THE VAMPIRE'S MASQUERADE BALL The spacious ballroom is all set and ready for the event. Crystal chandeliers hang in all angles of the ceiling, the dome itself painted in that of a replica to the most wondrous of basilicas. Tall windows line the place, some draped fully in royal felted colors, others pulled open lazily exposing the gardened grounds behind them.
The gardens are open for guests to roam, water fountains and the most exotic of birds and flowers littering the well clipped grounds. A small intermediate labyrinth resides there also if he need shall arise to find one's self in a bit of fun, or just escape for a while to one's own.
Commodities were well provided, a small live orchestra sits out of the way in over-hanging balconies to serenade the night. Near a few corners lie fountains raining of the heavenly crimson liquid that the immortal ever so enjoy, clearly marked as human and animal to fit one's preference. Said fountains are also heated to maintain the delicacy at optimum quality. Alcohol will also be served at a well stocked bar. Live refreshments are at service also, given they remain the night with their own lives intact, they are willing to provide to one's needs if one wishes. If a live commodity should fall to death, the one responsible shall be escorted out of the event.
Masks shall be, as tradition has it, removed at midnight and the event shall carry on after. As a helpful remark, full face masks will prevent some challenge for drinking before the removal of masks, it's advised to bear a half face mask, but it is left to one's preference.
Note: Werewolves are not permitted to attend to avoid confrontation. Humans may come if they are a guest of a vampire.

Helena loved to dress up. She loved doing girly things, wearing make up, over done gowns and her hair made up to perfection. Her shoes had been stained to match the gown she wore, hidden however through the mass of fabric that covered her legs and toes. Usually she wasn't one for the low cut front. She was very discreet with her attire, but the dress was too perfect to pass up. She had received an invitation to this event only a couple of days ago, not having been home to check her mail was a good reason why it had been so long to get it, but she had spent a couple of days shopping around for the perfect dress. She had hoped Shaden had gotten one and asked her to go, it had been Helena who had opted to meet him there only because she had a problem with the whole, formal thing. Not only that, but the car was sent to pick her up, and he wasn't there on time to catch the ride. Of course she had made the car wait, but as always, everything had to be done on schedule. She hated that. Schedules and time stamps, things that had to be so perfectly accurate. It made her nearly shed tears having to leave without him, but she had called him from her cell phone which was now tucked safely in her little bloom purse. She would keep her bag in the car, promised the car she had arrived in would be the car to take her home. Where this place was had been beyond her, which made it a little exciting. She wore her cross as usual, letting it nestle there against the center of her upper just above the breast line, visible of course and perhaps from other vampires eyes would be considered treason, but she didn't care. she loved her God and let it be known by wearing his symbol. The car pulled up, the man standing just outside had moved to open the door for her, a helping hand to assist her out and she thanked him graciously. Her head turned right looking to see if he was around, left. Nothing. Maybe he was already inside or falling behind. Why she had become so infatuated with him was apparent in her mind, but not for her to be so concerned as she was. Even with the news of his latest happening she had forgiven him as well as herself for even letting this whole mess happen. Falling in loe far too soon and on the very first night. Perhaps not entirely in love, but she had that feeling as if she could spend the rest of her undead life with him. Upon entry she had looked around. Still no Shaden. A sigh escaped delicately painted lips. The light furbishing of pink stained lips covered by strawberry gloss fell to a pout, but she had managed to press onward and move around a portion of people she had never met before. She was most happy to hear that her boss, or ex-boss would not be attending. At least they could have a night of freedom without being judged by him. For now she would have to make due with being by herself or trying to converse with someone she doesn't know. She wasn't sure about making friends, she was a loner who kept to herself most of the time, and this scene wasn't entirely her, but she thought it would make one hell of a magical night for the two.

The invitation had come just a few days ago or rather he'd checked his mail a few days ago and found the little formal envelope and the formal writing announcing the ball. Shaden's first thought was to burn the stupid little thing, but after thinking about it for a moment he realized this was something Helena would most differently want to attend. Of course that didn't mean he would have to go, however, it would make her happy to see him there. He spent the first night sulking about it. He'd sworn off masks and such when that era ended and time had moved on. Now he was going back to it to make one women happy. It was the stupid romantic in him that made him want to please her by being completely selfless for a change.
Shaden had been forced to go and purchase a new attire for this night. It was something fairly simple compared to what others would be wearing but that was Shaden. He preferred to keep things simply and not over complicate things with such little things such as clothes.
He found though, as he was changing into his attire, what a simple change of clothes did for him. He almost seemed better suited for this kind of clothing. And it bothered him to no end. He'd been slightly surprised when Helena called him, he'd told her he would meet her there. Shaden hated being rushed, and these damn people and their damn time schedule was irritating, but he understood that often times things like this were necessary, although that didn't mean he dislikes it any less then before. He was just putting on the infernal black coat that went along with the rest of the attire. He gave himself a once look over, both loving and hating the way he looked. A sigh rushed past lips as he stepped out of his house and started toward the awaiting car.
There was nothing to do but think as the car drove on. It had seemed remarkable that Helena was able to forgive him for being marked. To Shaden, this was a fairly good sign about their future together. And it was a future Sevanni wouldn't be able to prevent, even if someday soon he decided he longer wanted Shaden seeing her. He'd have no choice but to let him continue to see her. Shaden could be very smart when he needed to be. He smirked as he pictured the small confirmation between them. And Shaden making his point to Sevanni that would make him realize he'd trapped himself with his own words. Yes, he and Helena would have a very good future a head of them. No matter what Sevanni said.
The car had finally pulled up, and the door was opened for him. He stepped out, and allowed a moment to look around. It was unlikely that she would be waiting for him out here, but it never hurt to look. She wasn't, of course, which could only mean she was already inside. Once he had entered he immediately searched around for her with his eyes, moving past those he couldn't care less about until he finally saw her. There was a moment of hesitation as he gazed at her, standing there in that amazing dress. She was so beautiful. He'd would even say breath taking but the words sounded wrong for a being that had no real need to breath in the first place.
