Nicka looked behind her shoulder at Kerin for a moment, looking at her face, and the looking past the girl and down the hal the the other side. There was only two apartments on the top floor of one of the most expensive apartment complex in New Orleans, and she owned it. Secretly though... Nicka didn't draw attention to herself and put the deed under a fake name. She fumbled with her keys a little bit, and then finally unlocked the door she had stopped at. Nicka pushed open the heavy door and went inside, taking off her coat and her hat and hanging them on the coat rack. She looked around the room, and looked at Kerin. "Welcome to my home, Kerin." she said and smiled slightley. She walked into the kitchen that was not to far from the front door, and connected to the large living room. It was a small kitchen with a bar. The kitchen over looked the living room. The living room was large, with a couch that could fit atleast 20 people and a plasma screen TV that could be used as a dinner table it was so huge. Nicka pointed down the hall. "There are two bedrooms, the one on the end on the right is mine, the one of the left is the guest room. Bathroom is down there to, you'll find it." she said. "Make yourself at home. If you need clothes I got two whole closets full, so don't be shy about it." she smile again. "Now, excuse me, I'm going to change. These boots are killing me." she made a face as if in pain, and went into her bedroom and quickley changed into some pajamas.

As Kerin followed Nicka she looked around the building. The top floor was large with only two apartments. 'Wow, this place is huge.' She thought to herself. Her apartment was on the second floor and was only big enough for her and Bruno. Her mouth dropped open as she walked in after Nicka and she let out a little sigh of amazement. "Wow, this place is huge!" Excitement filled her voice as she put her bag down beside her hiking boots after taking them off. "Welcome to my home, Kerin." Kerin nodded and smiled a wide grin to her as if to thank her. She was awe-struck by the size of the apartment and the awesome set up of it all.
"There are two bedrooms, the one on the end on the right is mine, the one on the left is the guest room. Bathroom is down there to, you'll find it. Make yourself at home. If you need clothes I got two whole closets full, so don't be shy about it." Kerin nodded and then let her mouth part slightly as she spoke. "Thank you Nicka. I've never seen a place like this. My apartment is this small little thing, and look at that Television!" She had never had a huge t.v like the one that Nicka had, so normally she was shocked by it. "Now, excuse me, I'm going to change. These boots are killing me." Kerin nodded at watched her walk down the hall towards her bedroom. She glanced around and then went into the guest room. "I feel horrible for not asking what I am allowed to wear, but she did tell me not to be shy about it." She opened up a drawer and found some pajamas. She grabbed a pair of white shorts with pink flowers on them and a pink tank top and threw it on. She threw her hair in a pony tail and looked around the room. The guest room was better than her entire apartment.
She walked out of the room and headed towards the living room again and sat down on the couch. She straightened her back and did a small chest stretch as she leaned into the couch. Her cheeks were a bright pink with embarrassment. Never had she met some one who had treated her so nicely, even though they had pretty much just met. "Thank you Nicka, I really appreciate this." Kerin called out down the hall. Her voice was filled with excitement and she smiled widely as she turned her head this way and that, studying the entirety of the living room through a quick glance.

Nicka listened around her apartment. Nope, nothing out of ordinary, besides the young female in the living room. She sighed through her nose, and pulled her hair straight back and tying into a tight pony-tail. She heard Kerin calling her thanks through the halls, and Nicka smiled to herself. This girl felt embarrassed, she could tell. Nicka was used to giving hospitality to other vampires no matter what their nature. Hell, she even lat a vampire stay with her one night after that same vampire had brutally attacked her, draining her of almost all her blood. Nicka went into her bathroom and splashed her face with water, she looked at her reflection and studied her own face for a moment. Her yellow eyes flashed once, and then dimmed back down to their dark golden brown.
Nicka then straightened up and went out of her room and down the hall, she locked eyes with Kerin for a moment before she went into her kitchen to get a bottle of water. She looked up at Erin as she turned form the fridge and smiled at her. "You're very welcome by the way," she said and went into the living room, sitting on an ottoman not to far from where Kerin was sitting. She sat cross legged and sipped at her water. "I bet you're not used to being treated this way huh?" she smiled and took another swig. She swallowed her mouthful, and then continued. "It's in my nature to put up people. I am... well... was, a coven leader." she sighed.
Nicka leaned back to reach for the remote to the TV, and she flipped it onto Animal Planet. She didn't know why, but for some reason, Animal Cops Houston had been her favorite show for about a week now. Now it was Groomer Has It. She changed the channel to something else, and then tossed it to Kerin. "Pick something. I don't care what it is, just please no Soaps." she rolled her eyes. She HATED soaps with a passion. She always thought that if she could eliminate one thing from the world, it would be Soap operas. It was either someone was in a coma, or someone just turned gay, or someone was cheating on someone.

