Codie sat a top of a tree branch, with her back leaning up against the trunk. She wasn't exactly high off the ground, but high enough that it was difficult to see her unless you were actually looking for her. Codie fiddled with her fingernails as she begun to feel slightly nervous. Not that she was above the ground [Codie hates heights], but the fact that she was awaiting Desmond's arrival, and had been since sunset an hour ago. It hadn't occurred to her until last night while talking with Rose that both her and Desmond, despite being fascinated with each other, knew nothing of the others past and it somewhat made her a little jumpy as to how he was going to react to seeing his girlfriend with four legs and fur... sure it was one thing to joke about it, but to actually see it was another entirely. She contemplated whether or not to show him tonight what she could do but was leaning more toward the 'no'. Not that she didn't want to, but more or less because she hadn't exactly thought it through well enough to bring spare clothes with her.
A cool gust of wind blew, she felt it through her chocolate brown locks. For a regular human it more than likely would've caused them to shiver, but for Codie it was nothing as it hit her soft skin where her clothing didn't touch. Her warm body felt comfortable in the cool weather, wearing her regular attire of jeans and a hugging tee. She'd been singing softly and quietly to herself in an effort to get herself to calm down for what was going to happen tonight. What are you so worried about Codie? she thought to herself, Desmond loves you, he said so himself... and the dog breathe? that was just a joke!. It wasn't long before Codie could hear someone heading in her direction... the beauty of having sensitive hearing. A bright smile formed on her face as a familiar Vampire scent filled her nostrils.
He'd found her, just as he always did. Her singing may not have calmed her down but the now close odor of Desmond did... rather quickly. Codie stood up from where she was sitting, walking along the branch momentarily before casually leaping down, landing her feet softly on the firm ground below. She wasn't quite sure where he was or even if he was close to reaching her just yet but she sensed he couldn't be too far away. Codie made sure that Desmond would be able to make it here to see her once the sun had gone down that day, she felt they needed to talk privately together and what was more private than out in the middle of the woods? She'd hoped he wasn't thinking this was going to be yet another scene like the bookstore back in Seattle as that was far from her mind. Codie had prepared herself all day for this talk and she could safely say that no matter what Desmond was like in his past, he'd forever more have her by his side. But would he feel the same way about her? She was about to find out.

Codie had asked Desmond to meet her in the woods just outside of the city limits but she never specified exactly where within the dense foliage she would be waiting. Where’s Waldo? he thought jokingly to himself as he entered the woods. He then began to move smoothly and effortlessly through the forest, weaving expertly between trees as they sped by, all the while smiling at the game of hide and seek he felt like he was playing. Despite the darkness he was able to see everything in pristine clarity, vampire vision beat out even military issue night goggles with ease, it was a good thing too because otherwise he wouldn’t of seen the low hanging branch ahead of him. He eloquently did a sliding limbo under it, never interrupting his pace in the slightest bit as he continued running to the sound of his thoughts.
Desmond wasn’t entirely sure why Codie wanted to meet someplace so far away from any civilization and wondered at her reasons for choosing this miniature jungle as the place to do so. He enjoyed his evening outs with Codie but previously they consisted of places far less remote than this. Either way, he enjoyed the wildness of it all and regarded it as just a new setting for one of Codie’s sexy little games, a game to which he was completely up for playing. Noticing he was a good ways into the woods now he leapt up and caught a decent size tree branch, spinning around it into a kneeling position before extricating his senses to the sights and sounds of the woods that engirdled him, searching for any sign of Codie. A cool gust of a dying winter’s wind reached his nostrils and amidst a collage of other scents he recognized the hint of dog he knew so well. A smile immediately grew ear to ear across his face as he looked in the direction the wind had blown from. “Found you, love.”
