"Why is it now more than ever that we are faced with our kind that wish to harm more and more often? It reminds me of the time I did leave that one time in the late 1660's for London just to merely leave away here... It felt as if I had betrayed you and now...it feels the same as it did then. Tell me, why should I feel this way?"
Sebastian placed a hand on his old friend, and a son to him. He sighed, for he had often had time to contemplate things like these, though his mind was so quick now he could more easily pass judgement. It was difficult though.
"Our kind, not vampires, but rather the old aristocracy of educated vampires like ourselves, is dying out. These young creatures are too preocupied with themselves to think what is best. You have not betrayed me Julian, oh no. You have shown your loyalty by returning to me after all of these years. Loyalty is very important you know..." he said, almost to himself, although not exactly answering Julian's question.
"I trust, you are quite alone Julian? Stay here with me. I have a young girl here as well, a fledgling, who may remind you of someone..." he said, with an adoring twinkle in his eyes.
"Why do I ail, Sire? Is it because I'm fading? Have the truly good ones like me disappearing? Are we dying off?"
Sebastian rested his head back, and chuckled slightly. It reminded him of when Julian first came to him, livid with worries of his own state and what a burden he may be. "Please, Julian, I feel I've just met you..." he said, guessing that Julian may not see the humor in this statement.
"I will not tell you childish bedtime stories. Our kind if dying off, giving up. We must stay together now more than ever if we are to fight this new wave that comes upon us..." he admitted.
It was something he had toyed around with frequently and in his heart he knew, two different types could not coexist.
