Soft, gentle blue eyes looked around, wary of anyone and everyone. These soft, almost innocent orbs looked as if they held too much water, and therefore could never be classified as extraordinary or beautiful. Just an everyday pair of blue eyes, the only thing that made them unique is the innocence locked deep in their depths. It was something that would never go away for as long as he lived. Or existed. Blond hair lay in curls, not inappropriately or girlishly long, but a nice normal length for teens of this age. However, this was no normal teen out on a stroll.
The near silent steps taken were purposeful, determined. This was someone who knew what thay wanted and where they was going. The white sneakers were perhaps a bad choice for a walker in the city of New York, but there had been little choice, because the need to return was too fierce and urgent. Like a silent call only these ears could hear.
Alex Night moved with a pace that spoke of power and something beyond his age or rather the age in which he appeared. He may look to be a normal 19 year old boy, but he was born in the year 1467 making him well past his human year of age. Ah, humans. Such small, pathetic beings. Worthless expect for their blood. He hated that he was so dependent on an inferior species. He would never lower himself to the lesser beings of his kind. Those vampires who fed on the blood of animals. They could be classified as something worse then humans in his mind. That's how low they had become.
The corners of his lips turned up, enjoying a sinfully delicious thought of those vampires meeting their final death, burning forever in Hell's fire. What a beautiful image that made, that he let slip a soft laugh. A women, who happened to be passing him just at the right moment, heard him and stared as if the boy had gone mad. Steps slowed as he stared back at her, the two of them standing on the sidewalk staring at the other, waiting for a point of weakness, for the other to look away first. Alex didn't even blink, and after a few moments of simply standing there a deep, empty coldness entered his eyes, willing the human to look away first, to make her continue on her way before she became his next meal. The coldness, mixed with the soft innocence was enough to have any ones mind reeling. The women blinked, and took a step back as if confused. Finally she walked away, a little more quickly then before.
A smug smile lifted over his lips as he too continued his walk of the city. They really were too easy to subdue and scare off. Why the vampires were still in hiding was beyond his belief. Still, he shouldn't be wasting time like that. There was a very good reason why he was here in New York.
He sighed softly, breathing in the nights cool air and letting it out slowly. His maker, the very one who had turned him lived here in the wonderful city. He was extremely close to him. The only reason Alex had ever left his side was because he'd ordered it. Wanting Alex to get out on his own, learn is own way as a vampire and decide how he wanted to live his existence. The only thing about Alex that had changed was he'd become more dangerous. Enjoyed killing even more then before. He was ruthless. One of the few that had come into this life already a killer, and therefore had been able to adapted much more quickly to this new lifestyle.
Shaden Grace, a man with a secret past. A past buried so deep it was impossible to find. But that what Alex had spent his time doing, looking and digging for any information about Shaden's past. And he'd come back empty handed. There was nothing to be find on Shaden Grace or anyone else with that last name. It was as if he'd been placed here by the devil himself. Alex, however, was not one to give up so easily.
Word traveled fast, and he had heard Shaden had been spending his time in some very interesting company. He felt a bit of jealousy toward the man who had taken to spending time with Shaden. It wasn't fair. Shaden was his, just as he was Shaden's. He would never confess to feeling such things, after all it was pointless and irrational. Alex was highly educated so he knew better then to start fights over such little things. Shaden had every right to spend his time with this other man whoever he was. Sevanni. The name sounded familiar, but he couldn't remember a face to match the name so he put it to the back of his mind. It made no difference who it was.
The thing was though, he wasn't so sure he wanted to go looking for Shaden in case he was with that man. Alex could be rather respectful sometimes and he wouldn't want to disturb them. His mind protested. Loudly. Screaming that he had a right to go see him no matter what. Alex knew though that Shaden would feel his presence here in the city and come running sooner or later. It was just a matter of time.

Three pale and elegant faces stared up at the vampire with pleading eyes. Knees places over hands as the palms of their hands remained flat against the hardwood floor. One was pouting, the other was on the verge of shedding a tear. They were so angelic that it was really quite sad to see them that way. "Can we go get him?" One asked, the other tuning in with a Roger Rabbit please. Sevanni chuckled inwardly at the tone. How could he not say no to those face.
One hand each moved over cheeks of the two on the ends, a soft kiss to the side of her mouth to the girl in the center. "Alright......but be nice....he is after all, only here to seek out his maker." Smiles and nods, white flowing garments that had been far too sheer in cotton to be called anything such as actual clothing.
