Shaden was not what anyone could call 'thrilled' it wasn't that he had to go to this club he'd never been to, but had heard of, or that he was going there to meet Sevanni. He had no problem with either of these things. It was the matter of dressing up. He'd rather have his jaw ripped off for the third time. The suit he was now wearing, a Versace Collection suit, had cost him more then anything he'd spent on clothes in a long time, 1295 dollars just for something he would likely only wear once. A damn waste of money.
Though of course it wasn't like he didn't have money sitting in almost every bank. It would surprise people how much cash Shaden had hidden away for safe keeping. There was no tie with this suit, he had his limits, and he was almost positive he'd die and burst into flames if one even got near him.
Shaden had laughed when he'd heard how much membership was. 1.5 million, that seemed a bit how just for some damn club. He couldn't imagine anything there worth that much. He heard that it was more or less a gentleman's club for vampires, and they could simply sit around and drink blood from a glass. It felt wrong to him. Shaden seemed more like a traditional vampire and refused to drink blood from some glass. 1.5 million indeed! It was outrages. It was just plain stupid. And he just might have to buy a membership because Helena worked there. Damn and damn.
He sighed, "Well, mine as well get this over with." Though he wasn't as reluctant as he seemed. He was curious as to what Sevanni wanted from him. What he wanted Shaden to do. So he walked out of his house, not bothering to lock it. If someone entered his house while he was gone then that was there own fault if they died. He got into his Maserati and took off down the street going, as always, much to fast. So it was no surprise that it took hardly no time at all for him to arrive at the club and park his car.
After a few moments he left his car, leaving it unlocked. It was a habit he had gained and wasn't about to stop now. He didn't care about his damn car or much of anything else. They could be easily replaced. At the door, he told the man his name, and the guy checked a list. After he was cleared to go in, he walked past him with a loud sigh of annoyance.
He didn't see Sevanni yet so he sat and waited for him. He was offered blood but turned it down. He was so damn stubborn.

"Did you do what I asked you to do?" She nodded without looking at him. Her head was turned slightly to the side. Had someone walked by they could see her silhouette and of course her lovely portions on that vuluptuous body. She was a beautiful, beautiful woman, and knew that she was highly special. More so than any woman he had ever come across. But not in a way where one could be suspicious of his motives.
"It's better to give than to receive sometimes." She nodded in agreement and gave a soft, "Yes Sir." A smile lifted over lips and Sevanni stood up straight. "Now....get back to work. I have a meeting to get to." Before the woman walked off Sevanni made sure to remind her once again. "And make sure Little isn't overdoing it with my mix." She nodded and he had began to turn while mumbling something. "Always using more than he should when it's not his shit." A bit of aggravation there, but it wasn't anything too important or valuable to waste time on. If Little was going to add more mix into his things, Sevanni would fire him and toss his skull into a fire pit.
Sevanni had never been late. Never. When he was mortal sure, but he was one for punctuality. Either on time or early.
He took the stairs from the kitchen and headed up to where the door had been next to the coat room. Closing the dark wooden door behind him, making sure that no one of importance had been out waiting or some such. He wasn't a manager per say, but he made the place manageable by acting as one. As long as he came in once a month to make sure things ran smooth than he was golden.
"Aahh, Mr. Black...Your guest has arrived." Sevanni smiled and patted the old man on the back. "Thank you. No calls." He gave gratitude and order all at once in a positive light. Sevanni was always in a good mood when he was here. Something he thought Shaden might enjoy.
Everything in the Culture club wasn't as bad as it seemed. Sure immortals drank from glasses, but there were special perks that came with membership. For instance; Shaden has a guest pass for a short while, which gives him the right to do as he pleased. If he wanted to take a victim, a girl, a guest, upstairs, all he had to do was do it and let someone know. He could feed then and there in the privacy of his own contentment.
Bodies were constantly drained. Warm upon arrival, never a chance to get cold before you were able to suck it down. He didn't enjoy it as much, but since his latest appetites had died down, it was an option to the latter.
"Shaden..My good man." He held out his hand in good spirits, wanting to shake his own as he shed a golden smile. Yes, Sevanni was in a comforting element. "Glad you came....." He took a seat across the table from him leaving a space between on either side. "I hope you found the place without trouble?"
What would have happened if Shaden didn't show up? What was with all of this no more grudges? Had what people said been true? Was he an opposition? Could he be trusted?
"I normally don't come here on a daily basis, just once a month or so. Figured you could enjoy something a little less.....strenuous." A smirk was given and he raised a finger. "Have you ordered anything?" He asked him while realizing then a waitress had spotted him. "We just got this lovely little Hungarian in this morning. Hasn't even been touched yet." Maybe he would care to try. Had he been hungry for a hungarian?

Shaden saw Sevanni coming, and waited until he was almost at the table to stand. Oh dear god, was he being polite? Somebody shoot him. Now. His hand reached out to shake Sevanni's hand. Well...at least he seemed in good spirits tonight. Someone had to, and that wasn't going to be Shaden. "Good to see you, Sevanni." He said as he dropped his hand. "Glad you came....." Shaden nodded, despite everything. He was glad he'd come to, though it had never even crossed his mine not to come. He smiled, "I wouldn't have missed this for anything." He said as he sat back down, and he was glad when Sevanni sat on the side of the table, giving him plenty of space. He was going to need it. "I hope you found the place without trouble?" He nodded, "Yes, I found it easily enough." Almost too easily, maybe it was time to find a new place to host this little club.
