The brisk cold air nipped at her skin. She would have normally shivered, but she was immune to the cold now. She'd been around it so much lately, it wasn't bothering her any longer. Now it was just another climate. Another temperature drop. Pulling her Sergeant jacket closer to her frail frame. The last time she'd been in Las Vegas was for a commercial shoot, that didn't work out well at all. Resulted in a one of a kind Rose Decumbry temper tantrum. Few felt her wrath of it, and many felt the aftermath of it. A ticking time bomb, dangerous and fused.
Not to mention a vampire life-style added to it.
She swiped at her full bangs, and strode down the street. Such a feline. She suddenly wished she bought her purse, to make her feel more feminine. But there wasn't an need for it. Prada heels making quite the sound on the sidewalk. She rounded a corner, eyes casting on only a few lucky souls. A poor, unfortunate soul bumped into her, and kept walking. She stopped dead in her tracks. A blank face staring ahead.
Stupid, Stupid mortal.
She whirled around, weaving in and out, his scent heavy on her nose. He wouldn't forget her warning. She caught up to him rather quickly, and pinned his shoulder against the wall. "Look here, and listen hard. You don't apologize for running into me within the next 5 seconds your gonna end up dead. Got it? 1."
The man looked at her like she was crazy. "Are you kidding me? You ran into me. Get it straight." He shook his head, laughing. This angered Rose to a point of no end. She placed her forearm up against his neck, pressing hard. "2....3....4.." She would kill him by choking the life out of him. His face was paling, his words barely coming out. "What was that?" She said it a little sweetly, a Dresden doll.
"I'm sorry."
She peeled her arm off of his neck, watching him fall to the ground. "That's better." She pet his head softly, and turned. Prada heels continued to click, and she stopped on the street. What? The feeling was alien. Something that only happened for a few months, or years. But, he was dead. The smells that wafted her nose belonged to two people she loved. One who was supposed to be dead. Her sire, Anthony. He died..after he left her. And Ali. She knew she'd smell Ali, because well Ali was currently residing here.
She tried to get away from the scent, quickening her strides. She licked her lips, and kept her eyes down. Ugh. This wasn't happening.
She was to beautiful, far too experienced for this games. Other scents could be like someone else's, right? Yeah. Because Ali and her had a similar scent. Floral. But hers was strictly Rose's. Ali's was many flowers. But they were family.
Did he have a family?
He certainly didn't act like it when he moved in on her. She sucked in a breath, seeing now she had walked herself onto an empty street. The feeling eerie and..horror-film like. A fog had suddenly rolled in. "Hells Bells." A light and breezy, British accent rang out in the quiet night. The soft voice of a child, almost. "Who the hell cast me in a horror film. I know I sure as hell didn't." She let out a little scowl and snarl.
She closed her eyes, opening her ears and nose. There was muffle movement, but this was Las Vegas. When wouldn't there be movement? The scents still teased at her. "What the fucking hell is going on?" A darkened British accent now, was one that wasn't meant for messing around.
She was Bitch Rose now.

Leaning against the wall where one of the outdoor shows were she took in a small breath. It was a clear night and the air was fresh. It had rained a few hours ago and it was one of those rare times that Vegas actually found itself somewhat wet. The sidewalks still held that darker color and damp feeling and Ali could smell the moisture in the air. It also sharpened everything. The smells of the money and the alcohol. It really was sin city. And she had been back and forth here since she had been turned. But now she was here because of Vic. Pulling her cell phone out of her pocket she checked the time on it and let out a small sigh. Vic would probably start to get worried about her. She had been out since the sun set. So moving away from the side, taking one last look at the swirling waters in front of the Belagio hotel she started on her way back home. It was a bit of a walk..but then again, she had been walking most of her life. This was nothing.
Passing people in the street she noticed those with family members and those with children and some who were with friends. She wished her life could be that simple. But no, her life had never been that simple since day one. Her parents being killed...being turned, the whole thing with Sevanni and everything else that had played out in her life that could be hired out as a TV drama show. The days of a fucked up vampires life! She chuckled slightly at her small joke and then stopped in her tracks as a man walked by her rubbing his neck and muttering about some psycho blonde midget. Tilting her head she had a bad feeling about this. She only knew one blonde girl that could possibly be considered psycho. And that was her cousin Rose. The wind shifted slightly and sure enough Rose's scent drifted to her. Along with another one that seemed vaguely familiar but that she couldnt exactly place.
Giving a heavy sigh she walked towards the scent and followed to where it lead. She noticed Rose, muttering to herself about a horror movie. "Well Rose darling, if this is a horror movie wouldnt the bad guy have killed you by now?" She told her with a gentle grin. She didnt know why her cousin was here but she was glad to see her. "It looks like your lost. Come on. Ill help you out. And no worries...Im not an ax murderer out to slice you up." Giving a wink she touched Rose's shoulder lightly and chuckled once more. But she had to say, Rose was somewhat right. It felt...different somehow. Something was going on and she didnt like it. Was it that scent? A small shiver coursed through her small frame and it wasnt from the cold even though all Ali had on was a pair of black jeans and a navy blue tank top, her dark hair behind her back. "Lets get out of here...."

There was a rumbling growl from deep within his throat as he reached the top of the roof from the stairwell. This part of Vegas had been one of the many faves. Walking along the rooftops, jumping from flat to flat and letting shit kickers stomp the ground of which he walked. There was a thick cement coating on this one, moving closer to the center and looking up at the sky for a bit of direction.
Hyde knew Rose was in the state. Perhaps the city it's self because he could feel her presence. There were many signs of a good night. The blood ring around the moon. Some stars more visible than others and they kept their distance from the moon it's self. His overcoat was long, heavy and thick as he always wore it. Hidden treasures inside had taught Rose a long time ago that he was a magician of many talents.
