Vienna smiled; she was back home, where her family lines could be traced for generations. This place had always been close to her heart, having bragged about her Italian roots throughout high school, and earning respect quickly not only for her violence, but the stereotypical violence of all Italians. No where could make Vienna as happy as Rome. She got her love of a city, nestled in the old world, with polite residents and an overall comfortable feel. As Vienna always said, the best of everything came from Italy. Shoes, cars, food, men, women, whatever your heart desired. As of now, Vienna was idling around the spacious streets, with not many humans out, it was 4 a.m. She was meeting a friend here, for a little exotic trip, and Vienna couldn’t stay away from her history. Vienna wanted to share Italy with Kylah, no one ever really had the feeling for it unless they traveled there and were shown the real parts of Italy by someone who knew it for what it was, and not some random tour. Vienna was pacing anxiously in front of one of her favorite restaurants, excited and as impatient as ever.
She was whistling to herself and a cool wind made the otherwise scorching night pleasant. Italy was hot in the winter, unbearable in the summer. In the spring, like now, it could be either, but having moved to New York, Vienna found herself more comfortable in the cold these days. Regardless of Vienna’s undeniably dysfunctional and plain dangerous past, she was proud of it and her roots. She was quicker to accept her faults than her strengths and loved anything that made her different, whether it was a good trait or not. To her, it was that exact mess of a childhood that made her the brutally honest and strong person she was now. Her pacing had stopped as she sensed another vampire coming closer, hopefully her friend. She traded her frantic movements for the casual stance of crossed arms, and her weight leaning on one leg. She looked up at the stars and the moon in the sky; it was a half moon, shining gloriously over the little town. Wishful thinking filled Vienna head and she was curious as to where the night would take them.
((Sorry for it being ridiculously short, I'll do better next time I swear!))

((It's all good, don't worry about it. xD I can easily respond to that.))
Kylah brought her gaze up to the stars. She always enjoyed the stars. She never knew why. It was something she liked to look at after anything bad would happen at home. She got so fed up at her house some nights, with her mother being a drunken sex addict and her father's death. He deserved it though, for all the terrible things he did to her and her twin sister. It wasn't right what he did, and all Ky could think about was the fact that her step father killed her twin after raping her.
She sighed, bringing her eyes back to the ground, tears threatening to fall. She realized what city she was in, a city she's never been to other than this one time. And she would get the proper tour, from someone who lived there long enough to know all the good places. She let out another sigh through parted lips, and heard someone up ahead.
She was where she was supposed to meet Vienna, a little Italian restaurant she told Ky to meet her at. "Hello," Kylah said to her friend. She smiled to her. She didn't really know what to say. All she knew was that she was another vampire in a town she never thought would have them.
Apparently, what she didn't know about other countries and vampires, she was usually wrong.

(Just a reminder, we try to keep posts at least 300 words)
A smile lit across Vienna’s face as her young, blonde friend approached. “Well hello there kid, ready to see the best of Italy?” Excitement layered Vienna’s soft, smooth voice. She started to pace on the old brick roads again, and looked far ahead into the darkness. “How about we start out at an old place I used to hang around in the summers when I was here?” With a wistful look back towards Kylah she started off at a brisk pace. To get to one of her favorite spots it would take a while, but the walk was beyond worth it.
“See there’s this little spot up in the mountains, it’s perfectly cleared out and you can see the whole city laid out beneath it along with the sea. We used to have the craziest parties up here, no cops would bother us.” Vienna’s grin widened, “And when we got particularly courageous you could walk a little to this gorgeous cliff, and dive right off into the water, here you could cliff dive even in the winter, it’d still be warmer than almost anywhere in America.” Whenever Vienna started to speak of her childhood here she grew longing, she loved the days she spent goofing off in the countryside, and that all the trouble she could cause she perfectly acceptable, and punishment was rarely given. The few times Vienna did find herself in a tight spot her father or her brothers would be there, the stereotypical overprotective family Italians were famous for. In this country, she still hadn’t seen the bad, none of her friends had died, and no one had gone to jail. Back where she lived now, in New York, and across the country, it wasn’t the same. It seemed as the putting the law on it made more people get hurt, more die. A good number of her friends had been put behind bars, leaving her to face a good chunk of her life alone, and to join a crowd worse than her own, one she couldn’t leave, not for eternity.
They were drawing near as Vienna glanced first at the sky, then back at the vampire trailing along with her. “We’re almost there, and trust me, you’ll be blown away.” Through trees she traveled, and pulling long, warped branches out of the way, she reached a large, empty clearing, with more dirt than grass. The dirt was well packed, from many footprints. The trees seemed to separate in a perfect, wide circle around them. Just lightly through the treetops you could make out the stars sparkling in the sky, and looking straightforward, it seemed as if the rest of the world lay before you.

