Note: please, before posting in this thread, take a second to read the description of the club and the rules of the club. If you break a rule, or if you're human and show up unescorted you will be escorted from the club.[/b] [atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,false][cs=0][bg=000000] The day had finally come, after many long months of turning that club space completely inside out, it was time for the grand opening. Inora was finally going to see her friends again, they’d all promised to come for the opening and she hoped that she wouldn’t be disappointed. Things had all finally fallen into place. The bartenders had been hired and were even more impressive than Inora had hoped, they were able to do all the bartending tricks out there. The bouncers had been imported like Nic had suggested, they were big burly guys who could get their job done but who had turned out to be huge sweethearts, constantly testing Nic’s patience by playfully flirting with Inora. In reality, the bouncers were more like her new big brothers. They’d taken care of everything, every room was stocked and set up exactly as they’d planned, everyone was in position and it was time to open.
Inora walked along the long white hallway that was the entrance to the club, she’d come from the inside, passing the two bouncers placed there. Two more bouncers would be at the door at the end of this hallway, leaving four more bouncers to circulate inside the club and keep the peace. Her boot heels clicked on the floor and she smiled down at the beautiful dress that she’d chosen to wear for the night. She looked up right before she walked headlong into the door that led to the staircase to the surface. She blushed and opened the door, not looking back in response to the laughter emanating from behind her.
The staircase wasn’t very long and she soon emerged into the ugly interior of the broken down warehouse. Two bouncers walked around the interior, not guarding the door to the staircase, simply acting as if they were night guards of some sort. They would escort any vampires or werewolves that came in to the staircase, but any humans that appeared would be led away and sent home. Inora smiled at them and walked over to the huge doors that guarded the warehouse’s entrance. She pushed, shoved, heaved and finally managed to get one of the doors open. The other flew open at the simple touch of one of the bouncers. He smiled at her and nodded at her to let her know that everything was set.
Inora blushed again and literally ran back down to the club itself. People would show up any minute now and she wanted to be in the club, ready to mingle and to descend on her friends when they arrived. Nic should be around somewhere, though she hadn’t seen him since they’d arrived. Things had been awkward between them since her dream and she almost found herself thinking that he’d somehow known. But of course, that was impossible, the awkwardness must have simply stemmed from her new-found knowledge that she loved him. Thank god Ali would be here tonight, Inora could possibly talk to her about this development, Ali would know what to do. Ali would be able to help her.
The club was pounding with music already and the lights flashed beautifully. The bartenders hustled along behind their station, back in the individual werewolf and vampire rooms the other bartenders were getting ready as well. Everything was going smoothly so far. Hopefully it would continue through the night.

[atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,false][cs=0][bg=000806] New Orleans. She hadnt been here in a while. Not since....She didnt even know if she could say his name in her own head. Let alone out loud. It was like Rose with Anthony. Ali loved her husband Vic dearly, but she always wondered what had happened to her first werewolf love. Even if Landon ever did somehow appear in her life again, she would never leave Vics side. She had found the person she wanted to be with for all eternity. And they had all eternity to stay together. But one of her friends, the only one who was a werewolf currently, did not have eternity like the rest of them. Which was why Vic had let her go in the first place. And he also knew how exciting this trip alone would be for her. This day had been in a long time in waiting and it had finally come. The opening night for the club that her, Nix, Nora, and Rose had all created. She wondered if they all would show up tonight. She hadnt seen them all in ages.
The last time she had seen Rose, she had been a little off her rocker. But she hadnt heard from Nix. And that was starting to worry her a bit. However, she wasnt going to let those dark thoughts dampen her mood. They were going to be there tonight damn it. They had all promised and so they better show up. Or else she was going to hunt them down and drag their scrawny butts here. It was guaranteed though that Nora would be there. Her little blonde wolfy friend was living there in New Orleans in hiding. It was by direct orders from all three of her friends. They were keeping her hidden. And of course, with a body guard. Why go through all of this trouble? Because they werent going to let anything happen to Nora ever again when it came to Sevanni Black. And if he ever touched her again, Ali herself would kill the bastard, contract be damned. She had found a loophole anyway. Apparently, Sev hadnt.
