It was a lovely night. The wind had calmed down from earlier and the city was alive with music and movement. Although she felt her body aching for blood her mind was in a different place. She looked as humans danced and sang and her inner voice felt trapped within her. She loved both of those activities. It was hard to find any other vampires who enjoyed it as well. Most wanted to sharpen there hunting skills or skip the small talk and just get dirty. Good on some nights, but not most. It was like some vampires lost there inner mind when they changed. Those poor creatures. "Well i will not be like them, i do have free will." She mumbled as she walked past some more street dancers. Her hand patted on the side of her leg to the beat of some bongo drums and a smile curved along her red lips. Paris was so alive tonight. And she was, ironically, not.
Laughing at that irony she kept walking and seeing tourists taking pictures of the Eiffel tower. It stood so strong and sturdy that she one day wished she could uphold strength like that. Cursing she turned away and pulled her leather jacket around her tighter. How could she be strong when she had no allies, no friends? Growling low in her throat she watched as couples danced in a blocked off section. IT looked like some dancing competition. More like one fore kids. She could out dance any of those pathetic humans in a heartbeat. But her grace was, un human. It would draw attention she did not wish to have. Dam this life she was cursed to. Was she bound to be alone forever? Of course not. She had to convince herself that there was someone out there somewhere...
Walking into an alley she smiled as she was finally alone. Putting her jacket onto a near by dumpster she bowed to her "partner" Her feet moved gracefully as she twirled and sang a song her mother used to sing to her a a child. God if her mother could see what she could do now. Stopping at that thought she looked up in the sky tilting her head as the stars twinkled silently. "Are you up there?"

Abby walked threw the narrow Paris streets her heart was filled with the sounds of the vendors calls and the music from the road side cafes above it all was the tower itself its light just flickering on as the sun set, she was headed to a small room right at the top of an old Paris house the small money she had was enough to pay for it for a month. Clutched in her hands was a small brown bag inside two apples a sandwich and a baguette for her breakfast the next day.
She smiled as she moved threw the streets, even though she didn’t know the language she sure made her self understood and the shop owners and vendors knew her only after several days, smiling as she would motion to what she wanted and paid. This night she heard the music of the Romany as they med threw the streets dancing and singing, one tried to get her to join but she shook her head and carried on walking her bag clutched tight in her arms.
As she moved threw the alley to the next street she thought she saw some on dancing in it she looked closer “hallo whose acolo? “(Hello, whose there?) She said not even realizing she had spoken in her own language as she moved closer “Hallo?” she called out again. Seeing the figure stop she took a step closer, the bag rustling as she moved , she couldn't go any other way as this w the only passage way that took her t the street the house with her room was on and so she had no choice but to continue forward no matter what happened “suprat la spre interes numai eu am la spre patim” (sorry to interrupt but I have to pass) with out looking she began to walk past but her bag split sending her things spilling out all on the floor.

Dark alleys. Always trouble for any wandering human. You think that they would learn that from horror movies or something. God she hated horror movies. The gruesome scenes didn't bug her. Hell not at all. It was the suspense. It was like god just get it over with! Zoey turned her head as a voice echoed in the alley. She quickly moved into a shadow and watched as a blonde human wandered aimlessly through the alley. Zoey's eyes lit up as a smile curved her lips. She had not eaten in a while. She preferred men and this woman looked rather confused. Not as fun as the ones who though they stood a fight. Maybe she could toy with the girl.
The paper bag the girl held split and random items fell from it. Cocking her head she watched at the discomfort the human portrayed on her face. It was like a friggen horror movie. Groaning she smacked her forehead. She could not kill a girl with suspense. That was one of the things she hated most. Stepping out she glared at the girl. "You really should be more careful." Her tone was impatient. Humans took everything for granite. She was pretty, she probably had a boyfriend.husband at home waiting to hold her affectionately in his arms. Jealous stung deeper and she stepped forward. What made this girl so special? Nothing that she could see.
Discomfort engulfed her. She honestly did not know how to act around her. She could not leap at her, she was in the mood for more of a thrilling kill. If she did something un human the girl might scream and draw attention. Sighing rather loudly she shoved her hands in her pocket. Putting on her "badass" face sometimes did not work out well. And a human was food not friend. She had learnt that lesson long ago. Wincing at the memory she looked up at the moon. So many memories of the past scared her soul. She had so little company to help her with it.
"You shouldn't be in dark alley's at night." She hissed and backed up. This was definatly not like her. But something about this girl drove jealousy through her and she could not stand that feeling. It was like seeing someone get everything they want while you suffered. She had no idea how lucky she was. No human did. Except for...No she was gone. She had tried making friends with humans and they had deceived her. That mistake burns in her memories for eternity

