A shudder ran up along Lachlan’s spine, dancing and prancing until it made him twitch, curdling his blood in one huge cold sensation. Walking along the streets, his eyes watching everything and seeing everything, anything that seemed either too real or not real enough, In between and it was just a hoax, though not playing tricks, just telling lies.
A sigh broke through his teeth, over his lips and out into the cool air, a pliable mist exhaling at the same time as his cigarette smoke existed his lungs. He wasn’t a chronic smoker like most, he could go for more then 3 weeks without one and not have cravings, for now it was a little pick me up, he didn’t know anyone and in a way he liked it like that but just for once he wanted to feel some sort of social life, something to look forward to. At the moment all there was to look forward to be watching the minutes fly by yet he had a deadline of sunrise. Lachlan gripped the cigarette as it was at his finishing, putting it out he continued, not knowing where he was going or where he was going to end up.
Lachlan was a very laid back kind of guy, he’d go with the tide if he didn’t have to hide at sunrise. Though, this was his new life, not exactly the life he pictured, the life he pictured was a social one, at the moment it seemed more of a slow motioned movie, nothing ends but yet you can’t wait for them to begin. One thing he can’t stand, being along for long periods of time, after a while he begins climbing the walls and pacing and pretty much doing everything a lonely man would.
Continuing along the streets, one hand holding a cigarette, the other placed into his coat’s pocket, his head hung low and still a cold mist existing from his lips with every breath. The street’s where quiet, only the occasional human would walk by, Lachlan edging his way closer to each one that went past just to get a smell of the blood that ran through their veins, too bitter, too sweet, too old, too intoxicated. He was in a picky mood, this time he wanted to human to have a taste that he could enjoy instead of simply picking one off only to find that the person has an iron disorder making it bitter and tasteless in some cases.
Lachlan stopped, a smell came to his nostrils, looking over to his left he spotted a woman, and she was a brunette with blue eyes. Lachlan walked inside her store, a store that held some books and other little things here and there. He made his way to the counter, placing a smile to his lips. “Excuse me miss, but do you have a book called The Dark Half?” Lachlan spoke, making his voice sound softer. The girl looked up and gave a smile. “Stephan king, a good writer and a nice choice” She spoke back, leaving the counter and heading to the back of the room. Lachlan followed, she picked up the book and handed it over, Lachlan took the book in his hand, though not letting go of hers that clenched the book. “Let go” She spoke, Lachlan lent in a whispered into her ear. "I'd rather not" The girl struggled and screamed, Lachlan laughed. There was no one out tonight, only a few random but most wouldn’t care. Lachlan breathed against her neck, smelling the blood and mixed with the scream he got excited. Slamming her against the bookshelves he pressed his rib cage against hers and smiled, he loved playing with humans. She screamed again. Lachlan placed his lips on hers, kissing the female. Though, using his fangs he bit down onto her top lip, causing it to bleed. Leaning back Lachlan watched as blood trickled down her chin. “Please, please don’t hurt me, I won’t tell anyone, please!” She begged, mixed with sobs and a shaking voice from fear. Lachlan lent in, licking the blood from her chin. The girl sobbed more. “I don’t want to harm you, your diverse, eccentric” Lachlan replied, a smirk came to his lips. He didn’t want to hurt her he wanted to slaughter her. He lent in once more, biting down hard onto her neck, the blood trickling down the back of Lachlan’s throat. The girl’s body grew weak with time. He almost sucked her dry.
Using his arms he supported her, keeping her up off the ground, licking the blood from her neck he looked to the pale face and shaking body of the half-dead human. Lachlan raised his hand to her neck, standing back, his hand gripped her throat holding her up, soft murmurs and moans came from her lips. Lachlan slammed her again and again; her neck was almost instantly bruising. Lachlan gripped her head in both of his hands and twisted it, a snapping sound was heard and the girl fell to the ground.
Leaving the store he bit his lip, still excitement ran through him as he could feel the girls blood in his, he got his kicks out of watching them plead and die, he hated humans. Stopping at a nearby park he sat down on a bench.
He knew he had a twisted mind, more then most. He was once human and he hates himself for it, disgusting vial creatures they were. If he had a choice, he’d kill every human he feasted off, though he only does it once every two months or so, less risk of being caught and jailed or whatever.