He walked toward her, and once close enough took her hand into his and raised it to his lips, kissing it so lightly, and offering her a familiar smile. "You look gorgeous." Came soft words as he lowered her hand from his mouth but did not let go, "I do believe you shall outshine everyone." It was funny how he could even transform his voice to match the attire, to match this era of time, "And you will be the envy of every women here." A dramatization? Maybe. But Shaden truly thought she was beautiful, and he knew without a doubt he would not be able to see anyone here that compared to her.

The music wasn't really her taste. Classical was alright for occasions such as this, but all in all she didn't really fall prone to taking in an ear full. Everyone but her seemed to be smiling, the mask partially hiding her face, green hues looking about over those around and wondering how late she truly had to stay. Without him there, there wasn't really much of a point in staying, but he had said he would show, and so she would wait.
Her head turned to her right, looking over as some woman had scuttled up a glass and took a nice serving of blood from the fountain, eyes drifted away from her and looking at another. The woman's dress was by far beautiful, but of course she knew her own was far better.
Suddenly she felt a hand take up her own, an intake of air sucked in slightly before she realized it was Shaden who had came to send her shivers of delight. Her heart would surely have skipped a beat then, perhaps a couple more than a few. Lips met skin and she let a delicate smile embrace those plush lips as he kissed her hand, lips spreading in the center a smidgen before his words were released after lowering her hand. "You look gorgeous." Oh beat the still heart. An opposing term to the obvious culteral standard.
"I do believe you shall outshine everyone." Her lower lip had rolled inward under teeth lightly, reminding herself mentally that her lips had been painted and quickly released the hold without smudging it. Eyelids blinked, not having to wear all that dark mascara so her already perfect lashes could appear more visible. Pity that most women had to use that crap to enhance their features. Her own make up had been designed to simply enhance her features a tad to make her shine. Light tones and shades here and there. The rest was crap.
A breath was drawn out before a smile took refuge over lips. "And you will be the envy of every women here." If only he didn't have that rediculous mask covering his perfect features. She too had worn her own, which made her slightly mad. It seemed as if she were reliving the past all over again, but in the modern day, it was so much easier to live. With the exception of earths nearing end of course. A blush caressed cheeks. "You do know how to make a girl blush Mr. Grace." A little timber smirk played angelically over lips, glad that his own hand hadn't left hers. Her free hand moved over the lining of the jackets fin, running slender fingers down it as fingers lay inside the flap cut. "You look quite dashing. Dressing up suits you."
She had to stop smiling. Her cheeks would begin to hurt within a few minutes but she couldn't help but be filled with relief of his arrival. "This place is absolutely dreadful without you here." She said with a slight pout, wanting to dash out into the gardens and ignore the eyes and murmurs of everyone in the room.
Helena Kyle, there with Shaden Grace......well.....to anyone who had ever been with him, eat your heart out. Oh she could do that quite literally of course. Easy and slim pickings. Her hand had long since lowered, moving over to place on his as they stood face to face. What she wouldn't give to taste raspberry and faded blood all over again.
"I'm very glad you made it.....Another moment here alone and I would have surely headed for the hills." She let a soft chuckle lift from her throat, hoping she didn't seem too desperate for him, not like she was, but she hadn't seen him for quite some time, and she didn't know how much longer she could take without hearing that voice of his.

Post by *Kane & Abel Westin on Sept 9, 2009 14:51:16 GMT -5
When it came to these things Abel was not a happy camper. Wearing a monkey suit. Conforming to society and these social events were not anywhere close to his liking. Kane on the other hand didn't mind it so much. He was the neat one, always proper with his attire and the impressions he left with others about himself. Not that either of them much cared, but when it came to going out in public with Aubrey, they had to die down their Beelzelbubness and fancy up. Not all the time, but tonight they had.
Kane stepped in front of his brother, fingers lacing around the striped tie he had been told to wear. Abel's face scrunched, disgusted that he couldn't just wear a snap on. Kane nearly punched him for even thinking it. One of the best things about being their certain sort of twin was knowing what each other thought. When one wasn't being blocked out of course. "I swear....try to be on your best behavior hmmmm? We don't need another incodent like last time."
Abel rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I know." It wasn't so bad slaughtering all those innocents when they were set free to roam about New York. They had beautiful escorts to show them a night on the town, car racing in the streets to beat the girls back to the house where they stayed, and then that's when everything just started getting interesting. Aubrey swore they wouldn't be able to do that again. Not after that night. Normally she didn't mind seeing her boys destruction on the ten o' clock news, it was rather interesting watching her get excited about their displays.
Abel finally had to slap Kane's hand away before the aggravation began to set. Cursing words in Latin, pissing Kane off more so than he was when he found Abel with his tie wrapped around his head, walking around in his boxers when they should have been ready a half hour ago. They weren't quite on duty tonight, they were always on duty, but they had another purpose this evening and that was to escort the sexiest woman on the face of the planet to some fancy shmancy ball. Abel didn't want to wear the suit jacket, but Kane had promised him that he could take it off once everything was relaxed, unless she told him not to.
"No!" Shouted Kane as Abel went for the black balls he kept on the dresser. Drop one and black dust would end up everywhere. He knew what Abel was trying to do. Weasel his way out of it and not go. Abel stopped dead in his tracks before tossing one up in the air to sort his juggling theatrics. Another frown. Another snicker. They were always going at it.
"Right then, let's get this over with yeah?" Abel tossed out before heading for the door. He had wished he were in Aubrey's room snuggled up on her bed, taking in the scent of her sheets and duvet. Her sweet aroma in that room alone made him want to curl up and hold her leg as she lay there between the brothers. Abel loved doing that. Wrapping his body around her left leg as they slept. Kane's arms embracing her with comfort. They always had a better days rest that way. Waking up refreshed. Rejuvinated.