Abby watched as a girl appeared from nowhere she picked up most of the things from her bag and then stood up “I have to go this way” she said “only way home” she sad softly looking up at her from the wall she stood against clutching her things as she began to slowly move towards her so she could pass but she could also feel the fear rise from deep inside her at being confronted with a strange woman with a most strange feeling around her that gave Abby goose bumps , like she had never seen nor felt before it was a strange feeling , her mind also felt numb but that she knew was from fear she had felt it once before in an alley like this as she was being attacked , her shoulder still held the scar as a constant reminder and also it pained her greatly if she moved the wrong way or it was raining. “Who…who are you” she asked her fear now evident in her voice. She felt the first drops of rain on her face as the heavens open over her slowly her clothes began to drip with water and she sighed “guess it couldn’t get any worse” she thought to her self as she stood the baguette slowly becoming soggy and falling to pieces in her hand.” why do you hide in the shadows?” her voice now becoming more daring as she stood n the poring rain cold and wet her room no more than a few feet away from her. she shifted her feet hoping she could sneek past and run to her room to dry of and the safty of its four walls, away from those who would wish her harm.

The rain had started. She loved the rain. As a drop hit her nose she closed her eyes letting it run down the side of her face. It was cooling on this odd night. Her eyes flickered to the girl as she spoke of this being her only way home. That was probably true. Or the human might just be lazy. Shrugging she moved back as the girl stepped towards her. She was already soaking and she hated it but she felt bad. It was a good thing she did not need food to survive because the groceries or whatever she was carrying was already ruining. "Well step out of the rain." She sighed and moved back into the rain so the girl could be sheltered a bit. What was with her. Maybe she just craved some socialization. She must be going looney if she thought a human was a good form of socialization.
Her eyes flashed to the girl again as she asked who she was. Who was she? A creature of darkness, a damned soul that had to survive on the lives of sometimes innocent people. She looked down and shoved her hands in her pocket. "I'm Zoey." Her red hair was sticking her her pale face and she grimaced and pushed it back. The girl probably could not see her well in the shadows. In fact she even questioned why she stayed there. Because that was her safety. Sighing she stepped into the moonlight which showed her true form. If the human had any right mind she would probably run like most. Usually they had a bit of sense when death was walking with them. But this girl seemed rather brave. "I live in the shadows why would I leave them?" She said softly and stared at the girl. She did look rather intimidated and for some reason it made Zoey feel more secure around her.
Growling low in her throat she looked down and shoved her hands in her pockets. I wonder if a vampire walked by and saw her, would they point and laugh. Oh probably. But she barely had anything so giving this human a slight chance to socialize even for a few minutes sort of made her feel not so lonely anymore. "I did not mean to be intimidating you startled me." A lie of course. But the less scared this human was perhaps the better.

