"The moonlight shows us what we really are, don't you, magificient being in the sky?" Julian said as he walked with a soft smile as he gazed upward at the pale full moon, shrouded by the clouds surrounding it all. Sighing, Julian had become adjusted to this -- a wandering life, but even though he would soon have Mindy, there was a longing to be happier than what he already was. Maybe it was because he didn't really have someone to relate to, someone to keep him satisified, to let him know although he was older, they knew that he was needed in this world. Pausing a brief moment, Julian looked up to the skies and sighed.
"Send me someone. I adore Mindy, but I implore this: She will be my young child, but I would like someone to keep me happy. I must be a beggar's fool to be asking such things, but it's not too much to ask, is it?" he said with a grin and then began to walk once more as he wished to have another outfit on aside from the late 1800's police outfit. It was intimidating, yes, but it described his empty self lately -- however, there was one that made him truly happy, but would she ever see it that way? "C'est vous, la demoiselle juste qui a volé mon coeur, Layla..." he said inside his head as he continued to walk.

ooc: Just for me? Darling you shouldn't have!
Layla was wandering. It was something that she found herself doing more and more as of late. She didn't know exactly why. Maybe it was just that she was finally getting old in her mind. Before she had never been old. But now, with all the young vampires that see had been meeting and interacting with, she was starting to feel the pull of her years. It was really the first time that she had felt this way. It was sad, she did not even have any of her own 'children' to spend time with. The ones that she had turned had all burned along with Luciano. Since that time in her life she had refused to turn another and have to train them. It was something that she had done with Luciano and only him.
She was now starting to rethink that plan. Maybe if she had another to train and bring into the life that she loved so dearly she would not feel the pull of her 900+ years. Shaking her head Layla pushed that thought from her brain. She did not want to train a baby. Didn't want to teach them how to hunt and protect themselves from those who hunt the vampires. What she needed was someone who was older, not many were her age or even close to it. Sebastian had recently come back into her life, maybe he......no. He was a friend and nothing more. A friend from as far back as Layla could remember, he would not do.
She scanned her mind and as she did she scented another vampire near by. "Julian." Her voice whispered against the wind that blew through the trees where she was roaming. As her mind focused in on his location, Layla slowly started to make her way toward him. She had no idea what she was going to do when she came upon his position. He was younger than herself, but the 150 years that separated them meant absolutely nothing to her. She came closer to him, still unsure of what to do when she came face to face with him. Her mind had ceased to function properly when she sensed him near.

[ooc: yes, just you. ;D]
Julian had shamefully put his head down -- the yearning to have Layla was selfish to say the very least and found it incredibly rude. "I am ... foolish to be thinking you'd want me, my dear," Julian thought to himself as he sat down on an old tree stump. He would have to be content with Mindy -- yes, Mindy alone. To think that Layla would actually accept him, what a notion! His teenaged ways were always causing him trouble when it came to being happy, then again, it was what kept him so delightful to be around.
"Julian..." Julian's eyes and head shot up like a rocket as started to look around. It was her! She wasn't following him, was she? Shaking his head to escape the thought, Julian didn't want to put on a facade like he did when she was around him and other vampires like them were in their presence too. He couldn't admit that he was infatuated by both Mindy and her! It was embarassing enough that he was already thinking about her presence coming closer and closer to him. Standing up from the stump, Julian took up his meekness and reverted it to courage as he walked over to Layla.
Mumbling to himself, Julian began to sing an old patriotic song for the military boys he had fought along with during the evenings of WWI and WWII:
Oh, Johnny! Oh, Johnny! How you can love! Oh, Johnny! Oh, Johnny! Heavens above! You make my sad heart jump with joy, And when you're near I just Can't sit still a minute. I'm so, Oh, Johnny! Oh, Johnny! Please tell me dear. What makes me love you so? You're not handsome, it's true, But when I look at you, I just, Oh, Johnny! Oh, Johnny! Oh!

