A Graveyard? How totally stereotypical of this vampire. For stories and fables have altered the truth of her race so much. These myths have created a dark gloomy stereotype for the vampire race that is rather far from the truth. Yes some of their writings are loosely tied to the truth, just loosely. Vampires can not come out in the sun light. Sort of anyway. Vampires are able to come out on overcast days and at twilight, just not in direct light. But Vampires do not sleep in coffins during the day! Nor do vampires hang out in Graveyards. Well normally anyway. This was an extremely abnormal case. Avery was not here because it was the “vampire thing to do.” She was here for normal reasons. Reasons that a human would visit a Graveyard. Although most humans would not visit a place like this in the middle of the night, but a person like Avery didn’t have a choice in the matter of time. So here she is, middle of the night, prancing around in a Graveyard. So overrated for a vampire like herself, but Avery wasn’t really one that cared about public opinion. Plus, there was no one around. Or was there?
Strides were long and smooth as Avery walked across the soft soil of the old forgotten Graveyard. The soil was so soft and rather mushy she had to position her weight on her stilettos just precisely so that she would not sink within the altered earth. This Graveyard was old and forgotten, along with those who reside here. Behind darkened glasses Avery’s gray voids fell upon the stone of her designation. On the far corner of the Graveyard rested a large cross that towered over all the rest. Engraved across the cross in beautiful calligraphy was the name Cade. The surname that this very vampire bore. The name of the family that crossed the very King who’s nobility resided here. Of course the King was unaware of the Cade family involvement in the American Revolution. If he had known, Avery’s father would have never been buried here. Avery’s father actually played a key role in the Revolution, though was very well at keeping his involvement quite. Avery knew the story as much as she knew her own name. She was there, she lived those moments and those were memories that time could never erase.
Steps finally halted before the large stone cross. One fair petite hand touched the cool metal of the dark shades covering Avery’s crystal voids and pushed them back through her hair and left them in a resting place upon her crown. It was a rarity for Avery to be without her shades, but it was also a rarity for her to be here at this Graveyard. Slowly here lean bodice knelt towards the earth. Her knew resting at the base of the stone cross. Her forehead was touched to the cool stone surface and her eyes were pressed shut. The stone of the cross reminded Avery of herself. Cold and lifeless. She tried to push the thoughts of her eternal self out of her mind and focus on her father. Palm was pressed to the cross as Avery’s lips parted. "Hey father, I know I haven‘t visited you in a while, but when you live forever you kind of loose track of time." As she spoke to her father tears began to well up in her crystal voids. She was extremely emotional when it came to her father. She came every now and then to talk to him but she always felt guilty. She was just a girl and she got an eternal life and he was a noble leader that got old and died. It was un fair but it was life. "I miss you, sometimes I don‘t know what to do without your guidance." Her voice was barley above a whisper and was tear filled. It was ridicules. She was two and a half centuries old and still wanted her fathers guidance. Her words were cut short by a sound off in the distance. Quickly she regained her composer and leaped from the Earth below her. She was now tense and on edge. "Show yourself!" Avery’s words were spat in the direction of whatever the source of the noise was.
