She continued to rustle around in her peaceful slumber. She quiet often was awoken with the sounds that filled her house, and the thoughts that plagued her mind for the many years to come. This opportunity only came 'once in a blue moon,' so they say. So she would keep her mind in this peaceful place for as long as she could. The only thing was, she could never dream. Well, you could possibly call it dreaming, but she called it nightmares. And that was the only thing she had. Relapses of her past, and whatever the future might bring to her. '....'
She awoke. The night sky still visible through the dreary clouds that covered her window. She didn't move, only kept her eyes on the paned windows. Watching as the clouds slowly crept by and passed from one window side, to the other. Suddenly, the moon flashed in between two of the clouds. The brightness made her wince. She watched for a few more minutes, distracting herself from the reality that was all around her. The clouds seemed to dance around the moon and she wished that she could be as graceful as the clouds were. She sat up in the pitch black room and leaned forward into the moonlight. Her careless features illuminated in the shadows of her corridor.
She drew the covers slightly over her body to the opposing side of her bed. She creased them down so that it wouldn't be as struggling to have to get back into bed. She swayed her body to the side and allowed her feet to dangle over the side of her bed. She rubbed her stressed eyes and reopened them to the darkness around her. She slowly stood, pressing her feet to the hardwood floor. Feeling the slight midnight breeze float in from her cracked open window. She started walking toward her door. It was Victorian style house, which would explain the heaviness of the door itself. She unlatched the lock and slowly creaked it open.
The brightness from the hallway made her eyes dilate. She must've forgotten to turn the light off. She winced once again and walked herself down the hallway and turned the corner to the rounding staircase. She adored it, the creativity about it, but at night, it was just another obstacle in her way. She flipped the light switch off and looked back down the hallway she had just came from. The only thing she saw in the darkness was the moonlight shining in from her window. She started down the stairs, careful to take one at a time, so she wouldn't fall again. She reached the bottom of the stairs at last and stepped onto the hardwood floor once again. She traveled into the kitchen and flicked on the light switch. The lamp flickered for a moment and then became a full blaze of light. She smiled slightly and looked around, as if she was expecting to see someone in her home. She went to the stove and took a pot out of the cabinet above it. She poured some water into the pot and placed it on the burner.
It started boiling and she took it off the burner and placed a tea bag into it. She stirred it for a while and then made a cup for herself. She took the cup and glided into the 'living room' while flicking off the switch to the kitchen. She reached a chair, she didn't remember being there before. But she sat down anyway, it was somewhere to rest, and that's just what she needed. She took a few sips of her tea in the darkness, and quiet all around her. She liked it, it made her get that 'someone is watching you' feeling. She drank the rest of her tea and sat it on the floor near her chair. She stood up abruptly and walked to the front door. The hardwood creaking along the floor as she reached the door. She placed her hand on the ancient golden plated handle and twisted it slightly to the right. Unlocking and opening it to the outside world.
She slammed it open and watched as it began to pour down rain outside of her house. She grinned and took a few steps out into the rain. She ran to the nearest dumpster and jumped upon the nearest building. She somewhat squatted on the roof and inhaled sharply to the night air. She smirked devilishly, "Now, I must fill this craving. The craving for....human blood."