All these thoughts crowded her mind as she sat there on the plane. She had a window seat and so she could see the coast and the little beaches and all the city lights. She had timed the take off from London perfectly so she could get here when the club opened and of course, when the sun wasnt up in the sky. Ali didnt feel like being burnt to a crisp any time soon. Plus, she was sure her friends wouldnt approve. Sometimes being a vampire was a real pain in the ass. Wait..what was she talking about? Being a vampire was always a pain in the ass and she wished she was human again. She missed the sunlight and being able to be normal. But her life would never again be normal. She might as well make the best of what ever life threw at her. Roll with the punches. And she had been very good at doing so.
When the plane landed she stepped off and since she had no luggage with her or carry on bags she was able to leave the airport rather quickly. Once sh stepped out of those doors and breathed in the salty humid air she felt a sigh or pleasure leave her lips. She had always loved that smell and it came with good memories. Of little races and laughter and everything good and gentle. She glanced around to make sure no one was around her and then a grin spread across her pale lips and she took off running at vampire speeds. She knew exactly where the club was and she had no problem with just running there. She loved the running, feeling the wind through her hair, keeping it from smacking her in the face and of course the speed. Racing by people who had no clue what had just passed them. It was the greatest feeling in the world and it was probably the only thing that she enjoyed about what she was.
She had to laugh though as everywhere she ran she could hear werewolves and vampires talking about After Life. The new club that was making its grand opening tonight. She had a feeling it was going to be a busy night. But that was fine by her. It would mean good things for them if the club stayed in business and didnt just poof out of existence. And not many clubs were for just vampires and werewolves. She had done some research and she realized that they were the only one in New Orleans. The next closest one was in New York. New Orleans was a party city though, so this would be a big thing for the creatures that wanted to have some drinking and dancing fun. But those creatures better be on their best behavior or they would be thrown out for reasons of fighting. That wouldnt be tolerated. If her four friends and her could get along, so could they.
The only cautious thing they had was about humans. They didnt want them to get killed and eaten alive in this place seeing as the vampires and werewolves would be running instincts. Vampires for blood lust and the wolves on lust alone. It was amazing how much of your control could slip away when you were dancing and sweaty and packed tight against other bodies that were just as sweaty and the smell of the area could drive any supernatural being insane. As she drew closer to the spot of the club she smiled when she spotted the line of people waiting to get in. To any normal passer by they would look like they were standing in a line that lead to no where. And that was exactly their point. The club was perfect and she couldnt wait to see what all of their hard work had pulled off. During the days of construction she had come and visited once. She knew some of the staff and of course she knew Nora and Nic.
Passing by the bouncers outside of the door and the long line of people she winked at them and they just chuckled. They knew who she was and so had no problem with her cutting in line to get inside. The pounding music had started up and she closed her eyes, feeling the beats vibrating through her entire body and she smiled. It was amazing and as she walked even more down the hall to the second set of doors where the actual club was she felt herself get excited. This was it. Opening the doors she was surprised to see the large amount of people inside already. They were all packed together and dancing and singing along to the music. Others were at the bar and drinking and she could see some vamps going off to the feeding lounge. It was beautiful and she couldnt help but smile. Everything was working perfectly so far. The lights, the music, the drinks. But that wasnt her main focus.
Walking along the back of the wall, she let her dark brown eyes scan the crowd quickly, looking for the different forms of her friends. Finally after a moment or two she spotted Nora over by the bar. She seemed pleased with the opening and with a grin she made her way through the crowd and over to her friend. "Nora lovie!" She called happily above the music, her voice clear and with Inoras wolf hearing she should be able to hear her with no problem at all. Ali wrapped her arms around the blonde wolf tightly and hugged her in a gentle way. She didnt want to crush her friend. "My gosh I have missed you! Wow deary, you look fantastic!!" She told her, looking over the dress that Nora had on. Then she looked at herself. She was dressed in her normal fashion, black jeans, a black tank top and her mothers locket around her neck with a fedora hat perched perfectly on the top of her head and on top of her abundance of brown curls.
