[atrb=width,375,true][atrb=border,0,false][cs=0][bg=000000] On a night like this it would be a shame to be so wasteful with the hours. The moon was full and high, which wasn't unusual at this juncture in the European season. Italy had made Sevanni become a much more peaceful man, of course there had been that moment where Hyde had to take his pitiful fall, and the slow torturous night with Shaden where he had behaved like a gentleman. That in it's self had been hard, but as always, he had made more time for everyone.
Tonight was no different. Sevanni had opted to take his post within the house and spend some time just out in the open. Who gave a shit about what he did anyway? He was no longer a coven leader. That job was better left to someone who had much time to learn the trade of leadership. There was no need for him to go out hunting down weremutts when he could simply enjoy himself in the delicacy of mortal blood.
Ahhh, mortals. One thing he truly loved. Mortals and their blood. As if it had been pure fire to even intake such a thing. Still, even at the thought of a mortal he was saddened by thinking about Annabella, her death was something that he had not wanted, but when he had put two and two together, mixing in his brother Ezra, there was no choice but to have her put out of her misery.
If James hadn't been so damn scared of Sevanni, or even so vengeful, maybe Sevanni would have kept his precious mortal and James wouldn't have turned her into something she had been pretty much foreseen to be. Another loathesome weremutt. In the end, he knew it was her destiny, just like it had been the destiny of her ancestors to be just that. Sevanni had hoped it would break the line.
Nixie, who he had now been calling Phoenix, had gained a bit more respect from him after the whole Alaska ordeal. All of those who turned had vanished and made way to Alaska. Aubrey, whom he was sure, had been dubbed the Ice Queen, not because of Alaska, but because they had somehow managed to freeze over her heart far greater than he had expected.
Darien had been off spending time with Adrian, which was a good thing in Sevanni's eyes, but Darien knew that what Sevanni gave, Sevanni could and would, also take. In a way, Sevanni was like God.
The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away.
But for now he didn't much mind it. Darien was happy, or so he assumed, and for that, Sevanni had been grateful to run into Adrian. At least she wasn't a prostitute, and even if they had ended up sleeping together, that was their call, Sevanni didn't pay her for those sorts of services.
Tonight he sat out in the garden. It had been restored to when it had been the days where he and his sisters were out each morning tending to it. Beautiful flowers of a wide variety, and of course the grass had been lustified with passionate greens. For Imogine it had been fresh fruits and vegetables.
The air was still, only a soft breeze picked up here and there to where it was quite comfortable. Time had permitted him to lay about and relax, however, usually things didn't turn out as such.
Here in Italy it had been a lot more calmer considering the security around the house and the lack of enemies that roamed about the Tuscanni land. Perhaps this would have been the right time to tend to the twins and get them to come to an understanding. After all, they had been new to his abode, and while they weren't always home, there was still a sense about them that made Sevanni want them to feel at home.
Awell, to each their own. Maybe it was time to jump back in the saddle and become the big bad Vanni, but after many lifetimes of being an overworked tyrant, it was just time to settle down. But that didn't mean he was going to turn into some soft teddy bear. oh no. It just meant he needed time, much like when he met Ella, to simply settle down for a short while. There was always time to get back in the game and make it more interesting.

[atrb=width,451,true][atrb=border,0,false][cs=0][bg=000000] Italy...She was in Italy. It wasnt exactly her choice, but she was here regardless and she would need to deal with it. She had practically grown up in New York. Made a life for herself there. But because of one vampire that she had picked to mess with, all those things she loved back in New York were scattered to the wind. Said vampire, Sevanni Black, had taken a liking to her. Or maybe it was an unliking? Either way, he had dragged her along to Italy with all of his other pets. For thats what she was. She couldnt deny that now. She was a pet. A plaything for him that he could amuse himself with. It didnt do well with her temper that she normally had in check. Sure, at any time, she could piss him off and he could kill her. Or maybe she would cease to be amusing and he would just off her for that alone. You never knew with Sevanni.
In the big house that he owned, she kept her distance from everyone. She didnt want to get to know any of them. In a way, she was terrified of them all. Some of those pets were human like herself and others were vampires. One vampire in particular was a bloody thirsty bitch who seemed to love torture. She especially kept her distance from her. In a house full of vampires, it wasnt safe to be human. She was alive for now...But how much longer could she really count on that? Would she come home bleeding one day from work and it happened to be the wrong day for her to be bleeding? Would she be food one day? It was one of her biggest fears she had to admit. But she also would regret not finding out what happened to her parents. Sevanni was holding that secret close at hand, the son of a bitch. He knew she wanted to know and that she would do almost anything to find out.
