Annie walked down the empty street, listening and watching for company. There was no one there. She strolled along, not thinking about anything, just spacing out. Her high heels clicked on the pavement, like in old movies where they sweetened the sounds. She loved listening to the sound of her heels, and forgot about everything else.
It wasn't for a while until her sensitive ears picked up a soft female voice saying the lines of a strange poem. Annie followed the voice, which was coming from a dirty, dark alley. She hesitated for a moment, then walked into the darkness.
A woman with black hair leaned against on of the walls, smoking. Annie felt a bit apprehensve, because she could feel the woman's eyes boring into her, like they were looking into her soul. It was freaky.
"Hello." She said, trying to sound confident, and succeeding. She sniffed the air. Yup, definately a vamp, she thought. This is going to be interesting...

"No, I'm not lost. I've lived here for over fifty years.... I think I know my way around pretty well." It wasn't like Annie to be so rude, but something about this woman rubbed her the wrong way. She got the feeling she wasn't wanted.
Despite the obvious vibes from the woman, Annie decided to stay for a few moments longer. She was bored, and this was just something to do.
"I'm Annie Romanov. Who're you?" She didn't usually use her full firs tname, because she always got weird responses. some smart people recognized her last name, but most didn't. She couldn't decide whether she wanted this woman to be one who knew who she wa, or a stupid one who had no clue.

Annie didn't like how this woman was insulting her, and made up her mind to leave as soon as possible. She watched as the womans' small smile turn into an evil smirk. She returned it with a smirk of her own.
"Yes, actaully, it is short for Anastasia. I find it a long and tiresome name, and it often gives the wrong impression." She could tell that *Lavinia* was laughing at her, royalty turned vampire. Well, she wasn't going to take any of this crap.
"If you think somethings funny, you can just tell me what it is, you know...." If *Lavinia* wanted to laugh, she might as well do it to Annie's face.

OOC: Just so you know, it's pronounced: ah-nah-Stah-see-ah "Perhaps." Annie was beginning to think she had gotten a few things wrong about Lavinia, but she was still going to be cautious.
"Perhaps less ironic, and more tragic. I knew that all those women who said they were ne were not, but what could I do? i couldn't reveal myself to the world...."
Annie smiled, then turned serious again. "You know, if you really do like the longer version of my name, you're welcome to call me Anastasia, if you want. I won't mind."
She waited for Lavinia's reply, hoping it wouldn't be mean or sarcastic.

OOC: That's okay "No, not really. Actually i have no real destination at the moment... More relying on where the muse takes me. Possibly a bookshop or cafe. Somewhere where I can sit down and relax." She smiled, then kind of spaced out. She tended to do that, and it was a horrible habit. She snapped back to reality. "So sorry. I space out all the time. Nothing personal to you, it's just me." She laughed.
She looked around at the dark alley walls. The smell coming from down the way was giving her a headache. "Do you want to move out into the street? I think I'll choke to death if I stay in here any longer." Annie didn't mention that it was also Lavinia's cigarette- it wasn't polite.