Losing Codie seemed to be an impossible feat now that they had found themselves ensnared by the amorous nature of love. Desmond recognized a connection beginning to fabricate itself between he and Codie. Their thoughts seemed to be shared and their hearts seemed as though they were beating in unison to the same melody of love. He felt drawn to her like a compass needle eternally pointing to the north, a direction he was now heading towards eagerly to see his love. The sound of her voice singing a tune accompanied her scent in perfect harmony as he got closer to where ever she was. As he rounded a rather large tree the duo of sensory appeal became a trio as he was privileged with the sight of his perfect girlfriend leaping down from a tree branch, landing lightly upon the ground as she waited in anticipation for his arrival. Her back was to him and though he knew she probably had picked up his scent by now, Desmond was quite sure she didn’t know exactly where he was as of yet.
Before she had time to realize he was approaching he was already there, wrapping his arms around her slender waist and kissing her lightly on the neck. “Hello, Love.” He smiled radiantly at his Codie, falling back into the possessive feeling of love that consumed him as it always did when he looked upon her. “So is there a reason for the isolated choice of scenery?” Desmond nodded around to the massive trees that encircled them to clarify what he meant by scenery. Though it was a change of pace from their normal date locations he did enjoy the privacy of it all where he could truly be himself around Codie and not have to worry what others may be perceiving.

Codie could sense him moving closer toward her. He was quick. She wasn't overly caught by surprise as he wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and gently kissed her on the neck. Codie placed her hands upon his, feeling his cool skin beneath her own. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the sweet embrace they shared at that moment in time, Hello, Love she heard him say. His voice made her smile, oh how she had missed it, even if it had only been a day. " Hey Stranger... miss me?" She knew that he did, just as much as she missed him. Being away from him was uttermost misery to her, it was like being placed in a room with no oxygen and being expected to breathe.
At his question he had then asked, she turned to face him smiling playfully, " I need a reason to spend some quality time with my boyfriend in the middle of nowhere?" Codie raised an eyebrow at this before laughing a little this time answering properly, " well... a part from wanting to see you again, I've been thinking-" At this Codie took a seat up against the closest large tree surrounding them, the slight nerves that had been bugging her all day had returned, " -It's nothing bad!" she chimed in so Desmond didn't think all of a sudden that something was wrong, " I was just thinking today that we don't really know much about each others pasts. I kind of felt as though it's something we should share with each other...that is, if you want to"
Codie had already made up her mind that she was going to tell Desmond about her own, it was important to her for him to know about everything. She crossed her fingers secretly in her mind that he'd be alright with her past, she loved him dearly and didn't want the wolf side of her interfering with them. Codie sighed softly before she begun.. expecting Desmond's speech would probably be longer, " well, here's a few things that were probably missed in that copy of Codie Marshall's biography book you own, which by the way I'm free for signing" she grinned at him before going on, " to start with I was born just outside Cali. Lived there basically my whole life. I have two older brothers, Sean and Matt. They're a little more feisty when it comes to Vampires. Very protective of me to say the least... Matt's probably the worst. I grew up around animals, both my parents are Vets so it was bound to happen. I followed in their footsteps and I'm qualified now..."
Codie had been trying to put off the werewolf parts but sadly her life up until then wasn't quite as interesting, " Unfortunately though curiosity got the better of me. I heard a dog one night downstairs in our home clinic. The thing with werewolves is that like Vampires... you're not actually born one. You have to be bitten to become one... and I'm sure you can guess what happened next. Apparently it was one of my brothers'. Everyone felt pretty bad about it, I don't know why I mean.. it wasn't their fault. Sometimes I used to think it was because I broke the tradition. My family come from a long line of werewolves, it's some crazed tradition that the Father must turn their son on their 17th Birthday... guess no one was expecting dear little Codie to jump into the mix." Codie allowed herself to smile at Desmond for a moment, actually kind of wondering what he was thinking so far, " I was only young when it happened and my life beforehand is actually rather fuzzy. Afterwards though I basically had to fight to have a normal life, my brothers never approved of any guys and often chased them away. Daniel, my ex was generally afraid of them.. he never said anything but it's a little hard to hide from a girl who can pick up on fear before you can even blink. I don't really know what happened to him after my brothers' found out what he did" Codie knew her brothers' more than likely had something to do with it but she never said anything to them, in a way she was glad it wasn't her that got ahold of him.