Grumbling softly to herself, she unloaded her gun and snapped in place a fresh round of bullets. Tonight was one of her first nights actually working for the Italian police force. It had taken her forever to get them to trust her to be alone. But she had trained for this and she wasnt about to let the one thing that kept her happy be taken away. Sevanni didnt seem to mind much that she kept working and even if he did mind, she would do it anyway. He could take away her home and her safety...but he couldnt take away her job. Not in this lifetime. He could pry the gun from her hands, but she would just get a new one. With a gun in her hands, she always felt safer, more complete. Maybe she was a tad bit violent deep down in her core, and she wanted to shoot people, but it wasnt exactly her fault. And shooting first, asking questions later normally kept her alive.
Looking up to the sky, she sighed and shook her head. The moon was full and she knew what that meant. Everything that went bump in the night would be out tonight. Frolicking and making trouble for the city. But if she could help it, she would hunt some of them down. Poor humans on the force didnt know what they were up against on the full moon nights. She had seen in records that on full moons was the time they lost most of their men. All the other nights were just fine. At least they had somewhat caught on and only sent out their best men. The fact that they trusted her out tonight, was an honor. Finally she could fit in. Tucking her gun into her holster that was strapped to her thigh, in easy grabbing distance, she walked down the street and just kept on alert. Something would trigger her attention eventually. She knew it.
And sure enough, right as she turned the corner, she heard a scream coming from the alley way just a block down. Snatching out her gun, she ran as quickly as her legs could take her and turned into the alley. "Oh hell." She muttered and stood there frozen for a moment. The woman was on her knees, cowering in the corner, while a large wolf stood in front of her. Myths about werewolves were oh so wrong. They werent allergic to silver, and they didnt look like movie monsters. If you didnt know any better, you could say a werewolf was like a regular wolf and pass right by them. And the only way they stood out during the day was that natural instinct you had to stay away from certain people. That they were dangerous and you could get hurt. Everything in her body was screaming at her that this wasnt a wolf. That this was something mad, bad, and supernatural.
"Get down!!" She screamed at the woman and then fired a warning shot above the wolfs head. She couldnt take a chance of shooting at it now. Not when the woman was there. The wolf snarled and turned to look at her and those eyes, looking so human and yet so feral, confirmed she was dealing with a werewolf. "Come on puppy. Come and play with me." She taunted, showing that she wasnt afraid, even though her heart was beating frantically. It wasnt from fright though. If she was to be honest, it was from excitement. It was her against the wolf. Just the two of them in their own fucked up world. The wolf snarled once more, baring teeth, saliva dripping down its mouth. With its ears lowered, it moved its front paws and Kira knew, right that moment was when she should run and when the chase would begin.
A smirk reflected across her pretty features and she took off running, gun still in hand. Without even looking back she could hear the wolfs pursuit and how it was gaining on her. Now matter how much training you got...You could never outrun a werewolf. It was fact. She knew she was going to get caught, she knew she was going to get ripped up, and she knew the wolf didnt stand a chance. Skidding around a corner, she took the turn a little wide and next thing she knew, she was being slammed into a wall with 200 pounds of fur on top of her. The wolf bit into her shoulder, wasting no time and she yelped out in pain, feeling his teeth rip into her flesh. With a grunt, she used as much of her weight as she could and pushed them both to the ground. The small whimper from impact that came from the wolf, encouraged her on and she made sure to try and stay on top.
Her gun had been kicked out of her hand between the wall and the ground, and with a start she realized it was just out of reach. "Shit...shit..shit.." She muttered and pushed at the wolfs face to keep the wolfs teeth from getting to her throat. But when she wasnt paying attention the wolf used its hind leg to slash at her stomach. There was a ripping sound from her shirt and then searing hot pain flashed through her body. With a gasp, she looked down to see the wolf had cut her stomach. Not bad enough to kill, but it sure did hurt like hell. Growling back at the wolf, she took a chance and threw herself off of him, crawling over to her gun. She only had second before the wolf would be back on her. Her hand clasped onto the gun and she swivled around to where she was on her back, pointing the gun into the air at the wolf that had jumped at her.
The gun shot rang out, and she had perfect and deadly aim. The sound seemed to echo through the streets and the wolf yelped, before collapsing on top of her. She had been seconds away from being dog chow. Laying back, she looked up at the sky and then a laugh bubbled up and she couldnt stop it. "What a rush." She muttered and then after a few moments, she wiggled out from under the wolf. Standing up, she looked down at him and sighed. "Rest in peace mutt." As those words left her lips, she turned and started to head back towards Sevanni's house. She could find some medical stuff there perhaps and fix herself up. She didnt know the full extent of her damage, but just going by feeling, she knew she would have a large bruise down her ribs on the right side, possibly a broken one, her lower lip was busted, her stomach was slashed and she had various cuts on her arms. Yep, nothing like a good nights work.
