Kai sat on the kitchen counter, tossing her dagger into the air and catching it again. She had asked any vampires who were interested in the coven to come to her home. All she had to do was wait for someone to show up. There were already a few that had vocalized their wishes to belong to her coven. They were welcome to her home at anytime, after she got to know them, at least.

Giselle ambled through the busy streets searching for the right house. She heard about this Kailyn, she was the coven master for vampires who loved being a vampire. It was perfect, now she could hunt with a partner. It would be a lot more fun anyway. Two vampires taunting a mortal until they were on the brink of insanity. She could picture all the destruction they would create. Giselle certainly hoped Kailyn was like her. Bloodthirsty, and cruel. Giselle found herself facing the house but she didn't want to go inside yet. It was rude to show up at someone's house with nothing.
Giselle looked over the house next door. Mortals resided there, she could see all the lights on. She could hear the vacuum running, children playing, and the television blaring. A family of four, all for her taking. Giselle strode up to the front door and found it unlocked. She crept up the stairs and approached the room where she heard the laughter from the children. It was a boy and a girl.
Since she wanted to get to Kailyn's house promptly, she couldn't taunt them like she normally would. She couldn’t give them a chance to scream so their parents would come sprinting. Then she'd kill the children in front of the two horrified guardians and let them call the police. She would knock them out and wait until the mortal police force came. Then she'd have a real meal. Sadly, she could not do this tonight. Even though she longed to.
Giselle moved catlike behind the children and struck one and then the other with her fangs. She drained them dry. She moved downstairs and killed the mortal woman first and then snuck behind the armchair by the television and killed the mortal man. She would give these humans to Kailyn.
She slung the two humans over her shoulder and made for Kailyn's house. Giselle kicked open the door and set the humans on the floor. Her sensitive hearing picked up something from the kitchen so she stalked toward the entrance. Kailyn was a sight to see. She was perfect. The way she tossed the dagger, her disposition was beautiful. She was going to be her master and Giselle was going to enjoy it.
"Kailyn, we meet at last. My name is Giselle. It's a pleasure to finally talk to you. I'm interested in your coven," she began.

Kai could smell the humans with the vampire the second they entered the house. She grinned, someone had brought her a presant, hm, a tasty one too. Giselle was the vampire's name. Kai made a mental note, determined to remember who brought her the humans.
Kai smiled and the woman, she slammed the dagger into the counter, where there were many more chunks missing. Kai hopped down from the counter and walked over to the other vampire. "Kai." She stuck out her hand. "I see you've brought a gift." Whoever said that Kai couldn't be blunt and right to the point of what interested her was probably dead.

Giselle grinned and shook Kailyn's hand. "Yes, I had the pleasure of sinking my fangs into their necks and I had a drop of blood. Their blood type is A positive. It's very sweet." Giselle felt at home with this vampire, she was just like her. She was very impressive. "The humans are both yours, enjoy them. I killed their children. I figured you'd like adult blood more," Giselle said gesturing to the limp bodies. "All humans are good for is their blood. Mortality is so filthy," she sneered. Giselle hated humans, they were so stupid.
Giselle walked over to planted dagger in the counter and yanked it out. Kailyn had amazing strength. She spun the dagger around a few times before she hurled it into the wall. Kailyn was a magnificent vampire, she wondered why there were not others here begging to join her coven. "Am I the first here? Surely there must be other vampires who seek to torture mortals. They should be lining up at the door for one so great as yourself," she complimented.

Kai grinned, she knew the adults who Giselle had killed were perfectly ripe. Kai heard the dagger hit her wall, she raised an eyebrow and turned around from where she was walking to the humans. "Giselle, hun, don't touch my weapons without my say so." Kai said, looking Giselle straight in the eye, making sure that the woman would not forget. "As for the house," Kai shrugged, "Just don't make it look like s**t."
Kai went over and hoisted up the humans. "I'll only tell you this once," Kai continued, she figured that laying down the ground rules now would make it easier for her later. "don't try and flatter me with you words of praise." Kai opened the door to a cellar that she kept at frigid temp to keep some of her meals ripe, she made her voice loud enough so that the vampire would hear her, as she walked down the steps. "Respect me as I am your leader, but speak to me as if I am a hunting companion. I'll make sure to let you know when you're out of line." Kai interrupted her speech. "After all." Kai walked back up the steps, she went to the wall and yanked her dagger out, slamming it back into the counter. She grinned at the woman, hoping that her words had sunk in. "We are going to hunt together eventually."

Giselle liked this vampire every second she spent with her. She has such a commanding voice, she knew how to deal with vampires like Giselle. Giselle would have given a regular vampire a nasty rebuttal. Kailyn wasn't a regular vampire, she was a coven master and if her vampires got out of hand there could be a nasty fight. Giselle for once had to be obedient. She wanted to make a good first impression.
"Yes Kailyn, I understand. I won’t touch your weapons or wreck the house. I won't flatter you, I will respect you because you are my leader and I will speak to you as my hunting companion. You will tell me when I get out of line and I will stop," she repeated sincerely, she was a good listener.
"So, Kailyn, what have you got planned when other vampires get here? Are you going to tell us what to expect in this coven? Or if you'd like I could go out for some take-out for other vampires. It would be my pleasure."

