Aiden turned the corner. He kept having to fuck with his belt. He had to leave in a hurry and he didn't have enough time to put on either his belt or his tongue ring. One of his friends had 'scored' and he had to leave immediately. He glanced down, pausing in his tracks for a second and moving to the right of the sidewalk. He slid the belt into the fourth setting and ran the remainder of it through the loops on his jeans. He took the ring out of his pocket and fiddled with it until the cap of it came off. This one was the shitty one, of course. He glanced up to make sure no one was close to him and shoved the ring though his lip. He jumped a little. This ring was the one with the fucked up side on it. Which meant that if he didn't do this then it would surely make his lip look almost deformed. After placing the cap back onto the ring, he stared back down the street. He began looking for a window to stop at. He found a store, what appeared to be a clothing store and stopped in front of it. He looked into it to make sure his hair was free of cowlicks. He got those alot, and when he went out for anything, his hair had to be free of them. If it wasn't it drove him absolutely crazy. He ran his fingers through the back of his hair and turned to the side to look, once again in the window of the store. It was fine, good enough for now at least. He started back down the street. He glanced around, trying to figure out after all what street this was. He neared an intersection and looked up at the street sign. He tried to make out some of the letters as the light changed from red to green. Vista Del Mar St. Good, he knew exactly where he was. He didn't necessarily like the area he was in, but at least he knew where he was. He waited for the sign for him to cross said go and he walked across gradually. He got to the other side and thought for a moment on which street he should take. He wanted to go to a bar, but it was way to early, it was only nearing 11:30. So he decided to just roam the streets like mostly everybody else he knew did. He began walking down this street, not giving a hell what street it was. Suddenly, he heard one of those pay phones ring. He looked around suspecting that it was for someone else. He didn't see anyone rush over to it, so he casually walked over to it and picked it up off of the receiver. Hello? The only thing he heard on the other side of the phone was heavy breathing. All of a sudden he heard it stop. Hello? He asked again. A couple of minutes later he heard the annoying beeping. They hung up. So Aiden did the same. He took the black plastic phone and placed it back onto the receiver. He stepped away from the phone and continued down the street, not caring where he would end up, as long as it was near a bar.

(Mind if I join?)
Ali was starting to question her sanity. She really was. One of her biggest fears was of water. Well..not like drinking water or rain, or anything of that sort. More or less, big bodies of it. Like, a bath tub or a river or lake. Terrified was a gentle word to what she was of water. And right now, she was standing on the edge of a fountain that was in a small park area. The park itself wasnt very big, maybe the size of a football field. But the fountain had caught her interest. It was round in shape, and had a marble texture to it and in the middle was a statue of an angel, also carved from marble. She had been in the park in the first place because she knew it had some good trees to climb. And she could never pass up a chance to climb a tree. As her ripped up jeans proved. They were ripped at the knees, and on the sides and frayed at the bottom. But they were one of her favorite pairs. And most of her jeans were not hole less.
But once she saw the fountain, something had drawn her to it. She had walked over and then hopped up on the lip of the round part of the fountain. There was about a foots worth of space for both of her small feet to fit on. So space was no problem. She was a very small girl anyway. Her height only being 5' 2 and her weight only about 100 pounds. She had been changed into a vampire at 15, and so kept the young looks of a fifteen year old girl. And sometimes she acted childish. Or out of turn. Like now. And sometimes when she did that, it came back to bite her in the butt. And this was one of those times. Ali had placed her hand on the angels wing to look into the pool of water and see her reflection and the glimmer of coins. But her hand slipped and instead of regaining her balance, she fell right in. The water of the fountain reached only her stomach when she was sitting down, but when she fell in, she had landed on her back and therefore her head went under. Which was her worst fear of the water.
With a small shriek of fright she pulled herself up and bolted out of the fountain. She had only been to Hollywood a few dozen times but knew where everything was. And she was racing back to her hotel that she was staying at. She wanted to dry off and change clothes and then hide away for a while. Her mind in a whirl, she didnt realize there was someone on the street she was turning on until it was to late. She tried stopping, but ended up slamming into them anyway. Toppling to the floor, she sputtered slightly and then blinked. "Oh my god! Im so sorry! I wasnt watching where I was going. I didnt get you all wet did I? If I did im sorry. Please forgive me." She ranted on, afraid she had offended this stranger. And of course she was worried she had gotten him wet. Her own black tank top and jeans were. And same with her dark brown hair. The small experience of fright left her brown eyes filled with worry and fear. Ali wasnt really good at hiding her emotions.