" I hope I'm not rushing" she told him with a sigh and a bite to her bottom lip, " I'm sorry if I am.... is there anything you were kind of interested in knowing? maybe more about werewolves in general?" Codie wasn't too sure how much Desmond actually knew about werewolves, but she knew he probably had quite a few questions he was eager to ask her as she was to him.

She asked if he had missed her and he chuckled at the vacuous question. Every second of his eternal life now revolved around Codie and a single moment away from her brought a hankering to his heart. Now that they had been brought together no force on the entire planet could disunite them. A benevolent smile crossed his flawless features as he responded. “More than you know.” His answer was authenticated with another kiss to demonstrate the sincerity of his words. Desmond had missed her indeed, every little detail about her. He missed her highly contagious smile amongst a list of other divine traits she possessed and Desmond craved for another dose of that tantalizing smile, despite the fact that it had only been a night since he last saw it displayed upon her perfect face.
He grinned at her remark regarding the choice of their date location but he crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes playfully in anticipation for the underlying truth of why the isolated seclusion of the woods had been the choice for tonight’s little shenanigan. Despite the fact that even the middle of nowhere sounded appealing when Codie was involved, Desmond felt a genuine curiosity creep upon him. Some thought was weighing heavily on Codie’s mind and he had a rising premonition that here within the remote woods was the place where she had decided to unload some of them. That premonition was solidified as Codie mentioned there was something on her mind that she had been thinking about lately but she paused to sit against a large tree, which caused the suspension to escalate to a level of intolerability. Fingers crossed that this isn’t a repeat of our Borders Bookstore date, he thought to himself. The weeks she was away after that was hell for him and he prayed that the same scenario was not about to receive an encore. His thoughts must have projected themselves across his face because Codie quickly clarified that whatever was on her mind wasn’t bad which was a huge relief for him. Trepidation was now superseded by curiosity of what she wanted or needed to say.
The past. That was the ball and chain that her thoughts had been shackled to of late and only Desmond held the key. It was a good idea and bad idea at the same time. Good that his curiosity would have a good swig of information to quench his desire to know more about the woman he loved. It was a bad idea because his past held many moments he was not proud of. His eagerness to spelunk the caves of Codie’s past prevailed over his fear of what she may think of his own history. Besides, it only makes sense to know everything about the person you were madly in love with does it not? She seemed timid about bringing up the past and said that they would only reincarnate it if he wanted to. Desmond smiled lovingly to her at the way she treaded so delicately on the subject of their bygone days. “Of course I want to. Sharing is caring right?” He then took a seat beside Codie against the mammoth of a tree she had chosen to rest against and he got comfortable by placing an arm around her, pulling her close to him while doing so. Desmond chuckled at her joke about the Codie Marshall biography she volunteered to sign. Seriousness returned and she put on her game face as she seemed to be gathering her thoughts and choosing a place to begin her story. A faint sigh fled from her mouth signaling the opening of the closet door to her past that contained all the unpublished pages of her life……….as well as the skeletons that resided there.
The first half of her story ran in a direction quite parallel to a normal human life. She was born outside of Cali and had two very protective brothers. Her family had a fondness towards animals and it most likely influenced Codie’s studies to become a vet. It was a utopian life that seemed peaceful and carefree. Desmond did however chuckle at the fact that with all those dogs around she most likely smelt of mutt even before she had become a werewolf. As she mentioned her brothers’ dislike of vampires Desmond wondered how they had taken…….or would take…..the news that their little sister had fallen in love with one. “Taking me home to meet mom and dad is gonna be quite the interesting evening.” He laughed at the image of Codie’s family and he gathered around a table for dinner, everyone but him eating out of a dog bowl…..complete with their names painted in blocky white lettering along the sides of each one.