Having nothing to do is a status that does not grow on a being.Even in the decades that he had strolled the earth, Daniel could not find a way to befriend the concept of liking this boredom. There was simply no getting around it. When one has eternity, it is difficult to just...always be entertained. However, the immortal had begun to notice that when he mixed company with others, there was slight fluctuation in the type of boredom, and in this case more to think about than the sound of his own breathing. A clatter broke him of the mild train of thought, and as the cerulean gaze of the shadowy cadavre twitched up in the general direction of origin he honed on this fellow...vampire. The word left a ringing loneliness in his skull, and negated the adjective before it; there are no felllows for the lost. Just others who may have a vague inclination towards what he too suffered from. Brows ascended at the sultry terminology murmured past this new stranger's lips, and a chuckle sounded. The tone was deep, and rumbled in his throat - a soft masculine tone nearly drowned out by Mother Nature's cleansing droplets and their swarthy downpour. That made two times this week Daniel had gotten soaked to the bone through his clothing. And it seemed both for the sake of meeting someone and conversing. Shaking his head, he made mental note that three times would not be a charm and he should attempt to find a better place to meet and greet.
Still...this opportunity had already presented itself. And in the back of his mind he had decided he would begin a coven. Yes, a gathering of followers but more a companionship. Daniel was less concerned about who got to make the rules, just so long as they weren't the irritating belligerent sort that everyone had some sort of problem with. Still, he would require other immortals for this..."Hello." The word was enunciated in a rugged baritone, but mustered in a way that was almost gentle. It was a greeting. A tender acknowledgment of the blond's existance. A faint, cautious smile was endowed her, incisors glinting in the wan light. "Going out for a stroll?" He ventured, rhetorically of course, he knew exactly where she was headed...or what her intentions were. It was a fine evening for hunting, the rain was not too thick to wander through, but quiet enough to drown out a muffled scream. She had chosen well. Daniel himself prefered blood in a deep red wine glass, it was simply more civilized that way and offered him the idea that while he was a monster, he was in control for the most part and that eased the burden of his servitude. "Mind if I tag along?" He inquired, not a fan of those awkward pauses and introductions that seemed to follow a close ended greeting, and that was what he had offered her. A pedestrian salutation, perhaps the most common...internally he chastised himself. C- in originality, Daniboy.

She stiffened, feeling another presence besides her own. She arose and turned slightly. "Hello". Lucy herself, wasn't that fond of meeting new people, but that was the only way for someone like her to be acknowledged in this world. And if a tag along was something to get her started, then that's what it would be. The question was surprising and she nodded slowly, even though he obviously knew what she was doing. She tweaked her head to the side, eying the options she had for the evening. There wasn't much, but it would have to do. She wasn't the pickiest of eaters, but she didn't want some contaminated 'thing'.
She turned back around once more. "Sure, I don't mind. Just something to take into consideration, I always get the screamer." She was very violent at times with her food. Liked to 'play' with it first. Make them suffer. But, never fully killed. Only on special occasions would she ever do that. No, just leave enough fluid in them to keep them... somewhat alive. She took a few steps and glanced at one person. A teenage girl, alone, not paying attention to the world around her. Lucy snickered silently, and took action. She wasn't one to be patient for anything.
She walked at somewhat a fast pace to the girl and took grip of her arm and a near by bystander. She slammed the bystander against the brick wall and creaked her head to the side. "Here, either you can have him, or I will." She took the girl once more on the opposing side of the wall. She tilted her head back and smirked. "You know, maybe you shouldn't be walking around this late. Something dangerous might happen." She laughed again and gripped both of her hands and slammed them into the wall. The girl screamed in agony and Lucy flashed her incisors and sunk them deep into the girls neck. Taking in the screams and the fine wine also. She pushed her arms forward, digging her hands into the girl's and securing her against the wall. She drank to her allowance and released just as the screams were dying. She left go and watched as the girl fell to the ground.
Lucy wiped her mouth with her wrist and picked the girl up and sat her deeper into the alleyway. She returned to the opening and glanced over at the man she had just made acquaintances with. "Violence is my 'Strong suit', if you haven't guessed already."