ooc: Aren't I just the luckiest girl in the world?!
But when I look at you, I just, Oh, Johnny! Oh, Johnny! Oh!
Layla walked into the clearing listening to Julian's song that he whispered under his breath. She recognized it just barely, she had been alive during that time as well, but she was not involved in the war at all, being a woman and all. Her mind was still not working quite correctly. It was interesting that she had never really thought of Julian in the light that he was in her mind right now. Why had he never entered her mind? Now suddenly he was all she could think of. Maybe it was his nearness and the sadness that she had been feeling. Whatever it was, it was making her walk into the clearing with a single focus on the vampire that stood there waiting for her.
Her skirt flowed around her as she slowly stepped toward him, her bare feet peaking out from under the hem of the fabric. Stopping just in front of him, it was all she could to do to look up and meet his eyes. "Julian." It still came out a whisper, what was wrong with her? Layla could never remember acting this way toward one of her kind. Even with Luciano it had been a relationship based almost on loyalty and debt. He had changed her, that was a main reason she stayed. Julian had no ties to her creation or her training. His name was the only word she could make herself say, she had no idea what was going to happen, the way she was acting it could be anything.

[ooc: yes, my dear, you are -- Please tell me dear. What makes me love you so?]
Julian blinked as he stared into Layla's eyes. It was as if he'd catch fire from staring at them. "Good evening...Layla. It's good to see such a pretty lady and friend in my presence," he spoke softly as one of his hands that had been standing at his side now reached up and touched Layla's face. This was forbidden fruit, unpardonable sin, Julian thought as he stared at Layla with lonely and drifting eyes. Her skirt, her movements, blast it all! It tortured his very mind! This had to stop and if it didn't, Julian worried if he'd ever Sire Mindy.
Then, he realized it: He loved Mindy...Mindy expected that she would be her Sire. Looking back at Layla, he grinned. "Do you always have this weird feeling when we meet? It seems that I really do and I don't know what to do about it," Julian said as his hand trailed off her cheek.

She heard him speaking to her, but it didn't register in Layla's mind. Something about being glad to see her. Layla nodded her head, agreeing with was he was saying to her. She stood there, almost stuck to the ground. He was staring into her eyes, looking at them as if he had never noticed them before. It was an interesting feeling, almost as if he knew what she was thinking about while she was clueless.
His hand raised from where is rested at his side, and she watched it with fascination. It came and brushed her cheek. Closing her eyes, she fought and lost against the urge to turn her face into his hand. His hand was basically cradling her face in his hand.
"Do you always have this weird feeling when we meet? It seems that I really do and I don't know what to do about it." This words broke the semi-spell that had been around her. She was still feeling very strange and looking at Julian much different, however now her mind was actually able to function.
"I have not the faintest clue what is happening either darling." She returned his grin with a small shy smile of her own. It was odd for her to be even be thinking of flirting with Julian, yet here she was and the thought was definitely running through her head. "But, I admit that I am having the same feelings." Averting her eyes, she hated admitting that she wasn't in complete control of her emotions and what she was feeling.

Continuing to look at Layla, Julian couldn't help but suddenly to faintly smile at her. She was having the same feeling as he? This was quite interesting to say the very least... very curious at that too. Blinking his eyes softly, Julian's smile faded for a minute. "This is so awkward for me. I mean, I'm a vampire, you're a vampire. You're older than I, but I'm so...." His mature side screamed for him not to even dare mention it, but he ignored it as he shook his head 'no.' "Happy when you're near, dear. This ails me so badly... I have a young mortal who I'm supposed to Sire, but how can I when a beauty such as you floods my mind and pierces the hopes I have for that mortal?" he inquired as his hand trailed back up to her face.
Reaching over, Julian kissed the bridge of her nose and then stood back with a smile. "Everytime I see you, I get the feeling I knew you before I was changed, as if...you were the one who made me, but that's impossible, isn't it? If it were so, I would've stayed with you. Layla..." Julian removed his hand and turned around to not face her as the tears of blood fell down his face. This was not where he wanted to be now... The emptiness in his body was becoming slowly unbearble. "Please tell me dear. What makes me love you so?" he sung softly, trying to avoid crying more than what he already was.