Now he was back to near square one. Could he trust Sevanni enough to be sitting here right now? And a better question would be, did Shaden even care if Sevanni could be trusted? They were both difficult questions, and he honestly didn't have much of an answer for either one.
Sevanni could be trusted, maybe, as long as Shaden stayed on his good side and didn't piss him off or anything. And he would try really hard not to. But it was hard to change old habits when he'd acted the same way for so many damn years. But he was getting better. Just the simple fact that he was here tonight meeting with him was proof of that.
But what if Sevanni couldn't be trusted? What would Shaden do then? Most likely nothing expect have his fun. The way Shaden saw it right now, if they could bury the past and move on, and learn to get along, then that was great. If they couldn't, and they both ended up trying to tear each others throats out, well that was just okay. The whole reason Shaden was here was because he kind of liked Sevanni. Respected him a little. And he didn't want him as an enemy anymore.
"I normally don't come here on a daily basis, just once a month or so. Figured you could enjoy something a little less.....strenuous." Less strenuous? Didn't Sevanni understand Shaden almost needed to stay active, to be doing something if he was going to be sitting here for any length of time. "Have you ordered anything?" Shaden shook his head, "No, I haven't." He said out loud, "And I don't want to." Is what he added in his head. Shaden kept up with the times about as much as he could stand to, but when it came to drinking blood from a glass. He simply hadn't been able to make himself to it. "We just got this lovely little Hungarian in this morning. Hasn't even been touched yet." Shaden's jaw clenched, only to relax again the next second. He didn't want Sevanni to know just how uncomfortable the idea of drinking blood from a glass was for him. "Well as long as it hasn't been touched yet...." He let his sentence just fade, and he forced a smile. Then looked away, glancing around. How far was Shaden willing to go in order to get Sevanni to trust him?

It was highly interesting to see Shaden the way he was around Sevanni. It had been one hell of a night the last they saw each other before their prior meeting. Raining in New York City, fighting back verbal dribble just because they could. Had there been fists? Something cracked or broken? For some reason Sevanni couldn't remember most of it. Highly unlikely for him to forget something so simple, so important.....
The thought of drinking from a glass had not been a good thought for his guest, and he wasn't going to get a mortal in a glass as if it were some wine house for vamps and blood took the place of grapes and finely cut cheeses from all over the world. Caviar, crackers and snooty uptight business men in tuxes and suits. It was fairly casual, just too elite for regular vampires.
"Well as long as it hasn't been touched yet...." Sevanni smirked, nearly frowning with a snicker before he stood... "Follow me. I think you might enjoy this." A natural grin lifted over his lips. Sevanni was never one to disappoint, especially when he was trying to figure someone out.
The trust issue was a huge factor with Shaden. They had hated each other for one or two reasons, held the grudge for so long, and out of the blue both parties were simmering down? It seemed impossible really, but it was the way it was.
His Emi would be out and about right now gaining efforts of her latest meal. Maybe she was at home letting her scent absorb into the sheets of the bed they shared. Emi had opted to stay with him, which made him happy of course, having her so close to keep an eye on. To be next to, share the coldness and transfer it into some sort of demonic warmth.
Sevanni led Shaden to the back of the room where they would pass through a door, then down a hall that led to some stairs going down into a lower level. "There is some business that I wish to be tended to, and seeing as how I can not go to England anytime soon, I need someone familiar with the city to go there and pick someone up for me, and bring them here." He started as they began walking. "It's not going to be an easy job, but it is of great importance." Continued on as they walked down the stairs.
Lights kept it all well lit, he wouldn't pull something on Shaden and by walking ahead first with his back turned against him, he had proven that much. He could be partially trusted. For now he wouldn't worry.
Sevanni pressed on, both with words and down the hall. "If you would like the job, it's yours. Just let me know what I can do for you....if it's a bounty you want....." He let the sentence drift off there to let him take with it what he wanted. His thumb was pressed against the electronic keypad after a secret code was punched in below it, a green light flickering for a door to open.
Not many people had special privlages to enter through some of the tunnels below the ground. There were some who had dungeon rooms, but these rooms were a bit more sophisticated and off limits to the lesser of importance.
There in the far room, past the sitting lounge and bar, past a room on the right that led to a bedroom and bathroom, and it was a single room with not one, but two little mortals standing in a row. One boy, one girl. He simply opted out of telling Shaden there were two.
So now it was Sevanni to be bold. "What do you say? After all, this is a dinner meeting is it not?" A slick grin waved across his lips as he spoke with his hand smack dab on Shaden's opposing shoulder. The two were side by side with eyes looking about the two. But which one would Shaden take? After all, he did have a small note in his file that was built around speculation.

