Well, I haven't smoked in a couple of weeks or so - partly because I wasn't feeling too good either (Had a cold), but! Today I bought some cigarettes and well, the pack is already gone. =X
I didn't smoke them all! Honest! =P
Bloody mates pinched some at lunch, but still, I’m not addicted (or so I think) - but what advice or suggestions could you give to 'not' smoke when socialising?
I mean, in college, we're lectured for hours on end... Or working for ages! When our lunch or break comes, I just want a cigarette! Or if I’m out with friends, I seem to crave one too.
Home-life and such, I just don't feel like smoking.
SO, what advice could you peeps give little old me to 'crank' it on the head? I started smoking since I was 13(ish) and I’m 17 now, I’m still fit as a fiddle, but smoking isn't doing anything for me!
Helppp! =P

Well, I did talk to you about this before. I'm happy to hear your trying to smoke less. It really does murder your insides. I would suggest an after school activity but because you have lots of school work that wouldn't work out well. You could take up a hobby? You know I play piano and when I get frustrated over studying and homework I like to sit down and play for a little while. For you, maybe an electric guitar or the drums? Yeah, I know you don't like looking at sheet music but it really does get easier.
Maybe you could just give all your cigarette's and your lighter or matches or whatever you use to light them to a friend so you don't get tempted. Then you can get addicted on something else. Chew gum or something along those lines.
Also, I'll post soon, I have do finish a math puzzle.

Yeahh, well i'm a class drawer! ~Smiles innocently~ But that just stresses me out all the more - because i'm a perfectionist! Lol!
Personally, its not 'after' college, its just the 'in-between' sort of things, such as lunch-break and little breaks we get. I dunno what to do with that time, apart from smoke! =/
But yeah... Thanks for the advice! <3
Chewing Gum sounds like a good idea... Might try that out, i haven't chewed gum in years. =)

w00t! I'm happy I could help! I'll give you more advice once I think of some later on. I shall post here and IM you.
You have not chewed gum in a while? Gosh, at my high school everyone does it. But let's see, you do it in between then. Err, you could tell your friends that your trying to quit, I'm sure they'd understand. If not, well then they are not very nice people. Maybe they could stop smoking around you? Maybe you could get a girlfriend? Someone who will nag you.

Yeah, thanks for the advice and talk on Msn. =P <3
And like I said, my friends aren’t like that. =\ Its my life and choice, quoted by them and plus, I wouldn’t make them give up on my behalf, but yes, at the end of the day it is my choice…
Lol, a girlfriend, y’know that’s funny – because I did tell myself… “I’m only going to smoke until I get a girlfriend” because I wouldn’t want to stink of ash around her. =\ Let alone smoke around her, so yeah, but hey – Who wants me!?
I only began to smoking after some bad things happened in my life and well, at that time I couldn’t give a monkey’s uncle what I done… So yeah, things happen I guess and what I’m trying to say is, things are all good now more or less, I personally don’t need to smoke anymore!
So yeah – I’d still love to hear other verdicts and suggestions on how to NOT smoke. =P

Well I can tell you lots depending on how drastic you want to go, there's always electroshock therapy... but gum is a better idea. Or try a patch thing. ANd as for in between class times and stuff try jotting down ideas for new threads or old ones, or fix the medival fate site, i can't get on it to finish the plot. Or you can always read, thats something even a perfectionist can do without feeling stressed. ALways here to support you if you need it <3 Allison/Elva/Arya

Awh thanks! Yeahh, those are pretty good ideas. =) I'm not looking to go that far - Electric shock stuff, i'm not totally addicted, its just a bad habit i can't shake off.
I did go out Saturday, i think it was, with loads of mates and i was absoloutely dying for a cigarette!!! I kept moaning about it, my friends were threatening me to not buy any cigarettes... =P So i think that helpped, lmao! Oh and i kept eatting gum, so that helpped... But yeah, i didn't smoke that day and i was really chuff'd with myself when i looked back and saw i didn't smoke any. =)
But talking of cigarettes, i feel like i want one now. =S Lucky i haven't got any. =P

I just wanted to say that smoking is a disgusting habit (no offense). I think that Arya has a really good idea with the whole gum thing. I'm totally addicted to all things sugary, so I chew gum to take my mind off of it, and it really works!! (I reccomend Dentyne Fire or Ice Breakers Liquid Ice Cubes- they're my faves) It also helps you think!!! Good luck!!

It is a Disgusting habit, i couldn't agree anymore with you. =) It’s a pointless, money-wasting scheme that has no benefits for the public, only the Government who rake in the Tax. ~_^ Hence why they made the legal age to smoke here, 16. Terrible.
But yeah, somehow, it is an addiction… I haven’t found it hard to give up ‘out of’ college, I haven’t smoked once outside of college, but once I go back to college and have a knuckle twisting class with loads of work, I get annoyed, irritable and stressed – that I honestly need a cigarette!
So unless I can get rid of that phase of mind, Stress equals cigarette, I won’t be able to give up entirely. =( Kind-off why I’m stuck, chewing gum has helped, a lot! But I still get the cravings when I’m angry/stressed out…
Think it’s just one of those things, where practice makes perfect – I’ve used Cigarettes as a stress buster since the age of 13-ish. Which has been 3yrs or so, seein’ as I’m 17 now.
Thanks for all the advice guys, I’ll keep you’s updated. I have 1 cigarette left (yes I accidentally bought some), but its taken me ages to smoke my way through these!!! Like, 1 a day or something, not even that!

MAy I recomend working out as a stress buster? It'll totally work if you get into a vigerous workout instead of smoking, plus it might help build your lungs back up after 3 years of those death sticks. And you'll look way cooler with pecs and abs then you would with a bud in your mouth, not to mentione that sweat smells better then cigarette smoke anyway Much love!!!! Keep at it!!