The second half of her story however, took a turn down supernatural road as she revealed how she had become a werewolf. He nodded in understanding about having to be bitten to become what they were but his eyebrow arched when she mentioned it was her brother who had changed her. It was odd to him that the father would bite change his own son when they reached a certain age. Desmond grinned at the disappointment the kids must’ve felt as they expected a brand new car or shiny bike and in return they got a nasty bite and fur instead. The dialogue played in his head as to how he imagined it playing out. Happy birthday son, you’re a werewolf now, you’ll be growing fur in some uncomfortable places but no worries, you get use to the itchiness of it all. Des could already tell by the way Codie spoke of her brothers that he was going to have a hell of a time with them if and when they ever met him. They sounded like quite the intimidating little duo but Des had his encounters with big bad wolves before and just like the fairytale went, they were just full of hot air and could only blow down the houses of stick and straw………Desmond, however, was one little piggy who invested in brick houses. He did find comfort and humor in knowing that this time Codie’s boyfriend was a vampire and Desmond would not scare as easily as her previous, more fragile boyfriends. He gave Codie a gentle squeeze to reassure her that he wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon. “Well you can let your brother’s know that I don’t scare too easily. I am after all one of the most feared species in horror movies.” The crooked sarcastic grin appeared on his face stretching so wide it made the Cheshire cat look like it was merely smirking.
She concluded by apologizing for rushing and asking if he had any questions to ask. He had a few questions about how the whole werewolf thing worked but it was all just for his own personal curiosity and whatever the answers were could not ever change how he felt towards her. “No worries, you’re not rushing at all. As far as the questions go I suppose separating fact from folk lore on the whole werewolf thing would be helpful. I know the legends get twisted. For example, do wolves really dislike the whole silver thing? Cause I don’t want you melting or something if I buy you a silver necklace or some other form of jewelry.” Desmond laughed at his own joke as he always seemed to do. Another question crossed his mind about how she looked when she changed into her wolf form but he kept that one to himself, assuming that it would eventually come up later. He secretly wondered if she was as beautiful when she was a wolf as she was now. Perhaps one day he’d catch a glimpse of her while she was rocking the fur and find out for himself.
Now that Codie’s story had concluded Desmond felt the attention turn to him for his own past to be shared. He sat up a bit from the slouched position he was in and tried to figure out where to begin his story which was significantly longer than Codie’s. “Well, my story is a bit longer. I was born in York, England, not too far from here. My mother died when I was real young and my father followed not too long afterwards. I eventually found my way here to London and worked some odd jobs so I could afford food and shelter. I met a nice gal who needed an escort to Paris so I gladly accepted, full of eagerness to see new places. Her and I became very close friends but she was captured by a band of marauders and I haven’t seen her since. I then bribed my way onto a ship headed for Paris and the poor food quality brought sickness upon me and I was bedridden for weeks. “ Desmond paused and looked at Codie, more for dramatic effect than anything. The next part was where his life became a lot more complicated. “When we were within a few short hours of arriving in France a monstrous storm struck and the ship was capsized. My neck had been broken in the event and I was sure I was dead. The last thing I remember was a dark figure approaching me before feeling a sharp pinch on my neck followed by the god awful burning sensation that seemed to last an eternity. I awoke on the shores of France confused and thirsty…….not for water but rather blood.”
Desmond paused a moment to judge Codie’s reaction thus far and to contemplate if he should add the most haunting event of that same night that he had arrived in France. Gritting his teeth he decided telling the truth meant the whole truth and attached his most ashamed moment to his tale. “That night I murdered an entire family. I lost myself to this new found thirst and I feared it. The power it had over me to make even the most pacifist of a man a monster.” His eyes studied Codie’s face for any sign of disappointment, resentment, disgust, and even hate for what he had done. He wouldn’t be surprised if she did hate him after that, even he hated himself for it. The story began again as Desmond was eager to continue it away from this moment in his history . “I was repulsed by my actions and fled deep into the mountains of rural France and lived for years alone. I learned to feed off of animal blood instead and sought to control the frenzy the thirst brought upon me. I finally returned back to the civilized world and that’s when I ran into Ali. She was a cute little girl who had asked me for help as an unruly band of boys sought to hurt her. I spent quite some time looking after her. Both of her parents had been murdered, by a vampire I recently found out, and she had no one to look after her. I left her one night though out of fear that I may hurt her just as I did to the family so many years before. As it turns out, I made the wrong choice. She endured a hard life and would later become a vampire like I. That’s when I headed for Seattle to pick back up the search for my long lost friend Aurianna and instead found the love of my life...........you.”
