Steps were taken at a smooth and quickened gait down the crowded New York City side walk. Even though there were thousands of people on the streets, Avery could be easily spotted. Yes she was tall, not much taller than most of the people here and defiantly not the tallest on the streets so height was not the reason that she stood out. Avery just had this natural ability to draw attention to herself. She stood out. It was just a fact of life. Even as a mire human child she was always the center of everyone’s attention. She is simply the girl whom catches the eyes of most passing by. Not that she really cares. Avery was on her way to a private club for a party and that was all that was on her mind. Her attire was stunning, as it normally was. From head to toe she was wearing nothing but high dollar designer clothing and that could easily been seen. Draped across Avery’s torso was a loose grey blouse. The shirt rested softly upon the top of her left shoulder and the sleeve came down loosely just past her elbow. The shirt then made a large diagonal line across her chest. The end of the neck rested just below her right shoulder leaving it exposed along with her tattoo that seemed to glow in the twilight scene. The blouse ended at the top of a pair of dark skinny jeans with designs around the pockets and waist. The jeans hugged every curve in Avery’s long legs and made her appear that much taller. Pounding the earth below her was a pair of black stilettos. Completing her outfit was a long gold rope like necklace that hung at different layers from her nape almost to her belly button. Avery’s tri-color locks were tied up in a high resting pony tail with just her bangs hanging down. This left her shoulders even that much more exposed. Even though the sun was hiding in this twilight hour and it was safe for the vampires to lurk, the light was still a bit to much for Avery’s sensitive voids. So her signature shades covered them up, protecting them from the harmful rays of light.
Finally after walking with the humans for several blocks, Avery reached her designation. Club 105. The local hot spot. There was a big movie premier a few hours ago and now it’s the after party. Even if she wanted to, Avery would have never been able to attend the premier being that it started during the daylight hours. Not that she really wanted to, the after parties was all she had on her mind. Avery strode past the long line of people roped off with velvet ropes. Her strides were long and powerful as she walked up to the bouncer. “Avery Cade” Her name was the only thing she spoke to him. Quickly the bouncer looked her up on the list and opened up the door for her. Once inside Avery momentarily removed her shades but quickly replaced them. The flashing lights were much to much for her at the moment. Her first stop was of course the bar where she ordered the house special. She really didn’t care what it was as long as it was strong. When her drink was ready she delicately wrapped her fingers around it and began to explore the club and sip her drink. Just waiting for a human or one of her own to spark some interest in her. She could get rather bored at parties like these so she needed someone to entertain her for a bit. Digits wrapped tightly around the glass neck of the glass she held and she moved it to her rose lips. The cool liquid slid down her dry mouth and past her throat. Even though the alcohol was an appeasement to her it was not at all what she craved. Blood. Avery needed blood. But not now, none of these humans would be her target today. The empty glass was sat down on a bar and Avery took a seat and pondered ordering another drink. She was getting rather bored and thought of maybe leaving.

Seraphine felt different tonight. She normally did not have a care in the world for clubs or parties, but tonight she was bored. Close to tears bored. So she decided to visit a club, laugh at the fact that these ignorant humans are so close to death, yet they are to drunk to even realize it. That doesn't mean she didn't dress for the occasion though. Since this was a party, Seraphine wore an elegant long black dress that fit rather nice. It aligned her figure perfectly. She left her black and silver hair down, with a little curl at the ends. Sera decided to go short sleeves on the dress, exposing her tattoo on her right arm. Her black high heeled shoes tapped the floor impatiently. No one bothered her, for even though she was sixteen, she could pass for eighteen. The bartender gave her a scowl from time to time, for Seraphine wasn't buying anything, just sitting at the bar. Sera despised alcohol, and would never touch the stuff. She drank a soda instead, mainly to keep herself busy. The lights flashed and danced everywhere mimicking the humans. Seraphine laughed at their ridicolous outfits. The women practically wore nothing, there neck-lines went far down and their dresses and skirts seemed so short they would fit someone Sera's age or younger. Their makeup was so thick; it seemed no one respects natural beauty anymore. Seraphine suddenly picked up on a new scent, and she watched as the door opened and yet another woman came in. The scent was definitely vampire. The woman came over to the bar and ordered a drink. This girl's outfit was absolutely stunning. This was Seraphine's first encounter with another vampire, and she was eager to make conversation. The girl looked a little over Seraphine's age, maybe seventeen or eighteen.
Hello. I'm Seraphine.