"I have to say, I think even Rose would be jealous of that dress. You look stunning. And Im sure others appreciate it as well." She said and winked at Nora, giving a passing glance to Nic who she had spotted a little earlier, right before she spotted Inora. She was of course teasing, not knowing about what all had gone on here in the middle of the New Orleans heat and what her little friend had said and done and what help she would need from her. "Are any of the others here? Or am I the first to show up?" She asked her. Normally, she had a bad tendency to be late and so if she was the first one here, she would be stunned.

Rose was a traveler. She’d been to almost every country in the entire world. Germany, Italy, Moscow, Milan, Paris, Australia, name it, she’d more than likely been there and owned something from there. Ahh, the perks of being an heiress. Flipping her long, blond hair over one shoulder, she headed up the way to the warehouse that would become Inora’s club. Her shaded face, would keep her well hidden, since she was still admired by a few. Carefully angling between her and the doorway; and the fragile box she carried, she made her way, to Inora and Ali by their scents. It’d been a few months since she’d seen them last, and even then, her little birdie was going cuckoo. And since then, she’d considered herself to be slightly more normal then when she or anyone else had seen her. She smiled at some busying staff; bartenders and such. None of them had seen her before, nor would they even recognize her. The bug-eyed glasses, and leather hat, hiding her lovely features. The black and white horizontally striped dress that clung to her shoulders, with horizontal little tears, on top of a black one piece body suit that looked like a bathing suit. Knee high leather boot, and man, did she look hot enough to just eat.
Oh, who the hell was she kidding? She was faking just about everything now. Faking every gesture, smile, laugh, friendliness. Right now, all she wanted to be was at a certain werewolf’s gravesite. The anniversary of Anthony’s death, was two days ago. And Rose had to literally pull herself together on the jet ride down to New Orleans, or else she’d be a total wreck. But her acting skills had been perfected, and no one could possibly see through her façade. Smoothing her hair once more, she saw her two loves with each other, both looking stunning.
Rose just hoped someone didn’t end up pissing her off the wrong way, or everyone might end up dead...
“Hmm, a little off Ali.” She smiled, as she barely caught the sentence off of Ali, saying how she’d even be jealous of that outfit. “I don’t have the body or legs for it, so I wouldn’t go near it.” She held Inora’s arms in her hands, giving her a quick once over. “But Inora here..she looks hot.” She winked, bumping her small hips to Ali’s, “As do you my dear.” She set the black box out in front of her, twitching her upturned nose. “I have gifts!” She barely glimpsed at the man werewolf, for fear of losing herself in a black hole.
Inora must have specifically asked for him..
Flipping open the tabs, she pulled out four headsets; equipped with microphones, and a radio that connected all four main workers to one satellite. Handing several out in front of each person, she tilted her head to the side, meeting each pair of eyes (even the male werewolf). A void widened inside of her, but she swallowed it, only letting a sliver of breakage cross over her eyes, as she swept them and the hat off, revealing her world known face. “This place looks amazing, it turned out so nice.” She smiled, kissing her friend on the right cheek, looking for some sign of relief.
Anything that could and get her mind off of Anthony, peering around, her eyes trailed on workers shuffling by. Oh, the void just widened. “Uh...” her mind trailed off, grasping at thin air for something to say. “When do we get to work?” Rose smiled her chagrin widening. “And who’s this..Man, you’ve seemed to have bought along?” Her neck stuck out a little bit, with her choice of the word ‘man’. More like ‘wolf man’. But you wouldn’t see it in her sparkling crystal eyes, oh no. You’d have to cut her down, break her to the bone, before she ever revealed what was going on inside of her. And that would be hell of a job in itself.
She peered around, before busing herself with switching the headsets on all the same signals, something to do, something to change her thought process. “They’re all on the same frequencies, so we’re constantly in touch. Meaning, unless you turn it off, everyone will hear everything you say.” She pointed to the microphone, “I had these specially made for us, so that we can speak in low voices, without being heard. Because you know..We’re vampires and werewolves.” She then bit her lip, realizing a technical mistake. “Um, is it only us working, or main workers...Or are there others?”
Oh, the void had certainly shrunken, but damn, it was still there.