This was hardly the encounter Daniel had internally prepared himself for, and a quiet sigh resounded from deep within his throat. Pupils minimized to crescents and the immortal doggedly wandered after her, a brow ascended at the tactics that the she utilized. Words he had spoken to Faith rang in his skull, predatory. A quiet smile curled the outermost seams of his labrums...but he couldn't think of Faith right now. There was nothing human that Conteo could connect with when it was the monster he had to be, any link to the outside world had to be severed for him to become what he most despised and what he truly was. Palms clenched at his sides and the scents began to flood his nasal cavity. Flesh, and dirt and humans. That was what the citadel brought him. Incisors clicked against the lower enamel and a growl bubbled within his throat Each and every slender ribbon of sinew grew taut in wait for what it new was coming. The target that the female chose wasn't surprising and probably came from an ebbing hatred for herself at that age. A smirk was cast in her general diection, and skull was shaken at the prospect of self loathing.
The technique she illicited was sad at best, everywhere at once there was little grace simply a bunch of scrambling, at this Daniel hissed in disdain. Having eased reticently to the mongrel who would be his dinner companion for the evening a cold sneer crept over his countenance as he leaned into the smooth heated skin of the quivering victim. Articulations gripped his appendages and clenched around his triceps, snapping the muscles from the bone. The keening wail of the mortal split the night, skull tossed back against the brick only for the back of Daniel's palm to slap across his features, tossing his cranium over to the side only to be grabbed by the hair and tugged upright again. A slow, devilish smirk crept over the vampire's countenance, and a murmured goodbye was voiced before it dove at his serpentine and reveled in the carnage to be found at the jugular. Crimson touched his lips and trickled down his own neck but at this point Daniel was byoned care or worry, simply clutched the newly made corpse before allowing it to crumple to the ground. A sinister, satisfied smiile creasing his labrums as he stepped over the mutilated soul to lean against the architecture. Much better. He had not realized it had been such a long time since his last feed. Oh well.

Lucy looked down at her wrists, still stained red from the girl's cuts. She was very, impatient with the art of feeding. She had that problem for a while. Not letting the victim suffer, only making their suffering easier on them. Not her. People had attempted to change her, make her more 'elegant' at it. She flinched at the thought. She looked back up at the man and looked down the street that was only a few paces away. She assumed no one was there. Who would be out this late, wandering the streets? She looked back at the girl, still lying motionless on the wet pavement next to the dumpster. Well, she had just found one. She sighed and took slow and effortless steps toward the other vampire.
She glanced down at the other motionless body next to the wall. "Nice work." She murmured. The rain had stopped, she guessed, sometime during her feeding. She glanced up at the building she had ventured from and looked at the Victorian styled door that she had forgotten to close. She snarled at the fact that she could've been so idiotic and quickly shoved the thought away. Lucy returned her gaze back to the body on the ground. She had never learned to feed like that. She had never even seen someone else feed like that, until tonight. She couldn't help but to look at the man. He had somewhat of a mysterious personality about him. The kind that made you want to find out more, but then again, be afraid that if you did, you would end up in some kind of danger. She stared for a few more minutes and then shook her gaze. "Pardon my ignorance."
Her eyes flickered from the once blood red, to the newly fed bright Grey, almost translucent. She looked across the street again, trying to hide that they were in fact switching back. She brushed her hands against her jeans and slowly stretched out her hand. "I'm Lucy, Lucy Kartreight..." She wasn't the best at meeting new people. And when she attempted to, it always ended badly. Just the way it had with her and Rose. But hopefully, she could get on the good side with someone like her.

No matter where he went it seemed that Daniel was getting drenched these days. The realization was brought into being within moments of the precipitation detiorating. A brow ascended at the affirming words offered by the blonde female, pensive stare ticking up towards the soul without any further expression. No words were endowed, only a silence....A regarding look. The exquisite features of the immortal facing him disclosed uncertainty, interest and apprehension Scared, my pet? For a moment he was almost amused...almost. For the most part, Daniel was satiated and now wanted nothing more than to lie down and rest...comfortable with himself at the present time. The introduction was somewhat unnecessary - presently Conteo didn't care who this was. A dining buddy. But mannerisms demanded he say something in rebuttal and so he too wiped a palm on his trousers and offered it to her, delivering a firm yet brief shake. "Daniel Conteo." It was murmured softly and in a tone similar to silk; liquid and pure. Purely alluring and yet it was dangerous....forbidding.
All pleasantries aside Dani was a very dangerous sort of fellow...when he so desired. Luckily for Lucy here, he was at ease. A good strategy, hers, feeding him before trying to establish a connection. He was less irritable when he was full and contented. "Shall we go close your door, Ms. Kartreight?" He ventured amusedly, having guessed the source of her irritation. Clearly it swung on its hinges, to and fro as the breeze gusted. Her floor would probably be wet if they weren't to close it before the rain began again.Stepping over the crumpled remains of his victim, he indicated the way and awaited her motion, a sinister smirk curling his aperture though surprisingly no ill will was intended. Odd. Wasn't that how relations with bad people went? Bad people here took the meaning of predator. And predator he was. Then again so was she. But he got the distinct feeling they were different sorts. He killed when absolutely necessary, she killed out of anger and frustration and a morbid sense of humor. Clearly polar opposites of eachother.
ooc: apologies for the length. i'm dead tired. xD