The three had opened the French doors, the night's sky looking so beautiful with it's half moon and dark skies. All he could see was trails of white leave the railing. The girls could go have their fun and draw in the one who had stalked into his city.
Sevanni didn't mind having different strands of vampires roaming New York, but this one was a little special because he had been informed that Shaden had been his maker. How he had found out? Well, blood does go a long way and when you look into the soul of another, you saw things that were traceable.
Sevanni had never inquired about it with Shaden, he simply did. He knew who was in his life, but never had he met anyone special enough for Shaden to turn. Who else had he turned? A curious question in his mind.
Shaden had been the first male that Sevanni had ever interacted with in a way that was not so much vied against, but never explored because he took privy to women more so than the likes of men like some vampires who indulged in the nature of the same sex.
He was curious about this one though. Alex. He didn't know his last name, it had never been ushered near his informant so it had been a mystery. Maybe the evening would prove to give some information from the boy.
Sevanni wondered if Alex was like Shaden. Maybe they were completely different. Already he'd seen his face which was just near barely. A close encounter would prove most enjoyable.
He could picture the girls strolling down the street, everyone slow in their movements as they moved through space and time, seeking out the boy as close as he was. Soft hums spilling from their throats while strands of brunettes waves moved past peeking shoulders.
Giggles were passed out as they made their approach, how odd he was. The hair, that face, odd yet so beautiful with his drawn on features that spoke to them faint melodies that one would hear on a merry go round.
One spoke right after the other as they finished each other's sentences. Vampires were so seductive, but it wasn't their allure that attracted the same specie, it had been the curiosity in a vampire. The need to know that surged in their bodies.
"He waits for you." A giggle was sent out. "We can take you to him." Another spoke as the third took a soft hold of his hand and moved a little close to him to whisper in his ear while leaning against the side of his body. "He keeps your maker."
The other two had such soft hums derriving from throats as if they were softly moaning from a soothing touch. "He's interested in you...." The first spoke again. "He can take you to him much easier than walking around the city." Spoke the second, the third had already moved away but never took her hands from around his arm. "He is most generous." It was like a freaking horror movie where you knew it wasn't a good idea to follow the girls, but you had to because it was something you deeply wanted.
Already the third was pulling him softly along in the direction of the apartment flat. They had stayed there because Sevanni had wanted it so. it was two hours away from the house, an hour away from the office, and forty-five minutes away from the club.
If he came Sevanni would greet him with a bit of respect, he was a different kind of dead now, horridly manageable, but different nonetheless.

Alex found it increasingly difficult to trust anyone, it was one of the many little traits and habits he'd picked up from Shaden. Hell, he'd spent just about every waking moment with him, so some of the things Shaden did was bound to rub off on him. Alex was very much like his maker, but in many ways he was also he's own person too.
He was in the middle of having a sudden, strange craving for strawberries when he thought of something he hadn't realized before, there was a possibility of someone else coming to him before Shaden had the chance. This, Sevanni, for insistence could very well already know he was there and therefor could already be on his way or else sending someone in his place to fetch him. This was his territory after all, and Alex had no idea what type of vampire he was, just the few things he'd heard whispered about in the streets and the neighboring areas. However, he knew better then to listen to everything he heard. Though he did wonder how much of it, if any, was true. Maybe he would meet this guy, if only to see for himself what he was like so he wouldn't have to rely on others opinions that he cared nothing for. The feeling for being followed made him slow and then finally stop as he heard the soft giggles behind him. He sighed softly, and turned to face the three vampires. Alluring in their form, and seductive in their tones but he only stood and waited like a child expecting bad news. "He waits for you." Another giggle was sent out, "We can take you to him." Of course they could. And it didn't take a genius to realize who they were talking about. There was a movement from one of them, she took his hand softly, almost sweetly, and then leaned into the side of his body to whisper in his ear. "He keeps your maker." The words repeated themselves in his head. Now he sighed a little more loudly. Damn. Alex didn't particularly like her leaning on him like that, but he made no move to back away from her or remove her hand from his. "He's interested in you...." Great. Things hardly ever turned out well when someone was interested in him. Shaden over reacted to things like that. "He can take you to him much easier than walking around the city." A forced smile was placed on his lips, "True." The words slipped past his lips in a gentle tone, soothing, but with in undertone that was all deadliness. Alex was glad when the girl had moved off him, he was fine with her holding his hand the way she did, but he hated being held onto by anyone other then Shaden. "He is most generous." He looked at the girl who spoke, "Oh is he now? That's not what I've heard." The tone had turned mocking, and he looked at each girl with a kind of half hidden disgust. Their clothes, if they could be called such, were to sheer, to everything. The girl holding his hand was pulling him in the direction they had come from, toward the so called generous Sevanni. He locked his legs into place, refusing to move for half a minute before he aloud himself to be led. He wanted to make sure they knew he was coming along because he wanted to, not because she was pulling him on like a reluctant child. Alex didn't pat attention much of how long they'd been walking, though it hadn't seemed like long before they came to an apartment. He thought it was a little odd that Sevanni would be here.

