Tiger! Tiger! Burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the firs of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, and what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? and what dread feet?
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the firs of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, and what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? and what dread feet?
Layla wandered through the forests. It was odd that she loved the environment so much. She had never been the one to want to run in the woods as a child, not far from her home anyway. And she had never gone alone, almost always having the shadow of the governess hanging over her shoulder. Maybe that was why she took advantage of her freedom to wander in her new life. Well, maybe not new any longer, but the one that she was given a second chance to live. There were those out there who believed in her kind and thought that they were monsters, abominations. However, Layla saw her life as a second chance to live life the way it was meant to be lived, freely.
As she walked through the trees, she did so without looking where she was going or navigating any sort of a path for herself. It was something that she had learned how to do after centuries of practice. Layla could walk through a forest and come out without a single leaf in her hair, not even a dirt smear on her clothes. It was as if the trees and branches moved out of her way, she walked confidently and fluidly through the trees and watched as they made way for her.
This walk was good for her peace of mind, however, it was lonely. Her life had been becoming more and more a study of dullness than one of excitement as it had been years ago. With the return of Sebastian, Layla hoped that her life would once again pick back up. Maybe it would start to move at a more interesting pace. Then again, Julian presented an interesting new addition as well. Who knew what would happen there. He was so much younger than herself, but what did years mean when you had more than you could count? She shrugged to herself and continued on her walk, lost in her own thoughts.
