The streets of Hollywood flew by, blurring into one long gray concrete wall. Heavy metal music, System of a Down to be precise, blasted in Inora's ears, her feet changing pace as the music did which gave her long run from home to the gym a good variation. The current song, Bounce, was causing her to do just that. Jump! Pogo, pogo, pogo, pogo, pogo, pogo, pogo. Bounce! Pogo, pogo, pogo, pogo, pogo, pogo, pogo. It gave her a good finishing pace before she finally switched to slower, nicer music(her old band's mellower stuff) and walked the final few blocks to the gym.
As she entered, she was greeted by a few of the regulars. They'd watch her basically grow up through her training with Victor. They'd seen her muscles grow, seen her tone up her body through rigorous training. They'd seen her get beaten down by her teacher more times than any of them could probably possibly count. Inora herself knew that they'd felt horrible every time they'd seen her limp home with more bruises than skin, with so many cuts she surely had left more blood on the mats than she was leaving with. But she had enjoyed every minute of her training because she knew that she needed to learn to defend herself. Especially now that Adam had left her in charge of the pack, she needed to be able to protect her family. Now she was finally starting to feel like she could do that, like people could count on her.
Joe looked up from the machine he was currently instructing someone on using and smiled at her. "Hey girl, back for another ass-whoopin?" "I can only hope!" Nora replied. She headed over to one of the weight benches and set herself up there for a few reps. That was the only thing that had surprised Vic and everyone else. Inora could bench pretty hefty weights, considering she was a werewolf, and that strength had only increased with time. After she'd benched out her reps, she headed over to the punching bag. She was a half hour early for once, since the last lesson she'd been late. Her hands moved lightning fast as they beat at the punching bag, and occasionally her legs would sweep out in what could have been devastating kicks. She really had improved a lot, and her werewolf strength and speed could only help her in these situations. Now all she had to do was wait for Vic to get here and start the lesson.

The alarm clock rang it’s annoying, yet effective ringing. ”BRR! BRR! BRR!” He swatted towards the clock, trying to hit the snooze, swatting and swatting, until the buzzing stops or the it just gets on his nerves, and he gets up to stop it himself. Sadly the latter happened today. He got up, and pulled the alarm out of the wall. “Gah…” he stretched a little, getting the stiffness out of his arms and body. “Five O’Clock. Why do you hate me so?” The stretching loosened him up, and it calmed him down. But today wasn’t a rest day. Today he had good news for his student. That was a secret till he saw her skills as of current. On the floor, he started doing his warm up routine. Push-Ups (Regular and elevated), Sit-Ups (regular and declined), Crunches, Squats, Dumb bell Curls, and anything else he could think of. He dressed up in his shorts and his black wife beater, and started to jog in place, grabbing his duffel bag, and jogging that long and annoying jog to the Gym. It was good that it was long, because it kept him in shape… but it was so annoying because as a wolf, he could do that jog in a 1/10 of the time it took him in human form. “A healthy body, a healthy mind.” He got out of his apartment, leg and wrist weights on, and on his way jogging towards his student, his gym, and his finale. Not in the bad way. -Fast Forward A Bit- The last step was usually the most satisfying. The last step into the gym, and he got a shock he didn’t expect. His student, early… earlier than him. ”Well well scrubs! You finally beat me to the gym. I’m impressed.” He bowed down to his student. ”This doesn’t mean you are off the hook yet. I’m still kicking your ass. But first, let’s start the work out. Shoulders, Back, Chest, Abs, and Legs. On the count of three, we start. Switch with the music… you still have the playlists on your MP3 player, right?” The work out was simple. Work till the playlist finished, and then go to the next set. For example, You turn on the Shoulder playlist, you work till the playlist finished, and then you move on to Back. Each playlist consisted of 1 minute songs, followed by three beeps followed by a 10 second gap. The three beeps signified to switch to the next work out within the set. Victor spent a lot of time getting her that playlist. She gave him the music, and he had to cut, set up, and get it to the right format. Yeah, Victor is devoted, and Inora… probably the best student he will ever have. He was lucky to know her. (Count: 459)

Vic entered the gym and Inora sprang to her feet. She saluted him, only slightly sarcastically, and laughed at his words. "Well sir, I really didn't expect it to get me off the hook." She smiled slightly and then her face got serious. It was time to settle down and go to work.
Inora pulled her mp3 player out and shook it in Vic's direction. "Yes sir, tuned up and ready to go." She'd been so surprised when he'd given her the playlists, knowing it had to have taken a long time for him to do it all. She'd treasured the gift, seeing as no one had ever really spent so much time doing something to help her. Heck, Inora had nearly cried when he'd given it to her, before she'd bucked up and realized that she was trying to be all Karate Kid and crying just would not help.
Inora put the headphones into her ears and started up the music, going through the workouts exactly as she'd been taught, striving for perfection in everything she did. She's managed to perfect her workouts, but the actual fighting was still coming along. She'd gotten much better, she could definitely admit that to herself, but she was still a far cry from being as completely awesome as Vic was. But that was okay with her, it had never been her intention to surpass her teacher. She'd just wanted to learn, and then she'd just wanted to make Vic proud. Some small part of her was ecstatic every day when she realized that she'd done both.