"Oh is he now? That's not what I've heard." A pout from the girls had become visible now, at least his tones weren't dosset in their direction. The one holding his hand had let go when he stood locked into place, moving beside him to stroll unnaturally with the wind.
Neither girl spoke on the way there. Only when they reached the hall did they pause. One on either side of the door, leaning against the wall as if they were so bored and lonely. Sexual almost as they wished they could head in sooner than now.
"Go on......" He would have to open the door, step inside and be followed in by the vixens. Their strides moving forward, vanishing off to the right side and into a room of their own. That was where they had slept. Their bedroom. Sevanni was there in the living space, a wide area that took up most of the apartment.
Much to his surprise, or maybe not, the boy had looked incredibly young. Lips parted slightly before licking them, just.....looking him over without speaking. Finally he took a seat and simply sat there in the chair. No cigar to light this time. Feet firmly planted on the floor in front of him.
"You have come to find your maker no?" Spoken, not really asked. A gestured hand moved out to invite him to have a seat. "Vampires of all types come in and out of New York like it's a hookers vagina, constantly monitoring who comes and goes. Those who make their nest here. Werewolves and their official, the same movements....." He spoke as if he were telling a soft story, sort of disgusted by it all.
"I can give and take away happiness.....and you......" He drifted off into a wonder about the kid. He hadn't known much about him, but the chance to meet someone made by Shaden, it was a delight all in it's self. "You look as though you are unsure of what it is you truly seek." Maybe he meant that it may not be Shaden completely. Maybe it meant he wanted happiness with his maker, and on all accounts would Sevanni have to think that through.
Having had Shaden, Sevanni had wanted to keep him in his special collection. Maybe the boy could serve a place beside him. Sevanni closed his eyes, as if reading the air emanating from Alex's body. Taking in his scent, and the faintness that was his maker. A soft smile emerged and lids opened to view him once more.
"Tell me Alex......what is it you think he will do when you meet once more? hmmmm? Welcome you with open arms and think that everything will be alright?" For the long run he would see to it that that wouldn't happen. Shaden had made a choice and Sevanni was going to do anything in his power to make sure no one came between that.

Alex looked at each girl again, as they paused just outside the door, moving to lean against the wall. He cocked his head to the side slightly. These were very interesting girls, it almost made him nervous to go into the room that was right in front of him. The door so close he could have leaned forward only a little and came into contact with it. "Go on......" They urged him on as if they themselves were incapable of opening the door and going in. His hand paused on the handle before opening it and walking into the room. The girls followed in, and they fled to what most have been their room. Leaving him alone with the man he didn't know and wasn't really sure he wanted to know. They both stood, looking over the other with evident curiosity. He shoved his hands into his pants pockets. Waiting for Sevanni to speak first. He wouldn't be the one to talk and break the silence. Alex watched as he licked his parted lips. It reminded him of Shaden. Finally, Sevanni sat down. "You have come to find your maker no?" Alex smiled, "I suppose it shouldn't surprise me that you know that. However, it does surprise me that you know who my maker is." He said he he sat down in a chair. "Vampires of all types come in and out of New York like it's a hookers vagina, constantly monitoring who comes and goes. Those who make their nest here. Werewolves and their official, the same movements....." And Alex cared why? That wasn't his concern. He didn't care that Sevanni had known he was here. Hell, he didn't care if he knew where he'd come from. All he cared about was getting to Shaden. "I can give and take away happiness.....and you......" He leaned back in the chair. There was a flash of amusement across his face. "Don't take this as rude, but I simply most ask, how does one take away happiness?" He smiled softly. He was, of course, thinking about Shaden. He'd been with him long enough to see the enjoyment he got from pain, and things would make any normal person or vampire feel sick or cry. The very things that would make anyone else unhappy made him happy. So how could anyone take away his happiness when so many different things made him happy? "You look as though you are unsure of what it is you truly seek." The smile faded. "Your very observant." He said softly, just loud enough for him to hear, but he gave no other comment. It was odd that Sevanni had been able to see that so clearly and they'd only just met. His eyes showed the distrust, even as he watched him close his eyes and saw the soft smile appear on his lips. He wondered what he was thinking about. "Tell me Alex......what is it you think he will do when you meet once more? hmmmm? Welcome you with open arms and think that everything will be alright?" For a moment, Alex's face showed no emotion and then suddenly he chuckled, and shook his head. "It would seem, Sevanni, that you do not know the reason behind our separation. There are a few reasons in fact." He sighed softly, "There are, of course, the few reasons that Shaden would give you. But they are in fact perfectly placed lies to hide the truth." His eyes scanned the room for a second before coming back to Sevanni. "I was told to leave because he was tired of his enemies using me as bait. They used me to get to him. He said it would be better, and much safer if I stayed away from him." A soft smile. "So you see, Sevanni, Shaden will not be very pleased to see me. At least not at first. But... I have hope that in time he will come to forgive me. I simply can't stay away from him any longer."