It's fairly common for Anna to wander at night - she seems to have aken up whatever nocturnal ways some of the unnoticed members of society have, though unintentionally. As it stands, she's wandering through the park, herself, a black bag overone shoulder containing her sketchbook and other supplies, and a travel-mug of coffee in hand.
She's usually the only one out, around this time - or, at least, she likes to think that way. It's like a little bubble of time where she never sees anyone, and therefore assumes ther is no one else. Whatever the case, she's a little surprised to note the presence of someone else sitting on the bench, as she approaches.
Initially, Anna's not really sure how to take this stranger's presence - should she be worried, or friendly, or...what? In this city, one never knows just who [or what] they're dealing with when simply passing another person in the streets, or park, or...wherever.
It's not like she's anti-social (not at all - given the oppertunity, and suffiscient caffeine levels, she can talk for hours non-stop) it's just ...strange, seeing someone else out at this hour. She settles for a friendly smile-wave, taking another drink from her mug, fully intending on just carrying on about her way.

Lachlan let a sigh pass his lips, at the same time playing with his eyebrow ring for the boredom side of things. Although he interrupted himself by taking his lighter from his coat pocket and lighting it, putting it out, lighting it, putting it out. Playing with fire was more entertaining then watching the grass grow.
The city wasn’t so bad, a little more social then the last place. Lachlan looked up, seeing a human walking his way, he watched her for a moment, studying her and observing the way she moved. Looking away, so did didn’t look like he was staring, some humans may even call it stalking. His eyes looked to the side but his head remained straight forward, flicking his lighter a couple more times until she gave an innocent smile and a wave, Lachlan gave a warming smile and a nod. “Nice night for it” His voice offering no harm, no dull tone added, actually it was a pretty happy tendency. This has been the most social night he’s had so far.
Lachlan flicked his lighter once more then placed it into his pocket again, the aroma this female human gave was a strong one, a fresh one with an addictive taste. Plus, her blood type was rare around the cities, she had not yet been affected by the toxic waste from cars and any other toxin’s these people breath in because everything is slightly cramped and open to any type of virus’s. Yet at the moment, his mind just rambled. His eyes remained on her and a friendly smile placed along his lips, looking away once more, not to creep her out, besides she may even keep him company for a while and by staring or going straight for the sweet spot then ruining any chance of gaining that, besides, he already ate.

“Nice night for it”
“F’what, walkin’? Always is.” She responds with a grin. There’s no reason to be paranoid about people sitting in the park, unnerving as it may be – it’s most likely he’s just nocturnal like she is, and all that. She just happened to encounter him for the first time tonight.
Anna pauses as she speaks, so she’s before the bench he’s sitting on, a little away still. She brushes stray strands of her hair out of her eyes, flashing a smile. “Y’come out here a lot? Never seen an’one but m’self ‘round this time’a night....”
It’s totally attempt at making conversation, because he seems friendly, and, well, why the heck not? It’s not like she’s got anything better to do, or anyone else to talk to for awhile. Not ‘till class tomorrow afternoon, and even there, they’re all boring. Maybe he’ll have more interesting things to talk about.

Lachlan gave a smile at her first reply, it was true though considering the part where it’s the only time he can come out, otherwise risk burning to death, hurrah. The place was silent, the way he liked it though sometimes had the want to go into a loud bar or club just to escape the silence as it can be deafening at moments. Lachlan looked over into the distance, a male scurrying alone along the path and out of sight; he looked like he was in a hurry, always looking over his shoulder.
Soon his gaze turned back to the girl as she spoke again, Lachlan nodded. “Yeah, Occasionally, Haven’t been around these parts for too long, still just figuring out where everything is” He replied, clearly she came out here a bit, that was noted in her reply, a local perhaps. Then again he began playing with his eyebrow ring, though a moment later dropping his hand back down.
Truth be told he had no clue where anything was around here, he’d just wander until he found something exciting yet tonight that just happened to be a small book store where the girl was probably still lying there, unconscious. Thinking of it made a little smirk crawl across his lips.
“Haven’t had the pleasures of meeting people either, my names Lachlan” He introduced himself and held out a hand for a friendly shake. Something he did to ease himself into either more of a conversation or a ‘see you later’ situation where perhaps he could gain a social life, even if it was with humans at least there was someone to talk to for a change. He hated the whole no social life scene, everyone needs to be social and no one is truly ever anti-social unless they wanted to live a life without knowing anyone, that just seems like a dull life without anything to do, no where to go and no one to have a decent conversation with, either way he liked at least one person to talk to even if it is for a brief moment.