"Bloody Christ." Abel paused in the hallways after laying blue and silver eyes over Miss. Mayor. Their tones changing now and then like a chamelion. Abel's had matched his tie. Kane's had been a light tint of gray at the moment. Kane turned to view with his own eyes, wondering how the hell they had been so lucky. She had perfect skin, soft, smoothe, sensuous. If those lips hadn't been painted they would have gladly laid lips upon her own just to savor the flavor and take her soul into them. That's how devoted to her they were. If only their souls could be entwined.
Truth be told, no one could fulfill her needs and desires the way they could. As if the twins had been specially made to be placed on this forsaken earth just to desire and please her. They had chased away the other elder. He was not worthy of her what so ever. There was the agent, and now some punk detective was trying to find her. Their eyes had been glued to him like salt on a pretzel. Pleading with her not to go speak with him. Even Judge was against it, but they didn't much care for him either. Kane's main goal was to out him, but he was too cunning to let that happen. They would bide their time.
"You look absolutely smashing." Kane spoke afterward as eyes lingered over that perfect form. She always did look radient in gowns. Hell, she would look radient in a garbage bag for all they knew. Both boys registered arms outward, preciously wanting her own to slip through and they would lead her out to the waiting car. Time schedule or not, the car would wait. They hadn't gone to New York for nothing. But no one rushed Aubrey Mayor, no matter who you were.
She smelled delicious. Divine. If they could eat her up they would, but that was forbidden, with the exception of the obvious feral hunger within them.Mysterious places, but they knew where this place was. They knew everything. The boys knew who was on theguest list, who would attend, who wasn't showing up, and the happiest news had been divulged to her hours before leaving to New York. Not that it mattered really if certain persons showed or not, but it was one less face to mangle. Later they would ask to play around the state and wreak havoc on the assholes territory. He had done it to hers, so it was only fair. Right? Who could blame them? They always encouraged Mallie on when she was raiding about the house. Following along side her and helping her stir a fright. Judge dispised them more for doing it, not like they cared. It was playtime when Mallie was out and about running through the house when the boys weren't out on the prowl. A well designed secret laid for a good while. Mallie was precious to them not only because she was precious to Aubrey, but because she was so tiny and they never had a little sister before. They missed her already.
Abel was incredibly hungry. His appetite was insatiable. Kane not as much but their damage upon mortals was like nothing anyone had ever seen. They could devour a whole night club in one sitting. A rave hours later, and still go back for more. Sometimes Kane just didn't understand how his brother could eat so much and stay so fit without so much as lifting a weight. They were simply perfect. Which was why Aubrey had kept them. Made them her own, and adored them to no extent.
"Can we raid the state tonight?" Abel asked with giddy intent. Nibbling his lower lip with widened eyes as anticipation filled him. Kane had been laughing inside and smiled heavenly on the outside. He knew Abel would be the first to ask, so there was no need for him to do the same. "Fill the sky with blood and let there be a ring around the moon." He claimed out with pride. He had promised the girls payback for having fun in their country, it was time for them to return the favor. Nite and Dae wouldn't get away with spreading their victory without retaliation.

It was fairly crucial that she attended this..ball. Being a coven leader and all, she had to make herself look good. Hair pulled tightly back into a bun, no loose strands poking upward, or out of place and loose. The perfect face of hers was revealed to the world. As it had been before. But not so tonight, she had on a mask, covering those features. A foolish thought to her, but dress code was dress code. She'd abide by it. The gold and white silk that clung to her in every spot perfectly. She looked perfect. And now sitting, in this dark and lonely car, she shone like a light. This was a gown similar to the ones she would wear at her own balls, the Decumbry ball. Exclusive as it came. Crisply cute diamonds and sparklescovered her neckline, with matching earrings, bracelet, and ring. An expensive set for an expensive event. She was the perfect, classical looking woman of this event. The most, probably. No plunging neckline, short skirt, hideous color. She knew what these events were meant to look like. Beautiful. Rose wondered all who would be there. She ran a graceful hand along her collarbone, peering down at the mask in her hand. It'd been awhile since she'd attended this ball. Let alone wear a gown this extravagant and beautiful. She'd left about a half hour ago, from her Hilton hotel. She'd always wanted to be a princess. And she'd shine for sure this evening. And be a true princess. Her mom had been the one who'd loved these things. Rose had only attended them when she wasn't at school.
Mother hosted, and attended these things as her life, supposedly. And as the only living member of her line, she felt obliged to do both. Host the Annual Decumbry Ball every once in awhile, and attend as many as she possibly could. She lost count years ago. She wouldn't cry, and no t ears threatened her perfect lined charcoal eyes. "Are you proud of me mother?" No answer came, but none was needed.
She already had her answer.
Blue hues shown with respect. Of course she knew. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and smiled. Glittering blue eyes, outlined with black, and a nude lip, somewhat tan skin sparkling against the feeling naked material. So light and free.
The car stopped, Rose's eyes looking up. Time had flown by that fast. Here goes nothing.. She mused to herself, tying the soft material of the mask behind her bun. Hands smoothed over the material, awaiting the door to open. She never opened her own door unless she was behind the wheel. And that was back in England. The man got up and walked around, propping her door open. A small smile danced on her lips, and she stuck her golden foot out onto the pavement, clutching her skirts as she did so. Standing just a few inches below the towering man in her heels. Tonight she would not be declared a 'midget'. She was two inches higher than her lower than five foot height. "Thank you.." She whispered in that surly London accent, looking around.
A nice garden was always something fun. The inside seen from windows seemed nice, already some other vampires in there, mingling like royalty. An eyebrow quirked up, and she almost laughed. None of those people were actually royalty. The closest things to royalty that would be attending the ball tonight, were her, and location itself. An Heiress with her social status, was royalty. She danced with Dukes and dined with Duchesses when home. This was normal to her.