Throughout time he had managed to keep his coat on and end up using what was inside to his advantage. Not only that, but his liquor and smokes were inside as well. Fuck with that, and it was back to Wonderland for them.
Then the scent was picked up. somehow catching an updraft with the wind. The direction, East. His feet moved briskly over the rooftop, marching before sprinting with vampyric speed and jolting across from one roof top to the other.
When he paused in the center it had started to move north east, which meant they were somewhere close by. But he was on the roof, which meant he had to look downward to the streets.
Vegas was his kind of place. Booze, women, violence. You could get rid of a body in the desert like a mafia hitman and be done with all the bullshit by sunrise. No need for that. Hyde didn't just feed from humans or vampires and werewolves. He devoured their entire body if the blood was that good. A cannibal or sorts. Learned from the master of eating fresh human 101.
Not something that can be learned surely, but Hyde had an unusual appetite and a high level of meat rather than just blood. Though his body would reject normal food of all kinds, sometimes his body didn't agree with certain meats he came across. Like Eskimo's or Mexicans and the Hindu. Mainly everything else settled fine.
Hyde leaned over the edge of the building, peeking eyes down and opening his ears to the marvelous picture below. Ahhh, if only he had a camera. Click! A mental capture was better than nothing. How lovely to see the two of them there. "Well Rose darling, if this is a horror movie wouldn't the bad guy have killed you by now?" Hyde grinned at that very comment. Lucky for them, their horror movie killer was so close by. "It looks like your lost. Come on. Ill help you out. And no worries...Im not an ax murderer out to slice you up." But he was. And now it was time to pay them a visit Michael Meyers style. "Lets get out of here...."
That was his cue.
Eyes darted around the area, who cared if anyone saw. They would think they were crazy and whoever told and spilled the beans would be committed to Stratham or some such place.
Hyde pushed forward, his coat drifting up with the wind as his body jumped down. The cement below crumbling into cracks and damaged concrete as shit kickers hit hard. His body hunched low before he rose, directly in front of the pair as they turned to walk onward.
"Leaving so soon?" He spoke with a mocking sadness and a pout. "Don't leave on my account just yet ladies." The viciousness in his eyes were apparent, but still, there was a subtleness about him that was still visible. He took a single step closer toward them, lurking like a slithering serpent. "I do hate to dine alone." He grinned devilishly, waiting for some sort of charged reaction.

Her head shot up quickly, at the scent arrival of Ali. She turned around, and smiled. Finally her body picked up the end. "Well Rose darling, if this is a horror movie wouldn't the bad guy have killed you by now?" She let out a snort of a laugh. "Ali. He saves the best for last. When was the last time you watched one of them?" Her mouth was tugged to a crooked grin, but her eyes were drop dead serious. She didn't trust anything right now. Not herself. Not the surroundings. She'd throw Ali out of the way if she needed to again. "It looks like your lost. Come on. Ill help you out. And no worries...Im not an ax murderer out to slice you up." Her touch alone sent a dangerously cold feeling to her toes. "Yeah. We have something most killers don't. Fangs." She tilted her head to the side, letting a short nervous laugh. She looked around once more, that scent bothering her even more. It was so close to her. So close it would smother her.
"Lets get out of here...." She nodded, and began walking cautiously in front of Ali. She'd protect her little cousin. She always would. Her ears picked something up from above. Looking up instantly, Rose knew it was for the worse. A figure coming down. She blocked Ali with her body, arms out behind her, and letting out a slow, low hiss.
Hyde.
It was impossible. She pushed the thought of her mind, focusing on protecting Ali. She may have been a 'midget' but she was a hell of a whirlwind. "Leaving so soon?" She took a deep breath in. "Yeah, actually we were. Your blocking our way." She said darkly, and leaned back toward Ali. "I want you to run." For those ears only. "Don't leave on my account just yet ladies."
"That's too bad Hyde. I don't like speaking with my biggest fan unless I have a bodyguard." A stab at his infatuation with her. The past infatuation she had with him. The long past that existed hundreds of years ago. When she knew who he was, or what he was faking to be.
A shuddering breath escaped her pale lips.
"I do hate to dine alone." She hissed through her teeth. He wouldn't touch Ali. Never. Her, he could pretty much slice her, he had sliced her. But never Ali. "I suggest you skip to the next town..Anthony." The last word she spoke came followed by quick breaths.
There. She'd said it. The one person she loved when she was young and naive. Hyde was Anthony. Anthony was Hyde. This bastard sired her. She wanted to throw her arms around him and stab the fucking hell out of him. "Why'd you come back? You made it clear you didn't want me when you left." A snide comment, that reopened another wound.
An ancient wound.
She took a couple steps forward, so that she was now a good two feet in front of Ali, which made her closer to Hyde. Blue hues shown intensely through some bangs. This bastard had nerve coming down and doing this. In front of her little cousin too. "Go. I know you probably wanna have a little romantic abuse on me but go." She meant it threateningly. But why was her voice shaking? She had Tyson now. Her real love. Not this skip town-as-soon-as-I-change-a-teenager-into-a-vampire-bastard.

"Leaving so soon?"
That voice. Now she knew she had heard that voice before. It had been a voice in her worst nightmares. It belonged to the person she feared and hated and had never seen in over seven years. And had never planned on seeing again. No it couldnt be him could it? It wasnt possible! But then why would just three little words make her stiffen up and her body scream at her to run. And make fear and hate bounce through her blood stream. As soon as he landed down in front of them though, that sealed the deal. She knew him. It was her sire. The one that killed her parents. The only family she had. The only family she had until Vic and Rose that is. And of course Kat. But he didnt need to know that her older sister had in fact survived. Would this vampire even recognize her? Would he know the girls life he destroyed from just looking at her in the dark light of an alleyway? Would he?