"Follow me. I think you might enjoy this." Shaden doubted he would enjoy what ever it was Sevanni was going to show him, but nonetheless, he stood. Glad to have the movement, and be finally going somewhere. Shaden didn't know what it was that drew him to Sevanni, but there was most defiantly something about the man that made Shaden curious. It was almost hard to believe that these two had once been hated enemies, and they had despised the other. Hell, Sevanni had shown more disgust at times, like he simply couldn't stand to be near him. It was amusing. So far though, Sevanni had shown none of that, though, knowing these two, it could easily happen all over again, and they'd be right back where they started. Shaden didn't want that. And he'd be willing to do most anything to keep things as they were. They weren't friends, but then what could they be called. They knew each other a little more then to be able to call themselves associates. Given the fact he was here could they simply be called business partners? Would that even work. It didn't feel right. But surely there had to be a way to describe this little relationship of theirs. They passed behind some doors in the back of then room, and then down the stairs. Shaden's whole attitude changed in an instant. He loved being in basements and lower levels of anything. Hell that was where he'd spent the first years of his vampire life. Down in some damn basement. But it was odd that he would feel more comfortable here considering all that had happened to him in that said basement. "There is some business that I wish to be tended to, and seeing as how I can not go to England anytime soon, I need someone familiar with the city to go there and pick someone up for me, and bring them here." He listened very intently, though he was certainly enjoying this little walk right now. He even appeared more relaxed. He no longer looked tense or anything. "It's not going to be an easy job, but it is of great importance." So then Sevanni must be at least trying to trust him. Given the fact that he had gone first and was now walking a head of him. If Shaden had wanted to attack him, now would have been the perfect time, but of course, Shaden had no desire to attack him. Or maybe Sevanni was attempting to prove that he could be trusted. It worked both ways. And he was surprised Sevanni was trusting this kind of job to him if it was so important. "I understand." He said, and then after then continued to walk he asked a few seconds later, "And who is it you need to be picked up?" He had a right to ask right? After all if he was going to go all the way back to England, then he had to at least know whether he was going to be getting a male or a female. Really the who and the why made little difference to him. "If you would like the job, it's yours. Just let me know what I can do for you....if it's a bounty you want....." Shaden smiled, "Yes, I'd like the job," He didn't even need to think about it, "But you don't have to worry about anything. I don't want a bounty or anything else." And it was true. Why would Shaden want a bounty? He would do this for the simple pleasure of it. For the trouble and the challenge it presented to him. He watched as Sevanni pressed his thumb against the electronic keypad. Well was he fancy. Had his own keypad and everything. Shaden wasn't impressed. In fact, it took a great deal for Shade to ever be really impressed by anything. When they finally stopped, Shaden was slightly surprised to see not one, but two humans. A boy, looking about 17, and an older looking girl, maybe around 21. That was the same age he'd died. How ironic. They were clearly bother and sister, they both had that same almost dirty blond hair color. "What do you say? After all, this is a dinner meeting is it not?" He looked over at him in time to see that grin of his, and then he looked at Sevannis' hand on his shoulder. Then he looked back at the two humans. Sevanni clearly want him to pick one out, and he wanted to see what one Shaden would pick. He felt like a science experiment, and he knew he was a very interesting subject to observe. His lips formed a sinful, yet playful grin. This was going to be interesting all right. He didn't even need to move to know what one he wanted. It was an easy choice for him, simply because he liked them slightly younger. He looked back at Sevanni, "You can have the girl." He said, and then looked back at the boy.

"I understand." Of course he did. Sevanni had never thought Shaden to be anything less than educated, of course he wasn't at the high levels as older vampires were, but he was smart nonetheless. "And who is it you need to be picked up?" A question he had let linger until after he was finished. "Yes, I'd like the job, But you don't have to worry about anything. I don't want a bounty or anything else." Sevanni would compensate him somehow. He always did and it was so there wouldn't be any favors needed in the long run.
They stood there, and Sevanni didn't even think twice about touching him. It was just a gesture he had done out of his relaxation. Yes, Sevanni had appeared different than usual, which made minds work away those thinking clocks. What the hell was wrong with Sevanni? "You can have the girl."
A grin rose not only over lips, but over his mind as well. Uh huh, the boy. Shaden had chosen the boy. Sevanni liked boys as well but he wasn't a fan of killing innocent children. The girl of course was well within his age limits. Had he chosen the girl, he would have let Shaden indulge in both.
He removed his arm, his hand, turning back to slide the door closed behind them. Once it had he noticed the two furl into each other like a pair of scared kittens. Which reminded him, his little mortal kitten had to be taken care of as well soon. He made a mental note of it and tucked it away for later.
"The person is a girl." He began while stepping over to the female who held tight to her brother. Without hesitation she had given up her sibling and allowed Sevanni to grasp her by her hair. "The girl...." He continued as the girl within his grasp let out a whimper as he pulled her up. "She's someone of great interest, and someone that must be extinguished as soon as possible." He held the girl in his arms and while tears strum down those cheeks and sniffles emerged, she had stayed quite still under his hold.
Her brother had tried to reach out for her, but of course, who was going to challenge to older and much stronger beings in the room. It wasn't as if they didn't know they were going to die. They knew. They knew the moment Natasha had spoken to them, their fate and wanted devotion for sacrifice. They didn't have much to live for anyway.