”Alright. And We’re done… with the work out that is. Time for the real test of skill and endurance. No holding back, no mercy, a no giving up. I want fighting till the end. Anything goes. Street code. Show me your Judo and Street skill. Show me I didn’t waste my time. And show me you are more than a scrub. Now, show me that you are more than you were when a long time ago.”
He threw the first punch. Something he told her never to do. Never strike the first blow unless it means life and death of you, a loved one, or an innocent life. That first blow can mean the life of them if needed, but it could mean death if it isn’t needed. Provocation of an opponent is something no one wants to do. That’s why the second thing after never striking is keep cool under any and all circumstance. Lose your cool, you lose the fight on the spot. Your ability to think clearly on your toes depends on the ability to stay calm. He knew that a basic punch would be judo countered by grabbing the arm and using the momentum to judo throw the opponent on the floor. It was a reflexive move for any judo student. The only difference between any other Judo student and Inora was that she has street fighting under her belt, so she could do one of many things. Punch his face while he was down, curb stomp, kick in the side, soccer kick the face, or just downright get on top of him and beat the shit out of him in a flash. Fortunately for Victor, he taught her, so he knows how she fights. Her strengths and weaknesses. He knows he can’t be untouchable in this fight, but he will damn sure not lose this one.

Inora stopped her workout, having built up a nice sweat and feeling more than ready for the days lesson. His words pumped her up even more, she was so ready to show him what she had learned, to prove herself in his eyes. She wasn't 100% on the fact that she could prove herself but she was 100 percent sure that she was going to throw everything she had at him, nothing held back. He was the enemy now, not her teacher.
This was evidenced by the fact that his fist shot out towards her face. Inora's body filled with adrenaline and her muscles moved of their own accord, sending her arms out to grasp his wrist. She turned, planted her shoulder in the prime position and used his momentum and her own center of balance to flip him over in a perfectly executed Judo throw.
Before Vic had even fully hit the floor, Inora had straddled him, bending her knees so that her legs fell across his in an effort to lock them to the floor. Her fists shot out, one staying in while the other punched. Twisting her wrists last second to give it the slicing effect, hitting only with the first two knuckles. She protected her face as best she could and couldn't help bracing herself for what would surely come from him soon.

Sitting on top of him, she threw on the floor, and she got on top of him. Just like he figured would happen. The throw and the positioning of her shoulder were flawless. And the execution… even better. His best student ever just kept surprising hi. He got him well, but he knew there would be an opening. She wouldn’t try to get him with one hundred percent of her effort. On any other stranger or opponent, one hundred percent would be there, but with him, it wouldn’t, and he would use that to his advantage. Grabbing her arms, he used his entire body to shift both his and her weight to the right, forcing them to roll, so he got on top. ”Where is the effort?! He went for a face punch. What have I said about not holding back?! He went for another face punch. FIGHT ME INORA! A third time, he went for a face punch. FIGHT ME! Another face punch.” He told her a hundred times that if she doesn’t give it her all, she could end up in either a hospital bed or a casket. He knows that she won’t her, but she has to learn whether it was him or someone else, an enemy is an enemy. The enemy has one goal… kill you. He continued to punch her, but he knew she would see through most of them, and avoid the hits… but both of them know the other well, so this fight will be evenly matched… well almost. Victor has more experience and a better picture because he is the teacher watching the student. He watched her for the weaknesses and flaws. She watched him for form and style. An edge he has over her. Today it was their day, and today he would make her go beyond the limits she was use to being. He was going to show her that even she needed to go past her nature to do what she wants… and that is to defend the ones she love. To do so, she will have to get violent, dirty, and even force her to things she may not want to do. But that will only go that far if she doesn’t take care of the fight from the beginning and fast. He told her, never start, but never run. If you get into a fight, make it short and quick. The longer it takes, the more strain there will be on the situation and even on her. She maybe a werewolf and a student of his, but even they have their limits. Take care of it fast and quick, and you won’t need to get dirty and stressed.