Lucy nodded. Slowly. He didn't seem as the usual person to be 'polite' to a new acquaintance. Just something about him, made her want to keep her guard up. She stepped over the body laying lifeless on the pavement and began walking, swiftly. "So, if you weren't looking for a dining experience, then what were you doing out this late. If you don't mind my asking." She peered over at him, making little eye contact at all. He didn't seem like someone that went for the kill often. When she, well, that was mostly all she ever did. People mostly called it taking advantage of her power, but she just used it for something to do. Nothing more. Nothing less.
She walked up to the Victorian door and looked at the hardwood floor that was drenched from when she had originally opened it. "Damnit." She shrugged it off. A towel would eventually lift up the water that had gathered there. She pulled the door closed and stepped down from the slight step. She pulled out a lighter and a smoke from her pocket. Yes, she knew that the nicotine that was there wouldn't have an affect on her. She simply carried over the habit from when she was still mortal. Just the act, well, it kept her occupied. She stuck the smoke in the corner of her mouth, lit, and took a drag. Not aware that the scar from her encounter with Rose was now illuminated by the moon, yet again.
The numerous encounters with her, made her more vulnerable to more and more permanent scars on her flesh. She laid her arm back down to her side and looked past where the dining had happened that evening. The girl that she had feasted on had rose, slowly, but she still rose. She wearily stumbled down the street and Lucy chuckled to herself. She loved the amusement of other people. She loved getting into quite the predicament herself. It enthralled her. She smirked yet again and looked up at the other vampire. He was very different than her, but there was something about him that Lucy herself couldn't figure out.

Perhaps it was the way she moved as if he was an explosive, guaranteed to go off at any given time, that made Daniel amused with the entire situation. Maybe it was because he had never really considered himself dangerous. Mostly because he knew some that were dangerous, and he truly did not fit the category. Whatever her reasoning, Daniel was in no mood to set her straight with some obvious logistics. To be frank, she was far more given to be dangerous. She obviously had little to no control of herself. Dani? He was all about the control. In fact it was that perhaps that made him so frightening, simply because…well…he could do and be whatever he wanted, mostly because…that meant he knew something that no one else seemed to have any knowledge of…so what was it? The answer would have to wait it seemed, her inquiry coaxing an entertained expression. ”Sleep seems superfluous.” He murmured casually, a shrug orchestrating his dismissive thoughts on the idea.
Trailing at a reasonable distance, he caught the slight profanity and smirked at her irritation. Apathy was yet another strength he had encountered. He didn’t care if the floor was wet, his or hers. Watching her light up coaxed a brow to rise, again quite bewildered with the weakness shown here. Yes, smoking, in Daniel’s opinion was a sign of dependence on an outside agent, and this one happened to be addictive. These were the sort of people who were easily manipulated. That’s right kitten…I could make you fold yourself into a pretzel. Watching her smoke, Dani remained absolutely silent for a bit, watching as Lucy too watched her victim. His own dinner would never rise again. Yes, Daniel killed people. And then held no remorse for what he’d done. Folding his arms over his torso once again, his brow ascended involuntarily and he smirked thoughtfully. ”And that makes you feel good?” He didn’t truly understand the excitement people got from other less intellectually inclined people. Honestly. There were stupid people everywhere. Old jokes weren’t funny…what made old news funny? How absolutely boring