Adenoids contracted as Avery took in an unnecessary breath. Breathing was something Avery really did not do, yet it was quite a habit being that she was always part of the human population. It would look rather weird is she was walking around a bunch of people without breathing now wouldn’t it. Though this breath served more than one purposes. For one, it was something comfortable for her since she was so use to forcing herself to breath. It became rather second nature for Avery. Another reason was that it helped her check her surroundings. And normally she didn’t find anything dangerous, normally. Thanks to her evolutionary advanced senses she easily picked up the scent of another vampire in the room. Hum this was odd. Even though Avery had been around for quite sometime, crossing the paths of vampires was something she didn’t do very often. Just as she turned to find the source of the scent, it found her. Behind darkened shades, voids scanned the small girl before her. She looked young. Very, very young. Not just age of appearance, but over all age. Avery has been around for quite sometime and she could tell the difference between old vampires and young. Of course the older the vampire, the stronger. When you were as old as Avery you could take one look at someone and guess their actually age. If Avery was correct this girl had not been around more than half a century. Compared to Avery’s two and a half centuries, this girl was just a baby.
Bodice immediately tensed with the new vampire’s presence. Other vampires made Avery nervous, she did fine with the human population, but was not so trusting with those of her of her own kind. Yes she was strong, wise and powerful but she still would rather not fight with another vampire. Also the simple fact that this was a rather newborn vampire put Avery on edge even more. She carefully watched the girl and saw no true signs of danger. This did not mean that she was to completely trust the girl. Ears picked up her words that sounded harmless enough. “Avery,” This was all she spoke as she extended her hand towards the girl. “Pleasure to meet you young one.” The greeting matched the girl well for she was young. Compared to Avery anyway.

Seraphine grinned as she shook Avery's hand. The mention of her age, and her true vampire age, made her laugh to herself. She knew she was young, and quite inexperienced too. Yet she always seemed to forget this fact. Time never really caught up to her. Her new life was endless, which made time endless and immeasurable too. Seraphine took note of Avery's sunglasses. Seraphine was very peculiar about sunglasses. She loved how they looked on her and other people, yet never wore them. Ever. They seemed trivial since, being a vampire, she never went into the sun. And Seraphine rarely occupied herself with trivial things. Which is another reason why it was peculiar for Seraphine to find herself in a nightclub surrounded by humans. Maybe she was meant to come here, to meet Avery. Avery seemed uneasy, not very trusting. She also seemed old. Not in appearance of course, but in vampire age. Seraphine had enough common sense to make sure she didn't step on any toes; this vampire could most definitely kill Seraphine in a matter of seconds. As a vampire gets older, their skills and strengths increase too. Seraphine would be no match if Avery wanted to pick a fight. Though harm nor aggresion seemed to posses this woman.
Pleasure's all mine.
Seraphine gazed around at the sea of humans. They never seemed to get bored of just dancing. They could probably go three hours straight before getting a rest. She drank the rest of her soda and set it down on the bar. Defintiely not as good as blood. The lights in the nightclub were bothering Seraphine. So many flashed at once, in every direction, it was all she could do to try not to follow each and every one.
I don't tend to hang around humans. Just felt like a change. What brings you here?