((I'm sorry. I though it was three hunfred when I looked. And I was pressed for time at school. I'm sorry.))
Kylah glanced around Italy as her friend took her around. She was astounded with all the different lights and sights to see. So, she was easily entertained. She loved going somewhere new. It made her want to explore. Technically she was exploring, just with a guide today. Maybe it was better this way, she wouldn't get into trouble with another person here. Unless she started the trouble, Ky would be willing to join in. She didn't know what enticed her so much. It was just a feeling.
She sighed, listening to her friend talk. She looked over the cliff, and she smiled. "Let's go cliff diving then," Ky said. Her smile turned into a smirk, her hand going onto her hip. She just wanted adrenaline rughing through her. It was a good thing for her, she liked the high it gave her. But, when Vienna moved, so did she. Maybe they could go cliff diving later, maybe wake some people up with their noise. Her friend said they never got into trouble up here, so they probably would be safe to scream as loud as they wanted.
She breathed in, and out. A force of habit from being a human. She was only turned a few months ago, maybe a year. She wasn't paying attention really. She just knew that Shaden changed her, and she was with him all the time. Not that she was complaining. She enjoyed being with him. It made her think what would happen in the future with them.
She glanced at the clearing, her eyes moving to the sky. The stars sparkled between the trees, and she smiled. She couldn't help it. Stars made her smile. She would always play her guitar outside at night. It made her wonder if she should have brought her guitar. "This is beautiful," she mumbled.

“We can jump in a minute; I just want to look around this old place.” Vienna said, with a glance back as she walked at the edges of the clearing. By the looks of it, people still came here frequently for parties, maybe even the people she was with when she was younger. If so, she still couldn’t join them, not even for a night, because someone would be bound to question why she still looked just nineteen. Wandering around the space she wrapped her hand around one of the tree branches and let the direction it warped off into guide her. The tree was full of knots and she remembered when they found a decent hole in a tree everyone would pass notes through it, and every time someone new answered, and a new friend gained.
Although they all were classified as big time trouble-makers, many of them drop-outs, it was rare they ever had a problem with each other. There was either an understanding for the others situation, or at the very least, mutual respect. Vienna, along with the rest of them, mainly had problems when they ran into the snobbier kids, from uptown, who would always have everything in life handed to them on a silver platter, with a fit beforehand if need be. All of them might as well be preschoolers and their philosophy of life was that if you weren’t rich then you had to be a fuck-up. No, Vienna recalled plenty of fights, often in the public, sometimes before she even managed to get out of the school. Later, when she found herself up here, no questions were asked, and a good time was always in the cards. Kylah’s comment brought Vienna back from her reminiscing.
“It’s definitely gorgeous up here, now do you want to jump or not?” Vienna grabbed hold of her friend’s hand and led her to the edge of the cliff. She smiled crookedly at her, and glanced down at the rocky drop in front of her, into smooth, calm waters.
“How about on the count of three?” Vienna asked, not waiting for a reply. “1…2….3!” Vienna jumped off the cliff and let out a scream of thrill, like on a rollercoaster. As with any long drop, time seemed to pause, allowing the moment to last forever, before Vienna’s curled legs hit the water, pulling the rest of her far under. She paused for a moment under the water, feeling her weightlessness, before pushing her way to the surface, to take an unneeded breath. The second the air hit her face, the widest grin of the night spread across her face. Searching for Kylah and finding her she asked, “So what do you think? Are Italy’s cliffs thrilling or what?”