She narrowed her gaze. The acts that some people portrayed often set her off edge. Just the repulsive things that they did to other people. She looked up at him once again. Being short was one of her... misleading... qualities. She was all of four feet and ten inches. But that height gave her other advantages that were only known to her. "Sometimes." She took another drag and blew it upward, toward the trees. "It's mostly just an act, call it what you wish. Idiotic. Repulsive. I'm aware." She looked away, down toward her feet, and shuffled them. A meaningless gesture, but it cleared the thought that she had to do something.
She took a few steps past him, onto the sidewalk. More into the public than she had expected. She flicked her ash into the street and peered over at him. He had something that he was going to say. The past few moments he always did. She finished her smoke and flicked that into the street as well and stomped on it. She couldn't help herself but to look down the seemingly never ending street and watch as all of the streetlights began to flicker. The flashback of her last encounter with Rose engulfed her mind for what seemed like hours. She snarled slightly and glared at Daniel. She had nothing against him, well at least nothing yet. Just the thought of another person doing those things made her want to go off the deep end.
"You know, if I'm boring you too much, you're more than welcome to leave." She took her hand and ran it through her hair, almost an attempt to regather herself from the impulsing thoughts screaming through her head. She looked down and plopped down on the sidewalk. Yes, it was wet. But she had reached the stage where she didn't really give a rat's ass about it any longer. She looked up yet again, wondering if he was still there, or he had vanished, just a quick as he had came.

A faint smirk curled the outermost seams of the vampire’s aperture at the swift defensive response of his counterpart. The tone did not speak of apathy, quite the opposite actually and Daniel was intrigued by the concept by such a strong seeming individual could be set off so easily. A firecracker. He mused with no absence of laughter, internal mirth you understand, his features devoid of any such expression. ”You assume quite a bit. I never said the word repulsive.” It was murmured matter-of-factly, and haphazardly, he felt it unnecessary to try to change the way she felt about how he looked at her. That was her own battle to fight and he would sooner stay out of it. Observing her progress on the sidewalk, beryl stare seemed trained upon her profile, waiting for some sort of response to the speech he had conjured.
The reply he did receive was far out of turn – a snarl of animosity, the glazed look in her expression disclosing that it had not really been meant for him, but a demon she internally battled. To be honest it seemed more and more bloodsucking folk had that very issue these days. He pitied them these memories and bad encounters. Call him a coward but he had left those far far away from where he was now. Honestly, I would deem that sheer genius, despite questionable bravery. He was freer than most. The prospect that he may be bored with her coaxed a dry laugh, a sound that was rich and warm and a breath of fresh air in the dank atmosphere. Seeming to dismiss him, an amused expression was cast down at the spritely creature before he joined her on the damp asphalt.
Holding his palms in his lap, he chuckled once again, shaking his head in a reflective fashion. ”I’m not the least bit bored, actually, but if you’d like me to I’ll take my leave.” It was a mannerly offer, and frankly unnecessary – chivalry was less dead than he was and he made certain of that. Despite whatever assumptions she may have made through his manifestations or her projections, Daniel did not mean to cause harm or disrupt her existence. If that were the case she would be far more disturbed at present. The current state Conteo was in was very measured and mild mannered, almost to the point of fault. He doubted anyone but Basset or Evelyn could coax a snarl from him at present. Those two simply knew what made him tick. Though the former was easy; werewolves. He despised them.
That last bit was more ironic than not as he had current interest in a certain blonde werewolf gardener. What a stupid job for a werewolf to have. I mean really, how unfitting. ”Is that what you do for fun? Kill people and smoke?” Realizing that that probably sounded very rude, he frowned and cleared his throat. ”I mean, did you always have such a morbid sense of fun? I’m nothing like I was like before…So I just assume everyone changes..” Shrugging, he sighed, glad he felt less aggravated at his error than he had initially been. I mean what a thing to say.