Abby watched as the red haired girl stepped out into the moonlight, she still backed off shaking her head as stood in the rain “Abby” she said in her reply to her name “Abby Kari” she felt her body begin to shiver as she stood at her offer of shelter she once again shook her head “you live in shadows?” she said “wouldn’t it be better to stay in the light, safer” her white top now soaked as she held her arms across her chest yet she did turn her back the white shirt now see threw showing the angry scar on her back , deep and long from her shoulder down to the small of her back, she shook off the water from her now wet hair turning back to face her, her eyes now catching the moonlight that filtered threw the rain clouds. Her eyes flashed to the door of the building she was living in, but yet she wanted to stay. Maybe it was the lack of some one to talk to that made her stay she did not know all she knew was some one was willing talking to her and not shouts or screams abuse at her for something she did not understand.
She stood now in the rain watching her “you vampirie” she asked her Rumanian accent slipping out as she spoke those words, she was not scared even if she was she did not care she had come so close to death herself she did not fear it for she knew she would be again some day. Here with bright red hair stood she though one “not seen one with hair like yours, pretty” she said looking at her own drenched hair blond hair “mine boring like me He could not help sneeze

Zoey inclined her head as the girl spoke. Abby. Adorable. She smiled to herself and shover her hands deeper in her pockets. It was a good thing she did not get cold or this rain would be chilling her to the bone. Abby must be freezing. A laugh escaped her as the girl mentioned the light being safer. Ya helllll no. She was a vampire. That was one of the two things that would kill her. But she probably did not know that. Most humans thought there was no such thing as vampires, or werewolves. Just like there is no santa. Gods know that she would be shocked if he was real just like her.
She froze as the girl's accent showed and she guessed what she was. Growling she looked down and backed up a few. So she did know about them. Looking up she saw a scar on the girls shoulder. Tilting her head she looked at it and curiosity burned inside her. Maybe she had a bad experience with a previous vampire. "You assume correctly ma cherie." She sighed and ran a hand through her wet hair. God this soo was not cool. At the thought of hair the girl spoke of hers. A small smile teased her lips and she looked up seeing her bangs. "Oddly enough it is all natural." Most thought she dyed it but she was just born with it. Her mother had been fortunate enough to share it with her.
"How do you know what i am?" She said confused. She had never met a human that had been bold enough to proclaim that to her. Something in the past must have happened. But she could only assume

Abby listened as she said it was her natural hair color , she shivered as a small stream of water ran down her back right between her shoulder blades and into the small of her back.
Standing she sighed as Zoey spoke again, now Abby was curious about this strange woman in front of her but she could not contain the shiver she felt her body do as she stood in the dripping rain.
Brushing the hair from her face yet again, she heard her ask how she knew about what she saw, Abby looked at her “My mother told me stories about your kind when I was small I recognized the fact you don’t want to come into the light and the fact you skin is pail.” she said before she sneezed once more.
Glancing at her hands she saw a slight blue tinge start just at her fingertips, tucking them under her arms she silently curse. She hated the rain, then as if from no where the ally lit up as a blinding flash of light and a boom cracked the air around them. Abby flinched diving under an overhanging window sill shaking not from the cold but from the memory that the sound brought from with in her.
“I ...I am sorry I don’t like storms” she said tucking her self tight as a second boomed. The air around them now feeling as if it crackled with electricity. Abby tensed waiting for yet another crack of thunder “I…I had a bad experience in them” was all she said her body now shaking the water dripped from her hair to the ground around her “I..I just want to go home” she said in almost a whisper as she looked up to Zoey, her eyes now holding sadness and pain from inside her, her body now numbing with the cold rain around her , she could have been cut and she would not have felt it, she was that cold. Abby wanted to get warm moving the best she could she headed towards the end of the alley but as she drew near her numb foot caught a loose coble sending her sprawling to the ground her and hitting hard as she fell.