"Almost like a rehearsel.." She mused, blank eyes from behind the mask, and a head tilted to the side. Hopefully the others she'd seen, and gotten to know, some good and bad, would be attending as well. Tyson hopefully among that group of people. Her skirts still lifted in her hands, she slowly made her up the way, through open doors. Eyes scanned the place, scoping it out. Dressed to a royals' preference. Thank goodness. Her skirts fell down around her narrow hips, the full look there once more. Her heels clicked slowly, rhythmically on the floor, as she made her way to the centre.
She didn't know quite know what to do. What she usually did. She'd wait to be asked to dance, dance, then mingle, and repeat. Drilled into her head for many a time. Her small chest caving in as a breath was taken, and exhaled. It was breathtakingly beautiful, no doubt. She made her way over to another group of vampires, four it seemed like. Three males and one woman. Sadly an outnumbered party. She might mix up the dancing and mingling, no foul though.
"Hello," She said coolly, her British voice singing on the edge of her voice. Something she was rarely ashamed of, in fact she was never ashamed of. Three handsome men, those she wasn't looking on any party, and one woman. A plunging neckline never did anyone good. Besides provide a suggestion, in her mind. But she wouldn't hold it against the poor girl. Who probably hadn't even been to many of these.
She was probably intruding, but she didn't care. A ball for vampires, not just a singled off group. Now that was no fun at all. Blue, cold hues cast over the group one more time. She hoped she didn't look as intimidating as she felt.

As Victor was getting his tuxedo on, he was contemplating to himself why on earth he was going? He was just recently turned into a vampire, and not to mention he hated dressing up in a formal sense. He received the Werewolf Bonfire Invitation because the werewolves he did know sent him the invitation. What would they think if he popped in as a Vampire? They would destroy him. And he was so looking forward to seeing Pup there. He sighed and turned to look into the mirror, putting on the white-cream shirt that seemed to hug his body and reveal his muscular physique. It’s been forever and eternity since he last saw her. Last he remembers of her was when she changed him into a wolf… She was in the hospital with him telling him about the world that veiled hidden before him all those years. And then, like Houdini, she disappeared. He had no way of getting in touch with her. She vanished without a trace. By the time he was out of the hospital, her scent was so faint, it was hard to trace back. It was for the best probably. He opened his eyes again after finishing off his thoughts and stared at himself one more time. His reflection was always the same, yet it looked a little different. Everything was in grey scale as always, except his eyes, one bright blue and one bright green. There was a hint of red in each due to the thirst of his Vampire side, but that would be taken care of at the ball. He then thought to himself how he would be of any use at a ball full of color and action when he himself was color blind to all color except red, blue, green, and grey scale. Today was probably going to be ending in disaster of him. The only thing that made this bearable was knowing that he could walk tall in the ball hall with Ali at his side and the wedding rings on their fingers. A little smile started to form. He turned to get the tie and cufflinks, placing the cufflinks on the counter in front of him for easy access, and the tie in hand already starting to form the knot. So much has happened to him over the past years that he would have never though could ever happen to him when he was human. Vampires & Werewolves… they were just superstation to him... now he was living in that superstation. He met Ali, along with so many others that were with her… Some more accepting of him than others. He thought back to that day in the bar with Rose Decumbry and how she practically made him into Victor Steak Strips with a ceiling fan because she found out that he, a werewolf, was the one who was with Ali. It was a hard time for Victor to prove that he was worth the time Ali gave him. In the end though, the hard work paid of. After finishing the cufflinks and the tie, he put on the coat, and was done. He looked at himself one more time, to see if he forgot anything. Shoes were on and cleaned. Tuxedo pressed, cleaned, and on. Tie spotless and on his person. Tedious things, such as hair and other such things were taken care of before the tuxedo was put on. All that was left was the cologne. Scent… Was that going to matter in a room filled with Vampires? Probably… And who would he recognize? He knew Ali’s and Rose’s scent by heart now, since Ali was like a field of exotic wild flowers and Rose a bouquet of fine roses. It was in their bloodline he guessed. Hopefully this time, Rose will be less than hateful towards him. With everything taken care, he walked outside, grabbing the keys to the hotel room, he stood waiting by the door for Ali to walk out. ’It’s going to be a long day, and a day that Ali has been looking forward to. So be good…’A last sigh escaped his lips… Time to start the show…

Such a silly princess game Covered by glitter and feathers A soft hum left pale lips as she flitted around looking for all the things she needed. There was the dress, the heels, the mask, the make up and the jewelry. Every little thing that was needed for a ball. Since of course, thats where she was going. The annual vampire ball was being held again. There was one almost every year and when she could she would attend them. She loved the dances, hated being in a dress, but she would deal for one night of elegance and dancing. Even though she could not dance in her opinion. Vic was in another room getting dressed supposedly and she was in this one getting her dress on and of course getting everything else fixed up. The hotel room was large, with two rooms in it like a house, and of course each room had a bathroom for the guests sleeping there. They hadnt been here long. In fact tonight was the first night in this hotel room. Even though they had been staying in many for the past twelve days. Three days in Greece, three days in Spain, three days in London and three days in Paris. It was for their honeymoon. Glancing at her left hand Ali couldnt help but smile. She was married. Had a husband. Something she never dreamed would happen. But she couldnt be happier and every time she saw the rings that marked her as Vics, she had to smile. And even though she was excited for this, she was worried about Vic as well. She had only just recently turned him into a vampire. Right before the wedding actually. He had been doing very well with her, not attacking anyone and keeping himself under control. She was very proud of him. By this time of her own change, she had snapped and lost it. But not her husband..No..he wouldnt. He would be fine. She would make sure of it. She would be there with him the whole time and make sure he stayed calm and well fed. Maybe even convince him to dance. Grabbing the dress from the back of the chair she had placed it on she unzipped the back and then wiggled the