Rose had asked when the last time it was she had watched a horror movie. Truth be told, she hadnt seen one for over six years now. She had watched one the year she was sixteen. Since then she had stayed away from those things. She preferred to just stay away from movies period. To many things she always saw that she wanted or liked and could never have. So what was the point. But Rose had a point. When had they been drafted into a horror movie? She sure as hell hadnt picked this. She would have rather been walking home to Vic with her cousin by her. But no, fate loved to screw around with her. And Rose had been right once more. The killer in question had waited until the last minute to make his appearance. And what an entrance. This wasnt looking to good. Her body was in pure shock to. If it broke into a fight she would probably just stand there in disbelief.
It was Rose's words that brought her out of it. "I suggest you skip to the next town..Anthony." Anthony! Her sire Anthony?! No..it couldnt be. This man had destroyed them both and now he had the nerve to walk right in front of them and make them fidget? Oh hell no. She wasnt going to take this. How dare he! He had destroyed her life seven years ago and destroyed Rose's even longer then her. This man had to pay and she felt the anger rolling through her blood. The vampire side that she never ever wanted to let loose. Maybe it was a trait she had inherited from this bastard. She never could get rid of the blood thirsty and killer in her. Just keep it under control. Looking in front of her at Rose, she didnt take her advice at all. She was not going to run like some wounded animal. Like some coward. When she was fifteen she had no choice in the matter. He had trapped her and turned her.
Well that was not going to be the case now. She was a vampire that HE had created. That had to be worth something. He had left her there. Like dead meat. Didnt care what happened to her. Just like he had abandoned Rose. And of course she wanted to strangle him for the deaths of her parents. To this day she didnt understand why he had picked her family. Why he had picked her to carry off and drop here in this godforsaken place. Why she had to grow up to be fifteen and then he found her again. Had he been trying to kill her again? Or had he meant to make her a vampire? Why? Why? Why? Why? Thats when she found her voice again. "Why..." She whispered. It was soft and not powerful at all. But it contained the venom she felt towards him. Walking up a little closer she glared at him. "Why?!" She yelled at him and her eyes narrowed to slits, and went from dark brown to red.
"Why my family? Why me!! How dare you! HOW DARE YOU!!!" She yelled and growled at him.

"I suggest you skip to the next town..Anthony." Rose spoke it. Spoke first and only even. His eyes lowered as a snarl lifted over his mouth and nose. Brows lowering to match the coldness in his eyes to the sound of that name. A name he himself, even Sevanni or those above him would never dare to call him. "Watch it fledgeling." He spoke warning tones, deep and unenthused to such aspects of that name. Even before she had never said it to him, except when he had left. Just before. There was always a feeling inside of him to flee the young ones. He wasn't a lioness to the cubs.
"Why'd you come back? You made it clear you didn't want me when you left." His head lifted, chin rising as he looked down at her. A familiarity behind her and he let eyes rear around Rose for a moment. A subtle grin crossing features. My how she had grown. He had heard Ali's name ring out back at the coven house last year, but he had never expected to see her this way.
"My dear foolish Rose.....No matter where you are...you will always belong to me." He spoke nearly chuckling. "You are of my blood....remember that." He nearly snapped. The soft words behind her had turned his attentions to Ali. "Why..." A bit of curiosity reach her mind? Still thinking about old times then.
"Why my family? Why me!! How dare you! HOW DARE YOU!!!" The first yelling didn't bother him so much. It was to be expected for what he had done to her, but he didn't owe her an excuse.
Within a split second he had found himself around Rose and up in front of Ali. Moving so she would move against the side of the building by stepping back. Words were spoken so low and as he looked down into those lovely eyes of hers, wanting so much to pop them out and eat them as he had done to Rose's eye.
"Because I could." He spoke simply. Cutting eyes to Rose while remaining alert to their actions. Two women, one man. It was a good night already.
He lifted away from her so he wouldn't seem so threatened, centering the two at a good distance so he could see everything. Both of them. "I have upset the two of you....." He spoke serenely and bowed his head sympathetically. "But you can't say you don't appreciate the new lives you have."
Hyde stepped a bit closer, the two of them were closer than he had hoped, and he looked toward Rose with a hand laid against her cheek. "Fame, fortune, beauty....." His hand was removed and he looked toward Ali.
"Beauty, brains, the high tolerance for pain." A little grin. Oh the tales he heard about her encounter with the sadistic vampire Black. "A loss as great as yours has turned you into what you are today.....don't I get a thank you?" He spoke it with a great urgency for a punch. He wouldn't allow that, not without something in return.
Hyde stepped back, reaching into one of the many pockets of that coat, pulling out a cigarette and lighter, putting it to lips to light and take an oh so needed drag. Flicking the Zippo shut and returning them to their rightful storage place. "You would be dead now if it weren't for me. Rotting in the fucking ground without so much as a memory to spare. Now look at ya's.....ungrateful in every way." He snickered and exhaled some smoke after taking another hit.

"Watch it fledgeling." Fledgling. That's what she'd always been to him. A fledgling. A foolish child. That bit lashed at her deeply, the wound in her heart beating faster the it had for awhile. "No." The voice was shaking. "You can't tell me what to do. You may have been my sire but you aren't my father." Her father. A man she hated almost as much as Hyde and Sevanni. The tears were threatening beyond her hues, but she wouldn't let them fall. Wouldn't let him see the satisfaction of her downfall. "My dear foolish Rose.....No matter where you are...you will always belong to me." Her eyes shifted downward. He was right. "I won't belong to you. Ever. Your a sick, twisted, man. Bringing my hopes up, as a little girl! You knew it too! You said everything right, and made me feel special." Her upper lip curled. "I have someone who filled your spot."