Aiden looked up for a brief second, still trying to figure out what the call on the pay phone was about. Let alone who was on the other side. It puzzled him, even though clearly, by the way of the other person's actions, it wasn't any of his business. He shook the thought free from his mind and continued down the street. He glanced around every now and then, just scoping out the place. Like some kind of usher at a club. He stopped and turned to the side to look out over a long stretch of land, covered with tall skyscrapers and record companies. He watched some people pass and some look at him then quickly look away. As if he was going to attack them just because they happened to glance over. He chuckled at the thought of him freaking out on somebody like one of the 'tough guys' on old movies.
All of a sudden he felt somebody slam into the side of him. It didn't feel like a fully grown man or woman, so he just guessed that it was a reckless teenager trying to catch up to their friends. He turned abruptly and watched a young girl fall to the sidewalk. She was soaked from head to toe. He immediately looked up, wondering if she was walking from somewhere else and it had started a downpour of rain. But, there wasn't any sign of clouds nearby. He looked back down and listened as the girl rambled on about how sorry she was. 'She shouldn't be the one to be sorry, I should be.' "Oh, no. No. Don't be sorry, I was clearly not paying attention. He extended both of his arms out to help her stand back up.
He looked down at his white shirt and jeans. He was wet, but it was nothing major. Nothing a good walk, or run, couldn't dry in a matter of minutes. He analyzed her. What could have gotten her this wet? This soaked in water in a matter of, what he guessed, seconds? In the encounter, she did manage to make his ring shift quiet a bit. He tried to make it move back to its original spot with his tongue, but that didn't work. He drew back his hand for a quick second and moved the ring back to where it wasn't causing him immense irritation. He re-extended his arm to help her up. She really was quiet the head turner now wasn't she? He couldn't help but introduce himself. "I'm Aiden, Aiden Livingstone."

Ali was normally a very outgoing girl. Outgoing, but clumsy at times. Most of her friends she had met because she was being clumsy. Like take Landon for instance. She had been stepping out an alley way and ran into him. She ended up sprawled on the floor just the same way now. And Rose, at a bar, turning in her seat and slightly running into her. Inora in New York when she was almost sat on. It seemed like surprises and casual bumping encounters was her way of making friends. And she had no problems with that what so ever. But she couldnt help but think so then this stranger might become a new friend. And new friends made her happy. Her actual age was 22, but her mind still held the innocence of a 15 year old. But there were times when she acted more mature, and past her age. This though, wasnt one of hose times. She had bumped into someone after freaking out about a fountain.
She studied him intently, trying to assure herself that she had done him no harm and that he wasnt to wet. Which by the rumpled look of his shirt and a little gray spots on it, he wasnt to bad. She on the other hand, was. But she gladly took his hand and chuckled despite herself. A light blush crept up her cheeks and made them pink instead of a china doll white. Even if he said he wasnt paying attention it really was her fault. She had run into him. Because she was being a scardy cat. And she could tell that he was confused by how wet she was. Head to toe covered in water, and her clothes clinging to her body. She chewed on her bottom lip and shrugged softly. "I still should have been paying attention." She told him softly, her voice gentle with a slight French lilt to it. But she had learned to shove it aside to sound normal.
When he introduced himself she smiled brightly and wanted to jump. She was happy that he wasnt mad at her. And that he was actually introducing himself to her. Some people she would run into on the street would just snarl at her and tell her to get lost. And no matter how mean a person was, she was always friendly. She figured if you were kind, there would be nothing to be ashamed about. Even if someone is rude to you. It always paid off to be nice. After he introduced himself she stuck her hand out towards Aiden and tilted her head only slightly. "Im Ali. Ali Shadings. Dont believe we have met before." And now that she actually took the chance to take in his scent, she could tell he was a vampire. And she was very thankful, a friendly one.

Aiden studied the girl. She was very persistent. It really wasn't her fault. Yes, she was running, but if he would've been paying attention, she wouldn't have run into him."Really, it's okay, no harm done." His British accent shining through. Anyone he knew, let alone anyone he just met, could obviously tell that he was British. He hated the fact that people could just guess his background. He wanted a more complex one, but both his mother and his father were British, so no real depth into that. When she spoke he heard a slight French lilt to it. He never met someone with a voice like this before. And he thought it was adorable.
He helped her up and smiled warmly. He was a fairly nice person to everyone. Even though most people took advantage of that, almost all of the time. The one and only thing he learned from both of his parents was that if you wanted to be something someday, you would have to be nice. He discovered that when we was just a little tike. She seemed nice too. Better than most of the people that he met around here, let alone anywhere else he went. Most of the people, if they had run into him like she did, would blame every ounce of it onto him. But she, she actually apologized for something that really wasn't even her fault. He glanced back down to his shirt, noticing that most of the specks of water were now fading, even though it was well under fifty degrees outside.
Aiden shook her hand gently as she introduced herself. No, I don't believe we have. It's very nice to meet you. He smiled warmly once again and took a sudden deep breath. He now noticed that she was also a vampire. Thank god she was a nice one. The only other vampires he knew that were nice was Lucy. And she often told him about other vampires that half tear her limb from limb and try to kill her. He began fiddling with both of his rings in his mouth with his tongue. He did that often also. Sort of like a bad habit he had. He shook the thought from his mind and re-focused back on the girl standing in front of him. The question was bothering him more and more, so finally he had to ask it. He didn't want to be rude, but after all. It wasn't everyday that you saw someone out in public drenched from head to toe in water."So. If you don't mind me asking. Why are you so wet?

