The rain came down in torrents as Adam Vagus walked down the deserted street to his hotel. Pulling his raincoat tight against his muscular six foot three inch frame the werewolf ignored the cold downpour by going over the events of the last few days in his head. Driven by an incurable restlessness he had left his home in Hollywood and traveled to London where a fight against some vampires had ended in him befriending one and getting his ass handed to him by another. The next two days were a blur due to the toxin the Black Nail corpse had poisoned him with. "That was a pain getting over," he said to himself. Now just an hour ago he'd met up with Aubrey and Colette only to have them leave him again. Not that I can blame them, he thought. We're not exactly the best of friends and Colette and I, well, I don't know where we stand. All I know is that she's no enemy of mine. After several more minutes of walking Adam came upon his hotel. It was just a block away from the park where the fight had been. Entering the lobby he pushed back the hood of his raincoat and unbuttoned it. Several patrons stared at him as he started for the stairs, dripping water every inch of the way. Adam noticed this, there was little that he didn't notice, but ignored it. He seldom cared what others thought about him. If I did care I'd be holed up in my room afraid to do anything.

(OOC: mind if I crash your thread?)
Hayaki sighed as he wearily struggled with his parcels. He was perilously close to dropping several of them at once; he'd managed to get to the hotel, but it was clear he wasn't going to be able to attempt the stairs. Most of it wouldn't break if he dropped them-most of it was art supplies, but there was one he was worried about, a delicate statue of glass and pewter he'd spied in a shop window and couldn't do without.
He should have been sleeping; he'd spent the entire night awake talking to Oliver at his shop. He knew he was going to be tired. But he'd been restless; finally, he'd given up the pretense and left the hotel, wandering through the city. After all, this was sort of a vacation, wasn't it?
Don't think about Oliver... That was...hard to do. Really hard. A soft smile curved his lips as he put a foot on the stairs, trying to shift the biggest parcel (a stretched canvas) to the other side so he could more firmly grip the box containing the statue. But it slipped; he could only curse softly as the canvas slowly but inexorably slid out of his arms.

OCC: Not at all, it is open to all.
"Need a hand?" Adam asked running up to the stairs and catching the falling canvas before it hit the floor. "Looks like yours are a little full." Water rolled down his arms onto the parcel and collected into puddles at his feet. However, Adam seemed not to notice.

Hayaki peered at the man who'd come to his rescue, blushing and trying unsucessfully to grip the falling items harder. "Uhm...yeah...thanks." he stammered, blushing harder. "It's just kind of...I bought too much, I think" he confessed, grinning in embarassment. "I'm just up the stairs and down the hallway...thank you so much..."
He gratefully surrendered the falling canvas to the other man, then offered him a lopsided grin. "'m Hayaki." he said. "I'd shake your hand, but..." he laughed, then started up the stairs, peering over his shoulder to see if the other man was following him. "I didn't consider getting home when I bought all of this stuff." He said, shrugging. Then he eyed the door; how the heck was he going to get his key out of his pocket?

"I'll say ya didn't. Ya need six arms for this stuff," Adam Vagus said following the man to his room. "My names Vagus. Pleased ta meet ya Hayaki." When he got to the room Adam noticed Hayaki's bewilderment and immediately guessed at what it was. Some people, Adam thought. Leaning in close to the man he whispered, "It might help if ya set the stuff down or hand some to me."

Hayaki blushed brightly, both from the other man's nearness and his words. God, I'm such an idiot... Biting his lip, he nodded, then awkwardly shifted some of the stuff into Vagus's arms so he could dig the key out of his pocket. "Yeah." he said quietly, still blushing as he unlocked the door.
He opened it and walked in, kicking his shoes off by habit before dropping his stuff on the chair. "Just put it anywhere..." he said, smiling and unwrapping his scarf. "Mmm...you look like you need a towel." He said. Walking into the bathroom, he grabbed a towel for Vagus and one for himself, then returned to the room. "Here...thanks for the help. I really appreciate it."

"No problem, it never hurts to help," Adam said setting the stuff down on the nearest piece of furniture. Taking the towel he said, "Thanks" and began drying off. By now most of the water had fallen into a trail of puddles from the hotel entrance to the the spot where he stood but enough was left to moisten the towel. When he was through he draped the towel over the same piece of furniture the parcels were on and removed his raincoat to reveal a black t-shirt that showed several makes and models of guns. Near the bottom it said 'Celebrate Diversity'. Over this was his shoulder holster containing his ever present Colt on his right side. Draping the coat over his right arm Adam said, "Well, I guess I'll be going now. Nice meeting you Hayaki." Turning around he headed for the door.
OCC: Don't think I'm done RPing with you because Vagus is heading for the door. He's just doing what most people would do. If Hayaki wants him to stop and chat, all he has to do is ask. Also, how did ya get the link to Hayaki's profile to be in your posts? I'd also ask about the pictures but I have yet to find one that suits Vagus.