“Yeah, Occasionally, Haven’t been around these parts for too long, still just figuring out where everything is”
She nods slightly, grin flashing across her features. “Been here all m’life. Wouldn’ live an’where else f’th’ world…” she responds, “How y’like it here s’far?” She takes a drink from her coffee, and absently fidgets with the chain around her neck, the pendant dangling from it.
“Haven’t had the pleasures of meeting people either, my names Lachlan”
She smiles and shifts her mug to the other hand, and shakes his proffered one with a half-gloved one. “’M Anna. Nice t’meet y’, hon.”
She doesn’t let the handshake linger long – she’s never been a very touchy person, and she doesn’t plan on starting that tonight – but the flashy smile remains. “If y’ain’ got anyt’in’ better t’do, I wouldn’ min’ playin’ tour guide f’awhile. Ain’ busy, m’self…”
And she doesn’t quite know why she feels inclined to offer that, but…she’s not in the mood to just go home just yet, and she’s already finished her project earlier, so, for now, there’s no other opportunity presenting itself. Besides, he’s friendly enough, and it can’t hurt to make a new friend or anything.

Lachlan smiled slightly as she took his hand and shook it, he could feel her veins in her hands pumping blood, releasing her hand he listened to her words as she spoke, it was a good question to, it all depends on how social things get here, how interesting the place seemed after a while, well at least until after he knew where everything was. “Yeah it’s pretty good, I hear the bar’s are interesting and I found the book store, it was good, found a few books we didn’t have back home” Pfft. Books. Lachlan doesn’t read unless he needs to. The last time he picked up a book was the last day of school and that was a cartoon one. He let a sigh escape his lips.
Listening to the girl more he gave a nod, it was a pleasure for Lachlan, first time he got to speak to someone and he had been here for at least a day or two. A smile came to his lips after she spoke about being a guide, it would sure be helpful. He gave a nod and stood to his feet. “Sounds Good” He kept the smile on his lips and looked around the park again, seeing another person hurrying along through the grass and in-between the trees, god, it would be safer on the path, that way people can hear you scream if anything goes wrong. “So how come your out so late?” He asked, it was none of his business but it was better then a silence engulfing them and making things awkward, placing his hands in his pockets he turned and began walking along the path, biting his bottom lip, another habit.
He had a lot of bad habits, biting his bottom lip, playing with his eyebrow, smoking, drinking, and being obsessive compulsive with stoves, taps, oven’s, lights and more. Well he didn’t care, if people thought he was weird then fine so be it, if not then great he liked you already.

“Yeah it’s pretty good, I hear the bar’s are interesting and I found the book store, it was good, found a few books we didn’t have back home”
Anna smiles slightly, “Yeah, w’got a lotta awesome stuff. ‘M more an art person den a book person. Y’should see some’a the galleries w’ have…s’amazin’.” Her tone carries mild awe as she speaks of this. One of her life goals is to have her own little gallery somewhere in the city – for now, she settles for being one of those who spend a lot of time wandering through the galleries of others. “Sounds Good”
She beams as he stands. “What kin’a places y’interested in seein’, hon? Dere’s an awesome li’ll coffeeshop dat’s still open not far fr’m here – y’gotta go dere a’leas’ once in y’life, o’y’missin’ out on de bes’ coffee…ever. Anywhere.” A nod, as if she is stating pure fact, and any argument was sacrilegious; heresy. Which, in her mind, the comparison comes close.
She’s starting to become more outgoing with this man, now, as the general hyperness kicks in (though it could be the coffee…or the prospect of more coffee…but whatever.).
“So how come your out so late?”
“I dunno, ‘M always out this late. Lat’r, usually. I jus’ like it. I’d b’totally nocturnal if it weren’ f’classes an’all dat.” She sighs, an over dramatized, but soft sound, as if the mere thought of classes stealing the small bits of sleep she manages during the hours between her nightly wanders and class is a most heinous crime. Which it is, really.
“B’sides dat, dere’s ‘nough caffeine in m’bloodstream t’wake th’dead, righ’ about now.” She adds with a smirk, lifting her mug slightly to take another drink from her coffee, then smiling at him over the top of the travel cup.
“What ‘bout y’self? Y’jus’ like th’nighttime, too?”

Lachlan flicked his hair from his eyes and thought for a moment about… who knows what. Only to be brought back to reality by the females voice, her accent or something was interesting to listen to, giving a smile as she spoke so much about galleries, her tone clearly stated a passion for this subject. “Yeah? Cool, I’ll have to do that” He replied and began playing with his eyebrow ring again. Though still watching Anna, She was an interesting individual, very bubbly, lively and dynamic. His ears picked up her voice again, listening in he gave a small shrug as she finished. “Not sure, anywhere’s good enough” He wanted to know everything there was around here so he knew the place from the back of his hand incase he ever got into strife and needed a place of salvation, though being killed in the process of finding it didn’t seem like a good idea. Though it also depended on if this female showed him some placed tonight, maybe more later on down the track or someone else showing him a couple things, whichever way works for him.
He listened again as she spoke, then a pause and spoke again. Being out late wasn’t a choice for him though he couldn’t exactly tell her that. “Yeah nighttime is much better, less chance of being sun burnt and all that, plus during the day the place is packed and I’m not much of a person to dodge people all day” He paused and thought for a moment, then continued. “Just like it better, less crowded and some night, more to do” He gave a small smile and watched the girl for a moment, then looked back down to his own feet as he walked along, shuffling them slightly.

