IT IS BETTER TO LIGHT A CANDLE

Than curse the Darkness The frosty air blew against Codie's cheek bones softly as she walked slowly and casually through the Marketplace. It was very different to her having been used to hanging out in shopping malls and such on late nights but she didn't mind, the sense of actually being able to semi-shop had brought out the girlie side of her and she was enjoying the night out. Codie took a sip of the Caramel latte she bought earlier, the warm liquid sliding down her throat felt as hot as the rest of her body did on a normal regular day. She smiled softly to herself as she thought about Desmond, giving her surroundings a quick check wondering if she was going to catch sight of him tonight. I hope I do, I sure do miss him she thought to herself as a sigh escaped her lips. Truth be told any night she was away from him pulled at her heart strings, even the days were beginning to get too difficult for her. Codie knew the two of them could never hang out like a normal couple... going to the beach, soaking up the warm rays of the sun While getting sun cancer Codie thought bitterly to herself. It did occasionally bug her a tiny bit that she couldn't do certain things with Desmond, but not once did it change her mind about him. Codie was in love... truly, madly and deeply in love. Not even the beautiful warm enjoyment of the sun could stop it. Her thoughts went back to the previous night she had shared with him. The two of them had finally told each other their pasts and despite what Desmond may have done in the past, it too couldn't grasp onto the handles of her love for him. That night Codie had given herself to him, both mentally and psychically, and she held no regrets. He was the man of her dreams, the love of her life and at this point in her life she couldn't be happier. The thought of her family back in America hadn't faded from her mind, but she was admittedly starting to not feel as bad as she did at the beginning about leaving them without giving them so much as a word. The Marshall's are a loving family, Codie has always been thankful for having a family that cared and loved her as much as they do... but she couldn't just stop loving Desmond either. Both parties meant so much to her and it often pained her to think that neither one of them would get along in the end. Her brothers on their own would probably give Desmond a tough time. Codie's mind trailed back to the other night again when she had mentioned to him about her older siblings... he had given her a loving squeeze and told her he wasn't going anywhere. She came back to, finding herself smiling again. Codie truly had found herself a keeper this time and she was going to fight to keep their flame elite. By this time Codie had been sitting on a vacant bench along the side of the road, drinking her cup of coffee while on the odd occasion getting lost down the memory lane labeled 'Desmond'... That was until something caught her eye... [/blockquote] I leave you with 552 words from Codie, as she's ROCKIN' her fur in this and howling at, the fact that during this post she was running out of ideas haha..

Desmond was hungry. He hadn’t had a proper vampy meal in a long time and it was due time for a happy meal. Trees whipped past him as he chased his fast food through a small forest on the outskirts of town. Deer was on the menu today, which was a pretty decent meal for Des. It wasn’t like ordering an exquisitely prepared bacon wrapped filet mignon at a high end restaurant but at least it was a substantial and appeasing portion of sustenance. The frightened doe ran futilely from him as it’s heart beat violently against it’s chest, the sound resonating audibly in Desmond’s ears. It’s breath came out in rattled sighs as it struggled to outrun death, to out run Dessie. He was close now, within distance for that final fatal lunge, his leg muscles tensed as they prepared to spring forward and catch his lunch. The doe quickly veered to the right and through a dense thicket of bushes, which delayed lunchtime for a few more moments. What this hunk of venison lacked in speed it made up for in brains. Des liked a good challenge but he also liked being well fed so it was time to stop playing with his food and end this little hunting extravaganza.
They were close to the edge of the tree line where forest became city and Des knew he had to finish this before the doe escaped beyond the trees into plain sight. The doe sprinted for that tree line towards safety, towards life, towards SNAP!!!! Desmond landed hard upon the does back just as it’s front paws crossed the tree line. It had made it, but not alive. Desmond sunk his fangs into the tender hunk of venison and satiated a long overdue hunger for blood. Blood trickled from his lips as he finished draining the doe dry. “mmmmm good to the last drop.”
It was only after the thrill of the hunt had come to an appetizing end did he become aware of his surroundings. He was just across the street from the marketplace in plain view now that the trees were no longer keeping him hidden. Luckily not many were out this late but the one that mattered was. Codie was sitting on a bench and he must have caught her attention because she was looking directly at him now. Desmond shifted uneasily and tried to tidy up his now ragged clothes and hide the blood that adorned him from the kill. He never intended for Codie to see this side of him and now here he was, literally red handed. With an awkward wave he tried to make the moment less tense as he began to head Codie’s way. There was sure to be a list of questions about what she had just witnessed, disgust in him, perhaps even anger. Whatever awaited him didn't matter, he loved Codie enough to confront it. She had seen the monster in him while in action and that was enough to turn anyone off.
The word count is 533 and Des is wearing this and oh yea, I sorry it took forever to reply!!t.