Desmond exhaled softly as his tale had come to a conclusion. He comprised it mostly of facts and left out the emotional parts along with details for the sake of time. The anticipation for Codie’s reaction was plaguing him at the moment and he wondered if she still thought of him the same way after all that. Just as all speeches ended with a question and answer, Desmond added a P.S. to his story. “Any questions?”

Desmond sat down next to her, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her closer to him. She allowed herself to lay against his perfect body. Her head rested casually on his shoulder for a moment while she traced his well formed abs through his shirt with her finger tips. He really was perfect in every way, and she found herself falling more and more in love with him with each day passing. It always brought a smile to Codie's lips when she remembered the first time she saw him, he was standing in the back of the Town Hall, she had caught his scent and turned momentarily to see where it had come from... and that's where her eyes first met Desmond's. Codie will never forget it, just as she will never forget the following day when the two of them officially met randomly along the water... she was still a little embarrassed by her choice in clothing that day as during her morning run she was never fit to impress. But then again something must've sparked in her for Desmond to want to see her again.
During Codie's life speech Desmond had made her feel more comfortable with his usual joke here and there. "Taking me home to meet mom and dad is gonna be quite the interesting evening" Codie smiled at the thought although it made her nervous, " It's mostly the men in the family who are the uptight ones... mom, I don't know how she'd feel. She always told me to follow my heart and that's exactly what I'm doing" When Desmond told Codie to pass a message onto her brothers, she laughed at his response that he was one of the most feared species in horror films, although she was really thinking how lucky she was to have found Desmond. He truly cared for her and she could easily tell that her brothers were going to have a hard time trying to get him to leave their sister alone.
It was then that Codie asked Desmond if he had any questions. A smile formed on her face yet again at what he said next, "No worries, you’re not rushing at all. As far as the questions go I suppose separating fact from folk lore on the whole werewolf thing would be helpful. I know the legends get twisted. For example, do wolves really dislike the whole silver thing? Cause I don’t want you melting or something if I buy you a silver necklace or some other form of jewelry". Codie pretended to think about it for a moment, " No it's not true... if it were kill me now because I think I can safely say any female would feel the same way. I won't say that I won't melt though if you bought me jewelry" she gave him a wink to let him know she was merely kidding before continuing, " silver bullets is just a myth. Unfortunately bullets don't have to be silver to kill a werewolf. It's difficult to kill one but not impossible. The moon thing though, that's all true. I have no control when the moon is full".
It was then Desmond's turn to tell her his life story, something she had been thinking about all day. She listened carefully as he spoke, deciding to wait until he was finished before she'd speak. Codie listened as Desmond told her he was born not too far from where they were, he'd lost both his parents far too soon and she begun to feel sorry for him as he spoke about having to work odd jobs to survive, he'd even lost a close friend. When he mentioned about being bed ridden on a ship Codie knew her face spoke a million words, it sounded as though Desmond didn't exactly have much luck in his human life. It was then that he shared with her how he had become the Vampire he is today. Codie didn't show it back she felt slight anger toward the dark figure for doing what it did to Desmond, but at the same time she knew if it never happened... she wouldn't be as happy as she was right now. Sitting against a tree in the middle of the woods with the man of her dreams.
