Transformation Thread {Human-Vampire}
The Sun rose like wildfire and made Alecto's room brighter than ever, making her automatically wake up and squint up at the lighted-up ceiling. It was April the Fifth. April the Fifth. Alecto ran the three words in her mind, trying to remember why they were imprinted there...Oh, Shit.
She sprang out of bed and checked the clock. Oh, Damn. It was Six fifty-three. She suppressed a yelp and ran ransacking the house for her clothes that she had especially planned out...where had she put them? She ran to the bathroom and started frantically styling her hair and brushing her teeth. She pulled on the skirt, top, and threw her papers into her bag.
April the Fifth, how could she have forgotten to set her alarm...April the Fifth was when her company was going to open a new location, she was going to make a speech and had to be there extra early...she was halfway out the door with a piece of toast in her free hannd when she realized she'd forgotten her keys- "Jeff, they're on the kitchen table, go fast and get them, oh, please!" Her butler made his way with surprising speed to the kitchen and came back with her keys. She thanked him and ran frantically across the front lawn to the taxi driver, who was clicking his tongue unpatiently.
"Sorry, sorry, I'm so sorry!" She told him, as he slid into his seat at the front. "Thanks for opening the door!" She remarked, and swore loudly; it was 7:02. She jumped into the seat as the taxi started to move. She almost sighed ~ the drive only took about fifteen or twenty minutes, and--Twenty Minutes?!
It was 7:08 when they reached an unpleasant traffic jam. The taxi driver leaned back and chewed his gum. She snapped inpatiently. "I need to be there NOW!" She shrieked, making him straighten up. "Can't you just, like, run over these people or something?" She fumed. The driver looked like he was supressing a snort with great difficulty. She let out a sound of anger and threw the taxi door open, running on to the street.
It was only a block or two, what did it matter? She ran as fast as she could in her huge heels (and that was pretty slow), and then stopped when she felt blisters forming. She leaned over and heaved huge breaths. She would give anything to never be tired again.

Alecto stumbled out of her office at almost 1 in the morning, when the streets were dark and murky from the rain during yesterday. She clutched her bag for dear life even thought there was next to nothing in it: she had brought everything to the showing room, then later to the meeting. She flipped open her phone and started dialing to the cab company when she remembered something ~ she had forgotten her sweater inside and she was freezing. She trudged back to the glass doors of the building and tried pulling them open, but they wouldn't budge.
Of course! they were locked and she had left the keys inside. She let out a noise of distaste and turned around, then paced up and down the pavement. How was she ever going to get inside? She was so, so tired, she needed to sleep! She flipped open her phone again, calling the cab company. "Hello," A tired voice answered the call. "Hi, I need a cab to 175th on Morris?" She answered, impatiently. "I'm sorry, you'll have to wait a while," The tired voice said, monotony. "All of our cabs are out."
"OUT?" Alecto screamed into the phone. "All the effing cabs are OUT, you tell me? At effing 1 in the morning?" The tired voice seemed to get more distinct after her freak-out.
"I'm sorry, miss," It told her. "But you'll have to wait."
She hung up and decided to walk. It wasn't far, really, just about twenty minutes driving was... an hour maybe?! Really, if she walked fast, she decided, she could get their sooner. It was just about 15 blocks. 10 blocks, maybe. She could scale that in a few minutes! Who needed cabs? She adjusted her bag and started to walk up the dimly lit, puddle filled street. It was really dark and empty, and she wasn't surprised. Only hard-working, company-owning, freaking out at cab-company sort of people would be out right now.
What other sort of human would be out so late?
