Arielle's face flushed a soft pink. "I'm so sorry Lille. I just naturally assumed..." She closed her mouth and placed her hands over her face. "Oh how rude that was of me!" She laughed, hoping Lille would laugh along with her. She adverted her eyes to the rear-view mirror. She watched him as he loaded up his motorcycle onto the bed of the truck. "I have to admit though Lille...." She lowered her voice as he began to approach. "If someone would have called me his girlfriend, when i corrected them, i would have said i was his wife!" She laughed. "I'm joking...but he is nice to look at-even wet." She watched him approach. He moved differently than most she had noticed. She wasn't touching or doing anything obscene, just watching.. His smile took her by surprise. She had seen it before, not from him of course, but who? She ignored the sinking feeling in her gut. And gave them her sweetest smile. "there is always room for a guy who gives up his jacket in the freezing rain for a girl who is not his girlfriend. Whether he is soggy or not!" She smiled at Lillie "And they say chivalry is dead!"

Lillie couldn't help but laugh a bit with the girl. "It's alright. It really did look like that." She said glancing behind them to see Dakhan placing his bike in the bed. But her small playful smile spread as the girl said what she did. She turned to look at her. "Yes, that wouldn't be too bad I suppose." She commented to her companion quietly and watched him approach.
She opened the door for him and moved over a bit to let him in. Lillie almost bit her lip again, something she was trying to stop because her fangs showed. Well....in this case it kind of is dead. She thought, trying to look slightly bemused. "Yeah, I can't imagine why."

Dakhan slid into the cab beside Lillie. In the interest of creating more room -- of course -- he rested his arm across the back of the seat. His fingers were long and slender, an artist's hands.
"So, where to?" He asked brightly, "That nice little B & B sounds so promising."
The contemplative look that both women gave him was not lost on the him at all. If they wanted anything out of him, he was more than willing to give it. Although Dakhan fed from the artery, he refused to kill his donor, preferring to give them as much pleasure as he could in exchange for his meal.

Something wasn't quite right...she could feel it. Her mother had been telling her, her entire life, that she could always sense when something was wrong. She chose to ignore that feeling. She didn't care. She liked the two strangers. She winked at Lillie without Dakhan being able to see. She glanced at his graceful wrists and slender fingers. hmmm...she thought to herself. I wonder if his wrists are what my mother calls pianist wrists. Not wanting anyone to catch her lingering on his features she flushed a small bit and started to pull back onto the road. She glanced at them while driving, chatting a small bit.
"The bed and breakfast is really nice. I'll drop you two off there."
She motioned behind her with her fingers.
I live just down there after the curve. My grandfather helped me by a cottage and land. Usually i just walk up to the pub if i feel like waitressing for a while. Im glad i drove tonight though. The pub is just up here on the left. Its called The Steel Horse. Y'all should come by every now and then. Im not there every night, but i wouldn't mind familiar faces every now and then."
The old rumbling truck pulled up to the Bed and Breakfast. She put it in park, but left it running.
"well...here we are guys"
she smiled at them, but found herself staring at Dakhan again. She let her eyes slowly trail over his features. After a few moments she blushed and uttered out an embarrassed laugh.

Lillie gave the girl a smile, she had no idea what she talked to, but she was lucky neither vampire was a killer. She watched silently as the truck rumbled down the hill to the Bed and Breakfast. She stepped out of the truck when they arrived.
"I think I might stop by sometime, maybe not though." She said, still uncertain what she wanted to do now that she was back in London. There were so many options and they were increasing with the more vampires she met.
Lillie felt a bit awkward, obviously the girl was enchanted by Dakhan's features much more than she was. But then, that was probably the effect he had on humans. "Thanks again."

"oh...okay"
Arielle hid the disappointment from her face. Great, she thought to herself. You big chattering twit. You can't even get anyone to be interested in you unless they live, work, or spend all their money at the pub. And even then they don't really like you...they just need you for something. She gave her best smile to Lille,
"Well I hope you can."
She was being sincere. Until now, she had only met one person that even mildly interested her and was fairly disappointed at the short run through. Especially with Lille. It had been a long time since she giggled quietly while talking about a man who was only a few mere feet away. She didn't know what she thought or what she had expected. Maybe she was just home sick. And stupid. Just because you helped them out doesn't make them your new best friends...get a hold of yourself. You don't want friends..remember? Thats not why you came out here...Even as she thought it, she knew it was not true. She grabbed the pen and a left over napkin from her floor board and jotted down a few numbers. She handed it to Lille.
"Just in case...you change your mind...or get stuck out in the rain again."
She sighed and waited for the man to exit the vehicle. She couldn't remember ever catching his name. But from the way things were turning, it looked like maybe it didn't matter.

Dakhan had climbed out of the truck first and he stretched, easing muscles cramped by the rain and the tight fit. The bed and breakfast was, indeed, over a little pub, handy, Dakhan guessed, when the tourist season waned. A pub was always busy. The night and the rain obscured the landscape, but with his superb night vision he could see that the building stood just at the edge of the forest and that pastures and quaintly fenced gardens surrounded it on its other three sides. All in all, an exceptionally lovely English countryside scene. He smiled.
Dakhan rested an arm on the cab's wet roof and leaned into the warm interior, "I won't ask you in for a hot toddy, since you've just got out of work, but thank you very much for the ride." Remembering that he'd failed to introduce himself and not sure that Lillie had given his name, he added, "My name's Dakhan Viraspa." He offered the driver a cold wet handshake. "You say you live around here? Are there any nice local places up for rent or sale? I might just stay a while."

