He hadn’t been at the buffet for very long, a matter of seconds perhaps, heck, he hadn’t even reached it properly, and then he suddenly felt his cool cold hand being grasped by something warm, gripped at a little in the process. He almost instinctively wanted to burn up a growl from his throat and grab whatever it was touching him, but held back the urge as his eyes laid upon Mindy who blocked his path, standing ahead of him. He couldn’t help but give a soft look, glancing to his hand she still grasped somewhat, feeling a little weird, never having a female grasp his hand in so long – her warm fingertips and palm on his chilly flesh, brought back so many memories.
He listened to her speak once again, perhaps praying no one would dare over-hear their conversation. His lips parted ever so slightly, wanting to say something, but held his un-needed breath, watching her again as she signalled to the empty entrance, somewhere more quiet perhaps? His eyes closing for a short moment, hoping she wouldn’t dare ask to become a vampire, it was hard to hold the lust when a girl perched her neck openly towards a vampire. It was like a vampire’s senses were overcome with joy, just taking a little bite that soon turned into a ravenous gorge on the neck.
A soft sigh left his lips, not saying anything as he merely strolled over towards the empty hall of the main doors, his hands entwined into one another, almost holding onto one another, so they didn’t touch Mindy… She was remarkably brave and still persisted to confront William about Vampires; his patience wasn’t the best of things, hundreds of years soon made you impatient. “What makes you trust me, Mindy?” William said quietly, slowly stepping around, his pale body glowing as he passed the candle lights that were lit amongst the various coffee like tables.

Mindy smiled when William agreed to follow her. She knew she was tampering with his patience but she wanted to see how long he could go, something rather dangerous to do but people would be able to hear her blood curdling screams. They were far from the ballroom but not far enough.Mindy studied his expression when she had cought his hand, she couldn't quite put a title to it but he seemed to enjoy the warmth, like he hasn't felt it in a while.
Mindy sat down on a red velvet sofa and patted next to her to motion William to sit. The glow his skin was giving off was somehow intimidating. He would probobly sit on the far side, Mindy would imagine he would try to contain himself so he would take those measures. Who even knew if he would sit at all. Mindy sighed to herself when she heard the question that she thought was obvious.
Mindy ran her hand down the side of her face and shook her head. "William, you still wonder why I trust you? I think you have been a vampire for quite some time now. Like I said, you can kill me now but you aren't. You let me talk about what you are and you haven't stopped me. You say your not thirsty now and I can see you have full control over yourself. That's why I admire you."

His feet continued to lightly patter upon the flooring as he walked around, pacing back and forth somewhat, trying to keep himself busy a little – he wasn’t nervous, he had no need to be, but more worried on the fact of this Mindy asking the ‘Wrong’ questions. His hands slowly slipped out of their grasp, departing to clutch at his trousers waistline, finally ceasing his movement to stand and stare onwards towards her.
He acknowledged her offer to sit, grinning slightly at her remarkable trust once again, wanting him so close perhaps? His ears perked up, listening to her words again, slightly gritting his teeth as she spoke so openly about what ‘he’ was – never in his (undead) life-time, had he even spoken to a human about what he was and those who even found out accidentally, ended up strangled by the grip of his hand.
Sighing lightly, his head shook every so slightly, walking towards her with a stern posture and slender figure, surprisingly taking up her offer to sit beside her. His body elegantly slipped down upon the red velvet sofa, shifting to his side to face her a mere inches away from him, resting his arm across the top of the sofa back, crawling his fingers up behind her neck slowly. His slender long fingers gently curled loose strands of her hair between his grip, almost playing with it whilst he looked onwards upon her. “Yes, I’ve been damned for quite some time, you could say…” he quietly said, avoiding the word ‘Vampire’ in his sentence.
Slowly licking his lips, he continued to speak, trying to keep his piercing eyes upon her “You admire me? Because I haven’t slit your throat? Heh, there is nothing to admire about this… dead… race” he almost spat out the last words, clearly not impressed with the vampire generation, but the small strands of ‘human’ inside him had died off a long time ago, he had no sympathy for his victims anymore – because there was never anyone around to soothe his pain. “Do you believe in heaven?” he quietly entailed, looking upon her with a curious look.