"You are of my blood....remember that." She laughed a little bit. Wrong again. "You may have sired me, with your blood. But I am not your blood. My blood is long gone dead. My blood was killed after you left me. My blood resides in my body, every fucking family member I've killed. Their blood is in me. I will never be your blood."
His movements around her and to Ali left her breathless. He moved on just as quickly. She didn't dare to turn around.
"Because I could."
The searing rage in her was about mid point now. He was disgusting. A disgrace to their kind. "You took a family away from her because you could? Hy-Anthony," She said his name in acid. "You have no right. If you wanted a meal you should have stuck with mine. Stay away from my little cousin." A shuddery voice, and closed eyes. She turned.
He almost had her pinned against a wall, and she let out a ripping snarl. She wouldn't go after him. Not when he had the room to get Ali like that. "I have upset the two of you....." "Damn right you did." A low growl sent from her core. Right now, this schoolboy crush was getting annoying.
Sickly twisted schoolboy crush.
"Fame, fortune, beauty....." His hand on her cheek, almost made her face crumble. The only sign of it, was deep in her eyes. The touch was still there. "Get your hand off of me.."
"Beauty, brains, the high tolerance for pain." She glared daggers at him, and swatted his hand away. How dare he touch her like they were still one. How dare he know about them. How dare he take her and leave her.
"A loss as great as yours has turned you into what you are today.....don't I get a thank you?" Eyes widened in rage, and shock. He wanted a Thank You?!Her nostrils flared, and her lips screwed up. Rage. An ugly rage. Something that was reserved especially for Anthony.
"You would be dead now if it weren't for me. Rotting in the fucking ground without so much as a memory to spare. Now look at ya's.....ungrateful in every way." She let out a high, bellish, tinker laugh. She couldn't help it. Soon enough she had to hold her stomach, tears poking at the corners of her closed eyes. This continued for a few moments. She walked up to him, wiping at her eyes.
"You think we're ungrateful Anthony? You want a thank you? Hm. I'd choose being dead any day over being right next to you." A grimace. "I used to love you. Used to want to spend every waking minute with you." She wisped a hand over his features with the back of her hand, barely touching him. "And look at the monster you've become. Was it because of me?" She was purring at him now. "Did my killing happen to awaken your inner demons?" She smirked wickedly. "Well then I know this might spark him again." She raised her left hand and smacked him across the face.
"That was for leaving me to die."
She spat at his feet.
"And that's for not calling you selfish bastard." She didn't dare move away from him. She held her eyes on his face. The face that could have been beautiful. Could have been with hers. For one second, a glimmer of remorse showed vulnerably on her face. She could have loved that face.
But the love was gone now. Replaced by a burning hatred. This man destroyed her. This man corrupted her. Made her kill all her family, because he didn't have the responsibility to make sure she lived. She died at his whim. Lost her virginity, and mortal life, at his whim. That was what made her grow to hate him over one hundred and twenty years.

Listening in on their conversation and not doing anything would have been the safe thing to do. And their conversation was interesting all right. Hyde sure was making it his point to push Rose's buttons. She couldnt believe he was talking to her that way. And she couldnt believe Rose was taking it. Had anyone else said these things they would be dead right now. And if that other person was a vampire, they would be in one hell of a fight right now. Rose could be a hellfire when he needed. Ali herself had been a target once when Rose wasnt acting like herself. When the monster was out. And she had to wonder...Was it all Hydes fault? Was it his fault they were monsters? Because no matter how gentle Ali was over all, there was the killer in her. The lust for blood and for the hunt. One of her most vivid memories was her first time snapping. Not having control over the vampire side. Killing all those people.
It was her biggest regret. But at his words that Rose had his blood inside her she let out a small scoff. Rose may have had to drink his blood to be turned but it didnt mean she was his. She had her families bloodline in her. Thats why they smelt so similar and yet different. Rose like roses and her like wildflowers and her sister like lilies. It was a floral thing. Kat had no part of him and yet they still were all similar to each other. That was proof enough that he wasnt a major part of them. He was just the sire. The one that had created them. And since he had abandoned her, she didnt know about Rose, but she felt no connection to him. No link at all. No worship or fatherly daughterly companionship. Nothing. She hated him. She hated him with a burning passion. It wasnt a feeling she was used to. She never had hated someone so much in her life as this man standing there right now.
But Ali was never one to stay on the safe side. Her words to him were ones she wanted to know. No..she needed to know. Why? Why did he attack a family of four. Two little girls of only six and seven and their parents. What had been so intriguing? What had been the major factor for it? She had wondered all these years and had come to the terms that she would never know. That her sire would never appear in her life ever again. But that little theory was blown out the window. Here he was. Right there but a few feet from her. And he had all the answers to that one horrible, bloody night. In fact, she could still see him come crashing in chasing after her sister after Kat had caught him feeding off their mother. Their father already dead and limp on the ground. Kat had tried protecting her and been tossed to the side so hard Ali believed her dead. And then he took her. Dropped her here...And changed her many years later.
Suddenly he was in front of her and she was forced to take a step back until she was backed up against the wall. A place she did not want to be in. It made her feel cornered. Trapped. And she was not going to give him the satisfaction of watching her squirm. She kept her chin up, her eyes defiant and her lips sealed of course. She was known for that. At least to Sevanni who had never been able to get a single bit of information out of her in every single occasion they had met. Hyde wouldnt get her to mutter frights of him. Deep down she should have been scared of him. He was much stronger then her because of age, but she didnt give a damn. Her anger was winning out.
"Because I could." Those words were enough to set her blood on fire and make her want to attack him. A growl slipped through her lips and teeth that were clenched. But before she could attack him, he moved away from her.
He must have known he was a bit outnumbered and so needed to keep up his guard. She moved back away from the wall and closer to Rose, but her stance was different. She was ready to attack now. Her body was relaxed to anyone that wasnt looking close enough. But she had been through some training for her old job and so she wasnt that scared little girl that had been attacked seven years ago and didnt know how to defend herself.