Kai laughed, the woman was slightly amusing. "Call me Kai. . . please." Hell, Kai had to be nice sometime. Kai knew that the woman had a hard time being submissive, Kai herself would've probably gotten her ass kicked if she was in Giselle's position, she was never good at being submissive. "First, tell me about yourself." Kai knew she was touching on a sensative subject.
"I will give you warning now that you earn my trust, I will not give it away freely. If you make up some bulls**t story, and if I find out, I probably will." Lies were like sap in a tree, they would eventually come out, and when they do everything gets all sticky. Kai didn't like sticky situations. "Well," Kai shrugged, "we'll see what happens. But I swear you this, it will be fair punishment." Kai wasn't trying to sound threatening, she was just telling the vampire the truth. "So, m'dear, your past?"

Giselle pulled out a chair from the counter and sat, daintily crossing her legs. "My past is no secret, everyone in that little town knew what I was. They died so my story died. I just want to get it out because I want to be threatening," she began. As she talked she pulled out a compact mirror from her bag to check her make-up. She had to look gorgeous for those cute mortal boys. Stuffing the mirror in the bag she continued. "I will not lie to you because you have a right to know my past, a master must know these things. It's a long story so please pull up a chair," Giselle smiled wickedly. She loved telling stories, especially if it was about herself.
“I was brought up in an orphanage, the police told me where I came from. I was born in a small town in Paris. My family was very poor. They lived in a shack and my father died from an unknown illness a month before I was born. My mother took on the life of crime and had people steal for her because she couldn’t do it herself because she was pregnant with me. She died giving birth and the police found me because one of my mother’s thief told on her. I spent eight years at the orphanage before I was adopted into a rich family. They treated me well. I got everything I wanted but I was never loved so you can say I was depressed. I was very snobby, I always wanted more. I began drinking ans smoking under age but my parents would not let me out of the house until I was of drinking and smoking age. I was on my way out of a pub when I heard these strange sounds coming from the alley next to me. What I saw was a vampire feasting on a mortal. I rushed home intrigued about the creatures. I had my parents buy me a computer on which I learned all about vampires on. The more web pages I viewed the more I wanted the vampire life. I set out one night to find a vampire and get the dark gift. The vampire ended up coming to me. He was very old, 2,000 and something. He was searching for an heir before he went into the fire. He granted me the dark gift. When I woke up I only found his ashes.” Giselle paused, she was getting to the best part.
“I killed my parents and hid them in the cellar. I killed the servants one by one so I could still live in the house. After the mansion was sucked dry I moved onto another and repeated the pattern. It was a fun way to hunt. People in the town started to see that a lot of maids and butlers went missing. I was rich because I would take the servants money and I still had my foster parents money. Then there came a time when there was one butler left in the house. A young and handsome boy, Jack.” This was the part Giselle hated to talk about but she had to go on with the show.
“I fell in love with him and he too fell in love with me. I made him a vampire and we lived happily for four years. It was when he strayed from the house that he realized there was a whole new world to see. I begged him not to go, I loved him. One night he was just gone and I never heard from him since. I was so depressed then that I left home and found myself in the woods. All I could think about was Jack for a long time. I lived in the woods for three weeks neglecting to hunt. I didn’t want to kill anyone anymore, not without Jack at least. One day I just moved on,” good thing that was over, Giselle was about to loose it. Her voice was wavering just talking about him.
“I wanted to cheer myself up so I hunted a town nearby, I was very thirsty anyway. I got run out of the town. The stupid humans thought they could kill me by stabbing me with a stake, I still have the scar. Anyway, they left me in a abandoned shop. I simply waited until nightfall to leave.”
“Now I like to play the stock market and live the high life. I want to be part of a coven where vampires are just like me. They love human blood and they show no mercy. I was 21 years old when I became a vampire and now I am 30. Kai, this coven really means a lot to me. Without it, I’d be lonelier than ever,” Giselle finished. Her story was out and now she just had to wait for Kai’s reaction.

Kai hopped up on the counter, landing on her feet, she sat gracefully cross-legged. Kai listened the Giselle's story intently, she could tell the woman had not lied a bit when her voice started quivering. Kai felt for the other vampire. Kai herself had sealed her heart when she was young, a life without falling in love was so much easier than being on a constant emotional rollercoaster. When Giselle finished Kai jumped off of the table. She stood next to Giselle and put a hand on the woman's shoulder.
"Life-or existance- goes on." Kai said honestly. "There's nothing that we can do except accept what blows are thrown at us." Kai smiled kindly, this was a side of her that was rarely shown, but Giselle deserved it, she had spoken truthfully. Kai did not pity the woman, pity was not in her books, Kai just understood her pain."Don't worry, Giselle, you'll have this coven. You can talk to me, not a word will go around." Kai leaned against the counter once again. "I give you permission to enter my home whenever." Kai raised an eyebrow. "Now, have you any questions for me?"