Observant of course, but still a little unsure of why the reborn always sought out their makers. Sevanni's ideals around that was to get as far away from them as possible. Rather than one, he had three. A family of different blood that had always kept their hold on him.
"It would seem, Sevanni, that you do not know the reason behind our separation. There are a few reasons in fact." In truth he knew nothing. Nothing of grave importance that is. The boy sighed, breaths still fresh in dead lungs that lived simply for him. "There are, of course, the few reasons that Shaden would give you. But they are in fact perfectly placed lies to hide the truth."
Sevanni would have chuckled at that. Everyone knew Sevanni didn't like liars, especially Shaden, but there hadn't been any remembrance of a talk about Alex. No one he had made. It was his own little bit of curiosity that lurked about in that hour.
"I was told to leave because he was tired of his enemies using me as bait. They used me to get to him. He said it would be better, and much safer if I stayed away from him." Sevanni wanted to ask who they were and then form so many other new questions off of answers, but that was so intrusive. Shaden wouldn't like that his little one was running off at the mouth, even if they were lies. He could only take the boy with a grain of salt.
"So you see, Sevanni, Shaden will not be very pleased to see me. At least not at first. But... I have hope that in time he will come to forgive me. I simply can't stay away from him any longer." A small nod was given and still his previous question had gone unanswered. He had simply moved into the glow of responding to Sevanni's statements. How did Sevanni take away happiness? It was something that would have to go unanswered for the boy. Perhaps one day he and Shaden could discuss that.
He was forthright. Letting out his small piece of confession about the two of them. Reasoning. Sensibility. In any case it would have been wise to let your mark go away and as far as possible. Sevanni liked going after people who were specially important to the one he was truly after.
"Why?" He shot out quizzically with urgency to know. Like a Lestatian hunger that needed to be filled. "Why is it so important for the young ones to see their makers? to reunite with the one who took away your life.....your...humanity?" It wasn't raged, but forceably pushed out with wisps of hard air. It just wasn't so clear. Nothing ever was really clear to him on such matters.
He could imagine Shaden with the woman now. How quaint to know someone was occupying his time. "But no matter then.... Shaden is on a play date right now, and I'll not have you interrupting them just yet...." That statement was spoken rather proudly, he'd love to see what Alex thought about that.

"Why?" There was such urgency behind the word, and it slightly confused him. Why what? He relaxed his arms on the chair and waited for more. Surely Sevanni would give more of an explanation as to what he wanted to know. Otherwise he would simply go without an answer, just like Sevanni had done to him. He never told him how he took away happiness. Not that it mattered. He hadn't really expected an answer anyway, but he had hoped for one all the same.
"Why is it so important for the young ones to see their makers? to reunite with the one who took away your life.....your...humanity?" A moment of silence. How to answer? Did this man deserve an answer? No, the truth was he didn't, but Alex would provide one anyway. "I lost my humanity long before Shaden found me." It was a starting point, the beginnings of a much longer story that would not be fully told here.
"You see, I had already killed both my mother and my father before Shaden came around." A slow carefully placed sinful smile spread over his lips and his eyes seemed to brighten at the memory of their deaths. "Shaden understands me. More then anyone ever has. Out of all the other ones he's made, I'm the only one still alive. The others-" He stopped himself. Shaden wouldn't like him telling Sevanni that little part of his life.
He remembered them. There was five, including him. Four boys and one girl. But Shaden had always gone out of his way to please Alex most. He'd hated it when Alex was upset for any reason. And in time, Alex had come to be very attached to Shaden. And when it had become just the two of them alone, he never left his side.