Mindy was surprised when William finally sat after pacing for a time. She was even more surprised that he began tracing his cold fingers up her neck and then started to play with her hair. The touch was not unpleasant, it did send more shivers down her spine but it was more unusual. Mindy didn't want to fight with him when he said he was damned. She did not want to toy with his patience anymore than necessary. Mindy didn't shift at William's attempt to intimidate her? She found the situation she was in a once in a lifetime opportunity. The next vampire she met would maybe try to kill her if he wasn't like William.
"But that's just it. You of course don't admire or like what you do but we humans can. I can. Heaven? I believe in an afterlife but not one that separates souls. Good or bad, what's the difference?"

William continued to coil his slender long fingers through her fine strands of hair upon the back of her neck almost, grinning as he tried to give the impression ‘His only an arm’s length away’ – in an intimidating sense to not go pushing any buttons anytime soon. He didn’t wish to kill her, but he was more then open to answering questions, as long as they would keep her alive and not entertain her to the devil all the more…
A soft sigh left his lips, hearing some strands of sentences that he wasn’t too happy about hearing. She didn’t seem to understand, a poor innocent to this life who had so much curiosity. “And you speak for everyone?” he said with a raised eyebrow, nipping his bottom lip to slowly lean forwards and speak “You humans, would admire a Brick if it fell on you…” it was bit of an insult, but it was true, the mortals these days didn’t have the common sense to stay out of harm’s way – Instead you had loonies who tested their death wish to the extreme and others who admired cereal killers for their ‘art’.
“Oh, there’s a difference” he said slowly after, in reply to her last words. “Now you know about the vampires, the supposedly evil creatures without a soul – didn’t it ever occur to you, that there might be a hell?” he grinned slightly, before shrugging as he gave an shake to his head “I’ve guaranteed my place in hell, blimey, it scares me to even think about going there… This is the closest I’ll come to heaven, living on Earth for eternity... And you bloody admire us!” he said with a slight growl in the back of his throat, before realising his temperamental state and withdrawing himself to sit back, smirking. “Then again, living on Earth, is hell”

Mindy was amused with William's intimidations, "don't waste your time, I know enough of your kind. I also know another vampire, he's very kind," Mindy said icily. She then grabbed William's hand from her hair and proceeded to massage it gingerly, "my turn," she said brightly. Would the body heat be too much for his temper?
"I'm not like the other 'humans' I'm much smarter than that," Mindy held up her other hand as if to stop William from some unheard protesting. "What I mean is they don't know anything about you. When they think of 'vampire' they think scary monster who sucks blood, they are so unfeeling. That may be true for some of them but if your so unfeeling why don't you bite me now?" Mindy paused for a second before replying to William again.
"That may be but in the end what difference does it make? If your not so fond of yourself why choose to be, as you say 'damned' forever? You had a choice to be given the dark gift. Well then again if you didn't accept it you would die but you still had the choice."

