"Acid. It's Kodi. When you get this message, call me back as soon as you have a moment alone... It should be alright for Tristan to be with you, maybe even a good idea, but no one else. I've found out some disturbing news that I think you need to hear." With that, Kodiak hung up the phone, a snarl on his lips. He didn't know if Tristan was still with Acid or not, but if he was... Kodiak was sure the younger lycan would want to know this information.
Who would have thought that a vampire would have been so smart? His teeth bit down on the inside of his lip in annoyance. A vampire, creating a weapon to use against his kind. He had been investigating the vampire known as Sevanni Black, former coven leader of the London coven called The Black Nail Coven... Or BNC, as it was known on the streets. Acid had asked Kodi to track him, find out what he was up to. And what he had found was almost frightening. The bloodsucker had somehow managed to find a way to turn a lycan back into a human, and was even using it to turn those lycans into vampires. The thought alone was revolting. That was the reason Kodi had said it would probably be best for Tristan to be there as well... One of the pack members from his woman, Katra's, pack had been one of the wolves to fall prey to this syrum.
One he had found out what Sevanni was doing, he immediately had the entire formula destroyed, along with all the information pertaining to how to make it again. Even though it was gone, he still thought that Acid should know this bit of information. The Bane would have to be prepared for anything... And if the leaches were coming up with things like this to use against their race, they could come up with anything.
He was standing in the middle of central park, pacing impatiently, running his hands through his sandy blond hair. The wind picked up around him, swaying the trees, their leaves shining silver in the light of the waning moon, the smell of grass and woods all around him. "Phoenix McKenzie... Victor Ambrose..." Those were the two who he knew of who had been affected by this, and he had no idea if they were the only two isolated cases before Kodiak had destroyed the entire warehouse where the syrum was kept... Or if there was more than he was, as of yet, unaware of. And that thought bothered him. He also wondered if there was more of Sevanni's brew elsewhere... But, judging by how pissed Sevanni had been when he walked in and saw Kodiak slam the vials onto the ground, papers slung about and shredded beyond repair, he would say not.
Sevanni and Kodiak had gotten into a fight, but Kodiak had been forced to retreat. Sevanni had more vampires in the building, and they had begun to swarm him. The only reason that none of them had come after him, was because the sun was rising. He had went back and blew up the building several hours later, but all of them had somehow managed to get out, much to his dismay.

Kokia Luxin looked across the city on top of the building she was currently standing on. A harsh wind blew up against her and she didn't like it one bit. The intensity of the dark vibrations in the air was enough to send chills running up and down her back. Katra had given her the information on Nixie's location and it upset her that she was in the States and Kia had not known about it. And she'd wasted all that time traveling to Paris to search out Katra only to discover Nixie's whereabouts.
Sighing, she jumped down from the building onto a nearby fire escape before descending down the metal ladder. Shoving her hands into her pockets, Kia glared against the wind that continued to push up against her. This just wasn't her night.
After Kia had finally managed to get to New York, located this "Sevanni Black's" apartment, there was neither hide nor hair of the vampire or of Phoenix. But the smell was definitely there. The scent of burnt building was nearby as well, in addition to a small swarm of vampires. What in the hell was going on. There was even another werewolf in the area whose scent she didn't recognize.
But...he'd been there.
Kia spent the rest of that time tracing the scent of the male werewolf. He had done a bit of searching here and there, winding around half the city blocks before finally deciding to make his way toward Central Park. If this werewolf knew what happened to one of her best friends, Kia would demand to know the answers. She needed to know where the hell her friend was.
Rounding the corner and heading toward the entrance of the park, Kia's nostrils were filled with the scent of the werewolf and she immediately raced toward it. Once she was less than twelve feet from him, she paused, her boots scraping across the concrete loudly enough to get his attention. She heard the last bit of his words and her friend's name was among the two mentioned.
Kia growled, her fangs elongating slightly as her eyes narrowed. "Who are you? How do you know of my friend, Phoenix?" This time she didn't hide the growl that grew with volume, her nails growing in her pockets as the hair on the back of her neck stood on end. "I'll let you walk away unharmed depending on your answer."