fabric over her slender hips. The silky feeling was lovely but she still hated that white piece of fabric with a passion. The dress was white and had a skirt that flared out in a brilliant show of fluff and lace. And there were see through lacy sleeves to go with it. Over all, it was a very beautiful dress and it suited Ali. Once the dress was one she needed to get the other things ready. Such as her hair and the make up and the shoes and the jewelry. She envied the guys. They didnt have to do as much. Gathering her skirts up after placing the white heels that raised her height by four inches on, she went into the bathroom connected to this room. Luckily, she had already curled her hair earlier. Her dark brown ringlets spilled down her back and crested her face softly, making her look even more innocent and pure. The make up was on the counter there and she grasped in one hand the mascara and in another the tan colored lipstick she had picked. Ali wasnt one to go all out. The eyeliner that she added on after the black mascara was a simple black and just a thin line on the lower part of her eyes. The eyeshadow she decided on a dusky gray color that matched the white of the dress. With the make up all applied she added the only thing left. Her mothers locket. Besides her wedding rings, the locket was the only item of jewelry she ever wore. The mask that she had picked out for this occasion was sitting there on the counter as well and she picked it up in her hands gently, running her fingertips over the feathers on the side. A smile was placed on her lips and she took the mask, shut off the bathroom light and headed for the door. She had heard Vic leave out it only a few moments before. He was probably waiting. Somehow, she knew he didnt want to go, but he would because it would make her happy. He had received and invite for the werewolf bonfire. But he couldnt exactly go there anymore. And it was all her fault. But since she was the one that had acquired the invite, Vic was her guest. And she wouldnt leave his side. Opening the door she smiled at him and tilted her head. "You look handsome. Are we ready to go? They said they would send a car for us."

One of Ruby Matilda Monroe's favorite past times was shopping, shopping expensively, and wearing those things. She could also handle formal more then well, enjoying the company of other and able to engage in public talk with strangers. However, she'd been to so many damn masquerades. Her mind had been trying the idea of not attending when she received the invite. For she did have a large busty black dress buried deep in her walk-in closet somewhere. But once she made up her mind about actually going to the thing, she made herself promise to at least raise a few brows.
Something modern sounded lovely. Too many times had she only seen the typical gowns full of royal gusto. Quite honestly, she was very near throwing on something mod just to piss. But here now she was, just a typical fitting black dress. She made sure there was some ruffle in there just in case. It was in between a formal dress and cocktail dress. It's be a gown if it was longer... but Ruby liked her legs.. and shoes too much for such things. Sorry to disappoint! All in all, the rules and status quote could eat her fuck. She looked great, and had a mask, and was in a lightly dressed formal. If anyone wished to complain then they could hear from her pretty lips personally with not so pretty words.
The dog-tags that bore her and her past lover's names was left inside her jewelry box for the night, replaced with a necklace bearing a clock and other small charms on the end, an old trinket from years ago, actually. Her ring too was something that Ruby had collected somewhere in her seventy years. Her hair was pulled up in what looked like a loose fitted bun, but very secure with well hidden pins. A few strands she'd made sure to curl were now loose around her face, her bangs falling nicely in with them. The band holding the birdcage veil was hidden in her dark hair, the black embroidery hanging over her eyes which were already obscured by the mask itself, a simple laced thing. Her icy blues where however done up also in mascara and light lining, and of course... red lips as a finishing touch. Nothing she was wearing was really new but she was sure no one in this particular crowd would have seen her in any of it, or remembered the event anyway.
Walking in now after the car ride, which to her relief was not terribly long, she held her bearings high, her heels clacking against the marble as she made her way gracefully and with purpose to the fountain marked Human. Might as well start off the evening with a drink. She was almost positive she was being given second degree into her back. Jealousy that she wasn't harboring a dress that weighed as much as she did? Possibly. The smallest of smiles graced her lips as she picked up a goblet, nodding her head at someone who she had happened to lock eyes with before dipping it in and spooning her desired amount. From the taste of it, even warm, she could tell it had been refined, blood bags possibly. That would make sense if they also gave live supplement... for those who were impossibly picky of course. No, Ruby could do without being Joker Faced for the evening. Feeding from the vain did ruin her lipstick so. In fact, a straw with this goblet would make her every desire come true! But one couldn't be that lucky.
She remained near the fountain, holding the clutch that contained make-up materials, her apartment keys and cell phone. The classical music serenaded her ears. She never listened to it much in her spare time, but she was appreciative of it, and thought it more than fitting for the occasion. It was superb, compliments to the conductor.
One more sip from her drink and her lips were semi pursed, scanning the crowd idly. Her eyes fell on to a long window, gazing out to the gardens beyond. She promised herself that she'd make her way out there for a smoke before the night ends, maybe when the masks were removed. With that thought her mind floated places it tended to wander... against her will, especially now. What if he was too invited? He wouldn't be into these things, she could guess, he never really was one for dressing up, much to her dismay.
But it would be the worst of things to run into him in public. God she'd be a mess. In front of everyone. She didn't care to imagine his reaction.. in public or otherwise. It simply made her want to keep her mask on! But really... she shouldn't. The place was filling up so fast it would be like the time she tried searching for him in that god damned fucking Misfits concert (which she adored profusely). Absolutely the most hopeless of efforts. This time she wouldn't be sending repeated calls and texts to his cell phone, however, hoping at some point in the stop of the booming speakers he could differentiate from the vibration in his pocket. No, that was something she could be sure of. The small memory bringing a little grin to her face long with an eye roll. Ruby hid it with another little sip to her drink, placid now once again.
867 words, and outfit such as this and mask like this plus with tunes like mindless self indulgenceeee makes for this post here. and another thing this is tagged to nobodeh.