Dam humans and there circulation. The rain barely bothered her but she could see the human was shaking violently. Zoey turned around seeing the light up houses at the end of the alley. Guess companionship was not something she was going to have tonight. Not in this freezing rain. A small smile of sympathy curved her lips as the girl hid under the shelter she had left. The rain poured heavier and Zoey spat the water out that was trailing into her mouth. She leaned her head back and sighed spinning as the rain poured upon her. IT felt amazing to her..not so good For Abby
Thunder cracked and Zoey turned looking at lightning flash in the sky. She laughed happily and looked up as more thunder crack. Her smile disappeared when the petite girl, Abby, was scared even more bundling herself up. "I'm sorry to hear that." She murmured as the girl spoke of a bad experience. There was a lot of humans afraid of storms. Maybe because of the startling noise or the blinding light. It was also the fear of getting hit by lightening. Zoey's eyes looked over to the scar on the girl's shoulder. Maybe? Bah she did not want to be nosy.
The girl looked even more startled now. Zoey suddenly felt the fear of being alone creep up on her. As Abby started to bolt she yelled after her. "Wait!" No sooner had she yelled that when Abby hit the cold ground. Zoey cursed and ran to her side helping the girl up. She was shivered horribly. "Are you ok?" She asked Lifting the girl and letting her use her as support. God why was she caring how this human felt? She feasted on them nightly. Something about her though, intrigued the lonely and kind Zoey within. Zoey looked around at the houses down the alley. "Which one is yours i'll help you get home." She said gently smiling hoping the girl would put a bit of trust upon her.
Besides a long time ago she used to actually care about every living thing. She had nothing to loose by helping one innocent hurt human...right?

Abby felt arms pull her up her head throbbed, she reached back and touched it wincing as she did , but as she brought her hand to her face, she saw red, her hand now covered with her own blood , and her eyes looked at Zoey worried that she might attack her with the smell of blood around her.
Her eyes drifted in and out of focus but she heard her ask which house was hers. Abby knew if she was to get home and warm she had to trust her, but a vamp, she took the chance and pointed to the house with a blue door “home” she said painfully as once more her eyes blurred and she groaned fighting the urge to sleep as the rain bounced of her face.
Slowly she pulled her self together, fighting the pain and the dizziness she felt she sat up using Zoey to leaver herself up staggering to lean on a wall the blood now staining her white shirt as it mingled with the rain now running down her back. Her mind now racing back to her attack the same smell filled the air, the smell of blood, hers as it ran from the gash on the back of her head and down the side of her face, she looked at Zoey but could not focus not think straight “help me?” she asked now leaning against the wall she once coward at yet in the same breath she became scared as the image of the man who had cut her appeared, she raised her arms to wipe the image away, closing her eyes as she did to block out his face and called out “ no,no , plecare eu un lone “ (no,no, leave me a lone) but his eyes kept staring at her as if looking into her soul “tu vei a fi al meu I voin; a voi have tu” (you will be mine, I will have you ). Her arms moving as if trying to fend off an unseen attacker her face now filled with fear, the fear she had felt when he had said those words in the ally several years ago as he tried to take her , failing he had taken a knife and plunged it into her back but not before making that promise.

The sent of blood filled the air. It seeped into her mind and she slowly inhaled the sweet smell. Greattt. Biting back she tried to ignore it. If she had not just fed an hour ago then the poor girl would be dead. Zoey ripped the sleeve off her shirt and used it as a mask to cover the scent of blood. "I have to or else I will go for you." She said calmly as the girl whimpered in pain. The wound was not bad. A small gash but she was probably in a lot of pain. She had hit her head like that before. Definatly not fun.
Zoey frowned as the girl pointed to the house then moved away. Why was she walking away did she frighten her. Startled at the sudden outburst Zoey watched Abby thrash at the empty space screaming in horror. Zoey inclined her head as french poured out of the girls mouth. Interesting. Zoey slowly walked up catching her hands. "Shhh Ma cherie it's ok i will help you home." Compassion was something she rarely gave to humans. Abby obviously had some troubles in the past. Zoey gently picked her up cradling her small body. The cloth helped mask the scent of her blood, but not fully. Zoey bit back a growl of frustration as he started to run towards the house. Once reaching the front door she looked at Abby. "I need your keys." She said as they were sheltered
God dammit. Of course it was locked. And the poor girl was bleeding from the head. Zoey growled low in her throat as she gently set Abby down on the step leaning her head against the wall. Zoey took off her jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. If they did not get inside quickly the girl was going to get pneumonia.