It almost made him sad to think about the old days. Everything was different now, and from Sevanni's tone and words before, it was clear that they would not be allowed to have continued visits. Alex had already known that nothing would be alright. Only a fool would, and Alex was anything but a fool.
"But no matter then.... Shaden is on a play date right now, and I'll not have you interrupting them just yet...." Oh? A play date? How sweet. He wondered if it was a male or female he was with. It made no difference either way. Alex wouldn't interrupt them, but that was because he wasn't rude, not because some guy said so.
Still, his words caused a spike of iteration in him and his left hand twitched slightly. Something not many people took notice to. "I wonder, Sevanni, what makes you think I'd listen to you. I don't recall swearing any kind of loyalty to you. I have a right to see my maker." The words, though spoken matter-of-fact, were not rude and nor were they meant to be. "By what right do you say I can't see him? Do you own him?" He hated asking the last question, mainly because he was pretty sure of the answer, and he both wanted and didn't want to hear it from Sevanni. However, he wanted it out of the way right now.

"I lost my humanity long before Shaden found me." Most battered evils had fallen privy to divulge information just the same as he did. The blond mess before him, how easily it must have been for Shaden to turn and take to him. "You see, I had already killed both my mother and my father before Shaden came around." Such a travesty. Some parents, he assumed, had been worth killing. Sevanni had loved his parents with all fiber of his being. They were the ones who gave him life, and the ones who helped him be who he is today. In part.
"Shaden understands me. More then anyone ever has. Out of all the other ones he's made, I'm the only one still alive. The others-" He partially raised a chin as he looked onto Alex's facial features. About to let out some more information was he? He was quite the jabber jaw. Not one to have around in a secret meeting, that was for certain. He was most prideful though. Of himself, his maker; Shaden.
Perhaps the mention of the barrier between had made him stir. He noticed the malfunction in his wrist, everything people did Sevanni paid attention to. He was always sizing them up, wondering curiously what was behind the curtain of the show they paraded about.
"I wonder, Sevanni, what makes you think I'd listen to you. I don't recall swearing any kind of loyalty to you. I have a right to see my maker." A slow hum lifted in his throat with an approaching smirk. "By what right do you say I can't see him? Do you own him?" The the quiet had set in once again and Sevanni brushed back relaxingly against the chair. Hands re-folding themselves back over his lap.
To answer that would be like spilling his own information. Shaden could perhaps divulge him with that. Sevanni wouldn't have that moment stolen from him. "What makes you think I am a man who keeps people?" Spoken quizzically as he lifted slightly darkened eyes up at him as if he were some cunning spirit set out to inflict unyielding pain onto him.
"I am not a monster." He mocked. Of course someone had to whisper it out into the night. It was a nightly thing. A daily rotation of a horror story. As if Jason or Michael had actually been real. Freddy. All a bunch of massacred truths.
"Have you ever been owned Alex? Experience what it is like to have someone take control over mostly everything you do?" Slithered from a tongue that enjoyed an earlier drink. The simple things in life still greatly enjoyed with little satisfaction.

Alex was a lot smarter then many people seemed to think he was. He was cunning. Oh it was remarkable just how clever he could be sometimes. Most hated liars, but Alex never lied. He laid out very carefully placed traps. Slipping little bits of information as id he hadn't meant to, as if he'd suddenly realized he'd said too much. It was all part of the act. The only one to have ever seen past his little games was Shaden.
What Alex did was make the unwilling victim become his prey without them even realizing it. Saying little things that would draw them in, let them as their questions and he'd give them half answers, enough to tease the brain and leave them with more questions then they'd started with. It wasn't about outsmarting anyone or about proving himself. It was about control. About having power that he still longed for.
After the moment of silence came again, it became clear that Sevanni would not give him an answer to his much desired question. Well that was fine. Shaden would tell him when he got the chance to see him. And it would be soon. No matter what Sevanni said. There was no way he could keep them from seeing each other. Whether it was tonight or another night didn't matter. "What makes you think I am a man who keeps people?" A smirk lifted from his mouth, and instead of using words to answer he looked toward the door in which the three had gone into and not been seen sense.
He looked back at Sevanni, the smirk widening. "Do not underestimate me." Said softly, without a hint of threat or warning. Just a simple fact he felt he needed to tell Sevanni before he made the mistake of doing so. "I like playing games too, but even the most seemingly harmless ones can turn deadly with only a few spoken words." He didn't explain what he meant, only met his darkened gaze with, having not affect on him expect to maybe bring out the amusement in his eyes once more.