"You do know how to make a girl blush Mr. Grace." A soft breathy laugh moved past lips, and then he smiled, and raised his free hand to lightly touch her cheeks. "Yes, and I so love to make you blush." He said before moving his hand back to his side. It would be too easy to forget that they were not the only two here. Her free hand had moved over the lining of the jackets fin, running slender fingers down it as fingers lay inside the flap cut. And he watched her wondering what she was thinking. He didn't have to wait long to find out.
"You look quite dashing. Dressing up suits you." Shaden shook his head, though his eyes were amused and even though he disagreed with her, it pleased him to know she liked him dressing up. So he hadn't done this for nothing. "I feel ridiculous." He said a bit more softly so no listening ear could here. It wasn't often he admitted to feeling uncomfortable or anything. He just wasn't the type to complain. Out loud anyway.
"This place is absolutely dreadful without you here." The corner of his lips lifted to form a slightly seductive little crooked smile. "Is that so? I suppose its a good thing I decided to come then." He teased, and gently squeezed her hand. Reassuring her that he'd been happy to come. For her. Her pout was the most adorable thing, and he'd had to restrain himself from leaning in and kissing those delicious lips of hers.
"I'm very glad you made it.....Another moment here alone and I would have surely headed for the hills." It was comforting to know she felt the same way about this types of functions. There only point was to socialize and Shaden had been one for that. But still... "It wont be so terrible." He shrugged but the words sounded like he was trying to both convince her and himself.
And that was when she came in. His head turned sharping in her direction, there wasn't enough people here yet to hide her from his view. His breathing stopped completely. Ah, Hell. What the fuck was she doing here. Shaden would have gladly ran just then. Go and not look back. He wanted to disappear and hope he didn't get close enough to hear her voice that he knew so well. It thrilled him to have her here, and at the same time it ruined all chance of him being able to relax and enjoy himself. Yes, Shaden was over the fact that they weren't together anymore, and that they never would be again, but he still had feeling for her. This was going to be a long night.
"Hello," The sudden feminine voice was unexpected, and he looked at the vampire. Her dress was lovely, but he much preferred Helena's of course. He smiled politely, "Hello." He replied smoothing. Sea glass orbs looking into her blue eyes, unaffected by the coldness reflected in them. He half turned to face her more, his hand remained in Helena's almost worried now that without her touch he would leave.
He wasn't going to be a coward. Shaden would deal with tonight just like everything else in his messed up world. He made himself appear more relaxed, more calm so no one would realize the kind of emotions that lay just under the surface of his skin.

"Yes, and I so love to make you blush." It was so comforting to hear him speak. She blushed a little more, part of those cheeks hidden by the mask, which was better than showing a full on scale of blushing all night long, which of course she was sure she would do. "I feel ridiculous." But not at all did he look it. Pursed lips showed emotions of feeling for him. Even though he looked good in a suit, didn't mean she preferred him that way. Oh no. Helena had admired him in his natural element such as when they had first met. Even the rain had made things seem more spicy. His wet hair, the form he bore while under the plight of rainfall.
He looked good in anything really. It was a good thing he decided to come. She would have spent moments there miserable without him. Not knowing anyone. She was new to the city and even though New York was her current residence, she would have enjoyed going back home and being around those that spoke like her, lived as she did in the quiet comforts of her flat.
The slight squeeze of his hand felt so reassuring. He had shown her a respect of affection while all she could imagine was laying with him nestled into those wonderful arms and letting herself drift off into dreamland along with him. Hold his hand and know that he was right there with her.
She had thought that she had startled him previously with how she had indulged in the delights of mortals. Ritualistic acts had proven to be less sanctioned than anything any vampire had done. Luckily for her he was still there and didn't look at her any less different than before. "It wont be so terrible." Hopefully not, but still, there was always that lingering thought that something wasn't right, and she wasn't so sure she could fully trust her instincts in a room filled with their kind. Fortunately no one there could read her mind because it was whirling with a tremendous amount of thought.
Both hands held close to his in a relaxed and comforting way. Her center lined with his side as she turned her head away from him to wonder why so many there had failed to show a bit more effort in their attire. Maybe she was the one over dressed, but she didn't imagine that she was.
Shaden's head had turned and as she looked back to view sea glass hues she had followed her own greens in the direction of his viewing. A woman and two men latched at the arm. Someone important? She wasn't so sure. "Who is that?" She asked with a curious yet soft tone. If he had known more people than her, which of course she imagined so since he had spent a good amount of time in America, especially New York, then he would probably know who they were.
The woman was beautiful, she wouldn't deny that, but she seemed like a very dark soul who in the blink of an eye could cause destruction in her path. Not that Helena was against that. She had a very dangerous streak in herself that Shaden had yet to see. It was the curiosity that drove her the most now. It was only natural to ask. Wasn't it?
"Hello," A feminine voice chimed out and Helena had let her eyes drift to the direction of the blond before her. Not bad looking really, but then again, she wasn't really one to judge another on looks alone. She wasn't that shallow. It simply made it easier for her to swoon over her male companion because he was rather dreamy, handsome, able to compliment her like no other man had, but it was him himself that had drawn her to him.
Shaden had been far than kind to her. They shared interests, partial aspirations and their beliefs had been bound by coincidence. Not that she believed in coincidences as if they controlled the fates of people and the world, but it was he above who had sent him to her and she to him. They just seemed so right for each other. Right for her. Shaden. She could have whispered his name all night long as if she were summoning Bloody Mary over and over again.
"How do you do." Came her response to the woman before them. Shaden's greeting approached before her. Her own form of a greeting had been a rather quizzical one, giving the woman a chance to introduce herself first. Why let out the dragon so early when that dragon was eager to spit flames at anyone who would bother them. Not that she minded other peoples company. Not at all really, but she did wish she could forget about everyone else and feel like Cinderella if only for one night. Her Prince Charming was just too damn good to resist.