He wondered exactly how long the vampires had been working on this... And if there was another serum somewhere in another facility. He doubted it, and if there was, he would find it. He had made sure to destroy the two females who had something in their blood that had allowed them to create the vile stuff to begin with. One had been a vampire, and he had no qualms about killing her. The other one, her twin, had been a lycan. He ran a agitated hand through his sandy blond hair, ignoring the stubborn bit of hair that fell into his face. For once, not concerned with it as his mind raced to find the answers. He would, of course, look further into this matter, ordered or not. The last thing he wanted was to have left something behind for them to pick up where they left off. That could be their most powerful and dangerous weapon, and he couldn't allow such a weapon to be in existence.
His body tensed as he smelled the scent of another werewolf in the area. Female, and she was heading his way. Just as he went to turn around, he heard boots skidding on concrete. He turned to fully face the female, his icy blue hues glancing her over. Her body posture was hostile, tense and ready for a fight. He stood there, placing his hands in his pockets in a casual display of calmness. It was a illusion, however. His eyes got a tint of yellow around the edges of glacier blue, and muscles rippled beneath skin, well hidden by a long sleeved button up white shirt. He stepped out with his right foot ever so slightly, so that it would be easier for him to dodge her, should she attack him.
Who are you? How do you know of my friend, Phoenix? He quirked a eyebrow at the Asian female, thinking on his answer for a long moment. Before he could decide on a course of action, however, the female began making threats, a growl ripping through her throat. I'll let you walk away unharmed depending on your answer. A answering growl to echo her own.
"Lady, I don't know who you are, but making threats is not a good way to go about getting what you want from me. You want to know what's happened to your friend? Try a different approach, because you won't get shit from me otherwise." Though his words may have seemed harsh, his voice was soft. Velvet lacing over steel in a smooth deception. He wouldn't give her any kind of information with a attitude like that, demanding answers from him when he didn't have a clue who the hell she was. And he would have to be careful about exactly what he told her... Perhaps if she loosened up a bit and backed off the threats, he would tell her. This most definitely was curious timing, but he wouldn't think about that later. If she knew Phoenix, she was possibly part of the same pack that the girl had once belonged to. He wouldn't hold information from her, at least, as far as a need to know basis went. He still had his duty to the Bane, after all.

She heard the menacing growl coming from the other male and Kia instantly prepared herself for an attack. She didn't care of this guy didn't want to spill. She'd make him give her the information she wanted. Glaring at him hotly, she watched as his lips parted, his pale eyes like ice and cutting at him like the cold winter wind.
"Lady, I don't know who you are, but making threats is not a good way to go about getting what you want from me. You want to know what's happened to your friend? Try a different approach, because you won't get shit from me otherwise."
Kia straightened up to her full height, the wind brushing against the both of them as her hair whipped around her gently. "Listen up," she said, her tone even and completely serious. "I've been searching for my friend for days now. I find her location here after hearing about her being kidnapped by another friend of ours and by the time I get here, I find you and the words out of your mouth are my friend's name." Her eyes narrowed, the cerulean hues completely fed up with all this bullshit involving Sevanni and the kidnapping of her best friend. "So excuse me if I sound just a little pissed off right now."
She took a few steps toward him, not bothering with putting up any kind of defense. Kia wasn't going to attack. Instead, she was going to show this brute just how fuckin' serious she was about getting the information she wanted. Taller than her, it mattered not. Kia wasn't screwin; around. She'd wasted too much time already.
"So unless you have information for me that will help me in my search, I'd appreciate it if you got out of my way. I can't afford to waste time right now with you, whoever you are."
And she didn't. Offended or not, this male was going to tell her what she wanted to know or get the hell out of her way. Nixie could have been in all kinds of danger at this point. Her only choice was to plow through headfirst any obstacles in her way.
And this lycan was definitely an obstacle.

He analyzed her as she stood up to her full height, a considerable amount for a Asian female. He smiled slightly, just a small, hardly noticeable upturn of his lips, which with a slight tilt to his head, was quickly hidden from her sight. Listen up, I've been searching for my friend for days now. I find her location here after hearing about her being kidnapped by another friend of ours and by the time I get here, I find you and the words out of your mouth are my friend's name.
The next thing that caught his attention was her eyes. A strange shade of blue that was captivating, and seemed just as sharp as any blade ever crafted. He had no doubt she could stop most people in their tracks with a glare from those eyes. Very few people had a air about them that screamed authority, but she did. So excuse me if I sound just a little pissed off right now.
The female took a few steps closer to him, invading his space, and looking more determined than ever to have her answers. This time he did flash a smile at her, a thought popping up in his head that he found very amusing for some reason. Sometimes he saw some of the most inappropriate things amusing. It was one of the things Acid got onto him a lot about. So unless you have information for me that will help me in my search, I'd appreciate it if you got out of my way. I can't afford to waste time right now with you, whoever you are.
The smile vanished from his lips just as quickly as it appeared, all signs of amusement gone. Not because he was upset at her words, he actually could respect her for wanting to help her friend. But because he was going to give her information that was sure to shock, disturb, and upset her... At the very least. "My name is Kodiak Sangras, Miss. And yeah.. I have some information about your friend, Phoenix... But I'm telling you, you're not going to like it."
He sighed and took a deep breath before deciding to just tell her. She had a right to know the fate of her friend. "I've been investigating a vampire named Sevanni Black for some time now, and I stumbled across one of his warehouses here in New York. It held a type of vaccine... Something that he created with the intention of using against lycans. It reverses the lycan gene in our DNA and turns us human again." He growled slightly, still extremely pissed at just the idea, running a agitated hand through his sandy blond hair. "I destroyed it, of course, along with all documents pertaining to how to make it, and two girls he was using to help make it using their DNA."
Another short pause as he looked up at the woman, since he had been avoiding her gaze, not liking having to tell her this information one bit. "Your friend fell victim to this vaccine... And then was turned into a vampire by Sevanni." There was no easy way to put it, and even if there was, he wasn't one to sugar coat things. He didn't think that this woman would want him to beat around the bush either. She looked like the no-fucking-around, all-business, type of female. "I'm sorry. I know her pack Alpha, Tristan, and he'll be devastated to find out... That's who I was leaving a message for when you heard me say her name. She was one of two of our kind to fall prey to this before I could destroy all traces of it... At least in this place. I'm not sure about the rest of the world that Sevanni has ties in, however."