"I am not a monster." The tone was mocking, and it was odd he'd even mention that when Alex had not even so much as hinted it. A single brow was raised for half a second before it relaxed and he simply shrugged. "If that is what you say, then I have little choice then to believe you." He very brief smile, and then it was gone. "Clearly Shaden trusts you enough, so I will have to make the effort to do the same." Time was the only way to tell if Sevanni deserved his trust, it was not yet given to him, but he would try. Trust did not come easy for Alex.
"Have you ever been owned Alex? Experience what it is like to have someone take control over mostly everything you do?" The look he gave Sevanni now could only be described as boredom, like a child who had just grown tired of a new toy and was already demanding a new one to play with. "If I was owned, then obviously I wouldn't be sitting here with you. But I have had someone take control over my life. Shaden. I didn't mind though. I trusted him to know what was best for me. And I still do. You will learn, that I do not give my trust or loyalty easily." He looked around the room again, acting as if the walls were more interesting then Sevanni, it was not true though. Alex wished he could see inside that head of his.

He looked on to find that Alex had not been so quaint on remaining eye contact. Turning a head to view something, perhaps he was interested in what the girls were doing. "Shall I call one out for you?" Sevanni spoke with a sinister smirk. "Perhaps all three....." It was spoken quizzically, a cocky smile rising as Alex turned back and spoke.
"Do not underestimate me. I like playing games too, but even the most seemingly harmless ones can turn deadly with only a few spoken words." Sevanni could brush that off for now. It was an obvious statement that had been dated pre-Alex era. A small hint of a scoff emmitted and Sevanni had begun to get slightly bored.
"If that is what you say, then I have little choice then to believe you." He gave a very brief smile, and then it was gone. Sevanni watching the ever shifting muses of Alex. "Clearly Shaden trusts you enough, so I will have to make the effort to do the same." Everyone knew that trust came with letting up your guard. Giving up a piece of yourself in order to believe a possible lie or get sucked up into a trick.
The general reply was satisfying for now. The claim on his own head spilled out before Alex had managed to shed a bit of his own light on the matter. "If I was owned, then obviously I wouldn't be sitting here with you. But I have had someone take control over my life. Shaden. I didn't mind though. I trusted him to know what was best for me. And I still do. You will learn, that I do not give my trust or loyalty easily."
Was that a contradiction he heard? Possibly? Maybe Sevanni had heard him wrong, but nonetheless, Sevanni was a man of his word, but no word thus far had been given. Just a statement that reigned true for those who were in that fine line of respect.
If Alex had been owned, of course he wouldn't be there in that room with Sevanni, but he could have been owned once. Maybe an escapee like Darien had been. "I do not intend to place harm onto you if that's what you think....nor do I wish to lay claim over your life...." Not yet anyway. A little grin emerged over his mouth, the corner rising before carrying on. "I am sure you are a brilliant boy with much going for himself....." A guess, butnot an overall believed statement. "I'm sure that your time here will be short? An honest question? Okay. Perhaps. Sevanni would enjoy an answer. "Not to say I don't want you here in New York, or with Shaden for that matter......but you see Alex......" Normally he would call him by his last name, Mr. so and so and what have you, but his last name was clueless to him. "I like to know those who are close to the ones I am close to, that way I know what happens around me as well as in the state."
He did know about everything. Or as much as one could learn about the important things. Such as the vampires in the state who stirred up trouble and those who remained within the normal boundaries. It wasn't as if humans could keep coming up missing. Imagine how it would be in five years if every vampire picked off a human a day within the state. Less food for the masses, which was why many glamoured their victims and left marks in non visible places. Often letting their blood drop over a wound so the puncture marks would vanish as if it were healed in minutes.
He smirkingly frowned, brows furrowing as he thought about him for a moment. "What else....is it you are seeking?" It had to be asked. Sevanni was too curious to not ask.

"I do not intend to place harm onto you if that's what you think....nor do I wish to lay claim over your life...." One shoulder raised slightly, and then fell. "That's all well and good, Sevanni, but to be honest with you I wouldn't care less if you did happen to threaten me. I've grown use to threats over the years." A very brief smile, "Anyone who spent more then a night in Shaden's company would understand why." It was a sad truth. During the years he'd been with him, Alex had come to see why so many hated him. Shaden wasn't afraid to cause trouble, wasn't afraid of the consequences of his own actions... or Alex's for that matter. He remember Shaden always taking the blame for something he had done, like an older brother looking out for him. However, the growing feeling inside Alex had not been brotherly love. And he'd craved for more then just his company.