[Sorry for the delay. Got all busy an' stuff...Heh.]
“Not sure, anywhere’s good enough”
“Then we’ll start dere. You’ll like it, ‘M sure. S’very shiny.” She gives a nod, as if it’s settled, and that’ll be their first stop. Besides, she’s sure more coffee would be a very good thing, if she’s going to be playing tour guide for him for the rest of the night.
“Yeah nighttime is much better, less chance of being sun burnt and all that, plus during the day the place is packed and I’m not much of a person to dodge people all day. Just like it better, less crowded and some night, more to do” “Ooh, yeah, I kinda burn too, if I ain’t careful. S’one’a those things ‘bout bein’ fair-skinned an’ all tha’. Pro’lly doesn’ help that ‘M always indoors o’wearin’ long sleeves…If I got a base tan, ‘M sure it wouldn’ b’so bad, but I jus’ can’ be bothered.” She says, shrugging slightly, “An’ I agree, s’nice not t’have t’shove people outta th’way t’get somewhere... See, no shovin’!” She spreads her arms, and spins in a circle as she walks, indicating there’s plenty of room, grin on her face, before she resumes walking normally in a straight manner.
They’re already almost at the coffeeshop, and she tosses a grin over at her new ‘friend’. “S’right there.” She says, lifing a hand to motion to the lit building ahead, then her grin morphs into slightly mischevious and playful. “Race ya?”

(Tis quite alright! No harm done... hehe)
Lachlan continued his pace, his hands held into his pockets and he lightly shuffled his feet against the ground underneath them. Listening to the words she spoke, his head hung looking at his feet as if amused by them. Looking up as she spun around a smile came to his lips and a laugh exited them, the first laugh since this morning before the sun came up, He spotted a human just as the male tripped and landed flat on his face. Highly amusing when all else seems so boring and dull.
Listening to the girl a little more as she talked about the coffee shop, he nodded but was surprised to hear her say ‘race ya?’ took him off guard. He smiled and nodded. “Why not?” Lachlan took off at a jog, which then led to a faster run, pulling his hands out of his pockets beforehand so he didn’t look like such a moron.
Never in Lachlan’s vampire life did he not have the craving to bite a human, though he had already fed, which could have been the only thing stopping him right now. Though he wasn’t bad with humans, hell he would even keep a human as a friend, though sometimes it makes him miss his old life, the one where he could feel the sun on his face and could pig out on fattening foods instead of blood which just kept him alive, a Vampire without blood wasn’t a vampire at all, it was a dead, rotted, ugly image. Nothing more or less.
Depending on how people took it, Some Vampire’s don’t drink fresh from humans or they don’t drink it at all although that was the more unhealthy version, the weaker version of a vampire, just like a human with pointed teeth that did nothing what so ever, waste of species, waste of a creature that Lachlan found rather beautiful, a creature he grew to love then not long after grew to be.

“Why not?”
Anna beams as he starts off, having not really expected him to accept the challenge, and takes off after him. She's not overly athletic - preferring to spend most of her time sitting somewhere drawing or whatever - but still, she's in decent shape. But he's fast, and it's hard to get caught up, let alone pass him.
She gets there just after he does, and shoots him a grin, leaning against the door for a second to catch her breath. "Y'win. Coffee'll b'my treat."
She leans into the door a little more, shifting so it opens and she moves in, holding it for him to follow.
"Y'like chocolate? They got th'bes' Dark Chocolate Espresso ...ever. Anywhere." She grins, and shrugs, "'Course, y'can get whatever y'like, they'll make custom t'ings if y'got somet'in' in mind tha' ain't on the menu."
In her element, now - the dim lights and cozy, quiet atmosphere are perfect for the sort of quiet drawing-times she tends to create wherever she goes, not to mantion how awesome it smells. Or the candles - they're on each table, at least three and lit, providing a warmth that's not possible with electric lights alone.
"Y'like?" she tosses over once he's in, and she's taken the lead again, leading the way towards "her" booth - the one in the rear corner, where she always sits. It's almost always open, as if it's an unwritten rule that it's hers and no one else dare sit there...not that she's much of an imposing figure, all smiles and bubbly, despite the gothic attire.
Once at the booth, she hops into the seat, setting her bag to one side, and tucking her legs up on the seat beneath her. "Someone'll b'over in a sec."