Mindy still seemed to astonish William with her up-most bravery and courage, particularly when she caught him off guard and grabbed his hand, causing a slight gasp to leave his lips, staring towards her in a heated fashion as he felt her fingers dig and push against his cold flesh, massaging it almost. He wasn’t sure how to react, she seemed to be playing his game all too well, perhaps picking up his weak points already – feeling her warmth and soothing fingers, weakening him quite fast to merely go quiet before her.
When her remark about ‘Smarter then Others’ left her lips, he was about to make a remark when she somehow sensed his reaction to do so and stopped him in his tracks, she was surely talented? Or was she just a fool for getting involved with William? But her question did raise some old coffins in his mind… Why didn’t he just kill her? Why was he feeling weird by the soft touch of her warm hand? Surely that mortal inside had died a long time ago… That soul… Obviously, it was still alive deep down, the human William who didn’t want to hurt people anymore perhaps? There was so many questions that she just raised, his face twitched to try and faze them out.
He continued to stay quiet, hearing her out fully before his tongue left his lips to speak. “I am… a monster…” he said quiet weakly, snatching his hand out of her grasp to look away slightly, rubbing across his knuckles to try and get himself cold again, not liking the fact he felt warm, he didn’t feel privileged enough to feel warm anymore. He was a brutal killer and didn’t deserve that warmth he craved.
“I didn’t have a choice” he said timidly, glancing towards her slightly at the corner of his eye to chirp a laugh and shrug. “Did we have a choice to be born? No… Do we have a choice for when we die? No – It just happens, when ever, where-ever” A sigh left his lips, seeming a lot more calmer then what he was, probably because Mindy hit a soft nerve and put this vampire in his place, she stood her ground. “But when you’re already dead, you don’t even have the choice of death or life anymore, just, an existence” he hoped she could understand his point of view, instead of confusing her, smirking at her a little, before he looked towards his hands again.

Mindy smiled as her warm touch had the effect she wanted. She waited patiently for William's response, her words definitely stung him. Mindy wanted to know more, what he was thinking. She had a feeling vampires were more than they were cracked up to be. They couldn't be those scary fairy tale creatures. There had to be more and Mindy wouldn't rest until she was finished with William. She had a feeling William wouldn't dare finish her first, she wouldn't let him do it. Mindy looked up suddenly when William spoke, for a second she forgot he was sitting next to her, he was so quiet. Mindy folded her hands in her lap and stared at William as if trying to say if your such a monster why am I still here?
Mindy was satisfied he had eased down a bit, he wasn't going over the edge as quickly as she had imagined, he continued to amaze her even now. True he killed people instead of animals but there was so much more and he wanted it. It was possible that Mindy could ease the pain not physically presented he bottled up. The way he talked to her was like he was trying to make her understand something. Something Mindy didn't believe true but kept her opinion to herself, she could be just as stubborn too. She understood everything he said even though to her it sounded a little awkward.
"How did it happen to you?" she said kindly. "May I?" Mindy asked quietly gesturing to his hands. "You've been so cold. Even though you don’t think it, you deserve it." Of course she didn't mean the state of his skin, but how lonely he's been which could only make him colder. He seemed to forget what humans were capable of doing, the right humans anyway.

He didn’t feel uncomfortable with Mindy, talking to her, knowing that she knew he was a Vampire, but he felt more awkward then anything. He’d never tried to be civilized before, he’d always failed, he’d never had any friends in his vampire rein and most of all, female company. Her touch didn’t seem just like ‘warm flesh’ but more of soothing warmth, something every male could relate too, decipher the difference between a masculine touch and a feminine touch – a woman’s hands.
When he heard her question, a slight smile wrapped his face for a moment, reminiscing the faded memories of that night. He wasn’t sure about answering her question, but surely it would do no harm? He’d never told anyone his story before, how he became to be, what he really was, but the slight nervousness set in when she gestured for his hands – continuing to talk.
His eyes rolled down her face slightly, looking quite submissive for the predator and reputation he’d acquired himself to once be, but now, he didn’t look any stronger then a lonely man who was fearful of females? He wasn’t scared of her, but more to the point, worried he’d hurt her, when he didn’t mean too. Temptation amongst mortals corrupts them, temptation amongst vampires’ lusts them, William had controlled his temptation for so long, that now it broke and he gave in to it. Pushing his hands towards her from off his lap, he couldn’t help but close his eyes for brief moment before talking.
“I… Was in the war” he started with a weak tone, plucking up the strength to straighten his back and try to carry on “A British soldier amongst Wellington’s men, in the South Essex company – Yes, the Napoleonic wars as you’d know them” now he’d revealed a rough estimate of his age, he wondered what her reaction would be to it, taking a quick glance at her features to continue “One night, the French Guard had obliterated our company in a battle, the few of us who had sense made a hasty retreat into the woodlands… Little did we know, it were cursed… No wonder the French didn’t pursue us – Heh, that’s it” he said cutting off the story quite short, looking away to gulp, feeling weary to talk about himself being bitten, forced to drink the blood of a stranger, but he knew Mindy would squeeze it out of him.