"I am sure you are a brilliant boy with much going for himself....." Alex head tilted up just slightly, what would Sevanni know about how smart he was? Nothing. Not yet anyway, but he would learn, just like everyone else. "I'm sure that your time here will be short?" His hand raised to run fingers through his hair. Did Sevanni wish him gone already? "Not to say I don't want you here in New York, or with Shaden for that matter......but you see Alex......" His hand was now lowered back to the chair, fully relaxed, and every one of his senses tuned in on Sevanni, watching his breathing, the way he grinned but the reasons behind those grins were more often then not unknown. "I don't have any plans on leaving New York. I told you, I want to be close to Shaden."
An interesting man to say the least. It was no wonder why Shaden would be spending his time with him. Shaden always had been unknowingly drawn the more powerful, to the vampire who could, if they so wished it, have him killed in a matter of minutes. Like it gave him some sort of thrill. Alex wasn't that bad. He knew his place better then Shaden did, although, just because Alex knew his place didn't mean he had to like it. He could strive for something better. "I like to know those who are close to the ones I am close to, that way I know what happens around me as well as in the state." Alex silently drummed his fingers against the chair as he thought about this. "That sounds very reasonable." He finally said, folding his hands together on his lap.
"What else....is it you are seeking?" The question came as little surprise to Alex. It would have been asked sooner or later. But how should he go about answering this one? There were so many different things he wanted. One of which had to do with getting answers about Shaden's past, but he assumed only Shaden himself could help him there. "That's difficult to say," He looked down at his hands as he continued to think of how to reply. "I suppose the only way to say it is like this; I want power and control." He half smiled as he looked back up at Sevanni. "Of course I know I'm hardly old enough to take control over some state, but I want to be something more then your common everyday vampire." A soft, and silent rush of air moved past his lips, "Do you understand what I'm getting at?" He wasn't questioning Sevanni's intelligence, just trying to confirm that he'd gotten his point across, unsure if he'd explained it right or not.

A couple of times Sevanni had found himself nearly letting his fingers twitch and tap against the furniture of which he sat upon, letting it go and remembering that no matter what, he was young, and had no idea who the man before the boy truly was.
"That's difficult to say," He started after the question was given. Sevanni had truly wanted to know what it was he wanted, other than Shaden of course. Not because he was by far curious with the intrigue of the boy, but because Sevanni knew that fledglings didn't just come out of the woodwork for nothing. Even more so, their makers approach to them in return. It was a two way street.
"I suppose the only way to say it is like this; I want power and control." Sevanni chortled, a smile more visible as he pushed out of the chair to stand straight up and make his way over to the double doors. Tying back the sheer colored drapery and listening onward.
"Of course I know I'm hardly old enough to take control over some state, but I want to be something more then your common everyday vampire." A soft, and silent rush of air moved past his lips, "Do you understand what I'm getting at?"
Of course he understand. How could he not? Many vampires running around in the world today had wanted that. They felt it would make them better than what they were.
Sevanni hadn't just sprung up out of nowhere. He came to New York under the radar, gained a status and managed to make a name for himself, but prior to that he had always had homes spread all over the world, He kept out of Italy mainly but for the most part he kept his distance.
He had managed to get more done in a faster amount of time in New York then he had anywhere else. So he settled. Nesting in the great state that never slept.
It was then he lit one of the finely rolled cigars he usually carried with him. How remarkable to just come out like that. Did he think Sevanni was Santa Claus? Did he think Sevanni could give him a status out right? Probably not, maybe he did. Clearly his question had been answered and Sevanni had managed to process it in with a few puffs of the stogy.
After expelling the smoke from lungs and mouth, only then did he let words filter off of his tongue. "And how would one such as yourself go about acquiring such a thing as that?" He spoke crooning his words in a deep lull. His head turning to the side to look over his shoulder to view a portion of him.
His hand drew down the cigar by his side as he turned half way to better see him. Marvelous little creature. He would have to commend Shaden one day.

