Tyson's Place-Just slightly more manly
What in the world possessed a nine hundred something year old man to invite a woman he'd been seeing for a short while to his home for dinner? Tyson had no idea, he just knew that that's what he'd done. Though why still was the question on his mind. He had never been that good of a cook, but he was doing his best. He'd decided to make just about the only thing he had any idea how to make. Spaghetti. He hoped Rose would enjoy it. Standing in the middle of his apartment, Tyson looked around one final time making sure everything was in place.
"Shit!" He heard bubbling and raced into the kitchen just before the water boiled over. He dumped the noodles into the water and set the timer for about 8 minutes. Tyson stood there, looking down into the bubbling water and thought back to the first time he'd seen Rose.
Well, the very first time he'd seen her, she'd been on a billboard. He'd nearly wrecked his car she was so beautiful, right then he'd known that someday this girl would be his. Or that he would at least get to meet her. Driven crazy by the dreams he had of her, sweet dreams where he realized that she was finally the woman he'd been looking for his whole life, he finally had to use all of his centuries of favors done for friends to get to meet her.
-Flashback-
Tyson's friend, who happened to be one of Rose's employers, stood beside him, watching him fidget in anticipation. "Tys, calm down, she's going to love you. What girl doesn't?"
"Lots of girls. Don't stress me out right now man."
"I still can't believe you did all this just to get to meet her."
"Seriously man, don't make me hurt you." His friend held up his hands and turned away.
"Ah, there she is. Rose!" He waved her over and Tyson nearly fainted. She was even more beautiful up close. And perhaps the most beautiful thing about her was the fact that in real life, when she wasn't smiling down at him from a billboard, Tyson could smell that she was vampire. Finally, a woman he could spend the rest of his unlife with. "Miss Decumbry, allow me to introduce my close friend, Tyson Maddox. He's a famous author, best sellers almost every season for this man. What? Oh, excuse me. His friend walked away to answer an imaginary call, leaving Tyson alone and blushing with this beautiful woman.
-End-
They'd talked, for a long time, and in the end Tyson had found himself asking her on a date. Charmed by her words and her actions. Saddened by the way she seemed broken somehow. Determined to fix her life.
After a few more dates, he was convinced, she was the woman he wanted forever. Or at least that he wanted to try to be with forever. A loud beeping brought him out of these thoughts and memories and he realized that the spaghetti noddles were done. He carried the pot over to the sink and drained the noodles. He pulled the sauce that he'd made earlier out of the fridge and popped it into the microwave real fast before pouring it over the noodles.
He carefully spooned some out onto two plates and then carried them out to the dining room table. It was set in the classical romantic dinner way, a single candle in the middle. He'd laid a single rose on her napkin, not red. This rose was blue and it had been dipped in titanium so that it would last for as long as she did.
Tyson set the plates down and stepped back to view the scene. Yes, perfect. He was ready for her. Good thing to because at that moment he heard the doorbell echo through his apartment.
"Coming!"