[atrb=width,435,true][atrb=border,0,false][cs=0][bg=0f0f0f] It was dark outside. The juncture in time between sunset and actual night. Of course this fact was difficult to discern from Dominic Theos’ current vantage point. He was standing on the second floor, a private administrative area where he could easily scope out precisely what was going on at any given moment. Naturally there was a room, down the hall, where all the video camera feeds were sent so if he so chose he could have holed up in there for the evening. What seemed to have gone overlooked was that while Theos had no hand in the ownership of this establishment it was as much his creation as anyone else’s at this point. Perhaps the initial inspiration for it had not been his to give, but he had been a help in making it a reality. But as the hype stirred and the women grew anxious with anticipation for its prosperity he humbly backed away and had assumed a quiet role. He served his purpose…or purposes as it were, but from a slightly murkier place. In his left ear chimed the scheduled reports from the security points, the mention of a certain blonde vampire outside inducing a small smirk. Rose Decumbrey was one of Inora’s friends or “lovies” as they called each other and upon arrival had positively insisted that she be head or at least a strong part of the security. And had voiced it at some point in the past months.
Naturally she had not been briefed on procedure before this night and was not outfitted with the company weapons. Still, he had graciously allowed her to feel welcome to offer any sort of help she saw fit. A vampire on their side could not hurt if she had the best intentions in mind. Of course if she flew off the handle they’d get some bad publicity. This concern he had stopped himself from raising to Inora when Decumbrey had first posed the command. That being said, Inora was a high priority this evening. With so many beings crowded in to the same space Dominic was on high alert. He was constantly checking where she was, and while the personnel had not been told to look for any person in particular Nic had made it perfectly clear that should anything be stirred or a fight be initiated she was to be escorted as far away from it as possible. He wanted her to enjoy her club’s grand opening but it wasn’t worth her life. His lips pursed at the thought of such an instance and his features grew more austere, seeming older in his serious demeanor. The air around the couple had been a bit off for the past week or so and that he blamed himself for. He wasn’t entirely certain what was to be done as far as Inora Makani went. Naturally the wolf had a simple answer, but instinct wasn’t enough to initiate action as far as relationships went. He was too keen on starting it right.
And then there was the fact that with the club opening so soon it would be too overwhelming to try to hold up a newly budding union and the business. Moreover should they start dating he would have to find a place to live other than with her and until he was positively certain she was safe on her own he could not bring himself to entertain the thought of moving even a household away. Down the hall he could hear what was going on in her room to some degree, decipher the activity, across a yard not so much. Shaking his head, the werewolf pulled himself away from his troubled musings with a sigh, piercing stare waltzing over the various heads until they found the particular topaz one he was constantly seeking. There she was. With Ali Ambrose and Rose Decumbrey no less. Ali was going on about something that Nic could obviously not hear and Rose was countering, but the trio seemed pleased and that was all that mattered at present. Ali’s gestures suggested they were talking about Inora’s dress and Dominic himself had only positive feedback for the attire. He himself was garbed in something far less inviting and far more intimidating (at least as far as who you would want to pick a fight with). He was sporting a black Armani suit, a white shirt with the top button left undone and his hair as it always was. In the spirit of celebration he’d left the tie out – he was always happier when it wasn’t tugging at his neck. Of course, the golden cross that was always around it lay lightly against his chest, just peeking into view from within his shirt.
He’d spent most of the day prepping the staff, having required them to arrive some four hours early. Naturally they hadn’t been too pleased about the idea but came with the same compassion that helped them attain such employment. The week prior Dominic had conducted rigorous background checks on each as well as organizing folders of each of their records – tax, criminal, etc. The security had busied itself with run-throughs, hypothetical instance practice and whatever else Nic deemed necessary. The bartenders practiced their counter tricks and the DJ had been told to organize and submit a playlist for the night. All within the first hour. The second hour had been a meeting where the staff had submitted questions previously that Dominic addressed. The third hour was a private party for the staff – champagne, appetizers and the lot. And finally, the fourth hour, the club was prepared. Everything was finished thirty minutes in advance and so the waiting game had begun for the employees while Nic had gone home to change and get Inora. Seeing her dolled up was not something he would describe as “new” but he’d yet to lose his appreciation for the experience. She was radiant. Slipping down the stairs and weaving through the crowd, he made his way towards the front door. Ducking out long enough to scan the situation - with a small, albeit amused smile at the bouncers’ disgruntled looks before moving back indoors.