"Just making the offer. I've been known to bore people often." She trailed off, "Either that or piss them off." She met his gaze as he sat beside her and laughed. "Not always. Just recent happenings have set me, aside, from what I usually do." She dropped her gaze and flipped her forearm so the first scar she had obtained was facing up. "Things like these.... Make me how I am now." She flipped her arm back around and folded it across her lap. "But, other than that..My idea of fun.. isn't the same as other people's." She set her gaze across the street to an abandoned apartment building.
Her mind began wandering yet again. Somewhat of retracing its steps from her first run in with Rose. How she started off as a nice person and then began somewhat shape shifting into the devil herself. Then the on going encounters with her, they never seemed to cease. But the most recent one, wasn't as bad as she originally planned it was going to be. Then again, they were centered around other people. She shook her head slightly and her mind drifted back into reality. She really hated zoning out, especially if she was in the presence of another person. She thought it was rude, mostly because the other person would be trying to talk to her and she had no idea what was going on.
She looked at Daniel and flickered her eyes to the nearest building. She rose suddenly and ran, in a flash, to the nearest dumpster. From there she leaped onto the neighboring building and ventured over to the ledge facing him. "Hmm, how about some fun? Wanna race?" She no longer wanted to have her mind wander, and some fun for her, would only do her good at this point. After all 'All work and no play, makes Lucy a dull girl.'

The dismissive fashion to which the blonde treated his response induced the arch of a brow but no verbal rebuttal from the immortal. His cerulean gaze orchestrated a silent sweep of the nearby scenery though it was not exactly a laid back look. Paranoid he was not but Conteo was perpetually vigilant, due to experience more than anything else. The female was quite enthralled with her inner musings, but spoke again – to her credit. ”What do you mean it isn’t like everyone else’s? I wasn’t aware there was a commonality in entertainment these days.” A boyish, crooked grin announced itself on the vampire’s rugged countenance, but of course there was no real need for such a thing.
The sudden motion caught the immortal off guard, a quiet brow rising slowly at the fashion in which her demeanor changed. It was odd but then females had a tendency to be like that. Chuckling thoughtfully to himself, her seriously pondered turning and vanishing and leaving her to her games. But then he too would be bored and she would be disappointed - not that he cared remotely what she felt, but still he may as well partake in what little amusement this may offer. Leaping in the direction she had jumped off in, he lunged before scaling th wall himself and climbed over the edge of the balcony to stare reticently at the platinum female. A brow ascended in a daring fashion, lips twitching with mirth. "Certainly." It was a single simple word of little interest but then that hardly mattered.
He did not give her much time to think over her acceptance but lunged ahead, swinging over the siding only to vault to the next building. They were racing without knowledge as to what the destination was and that was perfectly fine. Holding onto the sill of a window while he stood on the ledge of the one below it, he swung there and peered back in the direction of her before he jumped and finally swung up higher onto the five story building and crept til he reached the roof, pausing to wait for her. Leaving her in the dust was a bore - competition was fun enough.

Lucy swung forward also, gripping the top of the window instead of the sill. He tiny, muscular body wasn’t the best for climbing, but she made due. She heaved herself up and jumped yet again until reaching the top of the building. “Eh, well the people I seem to make contact with, have a more morbid sense of humor than I’m a custom to.” She flashed a crooked smile and ran, to the opposing ledge of the building and leapt off. She landed on a shorter, much shorter building than she expected it to be.
She squatted down onto the building as she landed, preparing herself for an impact. And maybe even possibly annoying the people inside. She didn’t really care if it was an apartment structure or not. She highly doubted that option though. There were enough apartments around this area than normal. She rose and turned back around to face him. Just because she was small, didn’t mean she didn’t have speed or agility. She stared for a moment and looked back the way she was headed. She didn’t know where to head next. I’ll just wing it. No harm in that.
She ran to the edge and jumped off, landing on another dumpster. Making quiet a commotion. She hopped off of it and walked to the next alleyway. Hopefully, Daniel was paying attention. She was known for leaving people behind in games such as these. She entered into the alley and hopped onto another dumpster. god, How many fucking dumpsters are in this town anyway?! She hopped up onto a ledge and climbed up to the roof of the next building. She stood on the absolute edge of the building, and plopped down. She watched him, like a hawk so to speak. Seeing if he could keep up with her. It was fun to race other people, especially if they had as much energy as she did.