His thumb rolled over her neck as eyes lowered to view his workings, lifting soon after to get a glimpse of Shaden. His actions. How he stood, his facial expressions, the motions of his hands and how he braced himself for everything and nothing. It was rather exciting.
"I want her here so that I can see her alive for myself.....Then...." Then it was over. He'd press his nail so hard into her flesh that blood drew from it, releasing it's scent into waiting nostrils. A tongue moved out and licked the stream flowing over skin. Reveling in the taste and altogether eroticism of it.
"And then I want you to do away with her.....and hand her head over to me." He felt the girl suck in air, felt it under his grasp after the hand gripping her hair had moved. Fingers finding their way over that larynx and feeling the liquid of her saliva travel down her dry throat.
His free hand tilted her throat, and because there had been someone there, someone he had never fed with before, he was being very polite in his feeding. Usually he was clean and always made sure no drop was spilled on him, he had grown rather messy lately since Emiste. Indulging in flesh splitting, letting the mess spill everywhere and enjoy each other in the mess that was death. He had forgotten what it was like to leave a clean mark. Better practice for his mortal.
He let the woman drop to the floor as he adjusted his shoulders and neck. Hearing a crack and a pop before he let out a breath and wiped the corner of his mouth with his right thumb, putting it in his mouth to suck it off. There was a little chortle, but you would have to have caught the grin in order to notice it. Yes, it felt good to feed, but still; it wasn't enough.

Shaden's gaze didn't even shift toward Sevanni's direction as his arm was slowly removed from his shoulder, and the door closed. Something just seemed wrong with Sevanni tonight. He wasn't like this on their first meeting. The whole, touching thing, was not something Sevanni would normally ever do. He watched the boy and girl practically cling to the other, as if by doing so they could hope to stop anything from happening to them. But sadly, well sadly for them anyways, that wasn't about to stop these two. Besides, Shaden hadn't fed before coming here, and the close proximity to them was starting to realize how thirsty he was. Which was not a good thing. For Sevanni at least. Blood was blood to Shaden, and if he drank from this kid and couldn't help himself....well, there went their little agreement to get along. Which would be rather upsetting for Shaden. He was looking forward to this whole thing. Maybe getting to know Sevanni a little more. "The person is a girl." A girl huh? Then maybe it wouldn't so hard as Sevanni made it sound, then again, Shaden didn't know the girl he was about to run and fetch for him. He watched Sevanni moved toward the girl, like a cat observing every move. He found it interesting how the girl seemed to immediately let go of her brother. And he so enjoyed that whimper that fell from the girls lips. "She's someone of great interest, and someone that must be extinguished as soon as possible." He couldn't help but step forward too, walking behind the boy and grabbing him, pulling him against him, but still allowed the boy to watch his sister. How sweet of him. Shaden hardly noticed the boys pathetic attempt at reaching out to his sister. What the Hell was he going to do anyway? He was almost tempting to let him go just to see what he would do. Would he run, and try to save is own life, or try to release his sister. An imposable act. But he help fast to him, not giving him even an inch, and that's when the tears started. Oh he loved to see them cry. He lifted his right hand and gently tilted the boys head to the side, and surprisingly, when he moved to slowly trail his fingers down his neck, he didn't even move. Like a small rabbit that knew it was about to die. He happened to glance up just in time to notice Sevanni looking at him. Shaden's smiled to him could very nearly be described as disturbing, but his gaze didn't remain on Sevanni for longer then a second. His mouth touched flesh, soft, warm; his tongue snacked out to taste the boys skin, he could swear he could taste the fear on him. It was a thick, pulsing thing, that swept around the room, filling it with its delicious smell. That's one reason why he liked them so young. The fear in them was so much more fresh, then that in older men or women. "I want her here so that I can see her alive for myself.....Then...." He's become to involved with his newest temporary play thing that he'd forgotten Sevanni was still explaining something to him. He wished he'd hurry up, and get on with it. The very second Sevanni drew blood from the girl with his nail, Shaden could smell it, and it did nothing to help his concentration at all. Especially not when Sevanni licked at the blood. Shaden's eyes closed for a brief second, trying to settle his suddenly frenzied nerves. "And then I want you to do away with her.....and hand her head over to me." A soft, breathy laugh escaped Shaden's mouth. "With pleasure." He said, after a minute. How perfect. He was to go and find this girl, bring her back to him, and then kill her. Taking her head off too! Nothing would give him more pleasure then to rip some girls head off. He looked up at Sevanni again. A mistake. He couldn't help but watch as he drank from the girl, he seemed very neat. And he wondered if Sevanni had a problem with making a clean kill too. Shaden had never actually been taught how, he'd had to learn on his own, and therefore, if there was a time, such was the case now, when he needed to keep his kill clean, he could cause his victim to feel a great deal of pain, without making a mess. He couldn't take it anymore, he lowered his gaze back to the boys perfectly exposed neck and angled his head in just the right way, and, with knowing how much this would hurt, he smiled as he finally ended the torment that was going through him. He felt the boy jerk, but of course that got him no where. He was done, for now, and let the boy drop next to his sister. He licked his lips slowly, catching the blood that was there on his lips. He continued to stare down at the two. Though his blood had been nice, it was not enough for him. sometimes he thought he would never be full, that he would never have enough blood. He liked killing and death too much.