In that time he wandered towards the bar, slipping languidly through the uproar to make certain that the barkeeps’ resources were nowhere near spent. Their assumptions on what was necessary had proven about right so there was no emergency though Nic ordered an extra 500 units just in case. The DJ had needed very little instruction and was spinning a tune that had funded a lively dance floor. Finally he managed to stop by Inora and Ali, that same small, reserved smile on his lips. ”Ladies.” It probably seemed a cold greeting, entirely unlike him but at present he was on absolute “business-mode” and could not allow his focus to stray even to venture a compliment towards the blonde haired beauty that was fretting over something. That look in her eye was easily recognized by the werewolf, who risked a slow look at her, pausing before he moved on his way. It was a questioning look but one resigned to not having any time this evening. He was doing his job and others and things were running smoothly. That was all he could ask for at present, though the gun at his waist suggested he was prepared for someone to defy his desires and at that time he would be ready to impose his rules in a slightly more forceful way. He recalled the time he’d spent that morning alone, before he’d showered and dressed, sitting on the edge of his bed staring blankly at the wall. He had been mentally preparing himself for the task to come, praying softly to God for patience and strength for the evening and what followed it and safety for those he loved that would be there. Namely Ms. Makani. He was standing now, to the side of the bar in a state of dormancy for just long enough to catalog the goings on for the tenth time since they’d opened. I suppose it would be ridiculous to pose the question: which would you prefer? The lazy or the hyper vigilant? Personally, hyper vigilant seems more logical – less people die that way.

[atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,false][cs=0][bg=000806]
Inora was in the middle of feeling like one of those poor girls at middle school dances in old movies that were left alone while everyone else danced when she heard her name being screamed off to the side. She knew that voice and turned instantly. Ali, the sight of Inora's best friend washed over her with an intense effect, her mood instantly becoming one of happiness and relaxation, coupled with a sudden hyperness that only came from being around those who you could be your stupidest around.
"Ali!" Her words were more of a sigh of relief than her normal screams, she'd been so estrogen challenged lately, surrounded instead by all the male workers that the club had employed(it was just so much easier to have boys work for you than to worry about guys hitting on the girls). "I've missed you so much lovie." Inora wrapped her arms around Ali and squeezed tightly.
"Thank you love."She looked down at herself, she'd been working extra hard on her wardrobe lately, trying desperately to impress Dominic. It didn't seem to be working so far, he still made the same generic compliments he'd make if she wore a sack. Inora also trailed her eyes over her friend's attire and gave a soft smile. Ali was dressed in her usual, which was a little surprising considering it was such a big day. Then again, Ali wasn't always one to dress up, she was a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl and she tended to cling to those preferences. "You look quite tasty yourself my friend..." She was about to continue when the rest of Ali's comment hit her and she blushed deeply.
Still blushing she shook her head. "No I don't think that he notices anything about what I'm wearing. Nic's not really, one of those guys, he's deeply religious so I'm actually probably hurting him by dressing like this, if he does notice." She looked down, part of her felt bad for trying to entice Nic, but it wasn't like she was trying to seduce him to her bed, she was just trying to get him to make a move, if that's what he wanted to do.
Inora was just about to answer Ali's question about whether the others were here or not when she heard another familiar voice from behind her. She turned and smiled. "Hi Rosey! Thank you sweets, you look great also. And true, you aren't quite as filled out as me, being all model thin and perfect as you are." Inora smiled and wrapped her arms around her other friend.
"Well Ali, it seems you are not the only one here, it seems that Rose has decided to grace us with her beautiful presence as well." Inora smiled at Rose's mention of presents and jumped up and down excitedly. "I always love when you bring me gifts!" She chose to ignore the question about Nic for now and focused on the talkies for now. She took one for herself and searched for a way to clip it on. Inora turned to the bartender and smiled innocently. "Hey Mike...Are you wearing a belt?" Mike looked up and sighed, nodding he slipped his belt off and handed it to Inora. She grinned and wrapped it around herself, the black solid belt actually working surprisingly well with her outfit. Inora clipped the talkie onto it and then put the ear piece in.