Abby felt some ones hands on her wrists gripping them, stopping her from moving and a female voice speaking to her it was then she remembered Zoey. She breathed hard struggling, but she managed to push the image a side long enough for her to speak. “Da, casa yes, home” she said softly as she felt herself move.
How she did not know, but she was moving. Her head pounded more and more as each foot step reverberated in her head as they moved. Soon she heard the voice again asking for her keys, ordinarily she would not have given them to any stranger, but her mind was now as numb as her body and she had no choice, it was ether let her in or die in the alley and she didn’t want that. “Left buzunar” she said wincing “left pocket” she repeated, groaning as the sound of even her own voice now sent a shot of pain threw her head. She wished, no, she wanted to lie in her own bed, warm and safe. Her body shivered now involuntarily. This too sent her wincing as she tried to curl up into a ball, as she would if she was in her own bed, but who ever held her stopped her from doing so.
Her mind drifted back to that night, the rain beating down hard against her as she walked home, the dim light from the windows over head lighting her way but just barely and the sound of her foot steps on the cobble stone floor keep her company. Suddenly a second set of foot steps found her ears and her heart skipped a beat as she quickly looked around to see who was following her. It was then out of the blue, some one pounced her knocking her to the ground and pinning her by her arms. She twisted and turned under the person, it was then she heard his voice and she froze. “don't deny eu ce is al meu” (don't deny me what is mine) his voice filled with hate and lust. She tried to cry out but he hit her across her face splitting her lip, she could taste her blood as it pooled in the corner of her mouth. “I sînt nu al tu la spre have” (I am not yours to have) she heard her self cry out as she felt her shirt being pulled from her trousers. She raised her leg and kicked out, hearing him grunt and release his grip she spun around. Now to her stomach and with all the strength she had, her nails grasped for the smallest hold. She felt his hand grip her ankle tight and drag her back to him. Windows in the alley shut tight as if the occupants wanted nothing to do with the ugly scene happening in the ally below there very windows. She felt his nails dig into her flesh as he tightened his grip around her, then she felt it, something cold pressed to her back and the sound of ripping material. The cold air hit her back as she struggled under him as he sat a top of her. She managed to turn to face him, her hand swiping at him as her nails cut his cheek. She saw with terror the glint of a knife with a dragon hilt grasped tight in his hand. He struck back at her and her head gashed at his strike and she lay stunned under him. Then came the words she would never forget “o zi tu vei a fi al meu sau tu vei zar la meu mîn; “(one day you will be mine or you will die at my hand) Her heart froze as she felt the same cold pressed against her bare skin at the top of her skirt. It was then a shout came from the end of the ally, the cold disappeared from her skirt only as a searing pain shot threw her body as she realized, he had plunged the knife into her back. The pain moved down her body till she felt she could take no more. She felt warm liquid and she knew it was her own blood running down her naked sides. “Nu matter unde tu energie sau ce tu a face , tu vei a fi al meu” (no matter where you go or what you do , you will be mine ) His face now so close to her ear that the smell of him made her fell sick to her stomach, as she slowly passed out to the sound of men’s voices, all holding concern in them.
Abby could feel something over her as she slowly woke her body ached as it had the morning she had woke after her attack , her shoulder aching along with it but that was noting new it always did after a rain storm “cum cut i a lua aici?” (How did I get here?) She asked coughing at the dryness in her throat, but thankful for the warmth that now enveloped her from the sheets and blankets that now lay over her. Looking around she sighed seeing only her room her wet clothes gone.