Hayaki goggled at the guns; he'd never met anyone who carried so many. As the other man turned to leave, Hayaki shifted, biting his lip. There were several hours until he could go see Oliver; he didn't really want to be alone. So...
"Uhm...you don't have to go. I mean...would you mind staying and...talking a little?" he asked softly, blushing again. God, he hoped the other man didn't get the wrong idea with that; he really just wanted someone to talk to. He shifted again, eyes drifting to the floor, and waited for Vagus to say, Oh, no. Sorry. Too busy.

Adam looked at his watch and shrugged. "Sure why not. I can spare a few minutes. It's not as if I had anything planned anyway." He walked over to the nearest empty chair and flopped down in it. "So what's in the packages? Whatever they are ya sure bought enough of it." As a man who lived a semi-spartan lifestyle he couldn't see why someone would buy the amount stuff Hayaki did. What was he going to do when it came time to pack up and leave?
OCC: Thanks I'll give it a try.

Hayaki laughed, moving to unpack the packages. "Uhm. Art supplies." He said, showing Vagus the canvas, sketch-pad, pencils, paintbrushes, paints...he carefully stowed them on top of the dresser, grinning a little. "I'm an artist, and I've promised to do a painting of a...friend." He faltered a little over that word, blushing, and turned quickly to the rest of the stuff. "And a few pieces of clothing, some basic supplies-my original stuff is out; I never planned on staying in Londen this long." he explained.
Then he pulled out the box with the statue and smiled. "And this...well, this was just fancy." He carefully unwrapped it, setting it on the table by the window. It was a dancing figure; caught in the middle of a graceful move, reaching longingly for the sky. Hayaki thought it was absolutely beautiful-the lines were simple, the detail almost more suggested than implemented, but the motion captured in the figure was what had caught Hayaki's attention.

"It's nice," Adam said trying to see what Hayaki saw in it and failing. Art was never his thing. The modern stuff was plain garbage and while the classic stuff was nice it was just that, nice. "Ya know I used to be a model for heroic statues but thy quit using me because they couldn't capture the perfection that is Adam Vagus." He said this with a wide grin. His family and friends always said when it came to telling stories he was worse than an old man. Talk to him enough and you'd discover that he either took part in or was in a close proximity too every major event that took place in his lifetime. "Ya have anything of yours I can see?"

Hayaki chuckled, shaking his head; he delt with models-and wanna-be models-all the time, so ego wasn't anything to phase him. And he had the feeling that Vagus just said things like that to see what the reaction would be. Giving the statue one last gentle touch, he turned, crossing his arms and leaning on the wall.
"Mmm. No." He said, smiling a little. "All my stuff's back in New York; this was supposed to be a working holiday, do a few lectures, be bored stiff, fly home. But it's become a real vacation." He nibbled his lip a moment, his expression pensive. Stupid jerks...
"I could sketch you, if you wanted to." He blurted. Vagus was a very good looking person, and the casual way he was sprawled in the chair was, artistically speaking, rather interesting. Hayaki could see it in his mind...he blushed, but looked determined. When it came to painting, Hayaki could be rather...pushy.

Adam thought about it for a moment then nodded. "Sure you can sketch me but I won't let you put your hands all over me like those photographers do. You want me to move my hand or my head you tell me and I'LL move it." Actually Adam didn't really care about it. He knew they only did it to quickly get the position they wanted and he loved to tease the female photographers about how they couldn't keep their hands off him. One would be surprised at how often it led to a date. However the way Hayaki kept blushing when looking at him suggested that perhaps it wasn't a good idea to let the man touch him. Hayaki seemed like a good guy and Adam had no intention of treating him in a less than friendly manner, so long as excluding a handshake Hayaki kept his hands to himself. "So, is this alright or do you need me in a different position?"
OCC: Darn it I still can't get it to show Adam's profile link. Where do I put the address in again?

Haya laughed; he couldn't help it. The expression on Adam's face..."Don't worry." He said, turning and pulling a sketchbook and a couple of pencils from the packages. "You're safe from me getting all touchy-feely." He winked over his shoulder, then flipped open the book, his expression settling.
"I don't pose my models; I want you to sit however is natural and comfortable for you." he said, testing the point on one of the pencils. "My sketches are all about getting my models how they really are; I like to try and capture a person's true spirit through art." he explained quietly, seating himself on the edge of the bed. "So let's keep talking while I sketch; if you wanna move, let me know. I'm not like some artists who get all uptight."
He grinned, studying the lines of Adam's shoulders for a moment, then started sketching. "So. Adam. Are you from Londen, or are you visiting like me?" he asked, his pencil moving swiftly over the surface.

Adam frowned slightly at Hayaki using his first name. Aside from his family and teachers he let only one other person call him Adam. Call him crazy but to him allowing a person to use his first name implied a level of trust beyond mere friendship. "Call me Vagus please, and yes I'm just visiting. I'm originally from Pennsylvania and currently live in Hollywood. I came here because," he shrugged. "Because I just needed to go somewhere and London seemed as good as any other place. I have this incurable restlessness, had it for years. Every so often I just need to go somewhere." Leaning back he hooked his fingers together behind his head and gazed at the ceiling. "You said you came here to give a lecture. How'd that go?"
OCC: 10-4, now how do I make it say 'Vagus' profile'? Oh, I got a picture now. It's not what I'm looking for but it's still cool. How do I put it up?