"Fame, fortune, beauty....." His hand was on Rose's cheek. And she was amazed he wasnt ripping his head off. It really was an interesting turn of events. But before she could utter a sound his look turned to her. And he had some words to follow.
"Beauty, brains, the high tolerance for pain." Her high tolerance for pain. He was grinning at her. So he had heard. But of course, he probably knew Sevanni. Heard the stories of their little encounters. None of them were pleasant and normally ended with her bleeding and cut up. "My tolerance to pain....Whats it to you. It didnt come from you. Thats for sure." She snarled at him. Finally speaking up.
"A loss as great as yours has turned you into what you are today.....don't I get a thank you?" After Rose had her own words to add she snarled and took a small step closer to him. "A thank you? You want a thank you?! Are you an idiot? Or are you just touched in the brain? Im never thanking you for what you made me. I would have rather kept the things I lost. Like my family. And why out of all of them...did you keep me alive? Did you plan on killing me when I was fifteen? Or was your plan to make me a vampire after all?" She asked him. It was the second half to her wondering. Was she the accident he had fixed up by turning?
"You would be dead now if it weren't for me. Rotting in the fucking ground without so much as a memory to spare. Now look at ya's.....ungrateful in every way." She wasnt sure if that was directed to them both or just Rose. Rose was the older one in their duo. Ali was only 22 after all. A vampire for seven years. If he hadnt attacked her, she wouldnt be dead. She would be grown up. She would actually look her age instead of that of an eternal fifteen year old. He was crazy to think she would be grateful and so his words made another scoff erupt from her. "Grateful. Right." She sneered mockingly. And then watched as Rose smacked him across the face. She died to do that to. But if she moved closer to him she would strangle him.

Sevanni was right. Rose did have a foul mouth. She was no different than his weremutt whore Phoenix, but he had to admit to himself, she was feisty, and it made her more accepting of her and her differences. But what she had done just then, out of all the words she had crooned out in scoffing hatred, was the most foulest she could do in that moment.
Granted they had their fights. Still admiring the taste of her eye and wanting more parts of her in his mouth and belly. Nothing would change between them. Or so it seemed. Rose would never warm up to him and let it be how it was before he left.
For years Hyde had spent his time forgetting about those he created. Hayden had been long forgotten, left as she was in Morocco. David James had been left in Scottsdale where he belonged. Ali, Ali was left because he didn't stomach her. Out of everyone in her family Ali had been the one he kept alive. Other than the girl who managed to escape the confines of the house. her mother's blood wasn't much like her own. Aged, partially ruined. Her father, well her father was a good meal to go. Taking a part of his body with him to indulge in the fine dining of mortal flesh.
"That was for leaving me to die." The slap stung, she could have one hit. Just one. It had happened so quick that there was no time to block it. Head turning to the side with a stinging cheek. She spat down by his feet which would conclude to arise to the final straw. "And that's for not calling you selfish bastard." What was he some fucking boyfriend who was suppose to call and say, oh hey, let's be friends still.....like some dumb ass lamer who had nothing better to do with his time.
But truth be told, leaving Rose was not his fault. The stare between them as he looked at her with heated eyes, heated his soulless body as he stood there in utter confliction.
"A thank you? You want a thank you?! Are you an idiot? Or are you just touched in the brain? Im never thanking you for what you made me. I would have rather kept the things I lost. Like my family. And why out of all of them...did you keep me alive? Did you plan on killing me when I was fifteen? Or was your plan to make me a vampire after all?" It was Ali who rang in next. Between the both of them, he didn't understand how his old boss could handle more than just one. But these two hated Hyde with a passion. He could feel it before he took that leap from atop the roof.
Ali was too sweet to kill then. She had the face that made one believe she was the answer to their prayers. That perhaps she could be the one to end the hunger and give him some sort of glimmer into civility.
It was unwise to do what it was he did, and he knew what he had done the moment he took off for Senegal. It would never end. The hunger. The hunger pains that went with it all. With every single person who's soul he had stolen came a price. Hyde wasn't called by his first name any longer. He had become someone other than himself. A created monster by no means of his own.
When he saw Rose's name listed on the charge form, he knew that somehow Sevanni knew that she was to Hyde what Nite and Dae were to Sevanni. His precious pixies, but Hyde had not thought of Rose so much as that. It was more so.....someone he had treasured among the many. Special to him because she was the only one who would ever have his heart. Back then at least. But it never managed to wear away.
All the rage and anger he pushed in her direction, was his own rage and hatred against himself. He wanted her. Wanted her back and for them to go back to the way things used to be. So, if he couldn't have her, it was her eyes inside of him that he could have. It would grow back, replaced of course, but it was still something of her's.
His anger rose when Ali trucked out words in anger and dismay. Mustering up the courage to yell at her and try to be the man he once was months prior. "I took your life because you stood there crying! I warned you of what was to come and still you didn't want to end up like them!" He yelled out. Did she remember every detail? Down to the last drop of her blood that touched his tongue and filled his throat with lovely crimson red?
"It's over now. All of it." He let out a crushing sigh, turning his head this way and that to avoid eye contact with either of them. "You have to let the past go, or it will consume every bit of you." He spoke after finally looking between the two of them. "I can not keep coming after you Rose.......not like before...." He spoke to her as he looked at her precious face. Sad to say it, but it was true. The last time they were together he could have taken her by force if he so chose, but he hadn't. Hyde knew it was wrong. He knew about her current lover, the ones prior. Simply because he had that sort of knowledge handed to him like some fractured fairytale, but enough was enough.
He could no longer keep that shallow hatred toward her for that. He knew that he wanted her more than a meal, and when she realized it, on that night, he knew that it would be over for good between the two. So he let her be.