slow it down, make it stopbefore my heart is going to pop• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • [/center] The young girls question made its way to Avery and she pondered on her answer for a moment. She was an unordinary character in the vampire world. She would rather be in the human population than with other vampires. Yes she has tried the vampire thing. The living with a coven of others like her. It just wasn’t really for her. She liked being more human. It was natural. "I come to places like this rather often. I find in quite grounding to entice myself within the human population once more." Of course she did do more than simply entice herself within the human population. She lived within it and probably would for eternity. She noticed that the girl seemed uncomfortable and easily recognized why. "You know you should try a pair of shades in places like this. Flashing lights are killer on the vampire eyes. Believe me I am speaking from experience." Avery felt as if she needed to tutor the girl. Take her under her wing so to speak. Simply help her out in this awful world. Avery only wished that she had someone to help guide her after her change. Yes she had Damon, the one who changed her, but that wasn’t really any help at all. Damon was to worried with himself to condole the grieving Avery.
Attention was turned to a young boy walking by. He was staring at the two girls. Humans were so silly. They were mesmerized by the vampire types. They found us beautiful, stunning, and all around amazing beings. And Avery really couldn’t blame them. Vampires were naturally all of these things and more. The boy stopped in his tracks as Avery turned to him. One fair petite hand touched the cool metal of the dark shades covering Avery’s crystal voids and pushed them back through her hair and left them in a resting place upon her crown. Her crystal voids now locked gazes with the boy who looked in a daydream state. "Mind being a sport dear and running off to fetch me a drink?" The boy immediately turned and raced of to the bar. Not that Avery liked using humans but at the moment she was busy and wanted a drink. Within moments the boy was back handing the fresh drink to Avery. "Thank you, that will be all.“ Shades were replaced to their normal resting place and the drink was now within Avery’s grasp. The boy now looked confused, like he had no idea of the past few events and wondered off on the dance floor. A satisfactory smile danced across Avery’s fair facade as she turned to the one like her. "You will learn that trick soon enough, trust me." Avery almost never tried to make humans do things for her and if she did it was simply things like getting her a drink or something like that. She may have lost her soul but she still had a heart.

Seraphine listened to Avery's response, and she was quite interested. How could a vampire rather be around humans? Seraphine never really like humans, though she has actually only seen the bad side of them.
I actually prefer where it is quiet. Humans make too much noise all the time. It’s much too frustrating.
That's why Seraphine almost never goes into the city unless it's a feeding emergency. In New York it is full of noise. Everyone's yelling trying to sell hot dogs or some other mystery meat, and the cars are honking with traffic always being backed up. Seraphine thought of what it would be like to be around humans all the time like Avery was. It would need some getting use to. Especially with all her senses being overwhelmed like this. Avery interrupted her thoughts with the suggestion of wearing sunglasses to avoid the lights.
Hmm, I guess they have a use after all. Thanks, I will try that.
Yet as Seraphine turned to Avery, she noticed her attention was elsewhere. She followed Avery’s gaze to a boy that was staring at them. That’s one of the things Seraphine hates about humans. They stare. Like bug-eyed little creatures they stare at anything and everything. Avery lifted up her sunglasses and asked the boy to get a drink. Without obligation he did so and in a hurry. When he came back and gave Avery a drink and sent him off. He immediately got this confused look. Seraphine watched with extreme fascination. The boy seemed like he was in a mindless state right then. The fun she could have with that trick! Maybe Avery would teach her.
How did you do that? Would you teach me?
Seraphine wondered what other tricks Avery knew. Seraphine leaned back on the bar. Things were going well. Her first encounter with another vampire and Seraphine wasn't babbling on like an idiot like she usually does when she is excited. And Avery seemed nice. Seraphine watched as a more humans came in, this time with the paparazzi at their heels. They must be the reason for the party. Seraphine hated that. First of all she couldn't watch because of course the cameras had those intense flashes on them. Seraphine also hated how in the human world everyone is obsessed over which movie star is dating who, and some golf player crashing his car into a neighbor's tree. What they should really care about is their wars or advances in technology. The humans that were the main event of the party sunk into the crowd, and the doors closed blocking the flashing cameras.
Who were they?