Mindy gave him another warm smile when he allowed her his hands. She took them and continued to rub them, occasionally tracing patterns as he talked. She sensed that it must be hard on him for her to be here, that no other woman dared to do what she was doing now. When he stopped in mid sentence Mindy looked up to give him her attention, he probably didn't want to do this but she didn't tell him to stop. He was actually sharing this information with her. Mindy couldn't help but think why her. In the ballroom there were so many young women, how come he didn't choose one of them?
He revealed a little of how old he was but Mindy's expression remained the same. Kind, gentle, understanding. What would she expect anyway? To find a young vampire would be very rare, she wouldn't dare go near one of them anyway. They were much too dangerous. When William plainly uncomfortable, forced the story out Mindy finished it.
"Vampires lurked in the shadows of the woods, one made you ilike them." She had to know one more thing. "Why didn't it kill you? Why did it let you drink it's blood?" Hopefully she wasn't pressing too far. The vampires she heard about hunted and they killed. Why would one hunt and then spare William's life?

His body softly trembled as he felt her fingers softly tracing patterns against his cool chilled flesh, curling his fingers around her warm digits to feel her skin in return, remembering what it felt like to be warm, having a pulse and thick fluid flowing through your body and coursing down your veins, feeling alive – like you had a purpose.
When she undoubtedly ended the story, instead of making him end it, he gave a weak smile, rising his hazel glazed eyes to look upon her, tightening his jaw a little to listen to the rest of her words. “Yes, that’s what happened – and, I spent a few years with this male… My Sire… Thankfully, he didn’t just turn me and leave me. But he did abandon me” he shrugged slightly, wondering why he was telling this Mindy everything, but continued to speak as he softly ran his glistening eyes down her throat. “He said he saw potential… Beauty… Something worth embracing for eternity – But I bloody wish he hadn’t”
William snarled beneath his breath slightly, angry at the fact he had no choice about this existence he’s been forced to live. “Before you even ask, no, he never told me his name and I don’t know where he is today…” his fingers unknowingly began to grip against Mindy’s hands, showing the bottled up anger he had inside for this person who sired him, saved him from death, to become something he’d never understand or have the answers too… What is the purpose of Vampires?

William enjoyed her hands, maybe too much to make this dangerous. She saw the way he looked at her veins. Mindy still believed he wouldn't do anything to her, that it was just the vampire talking so she pretended to let it slide unnoticed. He was taking to her better than she expected, hopefully he wasn't thinking of a way to end mortality for her, she wasn't trying to send that message. She continued to knead his hands until he tightened his grip on hers. Mindy's first thought was to be startled. She should be, he, a vampire had a grip on her. Mindy slowly drew one hand out of his grasp and stroked his cheekbone to calm his tense body down. She hoped it wouldn't be too much for him to handle, he already growled at her. No, at himself.
William had a rough time, the vampire chose him and now Mindy understood. He would rather have died then live forever. Did he hate this life so much? "Then you have lived alone, I can see why you crave a human body. I see the way you look at my skin and veins but I don't believe it's because your tempted to hurt me. You never wanted this life? What if I said to you that I was going to go and find a vampire to change me? Would it be something I would regret?"