Codie listened as Desmond then spoke about his first killing... a whole family. She pictured what it must've been like for the family, it upset her that he had did that... but what upset her more was when Desmond referred to himself as a monster. Codie had to stop him there " You're not a monster Des, you just didn't know how to control it back then... I used to hunt Vampires that killed humans and trust me when I say you're not like them... you have remorse for what you did." Codie gently gave him a kiss on the cheek before resting her forehead against his own as she spoke, " please don't expect me to hate you for what you did. You will only find yourself disappointed" She knew exactly what it was like to lose control, it happened to her whenever a full moon lit up the nights sky and there was no way Codie could ever hate Desmond for his past actions, " you are too important to me".
Desmond had continued his story, this time talking about how he had learned to feed from animals and meeting a young Vampire named Ari who, while she was human, Desmond had taken under his wing and looked after. Then he spoke about coming to Seattle in search of his old friend only to have met her, Codie, the love of his life. She smiled as he told her this, she was glad that she had put a little light back into his life. When he asked her if she had any questions, she nodded softly, " a few" she replied as she tried to pick one out of the bundle she had stored in her head, " I mean not that it really matters because no matter what you say I promise I won't run away screaming but... how old are you really?".

Desmond beamed as Codie said she was following her heart and he was pleased to know it had led her to him. From what Codie had said, Desmond just might have a bit more leeway with mama dog but not so much with the rest of the family. Desmond shook his head slightly as he laughed internally at a thought. Where’s the damn Dog Whisperer when you need him? There was only one werewolf Des enjoyed being around and she was laying on him right now. It didn’t bother him if the rest of the mutts liked him or not but he intended on making an effort of being civil with them for Codie’s sake. How hard could it be? Who could hate this face? He snorted as he remembered the many people, vamps, and werewolves alike he had pissed off within the first few minutes of meeting. Who am I kidding? I already don’t like the sound of them and they sure as hell are not gonna be thrilled about meeting me. He shrugged and stopped wasting brain energy on the flea infested wolf brothers and turned his attention back to his Codie.
Desmond listened intently as she answered his question about silver and was glad to hear that silver jewelry would be a suitable largesse for her. He laughed as she made no promises that she wouldn’t melt over his silver clad gifts. “Well that’s usually the desired outcome for me doting on you. It’s good to know silver is on the o.k. list.” As she continued sorting myth from fact he was surprised to hear that werewolves were easier to kill than he had previously believed. Bullets could kill them regardless of what kind of bullet was used as well as numerous other ways of bringing a werewolf to death. Immediately Desmond felt more protective over Codie with this new knowledge of her life being ever so slightly more fragile. Instinctively he held her closer to him at the thought. “I think anyone will find you’re going to be a lot harder to kill than other wolves. Because they’ll have to go through me first.” He smiled at her as he said so and then waited as she continued on with the werewolf facts. Desmond steered towards humor as Codie mentioned her loss of control when the moon was full as he raised an eyebrow. “That’s kinda kinky. I just may have to lose control with you once upon a full moon or two.” He winked playfully at her.
Desmond kept tabs on Codie’s reaction to his story as he told it and only sensed sorrow and sympathy from her in regards to the first part of his story. She interrupted him however as he spoke of killing a family and what a monster he was for doing so. She insisted he wasn’t a monster and he was comforted as she went on to say she didn’t hate him for it. He smiled lovingly at her and replied with two single words before continuing. “Thank You.”
It was her turn to ask a question and she said there were a few she had in mind, the first of which being how old he really was. Desmond smiled at the question hoping she didn’t mind dating someone who was probably older than her grandpa. “I’m 71 as of February 17th. I was born in 1939.” He laughed before continuing. “So? Am I looking good for my age?”

When Codie had told Desmond how easy it was to kill a werewolf, she felt him pull her closer to him in an effort to let her know he'd keep her safe. A smile formed on her face as he told her that she'd be a lot more difficult to kill as they'd have to go through him first. " My Knight in shining armor" she replied giving him a loving embrace as she did so. Truth is that it had worried her that she could quite easily be killed, especially while up against a Vampire. Deep down Codie had always been afraid of dying, but she knew in her heart if it ever came down to it, she'd die for Desmond without a second moments thought. To live without the man she loved frightened her more so than death itself, and she knew spending the rest of her life without him by her side would only torture her.