Kerin smiled as she locked eyes with Nicka. When she returned from the kitchen, Kerin watched her sit slightly away from her. You're very welcome by the way, I bet you're not used to being treated this way huh? It's in my nature to put up people. I am... well... was, a coven leader." Kerin shook her head at her question.
"I'm sure if I had been who I am now when I was human, than maybe, just maybe a stranger would have given me a chance. I wasn't the greatest person while I had my humanity." Kerin let out a long sigh as she thought about those days. She was careless, and completely reckless. She had turned her head from everyone who had loved her, but even then they continued to. She was never really close to anyone, especially some one whom she had just met. And Kerin had never had a big, nor a small sibling, so she was continue to feel lovingly to Nicka as a younger sister would. She was beginning to look up to her.
"So why don't you start another coven? I would join for sure. I've always been kindof a renegade in a sense. More so alone though. A coven would be nice." She had never been in a group of people that she felt close too enough to call family. Maybe a coven was her calling, if Nicka didn't want to start it, maybe she could get some tips from her and start one of her own.
Kerin stared blankly at the screen while Nicka flipped through the channels. She didn't really want to watch the t.v, she had wanted to talk, like girls usually did when having a sleep over or something. She laughed as Nicka handed her the remote and told her, "Pick something. I don't care what it is, just please no Soaps." Kerin sighed. She hated soaps just as much as Nicka did, mainly because there was enough drama in her own life that she didn't want to watch it too. "Uh, would you mind if we just talked? I kindof have some questions and I also want to hear more about you. I hope that's ok?" Kerin sat calmly as she waited for Nicka's answer.

She knew what Kerin meant about the human thing. Nicka might have been a cold hearted drunk like her mother was. She would probably be broken into little peices, her mind flushing away over and over again when she got a little peice of sanity. Just like her mother. A fricking drunk ass druggie. Nicka shook her head slowly. "That would deffinatley sick, Kid. I know what you're feeling. I'm glad I went vamp when I did. I might be on the streets again instead of having all the money I do now." she laughed at herself feeling stupid. Nicka didn't know what she wanted when she was human. She wanted to be a mom desprately in her human life, but no... She didn't want to endanger her child like that... Nicka took a drink from her water. bottle and listened to Kerin.
Nicka stopped in mid-sip with her water and set it down after swallowing. She looked at Kerin as the girl had said she would join Nicka's Coven if she had one. Nicka coughed into her hand, but looked up at Kerin and smiled. "Of course, Kerin, I would love that. But, If I'm getting a coven house soon, it'll be in Las Vegas." she said smirking. She had been to Vegas once when she was still human and first turned 21. Of course, those nights were filled with lots of drinking, strip clubs, slot machines, and dance clubs. Hey, c'mon it was her 21st birthday, she had to live it up.
Nicka smiled at Kerin then. "You know, I think I'll learn to trust you." she laughed a little at the end. Nicka had problems with trust, but lately, she's been finding it alot easier to trust people. Once Kerin had said she'd rather talk than watch TV, she shrugged and picked up the remote again and turned it off. "Your choice, kid." she turned her body to Kerin's full attention. "ALl right, lay it on me." she said with her thick Brooklyn accent.

Kerin listened intently into what Nicka was saying. "That would definitely sick, Kid. I know what you're feeling. I'm glad I went vamp when I did. I might be on the streets again instead of having all the money I do now." Though she wouldn't have ended up in the streets she knew she would still be the self-indulged, deluded idiot she once was. She wouldn't have found love, or met so many people willing to befriend her right off the bat. "If you don't mind me asking, but how did you acquire so much? Just over all the years you've been here, or did it just happen this way?" Kerin was genuinely intrigued. She had never met some one with so much on one pay check alone, and she couldn't recall Nicka saying that business was booming either.
Kerin watched as Nicka coughed slightly into her hand and her eyes widened. "Are you alright?" She asked with concern then realized that it had been her fault. "Of course, Kerin, I would love that. But, If I'm getting a coven house soon, it'll be in Las Vegas." Kerin's face lit up. Yes, she lived in New York but could easily transfer. She had never been in a coven, but she was still so young, so fragile. Nicka was wiser, older. Though she only looked old enough to be Kerin's older sister, she was already looking up to her as a leader, even a mother. "That would be so wonderful. I've never been to Las Vegas, so I wouldn't mind the transfer, just as long as I could travel to New York often, which I'm sure won't be a problem."
"You know, I think I'll learn to trust you." Her smile crossed wide against her face as she thought 'I've come to trust you more than you know.' She had never had some one be so nice to her. It was amazing, the people you meet when you really aren't looking. "Your choice, kid. All right, lay it on me." Kerin thought for a moment about the secret she had been keeping, the one that could very well make or break this newly founded friendship, but she needed to confide and she felt no comfort in any one else. "I've fallen in love. It's a forbidden love and I just don't know what to do. Frankly I'm quite confused by the whole situation."