Ali was another chapter. A hidden chapter in his book because he had never once thought about what she may become. Even when she was with the werewolf who held a co-position, he had managed to stay out of the fold. She entered a dangerous game of chance, but from the looks of it, she was a survivor. Proud within himself and smiling every time Sevanni would return without so much as a hint to anything. Ali remained tight lipped, and it was something that he loved about her.
Even when he bit into her flesh that night he took her family, she had only purred sighs rather than the normal painful cries most mortals let out. It was barely audible, but he knew she was perfect. The perfect fit to be an immortal.
"I cherished you......I cherished you both because you were made from me." No matter how much they hated it, they knew he was right. A vampires love, a sires love, was more powerful than anything in the world. But again, Hyde didn't have a choice. He had to leave them. There was no other way.
What he really wanted to do was simmer them down so Rose would stop attacking him with words, saliva and smacks. Ali had yet to make a move, but she was smart for not doing so. He could see the tension there in her, but she was good at keeping her calm. She was lucky.
God forbid she bring up that fucker. He would have no choice but to put an end to that. Approach the bugger himself, and then take back what was rightfully his.

She watched his face, and this time her face really crumbled. All of her hidden emotions shown that night. Love. Hate. Fear. Pain. Betrayal. A heartbroken teenager was what face Hyde now. She was finding it extremely difficult to keep standing now. The place where she'd slapped him still rang through her hand. Why'd she hate him like this? Besides the obvious reasons. Tears were on the brims of her lids now, and she forced herself to look down. Defeated. "A thank you? You want a thank you?! Are you an idiot? Or are you just touched in the brain? I'm never thanking you for what you made me. I would have rather kept the things I lost. Like my family. And why out of all of them...did you keep me alive? Did you plan on killing me when I was fifteen? Or was your plan to make me a vampire after all?" She turned to Ali, her face broken. Rose couldn't even summon comforting words right now.
Except a few of her own. "Why'd..why'd want me? Why'd you pick me to follow? Why'd you think it was your job to come after me and kill me.?" She closed her lids, the tear sliding down her cheek. "Did you all of a sudden feel obliged?? It wasn't meant to hurt him, she wanted the truth from him. Right now. She knew somewhere, he had to love her. Somewhere deep down. He had too. Or else he wouldn't have kept following her.
"I took your life because you stood there crying! I warned you of what was to come and still you didn't want to end up like them!" His loud voice almost knocked Rose over, and she took a staggering step backward Her pained expression still was cast downward. She was ashamed of herself. She should be raging mad, just because he spoke to her like that. But she was defeated, like a dog beaten one to many times.
She didn't know what to do anymore. Right now she wanted to be in the arms of Tyson. The big strong arms of him, wrapped around her. Comforting her. Telling her it'd be alright. Just listening to her sobbing. Would Hyde ever be capable. No, not with her anymore.
"It's over now. All of it." She blinked once, causing another tear to fall. She was crying. Crying. Why'd she have to do that so often nowadays. "You have to let the past go, or it will consume every bit of you." He was right. But a little too late. Most of her life was consumed with the past. She still had nightmares of the night after he'd left her. Her poor family. Those poor people who never got a chance to live. Her fault."I can not keep coming after you Rose.......not like before...." Feeling his eyes on her, her face, made her want to fall back. Become invisible once again. Like how she first felt when he approached her at her sister's funeral.
He made her feel small. Smaller then what she currently was.
But he was ending it. He was going to let her be now. Let her live, without looking over her shoulders. Another tear fell, hitting the pavement instead of rolling onto her clothes.
"I cherished you......I cherished you both because you were made from me." She shook her head, crouching to the ground, holding her head. "Stop. Stop saying that." The tears were starting to come quicker. "You should have just killed me. You can't play god Anthony. If you wanted me, you should have thought about everything you were taking away from me first. I have a fake grave. Did you know that? I'm not supposed to be alive right now. I'm one hundred and twenty. Not twenty. Not fifteen. One hundred and twenty. Right now, My great grandchildren would be alive, living. But because of me their not." She closed her eyes, nodding her head to her chest. Fighting back a choking sob that hurt her throat. "I shouldn't be best friends with my great, great cousin either. She should have friends her own age. And..you made it possible. I could've had kids of my own. But I couldn't. Because I'm dead!"
That choking sob escaped her lips. She collapsed in her crouched position, knees hitting the pavement. Her distress was causing her inner monster to stir. To want to protect her. To kill whoever did this to her. But all she could do, was being in her own little world. Crying. "You should have just killed me."
She was shaking her head now. She'd knew what Anthony would say. But look at what I've given you. "I was never meant for this world. They picked me up along the way, because I had a pretty face. If they knew what I really should look like, they wouldn't have picked me. They would have walked right over my grave." She was speaking through gritted teeth, to keep her sobs to a minimum.
This was weakening. It was embarrassing to be seen like this. To be seen as a weak little girl. The fifteen year old, who woke up to find herself alone. Alone and afraid was what she was. Anthony had left her, didn't even bother to tell her what he made her. He left her to find out alone. He lapped her blood. She didn't know how many times she'd think of it. Think of what he'd done to her mentally more so than physically. Her father already tore her apart, but this. This made her sink lower in those short lived years.
Short lived years, with long nights of murders.
They'd been together. Been in love. Or was it fake? He had to have felt something. She whimpered. He was the first. The first man she'd ever been with, ever trusted, ever loved. No, not loved like she had Anthony her deceased werewolf, or Tyson or beloved vampire.
She didn't want anyone to touch her. Anyone to be near her. Why'd she come here? Trouble always found her. Or maybe she found it. On purpose? A low grumble escaped her throat, it was weak and closer to another whimper. She needed a sensor, a trouble sensor. Something that'd prevent these types of things from happening.