Her thumb had gently moved over the softness of the back of his hand without really meaning too. She loved the way his skin felt and didn't have to have such sexual thoughts about him the way most women would. But it helped her know that he was real. Really there with her, and it was because of her that he had shown.
So Helena let her serious yet shining soft smile entertain the blond. No fear in her because she didn't let anyone bully her around. Not even Sevanni whom she had stood up to partially as best as she could in the theater house without drawing attention from the mortal patrons. This woman, this....blond, would be no different.

Golden hues lingered blankly at the image of herself, a dancing yet stilled reflection as hands moved over fabric, fussing to ensure that folds and creases were presented in the appropriate way. A solid effort was being made to hold in her disgust for such an ensemble, but it had been what was delivered to England and even now as he mused over the horrendous dress Judge could do nothing but sing the fabrics praises. Aubrey would have preferred going in completely naked than wearing this abomination of attire, what a ruckus that would have provided. It was New York. The sodden waste land, a dark hole in the wall that she would have enjoyed plugging and forgetting about completely. This bastard state held nothing but annoying memories and the sickly stench of lives and time spent wasted and desolate. How anyone could choose to live here was beyond her comprehension, poor taste and shattered ambitions. With a breathy huff Judge was batted away, but he had lingered close by, smirking as if he had a secret hidden in the corners of his lips as fingers worked quickly to adjust the mask to fall in place with loosely curled brunette tendrils. "Tell me love, once again why I came to this haughty charade?" Judge allowed his face to fall, void of expression as he stepped back to admire her. "Because you promised your deviants a visit and although you deny it there is never an invitation that you refuse...aside from one that arrived from Egypt that you have yet to glance at." There was a low hum, already bored with the answer, feet shuffling her forward with light steps as she headed toward the door, turning back to glance at him through blank honey hues. "I wish you would come with me." You have two escorts already, there is no room for me my dove. Aubrey smiled softly, head tilting low as her head shook from side to side. "Judge...you odd old queen." She should have asked him to remain in England, there were things that needed to be accomplished in a short amount of time. Olivia needed to be released from her duties as well as escorted from the grounds after a painful reminder of why she should be grateful she was leaving with her dead heart still hidden safely inside of that chest. Casimir's chambers needed to be cleansed, ties severed and his resources and funds cut off. It was sad really, how quickly she had grown bored with her pet, but it was bound to happen eventually. Judge might not attend, but there was nothing that could have kept him from traveling to New York. Much like Kane and Abel, Judge was always with her, only he chose to sometimes remain in the shadows, watching from a distance. He gracefully slid forward now, his arm extending so that his hand rested on the small of her back, leading her out into the main area as the door slid open. When men are long gone, and stories are told by rabbits, I will keep the color of your eyes when none else is left to recall your name. Aubrey turned to him, a slight line furrowing across her brows as he leaned in and placed a kiss against the top of her head. It was always something with Judge, a melodramatic and somewhat poetic comment to keep her mind occupied for the evening. If thoughts lingered on his ridiculous quotes then there was no room for her interest to become piqued. If nothing caught her fancy then Aubrey would remain out of trouble. Foolish man he was. "Bloody Christ." Aubrey was about to respond, but the sound of Abel's voice stole away her attention as she found herself turning to the glorious chime. A moment was always taken to look over them. Naked, clothed, covered in blood and other foul and unpleasant things, it never mattered to her. Kane and Abel were beautiful, unfair really. Perfected and etched features, eyes that changed constantly with the ever erratic patterns of their moods, lips that pouted and held a natural tint that any woman would be jealous of. When she had found them she had never wanted anything so badly, but it wasn't just simply possessing them, Aubrey loved them for multiple reasons and it only escalated with every day because they maintained an uncomplicated attitude. Moving forward, a pleased pout spread across lightly painted lips, hues moving from one to another until she was drawing to a close touch. "You look absolutely smashing." Once perfected, winged brow rose slightly as her arms slipped into their own, holding each of them close as lids fell to cover golden tints away, relishing in everything that was her deviants. "I never look as good as the two of you all dolled up." Hummed softly as they led her on, Judge having already disappeared back into the room. Aubrey was distrusting of the vehicle that had come to escort them. In fact, the entirety of the evening had not completely sat well with her from the beginning. Judge was correct in one aspect, Aubrey rarely refused an invitation, even when it meant that she would have to visit the trenches of America. Curse the Gods she hated this country. "Can we raid the state tonight?" Aubrey looked up at Abel, tri-colored hues brightening as he displayed his impish qualities. It had been promised to them, but there were ways that they should have went about it that would have proved to be less obvious. "Fill the sky with blood and let there be a ring around the moon." A glance to Kane and she was sighing while fighting off a smile. Even he was pulling for the indecency. Nothing was said for a long while, the door being opened, settling themselves into the back of the car with one of her boys on either side of her. And she waited until the car had started moving forward, slender fingers dancing through the curls as she hummed softly. "As long as you do not get caught, you can do whatever you like after the ball." Not that she could ever deny them anything, they deserved a reward for dressing up. Dae and Nite had made little messes all throughout England, nothing compared to what Kane and Abel created on a regular basis, so Aubrey paid it no mind, but her boys did deserve to play on their turf, just to teach them how it was done.