He didn’t mean to grip at her hands a little, but it was automatic and he was used to clenching his fists when he got angry, just happened to be that her hands were in the way and he softly grasped them with a firm grip. He stared into space a little distracted, until he felt the warmth of his cheek, a slight shudder running down his spine as he emitted a gasp from his throat to suddenly look at her, pushing his cheek against he hand some, almost feline like for a moment, enjoying the touch.
William didn’t begin to feel alone anymore, for the first time in so long, heck, he didn’t even ponder on the thought of feeding from her – more the opposite. Her soul seemed to soar, radiant off her body like a bright glow, feeling it tingle against his skin by sitting near her even, she truly did have the touch and warmth, any man or creature would adore and crave.
His eyes slightly began to narrow as he listened to her, smiling at her remark about wanting a human body, wanting to feel warm again, but that soon turned into an angry stern glare as she entailed ‘What if I was to go and find a vampire to change me?’ – the words he dreaded she’d say, just slipped from her tongue, praying she’d keep the invitation to herself – that she wouldn’t ask William to bite her neck and drool his blood down her gullet.
“I’ve never asked for anything in my entire time upon this Earth… So No, I didn’t ask for, This” he said spitting out the last word, as if being a vampire wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. His cheek brushed off her hand and his hand within her grasp withdrew suddenly, gritting his teeth secretly to himself, feeling a little annoyed that she’d asked the question… Hoping she wouldn’t ask him to do such a thing. “And, I can only tell you this…” he quietly said, looking to her with his hypnotizing eyes for a moment. “You’re a fool for saying such a thing – You may as-well go and jump a cliff, there is no chance such a vampire would sire you…They’d break that pretty neck of yours before you hit the floor”
He couldn’t help coming across a little blunt and irritated, but he really didn’t want her to become one of the damned. “Its something you’d regret for eternity, does that answer it?” shaking his head, he slowly withdrew from her and sat back against the sofa, staring onwards at the floor, trying to avoid any eye contact with her.

As much as William was enjoying her hands on his skin, Mindy was too. His skin was so peculiar, when Mindy's was warm and soft his was cold and hard. It sort of contributed to what he was, a cold hard vampire, uncaring blood sucker. Mindy however would never think that, other people who didn't understand would. A vampire is just naturally intimidating, when a human saw one but they didn't know what it was they would just know by instinct that he or she was no good and flee. It was something in every human that would tell them not to go close, not to feel or have emotion for the creature, it was their will of life. The thing that wanted to hold onto it, it was their soul. Something immortal. Because Mindy was right now with William, feeling for him did that mean her soul was unneeded? Did that mean she was doomed to the fate of immortality as a vampire? (ooc:yes, lol) Mindy shared her thoughts with William. (ooc: pretend Mindy said all that, re-typing it will just waste space)
He was so against it though, he got angry just thinking about it and just for the fact that she brought it up he said that she'd regret it but every vampire was different. "If I was dying, would you save me?" she breathed. She already knew the answer though, she would be saved from the vampire life if she died like a regular mortal. She thought William was going to be angry so she flinched before the yelling started, if he did.

He couldn’t help but smirk slightly as he felt her hands knead against is cool flesh, wasn’t she a little afraid to be holding a dead man’s hand? Didn’t seem it, instead she gave a curious excited look almost, intrigued by it. Then her thoughts slipped from her moist tongue, he listened quietly and sighed, shaking his head to softly say “What makes you think they’ll turn you? Most likely hood is, they’ll squeeze the life right out of you and drop you in the gutter… Do you want that? – No!” he said slightly annoyed, knowing she’d made up her fate already in her own mind.
“You may be brave to face the undead, but I’d like to see your bravery stick around when they gnaw into that pretty neck of yours…” he said softly, breaking one of his hands out of her grasp to run down her neck, grinning for a short moment, until she spoke again.
Her last question didn’t make him angry, more, thoughtful than anything. Would he do what he’s own sire done to him? Save a dying mortal, with the dark gift? “yes..” he timidly said, surprising himself! She had something worth embracing for eternity, her bravery, looks, pride and charm – she was unique, William wasn’t sure what his own Sire saw in him, in order for him to turn William… But William knew what he saw in Mindy, potential.
