moved away from the man. His eyes lowered. He was really looking at the woman.
"Look, i'm letting go."
He said calmly. His hands in the air, but before she had a chance to even try anything, he gripped his legs together, spun around, re-opened his legs, and kicked the woman dead in her chest. His defenses were high, no one could understand that. Always on guard. It was his job.
The knife dropped to the ground, and Sevanni picked it up. The blade in the palm of his hand, he walked over to the woman to hand it to her. Holding it out, handle facing her.
"All you had to do was ask sweetheart."
His face went bold and icy.

Adam laughed to himself at the show the vampires were putting on. First one ticks off another by calling him young, then a vamp mistakes one of his own for a werewolf. This was too much. Adam turned to his right and calmly continued walking to his hotel, his gun still in his hand, his finger switching off the safety just in case. "Tell ya what, ya'll call me when you have your acts together and then we'll fight."

Colette watched the exchange as it unfolded, her relaxed posture betraying only mild interest but her sparkling blue eyes and triumphant smirk conveying quite the opposite.
Well that had worked rather well, hadn't it? Shockingly well. She'd have to put it down in her playbook. However, it did seem that Colette had made a miscalculation which would now require some thoughtful adjustment.
Colette's little cry had gotten the attentions of a female vamp-- an old one, too, far older than everyone except Shaden, who still reigned supreme in that category by a landslide. There was something venomous about the woman; it was obvious she would take some sort of pleasure offing a werewolf, even if it was just for the sake of feeling flesh against her fingers.
Then there was the male vampire, much younger but not without a particular air of confidence, who seemed just as eager to get in on the action... in a big way.
Add that to Shaden, Colette, and Aubrey-- an ally not to be discredited merely on account of her unfortunate mortality-- and you had a regular ambush. It wasn't really fair, was it? And anyone who'd ever worked in the theatre knew that an unfair fight was just about as boring as things could get.
Colette's expression changed drastically when the male vampire kicked Aubrey.
"Hey, watch it," she said, stepping defensively between the two and offering her hand to Aubrey help her get up. "I brought her here. Touch her again and I'll take personal offense." Colette made it obvious that she had no problem with the other vamp-- yet. But she wasn't about to let things escalate beyond her control either. More than that Colette couldn't really say-- after all, Aubrey had threatened to castrate the guy. Colette chuckled and shook her head. Good ol' Aubrey. Such fearlessness was a waste in a human being.
Her gaze snapped to the werewolf when she heard him break into laughter.
"Tell ya what," he said. "Ya'll call me when you have your acts together and then we'll fight."
Colette went to his side, laughing with him. "That's right," she said, throwing her arm around the man's shoulders. "You call yourselves vampires? Pathetic! Even outnumbered, we could take you on with one hand tied behind our backs, me and my friend--" she paused, considering. "What's your name, mon ami?" she asked the werewolf.
Well, someone had to even the odds, didn't they?

Aubrey's chest hurt. It was hard for her to take in adequate breaths. She couldn't show them that. It was hard enough to snatch the knife away from Sevanni as he offered it. She cleared her throat. "I'm not your sweetheart." It was hard to keep her voice steady, but she did. Bully for her.
Aubrey denied Colette's help. It wasn't that she didn't want it, but she wasn't sure if she could get up quite yet. Plus, this guy just kicked her in the chest. That was definitely strike three. She could feel her breathing regulate out. She could hear them talking around her. She ignored them. Then she watched Colette walk over and side with a were.
She was beginning to be confused again. She slowly shook her head. It was a distraction, a trick, she couldn't really be siding with them. Aubrey's hand gripped the handle of the knife. She closed her eyes. She didn't want to think about what Colette was doing. That cocky, jerk just kicked me. Aubrey bit her lip and looked up into his cold blank face. She jerked the knife up and slammed it down.
It went through Sevannis foot. Past his stylish footwear, through his foot, all the way down until it was sunk into the cold earth. The ground always seemed colder when vampires were around. She jumped up and punched him in the face. She felt like pushing him down and driving his own weapon through his heart, but she just slowly stepped back. She didn't stop until she was behind Shaden. And she slightly leaned against him. "Don't ever touch me again. Or I will kill you myself." Her eyes glared at Sevanni as she clenched and un-clenched her fist.
She turned to glare at the were that Colette's arm was around. She fumed. "Either you are going to stay and fight or not. It's not that hard to make a decision."
