Kodiak was glad to have some time off, and he intended to fully enjoy himself. Periodically, between times when he was doing things for acid and the Bane, there would be small increments of time when he didn't have to worry about anything and he could simply relax.
At times, he felt bad for escaping from his hectic and demanding schedule. He had more frequent flier miles than he knew what to do with. Acid never got a break, so why should Kodi get one? But, even with his internal arguments and his guilt, his wolf would not allow him to neglect it. The wolf demanded these periods of downtime, no matter how small.
And so, having finished his duties and commitments to the Bane, Kodi left Germany and flew to America. Montana, to be more precise. The mountains there were rumored to be very beautiful. Wild and free. The perfect place to let his wolf run free.
He would keep his cellphone on him, and if Acid called with something for him to do, he knew that he would immediately board a plane that would take him to wherever Acid needed him to be. He knew what his priorities were, and first and foremost was his loyalty to the Bane and his Alpha and best friend, Acid. He had placed Acid's requests for him above his own desires countless times, and would continue to do so. He followed and obeyed Acid of his own free will.
Once he was deep into the woods, he stripped out of his button up white shirt and stepped out of his jeans and boxers, folding them so that they would fit easily into the small sachel he would carry with him, and to keep them from wrinkling. Kodiak liked the well kept, clean cut look, so he would not take to his clothes being wrinkled very kindly. One single piece of hair seemed determined to drive him insane, constantly and stubbornly hanging in his face, no matter what he did.
Placing his cell phone in the top of his satchel and placing it around his neck, he gave himself up to the Shift. Fur grew over his skin as bones began to contort. His face and spinal cord lengthening, as well as his teeth. The change only took a second, and then a grey wolf stood in place of the man. The wolf threw his head back and howled his pleasure at finally being allowed to run loose to the heavens before taking off in a quick, energetic run.
He abandoned the deer trail for the tougher, more wild areas on the mountain, thoroughly enjoying the feel of hard ground beneath his paws, the feel of running free and unconcerned for two legged worries and affairs. His mind was more lupin than man, and it was a relief. He could see and smell things in the woods that, as a man, he wouldn't have cared or noticed, but as a wolf, seemed very important, even a little amusing.
For two solid hours he ran, reveling in the feel of his muscles rippling beneath his fur as he simply ran, chasing a random bunny or two just for the fun, keeping his pace controlled so that he never caught them, just chased them into their burrow.
He wished Acid was there to join in his fun. It had been a long time since Acid had done something like this. Let go of all worries and concerns and simply let the wolf out to play. To run and just enjoy the feel of the wind blowing through his fur... To chase a rabbit, not to kill, but just because it was fun! He wondered if he could talk Acid into it? He could hear his best friend's response now, and he barked out a quick laugh.
He was getting thirsty, and needed water, so he slowed his pace to a kind of trot, his nose low to the ground, trying to sniff out a creek or something. Instead, he caught the fresh scent of a lycan, a female. curiosity seized him and he followed the scent, caution making him stay well hidden. What were the chances he would run into another of his kind here?
Now that he actually paid attention, he found that the scent smelled of she-wolf, like she had been there before, or there had been another wolf in the vicinity before now. Thunder rolled in the sky and the rain began falling. He looked up, his tail twitching slightly. He didn't mind the rain, but he just hoped it wouldn't get rid of the female's scent, though he doubted it. It would take more than a little drizzle to rid a area of a scent that he had already caught. He was a excellent tracker, and if he set his mind to it, he would find her, scent or no scent. But, he wasn't tracking her, merely curious.
He padded over to a clearing off in the distance, the wind bringing him her scent again, before switching directions and blowing his straight towards her. If she was paying attention, she would know he was close. Would she run? Or would she stick around? He meant her no harm, he was merely curious. He stopped at the edge and laid eyes on a large white wolf. She was laying on the ground, and he took a step forward so that she could clearly see him, tilting his head slightly as he eased forward, wondering if she would be friend of foe, cautiously sniffing the air between the two of them.

But the wolf did. And once the wolf was brought into the picture it became less a choice than an obligation. This was Sombra – for better or worse it was her. Breathing a quiet sigh, she stood. The fur aloft her spine had mechanically ascended in an effort to disclose something akin to animosity but not exactly that – she was not friendly, but neither was she seeking a brawl at this particular moment. She had caught a whiff of something familiar on his scent. A wolf she had come across. One she was none too fond of. Acid. A vampire hunter of sorts…and a fool. Her brow ticked at the memory, and the wolf within snarled – that was where the hostility was focused. A single, hollow “woof” announced a borderline amiable greeting but more than that there was not. She wasn’t a social being…but this was a social encounter. We’d have to see what happened… [/ul] TAG YOUR IT - Kodiak WORD COUNT - 753 NOW FOR THE OUTFIT – Erm.