"With pleasure." He spoke out after a breathy laugh. That bought a little grin over his lips. Sevanni was a curious man. He wondered about people both mortal and immortal. How they worked, what they thought, their actions usually spoke louder than words, which was why Sevanni always chose his words and actions carefully.
It was like that with the Tripod before they turned him into the monster he is today. After his encounter with them everything had gone uphill from there until recently. It had been them to put them at their down fall.
He remembered seeing their faces as he laid in the garden. It was where he had spoken to the little girl Mackenzie, it was the second place he had taken to after his little book collection. The garden. A nirvana that gave his mentals a bit of peace.
Watching Shaden indulge in something Sevanni had offered, had given him some understanding of how he was around others. Perhaps another would do him just fine, but that was for later. There was always a later, and when it came to Shaden Grace......Sevanni was looking forward to that time.
The boy was no more. On the floor, dropped next to his sister like litter on the streets. The custodian would come and clean the mess, prepare the place for some new toy(s).
"Now that we've had a little snack..." He began. After all, it was a mere snack to Sevanni for what he was used to, and he could tell that it wasn't quite enough for Shaden. "How about a little entertainment?" Depends on what Shaden thought as entertainment. It could have meant anything really, but it would really intrigue him to see if he would ask or simply follow along.
In all honesty Sevanni wanted to have his own entertainment. There was a little fun waiting outside, but maybe it wouldn't be so fun for Shaden. A smirk lifted over lips as he turned with eyes peering from Shaden to the door, unlatching it and moving out into the main room. He'd get an eye full of someone a bit more familiar, and with her Shaden would understand why Sevanni wanted Shaden to meet him in New York. Why he knew Shaden's moves, and why he had offered up a responsive gesture of a truce between them. Shaden had given it first, but it was Sevanni who owed Shaden more. After all, he did save Shaden from a world of misery.

What was it about Sevanni that just drew Shaden to him? A long time ago, he had said that the two of them were more alike then each cared to admit, and not so long ago, Sevanni had finally agreed that this was the truth. Were they both such curious men that they simply couldn't let the other be?
Shaden hadn't needed to find Sevanni back in England, but he had. Why? He only came up with that apology after he'd seen him. Every word of it was the truth, however it had not been his reason for finding him.
When Sevanni had left, it was like a good book had been forced from his hands, and nothing was interesting anymore. Everything turned dull and ordinary. Boring. Then when he'd heard that he was back, it was like he'd been given his book back. Everything was different, and yet the same.
He wanted to stay as close to Sevanni as possible, learn about him, watch him for the simple pleasure of being able to finally understand him. Shaden often wondered how many vampire, if any, knew about Sevanni's past. There was only one vampire left alive that knew everything about Shaden's past, and he hadn't seen her for some time now. What he told others was mostly lies or half truths.
"Now that we've had a little snack..." Shaden pulled himself out of his thoughts and looked at Sevanni. So it wasn't enough for Sevanni either? How interesting. "How about a little entertainment?" Those words worried Shaden, although he didn't let it show. Something told Shaden that the entertainment Sevanni had in mind wasn't going to be good. "What kind of entertainment?" He hated how he was both wary of what was to come and yet interested to.
Shaden made brief eye contact with Sevanni as he looked from him to the door. Everything inside told him he wasn't going to like this, but even as Sevanni opened the door and walked into the main room, he didn't say anything. He followed because he needed to see what was waiting for them. He stopped just beside Sevanni, his face unreadable as he looked at her. It just goes to show his luck. Out of anything in the world that could have been waiting for them in here it simply had to Helena. Go figure. Well, at the very least, Shaden was right; he wasn't going to like this at all.

"What kind of entertainment?" What kind indeed? Sevanni gave his usual breathy release of air that indicated great fun for him, maybe not so much for Shaden, but he had to be sure. Not just about Shaden, but about her as well.
She walked in the uniform, it wasn't tasteless at all, not extremely short in the skirt or low in the top, but still, something that caught the eye because she was after all, beautiful in her own way. "Helena here...." He started as he walked, making sure Shaden wouldn't stray. Oh stay close Shaden. Stay close. "Helena doesn't like to give out home made samples, but this here.....this is something that I think you may enjoy."
There were two small black shot glasses laid on a glass tray, filled to the near top with some sort of warm liquid. It felt like it came straight from the pot, but it hadn't been. "Sometimes the help has to be...pursuaded to help the host entertain." He went on, taking his action to sit in one of the lounger chairs. There was a table between that and another, a hand gestured to offer him up the other.
"Try this.....I'm sure you will find it....delectable." He would recognize it. Taste that it was the blood in which he himself had tasted before. Sevanni had taken down the shot because he always wanted to know what it was she tasted like. All of the girls were protected on the job, but this one had been forced out. This little task of hers.
Sevanni hadn't done it to be cruel, but of course he had to see. Had to know. "Now.....I think she's ready...yes?" He looked up at her, wanting her to give it a go. The supposed virgin Mary herself up to do a little bit of show and tell. Maybe her job was on the line. Maybe her life. Maybe she was being bribed or punished for something. With him, one never knew.
