A mass of bodies moved around a solitary, stationary figure. Inora swayed slightly but didn't dance the way she used to, she just couldn't anymore. She'd been gone for so long and now that she'd finally come back, all that she'd found was more sadness, more despair, and pain...so much pain from the run home.
She'd come out tonight hoping to just get away for once in her life, to be somebody different. She'd changed so much since she'd been gone, living on her own had caused her to grow up, to stop being so innocent and naive. But she couldn't decide if that was a good thing or not.
Sure she would probably be a better leader for Blackwell now, but did that matter if Adam was back for good?
Sure she wouldn't get hurt by someone the way she was with Logan, but what did that matter if she was so different she couldn't even find it in her to love herself, let alone expect anyone else to?
Inora felt so small, alone in that crowd, no one to help her understand her new self. No one to tell her that everything was going to be okay and that someday the pain she felt from losing her mother, Logan, and Adam would fade away to nothing.
Everything she loved left her, her bandmates had deserted her when they'd discovered what she was, fled in terror from the monster she'd become. Her whole life had been ruined by the stupid acts of a rabid werewolf she just happened to be in love with.
The crowd pressed in closer and Inora looked around slightly shocked. So many people, and she wasn't enjoying it nearly as much as she used to. Music was pumping and she could feel the muscles in her body quivering with the need to dance, but her mind was saying no.
Her head fell forward in despair. Would she ever be the same again?
She doubted it somehow.