A small, uncharacteristic curse could be heard by Inora inside her head as she was rolled over and found herself pinned by Victor. She knew his pattern, like the back of her hand after so long watching him, but that didn't make it any easier for her to avoid the punches he was throwing at her. Neither did the angry words he was yelling either. She knew he hated it when she held back, knew that they could both end up hurt or worse if she did it. But that had never helped her to stop herself from holding back. In her heart of hearts, Inora didn't really want to hurt anyone, especially not someone as close to her as Victor had become.
"FIGHT ME!" His last scream motivated her to do just that, her mind snapped into place, her objective became clear. Use your lessons, fight your opponent, win if at all possible and if that wasn't possible, then lose with most of your dignity still intact. Inora's werewolf mind honed in on the exact moment when his punches would leave an opening big enough for her to execute her plan, when that moment came, she seized it.
Her arms shot out and grabbed his wrists, putting his hands on the outside of her arms so she could use them to protect herself, after getting a firm grip she yanked him forward into a very hard, full force, headbutt. She rolled over on top of him once again and punched him, once, twice, thrice as hard as she could not holding anything back anymore.
But as she stopped and looked down at him she saw his eyes going a little hazy and quickly got off of him. She fell back only slightly, falling into the stance he'd taught her near the beginning of these long lessons. Her eyes showed her worry, because he was still looking pretty dazed, and despite her efforts not to she found herself relaxing her stance slightly in her horror at potentially hurting her teacher.

A shock as she grabbed him and pulled him down, and head butted him. It was something he didn’t encounter with Inora, but this is what he wanted. The effort and the ability to even surprise him. He would defiantly praise her for that after the fight.
The head butt was hard, but it wasn’t enough to stop him… but why should she know that? Why not make her think she has the upper hand. She was close by. A mistake, but for a student to worry about her master, that he wouldn’t dock points for… But he would warn her about it. He acted dazed… off balance… and completely disoriented… unable to get off the floor. It was all he needed. To get her a little bit closer. He grabbed his head from where she head butted him and rolled on his stomach. Control over his body was something he praised. Control over his heart rate, blood pressure, his eyes and iris… anything he needed to get an advantage… he learned. “AH! God damn it! That hurt! GAH!” At the moment she moved in a little bit closer, he sprung himself off the floor and forced one of his feet around her neck, and the other he used to kick her repeatedly in the stomach. Once, twice, thrice, and more. One more shove, his foot was off her neck and double kicked her in the stomach. It was a little too much, but the real world would never stop kicking you down if you never learned to fight back. He stood his stance, and distanced himself from Inora. ”Be careful. Opponents will do anything to get the upper hand. Never ever drop your guard. Now let’s try this again, shall we?” It was stupid to push his student this far, but he wanted to make sure she was ready. He had faith in her that she would pull through this and exceed all his expectations. After all, she was his student. His best student.

Seeing him on the floor, so obviously in pain, she nearly started crying. She moved forward and reached out to help him. "I'm so sorr..achhh" His foot connected with her neck, and she couldn't even double over in pain as he consecutively kicked her. She had no defense, no preparation. She was completely unprotected from his blows, and the fact that they were at her stomach, where her scar still burned from her father's late night visit so long ago. They nearly killed her with pain. Tears did fill her eyes as she fell away from him once he took his foot off her.
There was a loud smack as her knees hit the floor and a part of her hated him for the pain running through her. But the other part hated herself for the fact that she'd let her guard down. She should have known better, and she would from now on. She took a few deep breaths, taking perhaps a bit more time than she actually needed before she lumbered slowly to her feet.
Inora threw back her head, wiping stray hairs out of her face. "Yes...of course, never again." She shook her hands, clutched her stomach as one more fierce streak of pain ran through her, and then without warning rushed at Victor, her fists clenched like she planned to punch him. Her fist even pulled back at the perfect time for her to punch him, if that had indeed been her plan.
However, at the last second, Inora dropped to the ground, her momentum sending her through his legs. She was on her feet in an instant and she leaped onto his back, wrapping her arm around his neck and using the other to put him in what he'd told her was an inescapable choke hold. She winced as the motions sent pain through her whole body again but ignored it and instead tightened her hold.