Sevanni hadn't known Helena as a close friend or even a simple person. She worked where she worked, and she had skeletons in the closet that Sevanni had let remain hidden. That is, if she had done this one little task. If so, she could be free to do anything she wished afterwards. Test them both, see what would happen if this fell through.
Again, it wasn't to be mean to Shaden or Helena, it was a simple test. The fact was, Sevanni rather liked Shaden in a certain light. In the beginning he had liked him and accepted him because of Massimo, but that had ended quickly after visions of another involved with him. That was when things went sour. Shaden had been a bump in the road that refused to be dug up by the city. Plenty of man power and funds, just not the right tools. Not at the time.

She'd seen him upstairs and now she had to face him. This had been the worse possible night for him to show up, or for her to be stuck working. Ever since she had started working here it had been a pretty decent place, that was, until she was put on the floor instead of downstairs in the kitchen, or behind the bar in the games room. But tonight of all nights?
She sighed, gripping the kitchen dish towel as she sat on a short stack of boxes in the fridge cooler. Dana had walked in and found her there, she was nearly sobbing when she intruded. "What's the matter with you?" She asked in her southern belle tone. "Like I always say love...it's just a job." Helena shook her head no to the side a couple of times as the towel twisted in awkward positions by hands and moving arms. A fist holding it so tight had been held against her chest.
"No...." Whispered out in response to Dana. "It's not just a job." Still she shook her head before it stopped, Dana stopped looking for whatever it was she needed and knelt down to see her eye to eye, pulling up a box herself. "Well what's wrong darlin?"
A sob was given out and she explained to her the dilema. How she had met a man and he was too perfect....too good to be true even for her...there was no discussion about their encounter, just those words. Dana smiled but it wasn't enough. She mentioned Sevanni's name and Dana rolled her eyes and stood up rather rushed.
"Good lord girl. If I heard that name everytime I saw a girl cry...why I'd be a dead fool that's what I'd be." Helena sniffled, wiping her eyes and nose with the rag at opposing ends. "You best do whatever it is....unless you don't want a job here any more." Of course that was easy for her to say. Dana gave her blood out freely, shook her ass, went nude if given the chance.
Dana had gone without another word and Helena was stuck with no useful advice. Her job...or her dignity.
Helena was sneaky.....She had made sure to keep one glass in line with the request and another with someone elses that Sevanni had never tasted. If he had later on, who cared. At least he wasn't getting her's now.
Upon arriving she had made the tray gesturing to who would take what and of course after Sevanni grabbed his, she was relieved that Shaden had the other. A slit and healed wrist was better than a sliced off head. It was sneaky and of course deceitful, but she didn't care. She wasn't going to give him full satisfaction.
The awkward pause had been early apparent before she cleared her throat and stood to the side. He was going to ask her soon.
When he had she had tried to avoid contact with Shaden. No eyes to view his and feel like she was a hypocryte. She wasn't. Not once had she ever had to do what was currently asked of her. "Now.....I think she's ready...yes?"
She snickered, nearly snickered and looked away with a slight tilt of her head. It was so degrading. Maybe it was time for a change of scenery. A change of careers. She was still visibly young looking, she was quite brilliant, so why was she stuck here? Why was she in this place that paid her quite well, but the way of it was all wrong for her.
She stood there nearly blank, fingers had moved over the lower hem of her shirt, dancing there for a moment while thoughts trampled her brain. "Fuck! Fuck!" That's when she thought about that night and how wonderful she had felt being herself and not having to pretend everytime she saw him. Why pretend now? It was a fucking job that came a dime a dozen.
"I.....I can't....." She nearly sniffled a sob as tears threatened to leave ducts and fall over cheeks. "I can't do this." She turned halfway and clicked across the carpet, the palm of her hand smashing against the button before the doors slid open and she was gone. There was no way she had done it before, and she wasn't going to do it then either.
She had given Shaden something to remember her by on that night, hoping that he wouldn't falter to see her again, and understand why she did what she had. To let him know that Sevanni had not indulged in that which was her own blood but only he had. Even if Shaden hadn't been there, and it were another, there was no pheasable way that she could have done it. She wasn't going to belittle herself over some bribe.

There were several things Shaden had trouble dealing with. Which was why he never came to these types of clubs. The whole dancing thing... it bothered Shaden to no end. He was a gentlemen through and through. Helena's little uniform wasn't too bad, but it was right at the line. "Helena here...." Shaden did stay close to Sevanni as he walked, looking from him to Helena, and wishing things weren't about to go very bad. And they were. Shaden just knew it. "Helena doesn't like to give out home made samples, but this here.....this is something that I think you may enjoy." He didn't smile or add any little comment. He severely doubted Shaden would enjoy any of this.
Helena wouldn't look at him. He didn't blame her. Shaden looked away; his eyes caught two shot glasses on a glass tray filled to the top with liquid. "Sometimes the help has to be...pursuaded to help the host entertain." Normally, this was the point where Shaden would laugh and say "I bet they do." But that didn't happen. There was very little change in his expressionless face as he both watched and listened to Sevanni.