Those soft blue eyes watched Sevanni as he stood there smoking. He would get up and stand soon as well, mainly because he hated to sit while others stood. "And how would one such as yourself go about acquiring such a thing as that?" He frowned. Someone such as himself? That bothered him to no end. Sevanni didn't even know him and yet it sounded as if he'd already assumed he wouldn't be capable of power. He rose, pushing himself out of the chair. "Someone like me, Sevanni?" He was half turned to him, his arms at his sides. His tone was flat, very little emotion. "I was born into power when I was a human. I know what it feels like to have to be obeyed no matter what you ask." The corners of his lips turned up as he remembered those days. "My family were one of the wealthiest families in the 15th century." Not that he thought Sevanni cared even the slightest bit. "I can honestly tell you that for the past years I've been much more concerned with finding out Shaden's past, but I'm ready to move on from that, at least for the time being, and concentrate only on what I want." Alex had a way of explaining things that would make a normal person wonder if he had, in fact, even answered the question. He loved watching the reaction to his responses, watch them try and figure out just what he was saying. Always going into more detail then what was really needed. "But how does anyone start off, Sevanni? Like my father, Simon Night, I would have to befriend a someone of a higher class then myself." A single nod in Sevanni's direction was given. "Someone like you. A vampire that clearly ranks above me." He looked around the room, thankful it was large enough and that he stood closest to the door. Alex hated having claustrophobia, but there was little he could do about it. "You could kill me right now couldn't you? But I wonder, would you kill me knowing that it would hurt Shaden?" He didn't expect any kind of reply to that. It would be interesting though, if an answer was given. He took out a pack of cigarettes and out one to his mouth and lit it, then put the pack back into his pants pocket. A moment or so later, after he'd gotten in a few hits, he looked back at Sevanni, "I'm not asking you to help me nor do I expect you to. I'm simply being honest here. You wanted to know what else it was I'm seeking, and I've told you." Another hit, he let the smoke blow out slowly. "So maybe you could answer a question of mine. Where is Shaden living right now? I promise not to go knocking down doors to see him, however, I would like to know so it can at least give me some comfort, knowing where he's most likely at when I'm not with him."

The vampire had decided to spill a bit of his own history, a tad tear from the family book of course, and even so less than. But he did have a knack for spilling his personal life about in various places. A hintful little kid. "I can honestly tell you that for the past years I've been much more concerned with finding out Shaden's past, but I'm ready to move on from that, at least for the time being, and concentrate only on what I want." Something they both shared. Though Sevanni had seen a portion of himself, the part where he was turned had intrigued him. The emotions he felt for his own flesh and blood and to watch him kill her, that had captivated him to know more. As if Shaden's memory were some sort of Big Gulp that was offered for limited time only.
A small breath was released, some of the frustration about that coming out. "But how does anyone start off, Sevanni? Like my father, Simon Night, I would have to befriend a someone of a higher class then myself." Night. So that was his last name. Alex Night, how clever. Or was that with a K? No matter, he'd find out sooner or later, right now it wasn't important. "Someone like you. A vampire that clearly ranks above me." A frown planted over closed lips, his eyes averting downward at the disappointment in those words. He half turned toward him, letting eyes befall his form.
"You could kill me right now couldn't you? But I wonder, would you kill me knowing that it would hurt Shaden?" Ahh, there was the relaxing smile. The falling of the chest. "I would gladly kill my own son had he planted himself in front of these eyes before you. So yes....." He spoke so plainly, so, without care as if it were a breeze to say. Also because he and Damien had been feuding for centuries. "Yes, I would kill you.....and I could." He could. He was faster, that much he was sure of. The might in his throws incomparable, and the smarts, well, not to be over judging, but all in all Sevanni barely knew this kid from a pic to paper. But he would. He would in time. But how he said it, how he said it was the hint of where he stood.
"So maybe you could answer a question of mine. Where is Shaden living right now? I promise not to go knocking down doors to see him, however, I would like to know so it can at least give me some comfort, knowing where he's most likely at when I'm not with him." A queston that would lead down a path to something he wasn't quite sure had been a good idea. Eventually he would find out and surely he wouldn't try to delay such a thing, but why bother to ask? And, if Sevanni had told him, would it be wise to accept the help and not know that you somehow would end up owing him in return?
He cleared his throat and one of the girls had come out with a piece of paper and a pen, bringing it over to the coffee table and placing the items lightly on top before vanishing from the room. They often liked peeking their heads out when there was company because they enjoyed it so.
As he kept eyes on Alex he had moved toward the table, taking up the pen and paper and scribbling something down. The pen placed on the table before hands folded the paper. "I do not know the basis of your true and current relationship with Shaden, nor do I care to....but he is often found in that location around the same time as now." No home address, but a location nonetheless. He wasn't that dumb to give away the prize to a possible homicide of his own persons.
Lending fingers let the paper move in his direction, all he had to do was take it, and the look Sevanni held had showed that there was something behind his little act....too easy to behold, and if he was smart he'd think twice before wanting to find Shaden by the help of the man before him.