Than curse the Darkness As the bushes moved revealing a deer directly across the street from where she was sitting, she watched it rather puzzled at why the poor creature looked so frightened. That's when her question had been answered. Codie knew it was him before he even came into view but it still didn't erase the feeling of utter shock and dispear as Desmond drunk from the creature as though it was pure nature to him... well, really it was, but it was something Codie had never witnessed before. Nearly every second of her life she thought about him, but it never occuried to her that he did infact need to drink blood one way or another. Codie watched as he drained the last remaining drop of blood from the now lifeless creature. As it's body hit the ground, Codie felt herself flinch a little, she loved animals dearly and to watch the hands of a loved one hurt a beautiful animal made her feel slightly ill in the pit of her stomach. She couldn't help but just sit there and stare at him as he noticed she was sitting there watching him. Codie knew he felt a bit funny that she had witnessed what she had by his next moves as he got up and straightened himself out. When Desmond started making his way over to her, she didn't move. Instead she kept her eyes on him suddenly not really feeling like the rest of her coffee. When he reached her, she felt the moment of silence feel like it was dragging out forever before opening her mouth to speak, " There's something you don't see every day" she thought out loud before giving him a small almost forced smile. It hadn't changed the way she felt about him, Codie loved Desmond dearly but to see what she had just seen, played on her mind like a song on repeat. She leaned over and placed what was left of her coffee in the bin sitting beside the bench, before turning her attention back to Desmond. Codie studied him for a moment, wondering if he was thinking that she might be angry with him for what he done. Casually she stood up from the bench, stepping closer to Desmond. Codie gently wiped with her thumb, a small splash of blood that had remained hidden in the corner of Desmond's mouth. She then traced his mouth softly with her finger tip, remembering what it was that she had seen. Codie wasn't afraid of Desmond, a part of her knew that even though she was a werewolf if he wanted he could probably have her too. Codie slowly moved her hand away as she watched him curiously, she wasn't sure where to go from here. What could she say to her beloved Dessie to make him feel more at ease, " Just out for Lunch today?" spoke Codie trying to lighten the mood by giving Desmond every opportunity for a sarcastic line or two, although she was mentally abusing herself in her mind for such a stupid question. Although being close to midnight it probably was really lunch time for Dessie, but as for what was on the menu... it didn't appeal to her at all. [/blockquote] I leave you with 543 words from Codie, as she's ROCKIN' her fur in this and howling at, well... nothing really haha. I'm bored, at home by myself at the moment with nothing else better to do..

As he approached Codie she mentioned his little hunt as being something you don't see everyday and she was right. A normal person would pull through a drive through to get their food instead of having to hunt for it as an animal would. Desmond didn't exactly fall under the normal category. She smiled the smile he loved so much but this time it was lacking that genuine sparkle that lit up her eyes. He knew she was bothered to some degree by his little snack and inwardly cursed that deer for leaving the tree line and exposing his eating habits to Codie. Des knew how much she loved animals and slaughtering bambi in front of your girlfriend doesn't exactly get you plus points. There was a tense moment of silence as Codie put her coffee cup in the trash bin before turning back to him. He didn't want to say anything. He couldn't say anything. What could he possibly say to justify his deranged eating habits?
Codie slowly rose from her seated position on the bench and moved closer towards him as if approaching a wild animal. As she brushed the blood from his lips Dessie stood motionless, still trying to figure out what was going on in Codie's head right now. She looked deep into his eyes as the silence continued to stretch on, threatening to drive Desmond insane. Finally, after what felt like ages, she spoke. Just out for lunch today? She had just had front row seats to the mauling of a deer and her response sounded as if he simply went out for burgers with some friends. He loved her for trying but knew that she wasn't completely fine. Despite the fact that he wanted to talk about it seriously he went with something he was more comfortable with.............sarcasm. "Yea, the line at burger king was kinda long so I thought I'd try some real fast food." He forced a grin but still couldn't shake the tension that hung in the air. Des shifted his weight uncomfortably and decided to figure out what she really thought about what she had just witnessed. "What's going through your mind right now? What are you REALLY thinking Codie? No one watches something like that and just says "out for lunch?""

Than curse the Darkness Codie watched Desmond speak as he asked her what she was really feeling. She studied him closely, remembering it was near impossible to let anything pass Desmond when it came to her feelings. In a way it felt almost as if he knew her from the inside out. Lying was never an A grade subject for Codie; her brothers could always tell when she wasn't telling the truth about something and now Dessie had joined the crew, I'll have to work on that she thought to herself before looking into Desmond's eyes once more, " What am I really thinking..." Codie repeated trying not to sound mad, as really she was just trying to pass time while she tried to think of a good enough answer. The truth was always a good place to start. "Well to be honest... it's not the most attractive thing to see your boyfriend take a bite out of a defenseless animal that hadn't done anything to deserve such a fate"" Codie spoke truthfully, she knew more than likely the hurt probably shone through her eyes at that particular time, but animals were her passion. She watched Desmond closely for his reaction, she loved him dearly and despite what she may have been feeling, she knew nothing would ever change that. "But..." Codie went on, this time taking a seat again on the bench, " Having said that, I mean... I'm not really one to talk. God only knows how many things I've killed during one of my many furry nights." It worried her a lot when it came to what she may have done whenever she lost control, for the first couple of years it frightened her pretty badly and still to this day she often became paranoid by her wolf like actions. Looking up at Desmond she gave him one of her smiles which almost seemed contagious whenever she was around him, she never wanted him to feel as though she were angry with him, " Des, I could never be mad at you for what you did tonight, it's what you are and if you weren't what you are I never would have the privilege of knowing you, the guy I love more than anything else in the World. And if that doesn't satisfy you by what I am thinking, I'm actually kind of glad it was a deer and not a human.... or a wolf for that fact" She laughed a little at her own attempt at a sad way of lightening the mood before turning her attention back to Desmond, " It's nice to see you again tonight though, I was actually just thinking about you..." she blushed a little at what she said next, " I missed you". [/blockquote] I leave you with 458 words from Codie, as she's ROCKIN' her fur in this and howling at, thankfully not the moon tonight hahaha..