After having gotten wind of a dark league of evil vampires, Garth knew that he had to go to the meeting. He was probably the most evil vampire out there -- so he went to the meetingplace, trying to be discreet. He hadn't passed on the word about this rondezvous, figuring that he could recruit people later on. It would have to work. If worst came to worse, he'd lie and say that he'd told all of his friends. Friends -- that was funny.
When he walked into the room, the first thing he noticed was the lack of the smell of blood. The second thing he noticed was the girl who had taken his human a few nights back -- the woman with the auburn hair and the unforgettable green eyes. "You!" Garth said before he could stop himself. "What are you doing here? This isn't a club for sissies who steal other people's hunt instead of finding their own!" Garth groaned - he didn't want her here. Not at all.

Giselle appreciated Kai's kind words. It was hard to touch upon that subject. "Thank you Kai, that means a lot to me." Giselle was also for once showing her soft side. This was not like her at all but she could talk to Kai and not get nasty sneers back. A vampire like her would say, just move on you big baby! Kai wasn't like that.
Giselle was about to ask a question when she sensed a vampire outside the house. He wasn't a regular vampire seeking to join the dark coven, it was Garth. A low growl emitted from the back of Giselle's throat which got louder when she heard him strutting up to the front door. Giselle jumped up from her chair knocking it over. Garth came in the house and recognized her right away.
"Garth! I should ask the same for you! I'm just surprised a pretty boy like you could find this coven! This is strictly for vampires who know how to hunt unlike you! Your so incompetent," she spat acidly. She didn't like this vampire, he could not be aloud to join this coven. Over her dead body.

When the male vampire walked into her house and the fireworks began to fly, Kai had switched modes. She went from the understanding woman, back to her normal mood. Kai put a hand on Giselle's shoulder, warning her to simmer down, this was Kai's turf and she would handle it.
Kai marched right up to the man. She would not tolerate a fight already. "Do you have some sort of unresolved problem?" Kai asked, she did not wait for the man to respond. "Number one, if you are definitely coming here in regards to the coven I am attempting to stap together, then you should address me first." Hell, Kai wasn't being b**chy on purpose, but she was determined to stop a fight from breaking out under her roof. "Deal with your personal matters later." Kai looked back towards Giselle. "Got it?" She asked both of them.

Garth smiled to himself. "A pretty boy like me?" He laughed maliciously. "They say opposites attract." Obviously, Giselle was not an ugly woman. However, Garth knew from decades and a few extra years of experience that insulting a woman's looks was just about the worst thing you could do. She had it coming, though; attempting to critisize Garth's hunting abilities was not a wise choice. It made him laugh, how obviously wrong she was. "I don't know how to hunt? I'm the one who had the human first, as you might recall. Trying to make yourself seem better in front of other vampires does not make you seem worthy, it makes you look pathetic," Garth spat, crossing his arms and turning his attention to the other vampire standing beside her.
"Hello, madmoiselle. I apologize for the abrupt outburst," Garth greeted, walking up to her and taking her hand. He kissed the back of her hand and eyed her with an irresistable smile before setting her hand back at her side. He would not give the same introduction to Giselle - never. "I am Garth Nyx, and I see that I'm the only male here thus far." He smiled at this thought ... being the only man around two beautiful women... everyone knew that he was charming, handsome, and alluring. The possibilities were endless.

Giselle gave Garth a dirty look. She noted Kai was trying to settle them down. Giselle would have to cooperate, Kai was her master now. "We'll talk about this later," she said coldly and slammed her back against the wall. She slid down and crossed her arms with a sour expression. That right there earned him a few punches. He did indeed insult her but Giselle knew she had beauty to die for. It was just a sad attempt to insult her.
Then Garth had to be such a charmer, kissing Kai's hand. Giselle was French too, she knew it was just a friendly gesture but she somehow imagined it to be something more. She couldn't be possibly falling for that. She was a little offended from that kiss though. Did she want those cold lips on her skin? Of course not! She shook all thoughts of Garth's affection maybe towards her away. She sensed that Garth didn't want her anyway. Why, he'd probably burn himself deliberately before he would have Giselle. She was doing it again. It was possible that just him ignoring her was what really hurt.
"I'm sorry Kai, my deepest apologies. It won't happen again. I promise," Giselle forced the words out. She ended up sounding like someone was strangling her. "I am sorry," she said a little more firm. She hated doing this. She could rip the vampire apart but Kai was the only one preventing it. Giselle kept reminding herself that she wanted to be in this coven and she had to accept that there was a leader. She was so used to just doing what she wanted. This was the very first time Giselle took orders from another vampire. She hated it but it was a necessity to be respectful to the coven master. Everything would get better once more women vampires came, and even men. Then she'd show Garth how to really flirt.

Kai excepted the man's greeting, flattered, but not fooled. Kai heard Giselle's remark about settling their issues later. Damn right you'll settle them later. Kai thought. Kai turned to both of them, voiceing her thoughts. "I don't care too much about your personal lives, but if the issues affect how this coven works, then I'm going to have to get involved." Kai warned, she hoped that she would never have to follow it out though. She looked at both of them. "Understand?" Kai said, smiling slightly.