She smiled at him slightly as he fumbled over his own words, trying to form the idea that he wanted to get across to her. Layla waited patiently for him to finish his explanation. He was having strange feelings around her but he was going to Sire a human, turn a mortal to their life. It was somewhat of a shock to her, although it should not have been. Wasn't it only moments before that she had been considering the same option for herself? It was what their kind did when they started to feel alone, they turned someone into a vampire so that they would have a constant companion.
Layla shook of the jealousy that had suddenly overcome her at the mention of this human that Julian wanted to turn. It was silly and ridiculous for someone of Layla's age to be jealous of a mere mortal, yet here she was with the unusual feelings boiling in her. His hand was back at her face, and the jealous thoughts faded into the background. Just the feel of his skin against hers was enough to clear her mind of any other thoughts. She slowly moved her face into his palm again, placing a small kiss on the closest part of the hand. When he returned her gesture with his own soft kiss to her nose, Layla looked at him with wide eyes.
"As if...you were the one who made me, but that's impossible, isn't it? If it were so, I would've stayed with you. Layla..."
She shook her head, letting the long hair that fell from her head wave around her shoulders and face. "Darling, it is not possible that I was your sire. All those that I turned perished in a fire with the one that changed be as well. This was almost 500 years ago. And since that time, I have brought no one else into our form of living." Her words were delivered to his back, after his own words were spoken he had turned from her. As she spoke, Layla moved around so that she would be able to see his face. When she was finally facing Julian, she felt her eyes widen at the sight of the blood tears that ran down his wonderful face.
Stepping closer, Layla placed a soft hand on his chin and turned his pace upward. The lyrics from the war chant floated through the forest where they stood. "Darling, no tears, please." She wiped away one tear streak with her fingers, and the other was wiped away by her tongue. Layla allowed herself to lean into him to run her tongue softly over his face to scoop up the offending red trace.

As her tongue slipped onto his skin, wiping away the blemishes of blood, Julian softly moaned for a moment. Her touch was heavenly, not to mention that she wasn't planning on hurting him. As the tears ended, he stared at Layla with a soft smile. "You're kind and considerate to me, yet...you act differently around me than what you do when you are around the others like own. Why is this? Am I truly different than they?" he inquired with a soft smile as his hands came up to her face.
With a grin, Julian took one hand and brushed her face with it and with the other, he ran his fingers through her hair. *"Ché donna bella siete. Siete sicuri voi rimarreste satisified con me? Sono il vostro Johnny? così... Dice così sulla vostra faccia. È questa destra?" Julian said with his smile growing wider. Reaching forward, he kissed her lips and then quickly retracted -- he had an idea to start singing to her again:
Mr. Sandman -- bring us a dream Give him a pair of eyes with a "come-hither" gleam Give him a lonely heart like Pagliacci And lots of wavy hair like Liberace Mr Sandman, someone to hold Would be so peachy before we’re too old So please turn on your magic beam Mr Sandman, bring us, please, please, please Mr Sandman, bring us a dream.
Translation: What a beautiful woman you are. Are you sure you'd stay satisified with me? Am I your Johnny? I'd so... It says so on your face. Is this right?

ooc: Wah!!!! I am no longer the oldest female! I got beat out by some Egyptian Queen!!
"Why is this? Am I truly different than they?"
A soft laugh escaped Layla with his innocent question. "Oh darling," she whispered to him, their faces only inches apart. "You are so different from the rest. Believe me when I say this, it is meant with every fiber of my being. You are different to me." She watched his eyes, searching for a sign that he either understood what she meant or felt the same way. His hand returned to her face and Layla felt herself let out a sigh of relief. There was something between the two of them, it was up to them both how far it would go. They both had shields that needed to be let down in order for any form of a relationship to work out.
His sweet Italian slid over her, with his fingers running through her hair, all Layla could do was stand in the clearing and stare with wide eyes at the man in front of her. "Siete sicuri voi rimarreste satisified con me?"
It took her mind a moment to translate the comment before she was able to answer him. Another laugh escaped her with his sweetly asked question. "How could I ever grow bored with you darling? *Siamo perfetti per a vicenda." She answered him back in his own language. Hoping that she had not butchered the accent horribly. Even as she answered his question, Julian darted in and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. Layla was left staggering slightly when he pulled back suddenly.
Her dismay was lightened when he began to sing to her again. Yet another laugh escaped her when he got to the line about curling hair, unable to resist the urge, Layla ran her fingers through his own curly hair. "Mr. Sandman, bring us a dream." Layla sang the last line of the chorus along with Julian, their voices blending in the night. As the last words trailed off, Layla let herself fall forward toward him, placing a soft kiss on his lips. She pulled away but only a fraction of an inch, and there she stood waiting, again searching his beautiful eyes for a reaction.
*Translation ~ We are perfect for each other.