He was listened very carefully, reading in between the lines, hearing the things that Sevanni wasn't saying out loud but was saying nonetheless. Sevanni sat, and made the gesture for Shaden to sit in the other. Obviously. Shaden wasn't about to walk over and cuddle up with him. In fact, Shaden was very glad for that table separating the two chairs. He sat down, but didn't actually relax.
"Try this.....I'm sure you will find it....delectable." Those pauses in his sentience. They meant so much more then what it seemed. Shaden wanted to laugh, however, he kept his mouth closed. Why was Helena even here, in this room? He had the shot glass in his hand, holding it, debating on his next actions. Should he drink it? Or not? Sevanni had already finished his off. Shaden didn't care. Ah, Hell. He put the glass to his lips and downed it, loving the taste as it slid down his throat for the second time in his life. He lowered the glass now, starring at it like it was a vial thing. Sevanni should be honored, this was the first time Shaden had ever drank blood from a glass. Though he made no plans to ever to so again.
"Now.....I think she's ready...yes?" Shaden's head snapped up to look at him. Ready for what? The words never came out of his mouth and he turned to look at Helena. The moment she started to dance was the moment time seemed to slow. His mouth opened slightly in surprise, air rushing in and gasping so quietly there wasn't much of a chance of either of them hearing it. No... no not Helena. He couldn't watch this. His head turned away, his hand curled into a fist on his leg. Not Helena. It could have been anyone else besides her.
Shaden froze. It could have been anyone else. There were plenty of women around this club. But it had been Helena that was picked for this little task. Sevanni knew. Knew about him and Helena. There was no other explanation. Though it didn't make any sense that Sevanni would care about that. So why the blood, and dancing? There had to be a reason. Sevanni always had a reason.
"I.....I can't....." Shaden turned sharply toward Helena, and he was on his feet before her next words left her mouth. Of course she couldn't do this. And he was so damn happy she hadn't gone through with it. "Helena..." He had moved toward her but she went to the door and was gone by the time he got to it. The door closed. Shaden stood there for half a second before a chilling, bitter laugh was pushed past his lips. "My Sevanni, what an interesting little game you've set up here." The words were nearly a whisper, but he would hear.
Shaden moved, his steps silent as he walked behind Sevanni's chair, he stopped just to the side, and leaned down some, putting his hand on Sevanni's shoulder, "I'm going to tell you something that just might surprise you," He said, a small smile touching his lips, "I'm actually very intelligent." He chuckled softly, standing straight again and walking back to his own chair and sitting down, leaning back. "So with that in mind, I'd like to say that I think its complete bullshit that you think you need to go to such elaborate expenses just to find something out. Especially when you could have just asked." He sighed, looked around the room. He was pissed off, very pissed off. But this wasn't something he was willing to fight Sevanni over. They'd been down that road already. Never again would Shaden fight with Sevanni because of a women. In the end it just wasn't worth it.
"Do you know what I hate most about all this?" His tone was flat, and had a cold, bitter edge, "There was no need to involve Helena. And by the way, that's what finally let me understand that this was some test that you'd set up." Another smile, "So what did you threaten her with? Her life? My life?" He thought about that then shook his head, "No, you wouldn't do that. Not right now anyway." He added mostly to himself. Sevanni wasn't stupid. He seemed to want this little peace between them to continue just as much as Shaden did.
"Though I have to admit this whole thing was rather clever." His tone had lightened slightly. He couldn't stay pissed off with Sevanni. He just didn't want to be mad at him. He liked him too much. "There's one thing I have to ask though..." He smiled fully now, but he did finish just yet. He picked the shot glass back up, running his finger inside it, then put it to his mouth to lick off that small amount of blood. "Did I pass or fail your test? What did you find out that you needed to so damn badly?"

It was a whole scene. The shy little thing who had taken a position here couldn't do what most of the others could. There was no shame in what she was going to do, lets face it, she would move her ass in a sensual manor but she wasn't there to strip. Oh no. That would be just a little too unclassy. Even for his tastes. Vampires who enjoyed drinking from others of all kinds had a bit of a better imagination. It was too bad she chickened out like a scared little brat.
His eyes slit low as Shaden dared try to follow. Poor Helena and her sad little secrets. At least there was compassion shown, which nearly made that little smirk of his turn into a smile. "My Sevanni, what an interesting little game you've set up here." His hand was on Sevanni's shoulder and his eyes cut toward skin of his hand in disbelief that he had done it. An eye for an eye eh? You touch my shoulder I touch yours?Do unto others and blah, blah, blah. The way of the world shit was just as annoying as those fake litter laments who called themselves role players pretending to be what he was. Disillusion.
More words spilled out and Sevanni knew Shaden was no fool. Hell, the man shared a meal with him when he could have had both for himself. That was given all in it's self, but when you had so many vixens at home, it was a good idea to brace yourself and feed gradually. Sometimes it hurt to hold back from some of the mortals he encountered, but it had to be done if he was going to fight back for his own rights and beliefs. Fuck them and their rules.
"So with that in mind, I'd like to say that I think its complete bullshit that you think you need to go to such elaborate expenses just to find something out. Especially when you could have just asked." Fingers tapped along the edge of the arms of the chairs end, he turned to him after a short chortle. "Shaden, you're so paranoid.....I simply thought you would enjoy the nice little show....." He smirked, almost grinning. "It doesn't seem to look as though you would get further with her than I would with that nasty little agent roaming around interrogating my people." Damn he could sure use a cigar right now.