Her vocal box seemed to have been ripped out. This was Ali's game now. She couldn't do anything now. She was useless. Even if she was attacked, she'd let it happen. Like that one night in Egypt. In her hotel room. Anthony was there, and she still didn't know he was Anthony.
He'd barged in her room, while she was out on the balcony. He tried to keep her still. But she wounded up with the worst injuries. And she'd let him. She acted like a drugged human. This bought more tears. Tears that plopped on the ground, repeatedly. More and more.
She may have talked big, had a sharp tongue, fought well, but that was it. She was scared, and stupid. Her heart was weak. She needed someone who loved her, Tyson. But Anthony caused that weak heart. After he'd left her..she changed.
She'd decided that day, after her last night as a fifteen year old, that no one man would win her heart again. She'd kept that promise up for so long. Almost one hundred and nineteen years. But that night, when she met Anthony, the promise broke. Instant attraction, instant connection. But he was human.
She wanted someone like Anthony. Immortal.
And when Anthony died, she couldn't recover. She still hadn't recovered to this day. She didn't want him to go. Leave her. In fact, she wanted to sets of arms around her. Her past werewolf lover, and her vampire lover. Her chest shuddered violently.
The man in front of her, and wrecked her in every way possible. That wasn't worth thanking anyone for. Anyone at all. They didn't deserve one. Her hands curled in the gravel, trying to get ahold of herself. It was useless.
She might as well have gotten locked up again, this world wasn't meant for her, it was true. She'd evolved, went with the decades and such. But she felt like her heart had been ripped out. Stamped on. Her mascara ran with her tears, staining her porcelain cheeks.

Everything was so confusing. So...frustrating. She didnt know what to do about this whole thing. She wanted to smack him and strangle him. Tear into him the way he had killed her family. No remorse and no regret. But for one thing, she wasnt a violent person and even the thought of getting revenge made a sickly feeling come to her stomach. She didnt like violence and killing, but she would do it to survive. And another reason stopping her was that he probably could defeat her in a matter of moments. He had age, skill and time on his side. Rose would have a better chance at killing him. But Rose wasnt doing so very well. She was breaking down. Falling through and she could see it. She could see her best friend and cousin breaking apart. And it broke her heart to watch this scene unfold from what she normally thought of Rose. She only had two memories of Rose that ever showed her like this. And both times she had wished for nothing more then the old Rose back.
And when she thought he wouldnt answer, keep her in the dark about everything he answered her. He had changed her because she had cried. The changing at fifteen she knew almost by heart. Of course she had cried! At the time she didnt remember that her parents had been killed by this man. That she herself had a sister and that she was French. She had been adopted by a family and thats all that had mattered. But this man came out of no where and attacked her. Telling her what was going to happen. And she had cried, out of fear. She hadnt begged for her life, she hadnt pleaded or struggled. Something in her had known it was a loosing fight. But she hadnt been able to control the crying. "Thats the only reason? Because I was crying? You changed me into a vampire that very moment because I cried?" She felt her hands ball up into fists and she had to control herself. Her eyes going from brown to red with her anger.
His next words though caught her off guard. Had he just sighed? Was he giving up? No. This must be a trick. He was a clever vampire and would probably do anything to keep them from attacking him. It wouldnt be long before he broke Rose and then it was only her and him. And what outcome could she hope for then? But in a way his words were true. The past could ruin someone. Could destroy them. She was grateful that for the longest time she hadnt remembered a thing about her family. That the amnesia had kept her from feeling the regret and the sadness. It had come back about two years ago and she knew it was painful to think about. Think about how she was the only one that had really made it out. And the reason for that had been everyone else protecting her. Even now, she knew her sister was alive but she hasnt seen her. Maybe that was a good thing. Their family had a knack for being on the supernatural side and her sister was on the opposite end of hers.
She really had nothing to say to him about it. And Rose's eyes were welling up with tears. They were going to start falling soon. When he said he cherished them both because of them being made from him, her eyes narrowed. He sure had a poor way of proving he cherished them. Leaving Rose after turning her and after ruining her life. Leaving her after changing her in an alleyway. What was it about him that made him roam away from the things he created? How many others were there that shared the same blood as him? That they could consider another of the group. How many others? And how many traits did she pick up from him? Was the bloodlust from him? Was the forever wanting to roam and not stay in one spot for to long from him as well? Even now, she wanted to go somewhere else other then Vegas. Find someplace new that she could explore. But she had Vic to take care of. She wouldnt leave him alone. Especially not now that she knew Hyde was in town.
She wondered if Hyde knew about Vic. If he did he hadnt said anything about it. Would she go home to find a masacre? She hoped not. She would kill him for sure. No one was going to hurt Vic. She had lost to many people in her life to loose another person. Another person she couldnt live without. She loved Vic. She loved Rose. She loved her sister, and she loved Inora, and Nixie. All those people she would die to protect. And it was killing her enough that she couldnt comfort Rose. Her cousin and best friend. And apparently, according to the words Rose was adding in, her great great cousin. Which would make sense with the ages. But no matter how far down the family line they were, they were still family. And she still cherished Rose like a sister. Watching her fall to the ground, she ground her teeth and glanced back to him. She didnt want to move and yet she couldnt leave Rose there.
Quick as a flash she zipped to Rose's side and pulled her into a hug. She stroked her blonde curls and wiped away the mascara runs. "Shh. Its okay. Dont cry. He doesnt deserve your tears." She told her in a quiet whisper. And it was the truth. He didnt deserve them at all. He didnt deserve Rose. He had his chance and now it was over. And Ali was going to protect Rose. Not let anything happen to her. Even if it meant having to be killed herself. Rose was going to make it out of this. Alive. They had been created by this man. But even peoples creations could go against them. Bite the hand that fed them. Her and Rose were no different. Looking back to Hyde she glared at him. Her eyes darker and harsher then they had ever been. That vampire side coming out. "Are you happy now? Why did you even come to bother us now. Its not like you actually care enough about us. You abandoned me and you abandoned her. Both creations. You look smug and proud. Claim a sires love. But what proof do you have? Thats right none. How are you proud of us when you dont even know us." She snapped at him.