Chuckling loudly, Julian couldn't help but smile at Layla. He wasn't really Italian, it was the times he had spent at both in the Transylvanian regions and The Vatican. Those were the times when he had been ... punished for only being a curious little boy. Perhaps it really had impacted his life, then again, everything and every little detail impacted Julian's life, no matter how big or small it was. The details always came back to haunt or tease him, but sometimes...there was the goodness and purity of those times too.
"Siamo perfetti per a vicenda...." The smile became a large grin. They were perfect when they were together, weren't they? Julian thought as she was certainly surprised when he had kissed her lips. Those waxy, slender, scrumptious lips... Oh how they tormented! Blinking to keep himself from crying from laughing so hard internally, Julian stared at Layla and snickered. However, the night had finally come alive when he had sung the song and got to the wavy hair lyric. Layla teased him and played with the plastered wavy hair of his causing him to grin wider than before. It only got better as he joined with her at the end of the song and then smiled.
"Yes, Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream indeed, but the way the looks of things are going, I've already got mine," Julian said as he smiled brightly at Layla. The surprise came right after he had spoken. Layla had reached over and purged those lips with his. A sinner's lips that professed many things in his lifetime, yet...they were cleansed at the very moment she had touched them with her initating the kiss.
As she retracted, Julian removed his hands from her face and instead, pulled her body to him. "You are truly a wonderful creature, Layla. I don't think I'd be without someone like you, guiding this poor individual into Eden once more..." he said, his voice trailing off as he continued to smile as the moonlight above them shone down on the two vampires.

She couldn't believe that she had actually kissed him. Even as she did it Layla was shocked with herself. She was feeling so strangely around Julian that she was reacting without throughly thinking which was not like her. In all the years that she had walked the earth, this was the first time that she was catching hints of what the mortals saw as love. Even when she was with her sire, whom she had stayed beside until his own destruction, she had stayed because of familiarity and power, never love. Maybe it had been loyalty but never love. If this was even a hint of what it was like, then she now realized why it was so easy to lure them with an idea of it. It was amazing, something you strove your whole life to attain.
When she pulled back from the kiss, she was startled to find a smile plastered across Julian's beautiful face. He was grinning like a madman. Her suspicions were confirmed a moment later when he pulled her body into his, making sure that they had almost full shoulder to knee contact.
"You are truly a wonderful creature, Layla. I don't think I'd be without someone like you, guiding this poor individual into Eden once more..."
Amazingly, Layla felt heat rush up her face, staining her cheeks red. She had never had anyone make such statements about her before. The blush spread across her face and made her avert her eyes from his own. Lowering her gaze forced her to lower her head, and as she did this it put her face almost against his neck and chest. Suddenly she had an undeniable urge to push her head under his neck and rest her head on his shoulder, with her face pressed against his skin, soaking in the feel and smell of him.
Not even wanting to fight the urge, Layla let her thoughts go and decided to follow what her body and heart wanted her to do. Leaning closer, she nuzzled her face against the skin of his neck, just resting her head on his shoulder with her forehead pressed against his neck. Her arms which had gone limp against her sides now rose and wrapped themselves around the vampire that she stood in the clearing with. Layla pulled him closer against her, there was not a centimeter of space between their bodies and she was beginning to think that she could live this close to him for a long time and be very very content with her life.