She got up and she was grabbing her side. ’Her Scar!’ He was about to go to her, but then stopped. ’That’s Life! Don’t make the mistake you warned her about. Just keep fighting. You can worry about her later! No. FOCUS!’ He calmed himself down, focusing on his body, trying to get his heart and mind focused. Before he could finish the calming process, he heard running footsteps, and he wasn’t fully ready, but he saw the swing… so he anticipated a punch… and… ”WHOA!” He was on the floor, and he was being choked. How? When? What happened? He looked back at his memory. She got up… she ran… she punche… no… she didn’t. She slid! A split second decision… she slid, tripped him, taking out his legs… using the confusion to get the advantage of the situation… That split second made the difference between his victory and hers, and she caught on well. Holding him with the choke hold was even better. She made him proud, and he would tell her. He was happy his student was learning to alter her body to confuse, and disable. It was beautiful, fluid, and magnificent. Truly a work of art. ’Thank you Inora for making your teacher proud. He told her it was inescapable… but what he didn’t tell her is that it was the hold he invented… and he knew how to get out of it especially if she was the one holding him. He got on his feet, and then fell backwards. The weight of his body on the already damaged stomach and scar would force her to let go and probably force the wind out of her lungs, making her a little dizzy. He was impressed, but that wouldn’t save her. He got on his knees and put her in an arm-bar lock.

Panic raced through her as she felt Vic get to his feet. She could see where this was going but before she could take action against his plan, he fell backwards and her back hit the floor with a bone-rattling thump. The impact alone wouldn't have been able to break her grip but when his body crashed onto her stomach, the already aching scar reopened and she let go of him.
Her vision went hazy from the combination of air loss and extreme pain. And the next thing she was aware of was Vic putting her in an arm-bar lock. She couldn't think of what to next, and then she saw his ankle, which was well within her reach. It lit her internal light bulb and she reached out, her nail digging into the pressure point he'd shown her.
His leg twitched away from her and she maneuvered herself into a position to trap him in an ankle lock, or at least attempt to trap him.

He felt the pain as she dug her nail into this ankle and hitting a nerve. It wasn't to painful, but the shock from the nerve caused his leg to twitch, which gave her the perfect chance to but him in an ankle lock. The problem was her scar. It was open. It slowed her down when she needed to be on her game, and it probably didn't help that she was in enough pain as it is.
He sighed, knowing that he should stop, but if he did, then it wouldn't be like him. It was tearing him right now, to see his student bleed and be in pain, but that has never stopped him before. 'It's because it's her last training day. You don't want her to suffer on her last day. But then again, you don't want to be a hypocrite and ease up on her. It's never been your style.'
He had to face facts, he couldn't ease up on her, so he decided to end this battle right now... It was too soon, but he had to do it. While she attempted to put him in an ankle lock, he got up as fast as he could, and put her in a sleeper hold. If she didn't tap out soon, she would be sleeping on the mat. There were three things that could happen. One, she taps out. Two, she passes out. Three... she breaks free and fights back.
He was hoping it wouldn't go towards number three, but if anyone could break free from Victor, it was Inora. At this point, the scar was his ace in the hole right now. It was slowing her down, and putting weight on her. If she had any chance of getting out of this, it would be for her to find a way to fight with out being awake.
"Tap Out Inora. Tap Out." He knew she could hear the plead in his voice, but there was also the order for her saftey in there. It was up to her to listen or not.

Tap out. No. There were many times in life when Inora had quit when things got tough. There were many times when she had let fear and pain hold her back from doing what she needed to do for others and for herself.
But no more.
She had come to Vic to learn how to be strong, to learn how to face this sort of pain without fear. She would not let her scar reopening be the cause of her losing this fight. Or any other fight. Pain was inevitable but she would not allow it to rule her anymore.
Inora drew her strength from the center of her soul and used it to slam her foot onto his toes. Her elbow slammed into his gut, pushing him from her slightly and causing his hold to break. She scanned him quickly, trying to think what to do and then struck with precision.
Her fingers hit a paralyzing nerve, directly under his sternum. She had only seconds to make use of the paralysis but she made sure that she put those seconds to good use. She grabbed his neck and placed her palm flat on his chest and thrust her hand upwards in a move that would take the air from his very lungs, or was meant to.
"I'm sorry teacher, but I will not be a victim anymore. I refuse to give up when there is still fight left in me. Tapping out...quitting is not an option. Not for me. Not anymore. I will not seek out trouble but I will also not run from it. Pain is nothing, I have no trouble dealing with this scar. I still remember the pain when it was first made and this does not even come close to comparing. Now stop trying to be nice to me."
She smiled and brought back his words from earlier.
"Fight me Vic!"

Despite his body aching for air and needing the refuel, he could feel the corners of his lips tugged to create a smile. "Fight me Vic!" He felt his body recover, and when he had the chance, he tripped Inora with a sweeping kick to the Achilles Tendon, putting him in a stance where his arms are in between his bent legs… sort of like a frog. When he heard the thud of her body on the floor, he jumps into the air, pulling a twist so that when he landed he would face her, but instead of landing on his feet, he stuck his leg out, and when he was falling, his heel would land on her chest. He knew it was harsh, but she asked for it, and he knew it wasn't like him to hold back. 'Sorry Inora.'