Mickey was making her way over to the boys but Sevanni had waved her off. "Do you know what I hate most about all this?" A rise of the eyes as he chinned up with a soft, "Hmmm?" Of course Shaden would think that his words reigned true. He hadn't done it to hurt him in any way, but it did turn out rather amusing. If Shaden wanted to come out of his mouth with speculation, Sevanni could do far more damage while his anger rose inch by inch.
"Though I have to admit this whole thing was rather clever." He was simmering, the anger lowering little by little. "There's one thing I have to ask though..." Pursed lips settled as he settled, his head turning to view Shaden once more after it had left his sights while the kettle was smoking. "Did I pass or fail your test? What did you find out that you needed to so damn badly?"
He let out a laugh. It lasted a couple of seconds and then a couple of seconds more. They were calm giggles that let you know he was rather amused. "I know that you are aware that everything I do has a purpose, and it doesn't matter....." His tone was calm, soothing. "
"I know about you and Helena. I knew from the moment you were seen running through the streets with her." A little snicker, but relief none the less. "I think you're being a fool about all of this.....but....if you want to go and let someone like her sink into your life, that's your choice." He was rather disgusted. It had been now where he would simply treat his girls how they should be treated. There was only one he was rather smitten with aside from Emi, but that was as far as it went. There was no falling in love to where you could feel a heartbeat.
Sure he loved Emi, he loved all his girls, but not like he would fall madly in love with them. Shaden would sink into Helena, it was certain of it.....But it was a waste of time and energy. He learned his lesson four times. This time it was going to run slow and take it's course. No more planning shit.
"I do not think that you are a fool...no.....no I wouldn't think that at all Shaden, but, I do think you should consider your options......even if you don't want to rise above.....there is always someone who looks up to you, and there are people who do look up to you." For instance, Sevanni had after that night in the rain. Word sparring in the streets before taking actual action. His jaw did look good. Perhaps it would be a good story over a human one night in the future. He'd never admit that he looked up to him. It wasn't as if he were some hero, but there was a line of respect that had been earned.

Shaden couldn't help the slight upturn to his lips at the sound of Sevanni's laugh. How rare it was that he really hard Sevanni be amused. Especially around Shaden. He was use to the anger he normally provoked in people. Even a reasonably calm person became irritated or angry at him. It was the usual for him. "I know that you are aware that everything I do has a purpose, and it doesn't matter....." Of course it doesn't matter. Just because Shaden was aware of what Sevanni might be doing didn't mean he'd stop. And frankly Shaden wouldn't want him to.
"I know about you and Helena. I knew from the moment you were seen running through the streets with her." Shaden rested his elbow on the armrest of the chair and leaned his hand against his hand. "And you care why........?" He was forcing back a smile. Honestly, why the Hell would Sevanni care if he was with Helena. "I think you're being a fool about all of this.....but....if you want to go and let someone like her sink into your life, that's your choice." Shaden straightened up, surprised. But he also felt the familiar spark of irritation growing.
So he was a fool now? And what was wrong with Helena? Was it really so wrong of him to try and find someone to be with. It would seem that everyone would be happier if he simply stopped trying to find love. No one understood him. No one cared about him. There was nothing wrong with wanting someone he could trust, and care for. But it appeared others thought it would be best if he was never happy. "So your just like the others, Sevanni? You would rather see me suffer and spend every waking moment alone?" His tone wasn't accusing, it was more... drained or wary. Like he'd gone over the same subject too many times before.
"If your worried I'll get to attached as I did with Aubrey, then you can stop worrying," He sighed softly, "If she leaves, at least this time I'll be more accustomed to the pain. It wont hurt as much." He was ashamed of how deeply he'd got himself attached to Aubrey. That had been so new to him; that feeling. Shaden would try very hard not to repeat the same mistake, but attachment was a part of who he was. He loved deeply and had a hard time letting go. It would take a long time to remove century's of thinking in such a short amount of time.
"I do not think that you are a fool...no.....no I wouldn't think that at all Shaden, but, I do think you should consider your options......even if you don't want to rise above.....there is always someone who looks up to you, and there are people who do look up to you." Shaden's eyes had started to wander back around the room, but at these words they came to look back at Sevanni, a sort of gleaming hope in them. Options? Shaden never really stopped to think much about his options. He tended to go with the flow of things. And what the Hell did Sevanni mean 'rise above?' He had to be imposable that Sevanni would even suggest something like that to him. To Shaden of all people.
And Sevanni had it all wrong, not that was his fault, Shaden would love nothing more then to, as Sevanni put it "rise above" but how the Hell was someone like him going to do that. It was an impossibility. Which is why Shaden lied to himself. He had lied to Sevanni to, that night when they'd stood in the rain. Shaden had told Sevanni there he didn't want to be a leader or anything, that it didn't matter to him. It only sounded like the truth because he'd lied to himself so many times before that. "What options Sevanni? And who would ever look up to me? I've never done anything. I can't even-" He shook his head, disbelief on his face. There was no way someone could ever look up to him.