It was rather refreshing having someone other then herself be kind and gentle. She would always put others before herself and never complain about it. And sometimes people took advantage of that. Since she was so kind, she never minded it to much. She liked helping people and making sure their happiness came first. She had always been that way, even when she had been human. It just showed more now that she was a vampire, trying to redeem herself in a way. Rein in the monster that craved human blood. It had taken a few years, but she finally had herself under control and she was proud of it. Through the seven years of being a vampire she had come to learn that there were many different kinds of vampires. Some that would tear your heart out in a heartbeat, some kind and gentle like her, and some that could pack a hard punch and temper. There were also those who were very outgoing. She had met all of those with her travels.
When he kept telling her it was all right she finally sighed in defeat. "All right fine. How about we are both to blame? Me for running to fast and not paying attention and your lack of attention as well?" She asked him with a small laugh. There was nothing hostile in her voice at all. And she knew that with the way things were going, they would both end up arguing about this whole thing until one or the other gave in. Which wasnt likely. And then she wouldnt get to know this curiously interesting vampire in front of her. He seemed slightly different from the vampires she had met. But then again, everyone she seemed to meet was different. There was Stephan who was the romantic seducer, Rose the outgoing shopaholic with a nasty temper, Sevanni Black who was the meanest of them all, Aubrey Mayor who was just as mean but had some kindness. Lee Roy who had been cute and sweet. There were so many faces to different people. She was wondering what Aiden would teach her.
His voice had a British accent to it and so his background had Britain in it. But other then his name and part of his background and what he was, she knew nothing about him. Having not met him before came as a slight shock. She met a lot of people along her travels and job. She knew a bunch of werewolves as well. It was odd when she hadnt met a vampire or werewolf in London or Paris. But she was always willing to get to know them. New experiences were learning experiences. She nodded her head slightly, taking her hand back and watched him fiddle with his ring with his tongue. It must be a habit for him since he had done that before as well. She had a few habits herself even though she hoped none showed right now. And when he glanced at his white shirt and she noticed it was almost dry she was pleased. She would have offered to buy him a new shirt if not. She had no idea where he was headed, but either way, he probably didnt want to be wet going there.
At his question about how she had gotten so wet she bit her lower lip and cleared her throat, her cheeks turning pink from embarrassment. She didnt know if she should tell him the truth or think of a lie. Although she couldnt think of any lie that could be believable. So, she opted on the truth. "Um...well....I fell into a park fountain." She shuffled her foot slightly like a little child being caught by their parent doing something wrong. Her head was tilted down, her dark brown curls hanging in front of her face, hiding her pink face and embarrassment.

He continued to play with his rings while she was talking. He chuckled at the comment she had made about the run in. "Alright, that sounds fair enough." He might as well agree to this. If he didn't then the entire time from now until she left, they would be arguing about that silly little thing. Yes, he still did think it was his fault. Even if she wasn't running at full speed down the street, he still wasn't paying attention. He did that often, and that was why he got into so many fights with people. Normally, they were talking on their cell phones and they weren't paying attention to whoever or whatever was in front of them. But, this girl, the fault wasn't to blame on her. She hadn't done anything wrong. But she was still taking the blame. She did appear very nice to him. And Aiden was glad that her impression didn't make him think that she was going to rip his hand off, or anything like that.
Aiden jerked his head to the right, attempting to move the bang from his eye without having to move his hand. It didn't work out, so he lifted his hand and placed the bang to the far right side of his face. He replaced his hand back down to his side. He followed the girls gaze down to his, now fading, specked shirt and brushed his hands against it. He knew she still felt a little bit guilty about the whole thing. But he had to admit, if he had done that to someone on accident, he would've felt guilty too. No matter how many times they told him it was okay. He looked back over at the Ali. "Really, it's fine. Don't worry about it." He felt the rind making involuntary shifts. He tried to fix it with his tongue, but yet again. He didn't succeed. He lifted his hands once again and shifted the ring to the position that he wanted. Trying to keep it from moving again.
"A park fountain huh?" She had told him that she fell in. Was she just fooling around with some friends? But, then again, it was well near midnight and who in their right minds would go out this late to play in a fountain? Well, if she did, that wasn't any of his business. Even though he made himself think that it was. Then again, if she was doing that, what made her run? He was egar to ask this question, but he refrained from not doing so. He didn't want her to feel awkward having to tell him something she obviously didn't want to. "Well, it's happened to all of us." He remembered a couple of weeks ago, he was hanging around with some friends. His friend was goofing around and accidentally pushed him into a fountain. He chuckled again at the thought.
He felt like moving off of the subject. Figuring that she wasn't up to conversing of what had happened. He wanted to get to know her more. Maybe become friends, if he was lucky. Normally people in general thought he was a prick. But he was changing and why not start with her? "So, are you from around here?"