Zoey cursed as she fumbled to get the keys from her pocket. Abby was moaning and Zoey suddenly felt a bit of panic rise in her. Why, she had no idea, but for once it would sadden her to see a human die. It shouldn't for she feasted on them. Zoey shoved the key in the lock and pushed the door open dropping the keys on a counter she lifted Abby effortlessly and brought her inside. Zoey slammed the door shut and flicked on some lights. She grimaced slightly but right now she had bigger problems than that.
Abby's body was still shaking horribly. Her clothes were clung to her and her lips were turning blue. "Please don't take this wrong." She murmured as Zoey helped to pull off her wet clothes. She grabbed some blankets she found in a closet and wrapped the freezing human in them. Awkwardly Zoey watched her shake on the couch. God Abby was going to think she was some sort of creep now. Groaning she rolled her eyes and wrapped her arms around her rubbing the blanket. "Stay warm." She said trying to warm the girl. What else did humans do to get warm? It had been so long since she had been human. Her mother used to....God what was it. Closing her eyes Zoey tried to reach across her memory and remember...
Zoey sneezed as she walked back towards home. At only five, it was freezing outside. The cold air whipped at her face reddening her cheeks. Running around the corner she climbed the steps to her house and walked in. Zoey's mother gasped seeing her daughter. "No ma cherie you did not go play in the snow!" She groaned taking off the girl's wet clothes. She rushed Zoey to the table putting a bowl of hot soup in front of her. "Please my love next time dress up better and do not go out in such cold temperatures?" Zoey smiled rubbing her nose on her sleeve as she happily ate her chicken soup. The warm broth warmed from her throat to her stomach instantly making her feel better...
Eyes opening Zoey looked at Abby. Hot food. Soup. Cursing she realized she had not cooked in over two hundred years. "If i can figure out a cell phone i can make soup." She proclaimed giving Abby one last arm rub before heading tot he kitchen. The cupboards were loaded with food. What did soup look like these days? Confused she saw some tin cans. Reaching up she pulled one down. Chunky chicken noodle soup. They actually determined soup on chunky and skinny chickens? Baffled she bit at the can trying to open it. What the hell. Growling she searched for a knife and stabbed the top. She tasted it with her finger and winced. It was cold. Looking at the stove she got even more confused. IT was not wood burning like hers had been all those years ago. Looking closely she saw knobs that read front burner, high or low and rear burner. Hmm. She turned the front burner to high and flames shot out. Shocked she smiled in accomplishment and placed the can on the stove. Who said vampire could not cook?
Looking back into the living room she heard Abby slowly talk. "I brought you in." She smiled pointing to the stove. "And i'm making soup so you will warm up. I have not cooked in over two hundred years but i assumed this is correct?" Walking into the living room she sat beside the girl. "I won't hurt you. I am a vampire and I do feast on humans but...I honestly have not had any companionship in so long and you hit your head...." Zoey cut herself off mid sentence. She closed her eyes inhaling the scent. God it smelt delicious. But she refrained. She needed to have willpower. Besides. The girl intrigued her inner compassion.

Abby looked at the stove and chuckled “put it in a pan” she said pointing to several that hung on a rack above to stove she tried to move but found her head spun a little so sat back down groaning under her breath she cursed the fact she could do nothing for her self and so pulled the blanket back around her, hoping it would stop soon and she could dress. She heard her say she was a vampire and for some reason she felt comfortable with it she never got on with people of her own kind why should they be any different, she sighed and spoke again” it will do “she said softly and tired still she felt a chill threw her even as though she was wrapped in the blankets, reaching up she felt the bump and dried blood that sat mingled in her hair, she so desperately wanted a shower and to feel warm. Slipping from the couch she held tight to the back of it a she shakily stood up the blanket held tight around her naked cold body “J...just t..taking, Sh..shower” she said shivering again as slowly she moved to a door she lent on it not even having the strength to turn the door knob even half way so she rested her head against the warm wood and shook. “I…I must s…seem pathetic t…to some one .l…like you” she said softly her eyes closed as she wished the vampire would just bite her and get he miserable life over with, she moved her hand from the brass handle and placed it on the flat on the door feeling its wood against the palm of her hand, her other held the blanket from slipping from around her. Even though she knew she must have seen her already, this thought sent a shiver down her spine as she had never exposed her self to any one. She had never felt it right with any man, but she had a sense that told her when the right man came along she would know as she would feel it deep inside her.