It was like dealing with whiny children. Well, they were children, but mentally it wasn't true. They were far older than their appearance, perhaps it had been a bad idea to even pursue such things as they, but it was Hyde. Having the opportunity to re-unite with Ali, the precious doll he had himself chosen not to devour like the rest of her family. How it must have felt to realize that he had not just fed from and killed her family, but as the carnivorous beast he was, had eaten a bit more than any mortal could chew. So to have her scared and teary eyes, it was a normal thing.
Then Rose. His sweet Rose whom he had been sent to kill. Was it any wonder why Sevanni had sent him after her? Sure if they had their differences and perhaps she was just another mark, but one had to think at why he had failed at killing her. He could have sliced her throat at any time. Not just eat her eye after plucking it from it's socket, but, letting her leave the battleground alive would make you wonder why someone like him could simply be out thwarted by such a small girl. This was the reason why. Because Hyde had made Rose what she is today, and they both knew that he could never fully hurt her, as in kill her to where she would draw her last breath and fade away into the darkness.
Now he was standing there with the both of them, listening to Rose fill out words that she may have meant, but knew she would be sorry for later down the line. If it had been Sevanni here instead of him, her tongue would be cut out like the weremutt back at the coven house, and Ali would be snatched by some of his henchmen and brought to yet another torture room. Had Hyde known about it while it was happening, he would have gone to the Ice Queen himself and ask that they be released. Then everything would have been out in the open, and for his treason, he himself would be hunted down like them. But he would have tried, and asked for protection from him through her.
"Are you happy now? Why did you even come to bother us now. Its not like you actually care enough about us. You abandoned me and you abandoned her. Both creations. You look smug and proud. Claim a sires love. But what proof do you have? Thats right none. How are you proud of us when you dont even know us." A snicker rose over those lips. He was growing rather impatient to the display the girls were giving. It meant that they were weak, weak around him maybe, but her sudden outburst had caused him to grow a bit angry more and more. He expected it from Rose, but Ali, not as much as she had shown him thus far. The whole thing about turning her sure, but nothing further than that surely.
Smoke left lungs as another pull was taken, the cancer stick running low already, along with his patience. "Sometimes a vampire, even one like me has no choice to let things he cherishes go." Another pull as it hung on the corner of his mouth before two fingers slipped it outward to toss it into the street nearby. Blowing out smoke as he spoke and then letting the rest leave dead lungs after the pause. "You should be greatful I even came to you." there was the pause. He managed to round himself behind them, crouch down and manage to near hands toward them but not touch. Not yet. "You need to realize that there are far more greater things that control even us......and one day we realize that there is nothing we can do about it." He let out a breath, sinking into the way he squated without feeling the pain. "Back then it was wrong to even consider changing a child. When he ruled things were different." But it hadn't been Sevanni who ruled over him and his nest of vampires. It had been another that was captivated by such a ruling. When certain parts of the region were run by four separate vampires.
"But now that that's dead and gone, don't you think it's time to let it all go?.....start off fresh?" More than likely not. Not with them because he felt down in his gut that they would never allow it. Hyde would extinguish Rose's lover, be it known who it was or not he would find out, and he would make Ali's life a living hell. But it they were wise, they would go for the better choice. If rejected, he would make his threatening promises, and pursue the worst.

"Are you happy now? Why did you even come to bother us now. Its not like you actually care enough about us. You abandoned me and you abandoned her. Both creations. You look smug and proud. Claim a sires love. But what proof do you have? That’s right none. How are you proud of us when you don’t even know us." Rose shuddered, but regained a sense of her sanity, regaining strength and confidence. Did Hyde want to kill her? Did Sevanni even know about this? She could have guessed he did. Sevanni was all about making people feel misery, suffering. Anguish. Pain, and the worst of the brute. But she was slowly getting over it. Letting Anthony gone for good. "Sometimes a vampire, even one like me has no choice to let things he cherishes go." She snorted, lightly brushing off Ali, and standing arms crossed. Hip bone jutted out, smeared make up no longer an issue. “Really? Are you going to keep making excuses?” Her voice still sounded congested. “I get the whole you can stick to one place for a while. But really..it’s just irresponsible..” She sighed tediously. “It really is sad..” She chirped a little again. You should be greatful I even came to you." A roll of the eyes, and a flip of hair.
“The only thing missing is..you never stuck around.” A semi- faux pout traced her mouth “So no gratitude to you..just yet.” A single finger held up against her lips, smiling wickedly. This was an ongoing event. Her mood swings. Some things knocked her down for a long time, like the deaths of people who loved her back. And then stuff like this comes along. Shit happens. "You need to realize that there are far more greater things that control even us......and one day we realize that there is nothing we can do about it." Rose blocked this stuff out. “Shit Happens..” She muttered, a thought previously on her mind. "Back then it was wrong to even consider changing a child. When he ruled things were different." Quirked eyebrows spoke for her words. She didn’t feel like questioning him just yet. She would.
"But now that that's dead and gone, don't you think it's time to let it all go?.....start off fresh?" She didn’t believe it for a minute. A treaty? Bull, she called. She knew he’d make her life worse. Try and hurt Tyson. It was what he lived for. Pain and suffering of those he recently knew. Rose’s jaw clenched. She’d call him out. Right now. “Your lying,” She scoffed. “So full of it. You won’t give up like that. I know you won’t. You’ll keep following us forever. I’ll kill you though. I’ll drop that lighter down your mouth. I swear it.”