Arielle could feel the blood rushing to her cheeks. There was no reason for her to act this way. One minute she was perfectly content laughing and goofing off with Lille and then the next...the next moment she was hot and jittery and desperately wanting to be alone with Dakhan. She wanted him to touch her with his soft fingers. She wanted him to invite her in, she wanted to stay. The terrible feeling crept back up into her stomach, but the warm sensation of thoughts full of promises of pleasure broke through and melted it back down. Oh how she wanted to go in, she wanted him to touch her, not a handshake, but in a more personal and romantic way...
she shook his hand instead and smiled at his name...lovely..she thought, just like him. It suited him.
"Nice to meet you. And if you look around, I'm sure that there are places available. I have never noticed any neighbors. Patrick, he bar tends and owns The Steel Horse, he could tell you. You should drop in tomorrow night and ask."
She smiled. It was impish and coy and then stepped out of the cab. She watched him unload his bike and then helped her massive dog down onto the ground. She put him up into the cab and turned to them once more.
"I really hope you will call me or come see me sometime."
The comment was made toward Lillie, but she wouldn't mind if Dakhan took her up on her offer as well. She stepped into the truck and shut the door. Waving her fingers in a girlish fair well she locked eyes with Dakhan only momentarily. The burning sensation returned to her flesh and she had a strong urge to stop the car. She pulled out and headed down the road to her home. Osiris's head out the window, steadily growling the whole time. A soon as the B&B was out of sight the sensation was gone and she laughed.
"I dont know what came over me Osiris!"
She smiled to herself.
It must have been the weather.

Dakhan wheeled the limping motorcycle over to a railing and leaned it there. As the pickup drove away, he locked eyes with the big Neo and gave the dog a wry grin. If he had his way, the dog would be spending some time hanging around outside his mistress' bedroom door and the sooner the better.
He'd actually hoped that the girl, Arielle, had thought to give him her number, or at least had a spare room for let. Perhaps he could have grown on the dog after a while....
Shaking his head at his own foolishness, Dakhan joined Lillie in the foyer of the pub and waited for the owner to notice them. Dakhan had no inclination to head back into London this night.

Lillie smiled at the girl and took the napkin. "Thanks, I'll think about it." She said, noticing that this was the first time in quite a while she had been with another girl, laughing and giggling at some awkward situation they were in.
She watched her drive off, noticing the dog still watching her, but more Dakhan than her, and growling. Lillie sighed and turned around, sauntering into the pub doors and out of the soggy street. She kept the leather jacket on and pushed her blonde hair back, waiting to hear the bell behind her of Dakhan's approach or the soft thudding of leather on the wooden floor.
Looking around the pub she could smell the smoke of pipes and cigarettes in the air, along with the strong scent of alcohol lingering just about everywhere. She looked back out the door and sighed in impatience as she and Dakhan stood waiting for the bartender and roomkeeper.
"Hey, look, thanks for letting me borrow your jacket and everything." She said, feeling rather quilty about everything, it seemed like he had wanted to be around Arielle longer or something.

The host of the bed and breakfast walked up to the pair of them with a grand smile. "Can I help you? If you are interested in a room, you're in luck. We have one, but it will take a few moments for us to get it ready."
Immediately, Dakhan nodded. "I'll take it," he told the man. Then he turned to Lillie, "Would you like to stay over? It really is a bit of a bad night out there and I'm sure that we can enjoy ourselves much more inside. Are you game?"

Lillie tilted her head a bit. "Yeah, I guess that would be better." She said, glancing out the dark windows. "Anything beats going back out there now that the storm's moved in." She said, looking back at Dakhan.
"I'll stay the night." She said, decisively. She moved a bit in his jacket. "Would you like this back now or when we're in the room?" She asked, suddenly seeing a man walk mugs of beer by. "And something strong would be good too."

"No, you keep it on if you're still cold," Dakhan told her. As the waiter passed by again, he stuck up two fingers and called out, "Two beers, please!"
The waiter nodded and headed over to the bar for their order. Dakhan took Lillie's elbow and guided her to a table near the hearth. Several older men were playing darts and toasting each other every time one of them hit the dart board. From what Dakhan could see, this was quite an accomplishment, for the wall beside the board held the bulk of the darts.
With walls of stone and timber rafters, the place was the quintessential English pub. Dakhan hoped that the bed and breakfast was as homey. He would call the rental people early the next evening and they could come and pick up the motorcycle. The arrival of their drinks brought him back from his thoughts.
After a healthy swig of dark ale, he groaned happily and licked the foam from his lips. "This is heaven!" He declared, "There's only one thing better than this." He fixed Lillie's pretty face with an impish smile, and he didn't elaborate, leaving what he felt was better to her imagination.

Lillie allowed him to guide her to the table, already feeling the warmth around the hearth. She observed the drunken dart players with a bit of amusement. They must be very drunk, she decided, because if they weren't it would be embarassing to be so horrible at darts.
She liked the room, it seemed old and worn but home-y. Home-y, something she hadn't felt in almost a year now. And the smell of alcohol, it brought back memories of her former job as a waitress. That wasn't a bad thing, she had missed some of her friends from the Black Brit.
She was roused from her musings by the thunk of the mugs on the wooden table. She picked it up and took a generous sip of her beer. "Delightful." She said, quirking an eyebrow at how forward Dakhan was, however, it was too blunt. She gave him a small smirk. Knowing exactly what he was hinting at.

When Lillie didn't rise to the bait, Dakhan eyed her speculatively. He took a healthy swig of his ale and wiped the foam from his upper lip. His mug clunked back onto the table and he leaned back in his chair. There must be some way I can get a rise out of her, he mused as he watched her out of the corner of his eye.
Stretching out his long legs under the table, Dakhan sighed, "Ah, yes heavenly! The only thing better than this would be...." he let his words trail off and eyed her expression from under a fall of long hair, ".... a nice warm fire in that hearth." The vampire's black eyes sparkled with humor.