"Thanks Rosey, these are nifty, they'll definitely come in handy." She flipped the instrument on and jerked away from the momentary feedback.
Inora glanced up and then looked over at Nic. "The wolf-man...he's uh, well he's, I dunno really. He's Nic. I think I love him. I think I want to be with him forever. I think...oh my god he's coming over here. I hope he didn't hear that! Don't say anything!"
Nic came over and Inora tried to put on a calm face. "Hi Nic, how are things on the security front?" She practically stammered out.

[atrb=width,435,true][atrb=border,0,false][cs=0][bg=0f0f0f] Ah, so many people. Dominic was impressed with the turn out, naturally the hype in New Orleans for a newborn club was always a done deal, but immortals were sometimes sketchy with their preferences. They got into a habit or used to a certain location where they felt comfortable and they stuck with it. But there were quite a few vampires to be had in here. The werewolf was not exactly "comfortable" in their presence, but he had multiple on staff just to keep their side in the know and have some added strength. Some of the vampires he employed were quite old, which made it difficult to find background information on. However if you knew how to search through history and listen to them speak you could dig up quite a bit of fact even within the vagueness of speak and conversation. It was surprising how much truth could be derived even from a lie - you could very easily tell what was not truth, process of elimination and all that. What truth could be gleaned from this scene?
People flock - no matter the species, girls squeal when they are pleased to see each other, and Inora Makani was absolutely breath taking. In all honesty Dominic was trying his very best not to focus on that last bit, but as he was to protect her as well it was fairly difficult to insure his brain remained absolutely distant from the idea that she was gorgeous. It probably was some device set forth for him to fall. He felt the pressure of it. How he didn't want to disappoint her. Even from a distance a faint grin showed on the man's features as he watched the she-wolf strap on that cute little walkie talkie. Amusedly allowed his stare to rove over the trio, he shook his head from his place there by the bar and made himself wander across the room, doing something like a zigzag just to cover more area as he scoped out what was going on.
After that he made his way back over to the three women, noticing the panicky look on Makani's features almost without having to glance at her - he felt the anxiety, too accustomed to the variance in the ambiance when her moods fluctuated. His mahogany gaze fluttered over her with silent concern, clearly a very intimate look though it plainly said You okay? His stare immediately hastened to inspect the faces of her two friends, an almost defensive look that said something entirely different What did you say to her? He nearly snarled, overprotective or not, his soul purpose for the past months had been to keep this woman safe, and no one, not even other women were going to sabotage it.
Hi Nic, how are things on the security front? At this, her questioning voice, his features softened and his stare moved back towards her face, seemingly coming back from the sudden hostility at a moment's notice. A small smile tugged at his lips, his face difficult to describe - it was a mixture of emotions, warmth, struggle, and certainly affection. "Perfect." He said simply, absentmindedly taking her hand, raising it to his lips with an amused smile and kissing it before stepping back and shaking his head. Stop worrying. That's my job tonight." His brow furrowed as if to chide her and his lips firmed into a more stern expression though it utterly failed in the playfulness that seemed to overtake those eyes.
The other two women were seemingly forgotten, the werewolf peacefully unaware of whatever their reactions were at present. Romantically speaking, all he saw was Inora. His eyes squinted as he listened to something in his earbud and he sighed, shoulders rolling back as he got back in business mode. Excuse me. At that he ventured back off, towards the front of the establishment where someone was getting unpleasant about not getting in. A human, waving a gun. And Nic was more coming to its aid than anything. His bouncers were in no mood to tolerate such impudent threats. Ten minutes later the man escorted himself back down the block, still muttering about discrimination but no shots had been fired. Nic stood with his hands in his pockets, skull inclined while he made certain the man stayed out.
Murmurring encouragement to his staff, he ventured back into the main building down back towards the bar where he made certain that all was well and everyone was picking up their own tabs and the tip jar was adequately filled. It was at the halfway mark and so he inventoried the cash and took it to be locked in the vault accompanied by the two senior bouncers. At that point he seated himself lazily at the bar, leaning back against it and blinking slowly as he watched the goings on, giving the girls their space and just working. More difficult than usual, actually.