The feelings that she inspired within him were numerous and vast to count on a list… Joy, because he was the one who made the promise to on the ring that rested on his ring finger. Happiness, because he was the one who would wake up every day and see that beautiful face. Bliss because he could be with her for the rest of her life. But to every coin, there are two sides. Sorrow, because every time she looks at him, she has to recall the horrible three days of his transformation by her hands. Sadness, because although he was the love of her life, he was also the person she thought she would have to take care of. He knew about all the people in her life that risked their lives to save her, and in the end, the price was indeed their lives. Now, here he was, swearing to the ring on their fingers that he would do the same. Victor Morte Ambrose, do you take Alianne Rose Shading to be your lawful wedded wife? I do. Do you promise to love and cherish her, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, for better for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her, for so long as you both shall live? I do. Do you together promise in the presence of your friends and family that you will at all times and in all circumstances, conduct yourselves toward one another as becomes Husband and Wife? We do. Do you together promise you will love, cherish and respect one another throughout the years? We do. [/blockquote] And now that promise scared Ali. Scared not for her own safety, but for Victor’s safety as well as for his own life… and that is why Victor’s coin has a responsibility for each side. Heads: To be the best he can be. To be the husband, lover, and most importantly the friend she can always depend on. Ali needs a guardian angel, and that is who he will become for her. Tails: To care not just of her, but for himself as well. He knows above her is him, and he needs to take care of himself in order for him to be able to take care of her. To stay alive and happy was all that she wanted from him, and so he has to make sure he does that… for her… "You look handsome. Are we ready to go? They said they would send a car for us." He looked towards the voice and saw the angel from his dreams… He had the look of stunned… Speechless… He snapped out of it, closed his eyes, shook his head slightly, looked at her again, and smiled. “You look… beautiful… like an angel.” He walked towards her, wrapping his arms around her, and kissed her. She was beautiful. Probably the most beautiful soul that anyone can ever look for. She has been, and forever will be the one for him. “I’m ready whenever you are. The car should be here by now.” He held his arm our, looking her in those gorgeous brown eyes, and asked her, “Shall we?” It reminded him of the wedding. Walking down the aisle with her arm in his… Only difference was that the aisle they were in now was a hotel hallway heading towards an elevator leading to the lobby, where they would find a black stretch limo leading them to their destination…. The ball was wonderful… Magnificence on top of excellence… They walked into the ballroom, and Victor was surprised by what he saw. He never attended one of these before, and although there was little color, he was still stunned. It was amazing… Looking to his side, he smiled. “Care for a dance?”

Suits. Parties. Social functions weren't that bad. It was the people the bothered him the most. He'd probably spend time boozing it up in the garden, that was until he had heard that Rose would be attending. Not only that, but he would get to see Ali in her own element. And the man she would be accompanied by. At least his old boss would be a no show. Having to be in the same room even though, like last time, no fighting was allowed. He wouldn't be in the arguing mood. Things were different now because he didn't have to be such a hard ass toward other people. He was still collecting bounties, but he was a freelancer, and he did his job the best out of many. The car pulled up to the place, the door opening and he stepped out, moving toward the entry to lay eyes on such a grand place. It was seemingly large, well composed with decorative items. Vampires sure did have taste, and they did their events with great aspiration. He spotted her as soon as he entered and made it toward the bar. Eyes moving over her as she walked up to a couple across the room. It wasn't like he would watch her all night. There were plenty of other things to do than drink and stalk. He'd get to her one way or another. Maybe save that couple the delight of her attention toward them. It sounded like a very intriguing idea. "Jack...." He looked at the man as if he needed to ask with anything, double, etc. He said nothing. Asked nothing. Hyde just had a certain way of letting people know he didn't want to be asked stupid questions. Anyway, Hyde looked like the type of guy who would take a double Jack straight. He'd take the whole bottle if he wanted, but oh, it wasn't the "polite" thing to do. Well screw polite. He could manage for the night though. Be polite and all gentlemanly like. Not a bad quality, but not his natural quality either. Note: It's short I know. I hate starting posts of entry

Just the look on his face alone was enough to make her smile. He looked stunned and yet happy at the same time. Was it her that had caused him to do this? Surely there was nothing that stunning about her? But she blushed slightly and shuffled her foot and then smiled more. "Thank you. I actually tried to look decent this time." She told him and gave a short, small chuckle.
As she had walked out he had seemed wrapped up in his own thoughts and she wondered what his mind had wandered to this time. At times she did the same thing but her day dreaming was so much more obvious. She wouldnt actually answer you until you gave her a light shove. And even then, at times, you needed to yell her name. But he offered his arm and of course she took it gently, the smile still placed on her lips and followed him off down the hotel hallway to the outside where the car was waiting for them. Just like he invite had said.
As they journeyed toward the ball, she couldnt help but wonder who all was going to be there? Would she see anyone she knew? More then likely she would see her best friend and cousin Rose. She tended to come to these things and at every one Ali had gone to Rose had been among the crowd of gorgeous people. If Rose was there, she would be the easiest one to spot. Not only because Rose had a certain flair of dressing, but also because of her scent. She knew Rose and Vic's scents better then her own. And if she had to, she would sniff Rose out like a hound dog.
The car ride was quick, and no incidents occured and she was thankful that she hadnt been thinking about being in a car. Cars and water were the only two things she feared more then anything else. It was absurd, she knew that, but still didnt change anything. Stepping out of the car she walked with Vic to the entrance, passing off the invite to the doorman and then walked inside to one of the most beautiful ball rooms they had set up yet.
Each year it seemed that the balls were even more elegant and beautiful. There were some people here already, not many, and all wearing masks. She herself had placed hers on not long ago, right before they walked in. And just like she had thought, she recognized Rose's scent. Her cousin was here somewhere and with a quick scan of the room she knew where Rose was. The dress was stunning on Rose and she could tell it was her cousin. She was talking to two other vampires so she decided now wasnt the time to bother.
But she also recognized another scent among the few there. Hyde. He was here. She only remembered it because she had met with him not long ago. Rose, her and Hyde. What an interesting little twist. But if he didnt start anything, she wouldnt start anything. She really did hate fighting.
Vic turned to her though with a smile and she smiled back at him, god she loved him. As he asked her to dance she chuckled and nodded. "Of course. When have I ever turned dancing down?" She asked him with a cheeky grin and then took his hand and tugged him out to the dance floor. It wouldnt be hard for others that knew her well enough to know that the girl behind the golden mask was indeed her. She was childish and had that cute little laugh and of course, she didnt care what others thought.
It was going to be a fun night.
