People have been obsessing about vampires for as long as anyone can remember. Movies were made about them, books written, and even people dressing up at Halloween like the creatures of the night. Little did humanity know that vampires were not just mythical creatures-they were very real.
Following the creation of synthetic blood (True Blood), vampires have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight since they "came out of the coffin." The small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana has been turned upside and split in half. Some despise the vampires, others accept the vampires, and some go out of their way to be with the vampires. Friends have turned against friends in the fight over what to do about the 'problem'. For now, the True Blood alternative has satisfied most humans. However, not all vampires drink the True Blood. And not all vampires are interested in being members of society. A group of vampires who view humans as inferior are plotting the overthrow of human race.
The newer vampires are struggling for acceptance while the older ones are struggling to overthrow the humans and gain power. The whole situation is laced with irony. It was, in fact, what they wanted.
