Fiona sat at the bar in the small but crowded scotch bar, Seven Grand. The feel was great: aged scotches piled on top of one another on wooden shelves. The bartenders were all dressed in suit pants, vests and ties, the waitresses all clad in plaid skirts that resembled kilts more so than schoolgirl uniforms. There were a couple pool tables in the middle of the room atop plaid carpeting. The TV's were playing “Ed Wood”.
This was really the ideal place to be on a Saturday night.
Fiona ordered her preferred brand of scotch and handed the bartender a twenty and winked. “Thanks. Keep the change.” she got up from the crowded bar, letting other people have the chance to order. There were so many people around, so much flesh pressed side to side that Fiona could swear she could smell the blood lying just underneath a few inches of skin and clothes from all directions. It was times like this that she felt the more primal urges she had worked to overcome. It was tempting though. So much skin, so much blood.
Fiona shook her head slightly as she walked out onto the patio, inhaling the cool summer air mixed with the cigarette smoke. It all smelled so good, felt so good crawling against her skin. This was nice, better than being in her apartment. Fiona smiled and sipped her drink.

It's been a long day. Hopping on a plane from London, sitting in the damn thing for 11 hours, jetlag, a taxi driver who refuses to show up, losing her luggage. It was not a very hard guess that Junifer hated travelling so far away. But this time, she had to. Visit her family and all that nonsense. They never came over to visit her anyway, but she had to spend all this money she didn't have to see them because of some lousy family reunion. With a look that could kill, she stepped on a bus after finally finding her luggage.
After dropping off her stuff in her hotel, Junifer felt it was time for some alcohol. It's been a hard day today so she deserved to blow off some steam.
Rushing into the nearest bar, she walked straight to the counter and ordered a martini. She smiled at the bartender as he gave her the drink and fought her way back through the crowd. Not feeling like being suffocated inside, she decided to go outside on the patio to breathe and relax. Stepping outside, inhaling the summer breeze, she noticed a woman. She was gorgeous, perfect and made Junifer feel slightly uncomfortable. She still managed to smile. "Good evening," Junifer greeted her in her husky voice. "Enjoying the summer night?" She asked, while taking a sip from her martini...

Fiona looked over as a pretty blonde joined her. The woman was clearly human, Fiona could practically hear her heartbeat with how close they had to stand together in the crowded bar even if it was considerably less crowded out on the patio. Fi looked the woman over again, noting things lightly. She was drinking a martini in a scotch bar and wore more makeup than her pretty face demanded. She also had the balls to talk to a stranger in a place she clearly wasn't familiar in. While Fiona wasn't usually quick to make time with anyone, let alone a stranger she met in a bar (unless it was one of her more “frisky” nights), she thought that the girl before her at least deserved some polite small talk for gathering up the kind of courage she clearly had.
Social courage was a bitch, too.
Fiona smiled slightly and sipped her drink, turning a little to speak more directly to her newfound companion.
“It's alright. I typically prefer the colder nights of LA but I suppose if I wanted cold I'd live somewhere else, right?” Fiona shrugged slightly and gave the girl a sympathetic smile. “You look like you've had a bit of day though...”