Codie laughed when Desmond told her that her losing control sounded rather kinky and he'd have to lose control with her during the next full moon, " Who needs a moon?" she asked with wink and a grin. Leaving poor ol' Dessie with more than likely the thought of whether she was merely kidding or not. Codie enjoyed leaving Desmond on edge with a mind game or two. Truth be told... she wasn't kidding.
It was then that Desmond told her how old he really was. It didn't faze her. She knew it'd be up there somewhere. Codie smiled as he asked her if he looked good for his age, " sure do Grand-dad. You're the sexiest one I know" she laughed a little before continuing, " but honestly, if I look as good as you when I reach 71 without having to use night creams and plastic surgeons I'll be happy". Codie nudged him a little to let him know she was mucking around, she loved him dearly and at times often wondered what it would be like to live forever like Desmond... Would you get lonely? The thought then ran through her head that one day... she really will be old, and not the attractive type like her gorgeous 71 year old boyfriend sitting next to her.
Codie brushed the thought out of her head as she watched Desmond for a moment before a smile formed on her face again as it so often did when her eyes fell upon him... quite a few things were going through her head at that particular time. It amused her slightly now having gotten over the fact that she was meant to hate him... her feelings for him were far from it. She tried to think of the other questions she was looking at asking him earlier, but none of them really mattered... what mattered was that she was here with him now. In his arms. In the middle of nowhere. " So... how fast are you Dessie?" she asked him curiously with a cheeky grin, rather eager to play a little game with Desmond. Codie stood up, keeping her eyes on him with the same grin still plastered on her face, clearly up to something. She circled the tree before coming back around to face him again, " Do you think you could outrun me?".

When Codie made her comment about the moon Desmond chuckled playfully before raising a questioning eyebrow. Was she being serious? Desmond took a few moments trying to answer that question before deciding on his next move. Only Codie knew how to play with him and he loved that about her. She knew how to pull his chain and play his game. He slid behind her supernaturally fast and let his hands softly explore her body as he gently kissed her neck from where it met the shoulder up to her ear before whispering in it. “You’re right, I don’t need a moon to love you Codie Marshall.” He smoothly spun her around till they were face to face before locking lips in a romantic embrace.
As Codie responded to Desmond’s answer to her question he made a funny face at the nickname Grand-dad but smiled at the fact that he was at least the sexiest old man Codie knew. Desmond let his chest swell along with his ego at the comment as the cheschire cat grin plastered itself to his face. Codie continued to say she would be happy if she could look as good as he did when she was in her 70’s. He smiled at her lovingly not wanting to think about her aging and the future. Thankfully Codie changed the subject to a topic he was quite fond of, speed.
She had asked how fast he was and he snorted at the vacuous nature of the question. “I can run as many miles per hour as I am old. About 70 miles per hour give or take.” Desmond couldn’t help but admire the beautiful woman he was dating as she rounded the tree and asked if he thought he could outrun her. He smiled at her playful little challenge as he stood up and gave his legs a good little stretch as well as popped his neck. “Well looks like we’re about to find out.” Desmond waited for her to make the first move and then they were off, weaving in and out of the trees, leaping over fallen logs, and swinging on vines as they raced along. They ran side by side at a fairly moderate pace but then Codie veered to the left and Des lost sight of her.
Desmond picked up his speed seeing this as an opportunity to pull ahead but then he heard a sound from the bushes to his right that had to of been Codie because he recognized her scent. Her pace was different now though, almost as if she was running on all fours rather than upright on two. She was moving FAST, much faster than he could keep up with and she easily outran him by 20mph or so. After she made it quite clear who the faster species was she disappeared again into the dense foliage and left Desmond running alone as he waited for her to emerge once again from wherever she was. As he rounded a particularly large tree he was tackled by his beautiful girlfriend who was now once again in human form. He didn’t catch a glimpse of her while running but he sensed the power and size of her wolf form from what he had heard. He smiled at his girlfriend as he lay in a pile of leaves and branches with her atop of him. That’s when he realized that she wasn’t wearing any clothes. “Well this is interesting. The loser gets the trophy?”