It didnt take her long to reach the house and she just glared at the vampire guards who let her in. They eyed her wearily and she kept her gun in hand until she reached the hallway. Sure a gun wouldnt kill a vampire, but it would hurt like hell. Once inside the hall, she tucked the gun back into the thigh holster and looked around for someone who could tell her where Sevanni was. She ended up running into one of the other vampires and sadly, had to ask them. When she was told of his location she headed off in that direction without even saying thank you. They were never polite to her, so why be polite to them? The garden was a beautiful sight. During the daylight hours she liked to sit in a chair and just breathe it in. She had to admit, everything was beautiful here. More fresh...in a way.
"Sevanni?" She asked hesitantly when she spotted him and walked over. "Do you have any medical equipment that I can use to clean myself up?" Might as well get out with it, and not beat around the bush. She did let her gaze flicker around the garden though. It was more beautiful at night. And she knew that some things had been added for Imogen, the little girl. A garden was a little childs perfect play place. Looking back to him, she had no doubt she looked horrible. Her shirt was ripped and bloody from the wolf, and her arms would have shallow bleeding cuts. She had felt some blood on her chin from the busted lip and her hair would be fussed up. She was far from good looking at the moment. But she had the guts to actually face him and ask him for something she needed.

[atrb=width,375,true][atrb=border,0,false][cs=0][bg=000000] Quiet. That's what the night sounded like. Nothingness in the open wanderings of the property. Off in the distance they had an area being set up for the girls arrival. Abel had his playhouse off near the brook, whilst the underground belonged to those who wished to have some dirty fun. Which of course consisted of gutting their meal or simply to avoid spilling blood on the floors upstairs.
Occasionally Sevanni glanced up to see that Shaden's light was still off and not a flicker of his presence had been around. He imagined him off in the country chasing game with his female pick of the litter. As much as he hated to admit it, he did hate that his mortal had insisted on working with the mortal police field.
Where she stayed and who she knew usually meant everything in a small town. She would be safe except from the criminals who knew too little. A hand laid on his mortal meant death to those who drew the finger. You just didn't fuck with him.
While thoughts of her emerged into his mind, he couldn't help but look up into the star filled sky, wishing a shooting star would fly by. Not that he believed in them and their faulty accusations of delivering wishes, but simply because they were beautiful. Especially when the new Blue Moon would soon arrive in just a few short days and everyone of his creations would run a muck throughout the world.
"Sevanni?" Her voice woke him out of his thoughts. She was there on the grounds and not out in the street looking for danger. As much as he had desired to turn her, he didn't see it right to rip her life away from her. He would want it to be right. When she was ready. Which was usually abnormal for Sevanni and his fill of wants and needs, but it was the way he felt toward her.
His head turned, followed by the turn and plant of his body. What in the hell had happened to her? Confusion wove over his face, looking her over before taking steps toward her.
"Do you have any medical equipment that I can use to clean myself up?" He licked his lips, the smell of blood arousing his senses, filling nostrils with the sweet liquid he remembered on his tongue. Her blood had placed Sevanni in a state of bliss and euphoric amazement. To smell it and see it now, well, it was a doormat that said welcome home.
"What the hell happened to you?" He asked before fingers traced her flesh, making sure as not to touch her skin or the blood. Aching to let the crimson fluid seep into the micro pores of his skin.
A low hum released from his vocal chords, making motions for his phone. He would call Cree to bring him what he needed. If she would have simply took from him there would be no need for scarring on her sweet flesh. He insisted of course after a few scrapes with her job, and over and over again she replied with a no.
"I want to know who did this to you." He wouldn't budge. She would probably protest, but she had been bitten, that was evident, and it simply pissed him off to know some weremutt had bitten his candy.
Moments later Cree had come fallen out from the house with his bag. The great Doctor Black back at his handy dandy time once more. Thank Satan for medical school. A hand moved into the bag after opening it, pulling out some gauze, saline, and some stitching supplies.
"If you would stop being so stubborn, and let me help you....this is one of......one of their bites. Who knows what will happen to you if you don't turn." Oh fuck! If his advisor were there he would know for sure, but he had never wondered about it simply because there was no need to ever worry about it. He should have after Ezra had turned into one of those mutts, but he was so sick with guilt and regret that he just didn't bother.