Kia could sense that he was looking at her - sizing her up. But she didn't care. She would take him down if he so much as toyed or screwed with her. She didn't have time for this and she needed to find her friend as soon as possible. Kia was concerned that something might have happened to Nixie and if things got crazy, then Kia didn't know what would be thrown her way. Anything from Vampires to Werewolves. It mattered not. She probably was going to be placed in some kind of trap. But Kia cared not if it involved either Katra or Nixie.
Those two were her world. More so than her own "sisters" back in Athens.
The werewolf's eyes, crystal blue, stared back at her own cerulean hughes intensely. Kia's orbs narrowed slightly. Why was he staring at her like that? The hint of a smile formed on his lips and Kia felt her anger flaring. Did he think that this was funny? She had half a mind to punch him out right there. However, she kept her cool and cleared her head of all anger. No. Anger would not help things. Seriousness, however, would say enough. Kia wasn't fuckin' around anymore. Time was of the essence.
The smile faded and Kia frowned a bit further. Well at least he was taking things seriously now. She waited for him to speak, arms folding against her chest during the wait. "My name is Kodiak Sangras, Miss. And yeah.. I have some information about your friend, Phoenix... But I'm telling you, you're not going to like it." Kia's eyes narrowed. So, his name was Kodiak Sangras. She felt her fangs growing inside her mouth, but she pursed her lips closed tightly. She didn't want to appear aggressive, but the fact that he was already getting ready to tell her something she didn't like just made her prepare for the information even more. "I've been investigating a vampire named Sevanni Black for some time now, and I stumbled across one of his warehouses here in New York. It held a type of vaccine... Something that he created with the intention of using against lycans. It reverses the lycan gene in our DNA and turns us human again."
Kia's eyes relaxed and her lips parted, arms sliding out of their folded state against her chest. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. In fact, she didn't even want to hear what else was about to come out of this lycan's mouth. Kia, somehow, already knew the next thing that was going to happen. Watching him run a hand through his hair, Kia's brows furrowed as she looked up at himi, eyes cutting like razors through glass as she waited for him to continue. God, did she want to hear more? But she had to...for Phoenix. "I destroyed it, of course, along with all documents pertaining to how to make it, and two girls he was using to help make it using their DNA."
Kodiak finally looked at her and the emotion filling his gaze was something she did not enjoy seeing. She didn't want to see his face...so pitiful looking. No! That meant that there was more disturbing things to be told. Kia wanted to wring him by the scruff of his collar and demand that he shut his damn mouth. Any more and she'd go crazy. "Your friend fell victim to this vaccine... And then was turned into a vampire by Sevanni."
This time, Kia let out a gasp of outrage, a fire igniting both in her heart and in her eyes. The glinted with a ferocity that she'd never known. She had no problems with vampires...she didn't. But to have one of her own turned into such a thing. And Nixie! She couldn't have possibly gone along with it. She had as much pride as any pure blooded wolf, as though she were a wolf her whole life, and her pride rivaled Kia's. There was no damn way she went along with this willingly. She was transformed into a Night Walker against her will. She turned her eyes away from Kodiak, her hands curling into fists and she felt the nails digging into the palms. They tore through the skin and blood dripped from inside the folds of her fingers. Her fists and shoulders visibly shook with the intense rage she was feeling.
"Just...be quiet..." Kia sucked in air through her teeth, trying not to let her tears succumb to the rage burning inside of her. She closed her eyes. "No more...just stop." Pulling herself together, she looked back up at Kodiak and felt the frown deepening on her face. There she stood, looking at him for a moment longer before turning away from him again. She shoved her hands into the pockets of her jacket and sighed as a gust of wind blew up against them. "I appreciate the information you've given me, Kodiak. I'll have to repay you someday. I couldn't have come across this on my own. This Sevanni Black...he'll pay. I'll tear him limb from limb, on that you can count on." Turning only her head to look at Kodi once more, she didn't care that her raven hair was being blown in various directions. Staying in New York was pointless now. She needed to follow up where Nixie's trail fell off and where she was going. "Kokia Luxin...that's my name. If you need a favor in the future and you feel I can help you...then come find me. I'm sure for someone like you, that won't be a trying task."