The word count is 615 and Des is wearing this and oh yea, I have permission to godmod.

Her playful nature returned a pleasant response from Desmond as he slid behind her more quickly than humanly possible. She felt his hands softly touch her body as he gently kissed her neck. She heard him whisper softly in her ear that he didn't need a moon to love her, Codie smiled warmly. She'd forgotten many times that Desmond was a Vampire, despite the scent that drifted off of him. What they had was so real to her, she didn't care about what the future held... it was now that mattered. As he spun her around, Codie looked deeply into his eyes before the two of them shared a deep and passionate kiss.
Codie listened intrigued as Desmond told her how fast he really was as she rounded the tree. She watched him stand up, obviously preparing for her idea of 'fun'. As he said it looks like they were about to find out, Codie moved up close to him so her face was merely a few inches away from his playfully. She waited a few moments before taking off into the forest, Desmond keeping up right next to her. She knew he was holding back on his speed, whether it be that he was playing along with her too... or that he wasn't sure how fast she could really go. Codie glanced over at Desmond giving him a wink before heading off in a different direction... although not too far away that she couldn't hear him.
Codie took this opportunity to change. She turned into her wolf form and suddenly her pace begun to get quicker, her hearing became better as she ran ahead of Desmond making the bushes rustle so he knew exactly where she was... and that she was in front of him. When she felt she was far enough in front of him she hid behind a tree. Codie could hear the leaves and twigs beneath his feet as he ran... as soon as she felt he was close enough she transformed back into her human form, jumping out from her hiding place as she tackled him to the ground.
She grinned as she sat on top of him, although she wasn't exactly boasting that she had indeed won the challenge. She was too focused on Desmond. “Well this is interesting. The loser gets the trophy?” Codie hadn't noticed that she was now missing her clothing, it all felt so right to her that she had forgotten that whenever she changed into a wolf that she would change back naked. Oddly for her she wasn't embarrassed. Instead she smiled lovingly at him, Codie grabbed a hold of his shirt pulling him up so he was now face to face with her, " I love you Desmond" she told him softly before planting her lips against his passionately, getting lost in the moment. Not caring what went on around her, just enjoying the fact that she was sharing an intimate moment with the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with.

Codie answered his sarcastic question by pulling him up by his shirt and laying a wet one on him as she expressed her love for him. As their lips parted momentarily he spoke. “Naked girlfriend, a kiss, AND an I love you. I think I should lose more often.” He smiled warmly at her before giving her another kiss. Her body was like a heater against his cold body and warmed him to the core. He enjoyed the alone time with his girlfriend but the sun would be rising VERY soon and they were still a bit of a ways from home. He sat up despite Codie still clinging to him as brushed a stray hair behind her ear. A sigh came from his lips at the sun once again ruining a romantic moment for him. “Sorry love, the damn sun again.” With an unforgiving nod to the east he showed his disappointment for having to end the intimate moment they were sharing. The sun always had the worst timing for choosing when to rise.
Desmond stood up carrying his unclothed girl friend in his arms as he did so. He wasn’t going to let the sun win THAT easily, just because it would be light out soon didn’t mean this moment had to end. “What do you say we continue this back at your place? I hear you have a cage………that could be interesting.” He grinned naughtily at her as he began to head in the direction of the city, not even waiting for a reply.
He felt closer to Codie after today. They had shared their deepest most secrets with each other and now they truly knew about who the other was. The walls of their secret lives had been demolished and their relationship already felt stronger. Her nudity almost symbolized the shedding away of secrets and a revealing of her truest form. Today was a day of revealing secrets. Today was a day of revealing who Des and Codie really are. Tonight, however, would be a night of intimacy.
The word count is 363 and Des is wearing this and oh yea, I sorry it's so short.
