Melanie had slipped away from her husband for a couple hours while he stayed at the hotel, she was getting used to going out for a little bit without him now though it was still weird. Usually they were together all of the time; inseperable.
Melanie's leather boots clicked against the pavement of Hollywood California, as she loitered around the downtown area city, passing the stores and coming close to a neighborhood. Glancing up she smiled as the slight breeze shook the palm tree leaves and rustled her blonde hair about her shoulders.
It was nice to be able to get out at night in California, the area was beautiful and it was busy, so Melanie didn't look like such a freak out at night. Grinning to herself as she thought of the far away home she once lived in in London, the small town she grew up in all of her life. She'd finally broken free.
Glancing across the way she took a sniff and turned the corner, her pace slightly quickening as she smelled alcohol on the breath of a human who had started following her a block or so back. She sighed silently to herself -- Melanie didn't really want to deal with this right now. She'd end up draining him and stashing the body somewhere.
There was more guilt now than there had been previously -- Melanie had been obviously spoiled by her husband both ways, emotional and physical. She was used to just him now, but if the human tried any funny business she'd snap his neck and drain him. She had to protect herself while she was out. Just then she got the vague scent of a vampire near by, which was odd. The scent was familiar. But who would she know that lived in California or was visiting? Nobody rang a bell right off the top of her head.
The human's pace started to advance as he stumbled along the pavement, Melanie growled slightly to herself keeping her pace normal. "Hey," He called out in a drunken american city slurr. She laughed quietly vaguely recalling the times her friend Eve and her 'played' with the humans.

Hollywood's purpose in the world was to take something and make it huge. Everything in this city was big. There were big stars on the boulevard, huge signs everywhere you went, and everyone in this town was filled with big dreams and hopes for huge futures. Even what the people wore here was big. They had sunglasses that covered their entire face, pearls the size of golf balls, and .... Evelyn leaned over a tad bit to look inside some lady's tote bag ... And purses that could fit left overs from some restaurant, three text books, one book for pleasure reading, a make up bag, two pairs of scissors, god knows how many pens and washable markers, three extra pairs of sunglasses, chap stick, two tampons, and, oh would you look at that ... some ballet shoes.
Things were huge in this city, it was a little ridiculous, but it was one of the reasons that this city was one of Evelyn's favorite cities to visit. America was a fun country to visit anyways, mainly because all of the humans are much more stressed out and have incredibly high blood pressure, and Hollywood was almost like the America of America.
Although it was a Friday night, Evelyn decided to stray away from the busy downtown area, and instead she wandered through a couple of neighborhoods that were close by. Most of the stars lived around here, in some-stupid-name-that-Evelyn-couldn't-remember Hills, which meant they were rich, depressed, and most likely had drugs on them. So, when they died, it wasn't too hard to cover it up and make it look like an overdose or a suicide.
Luckily for Evelyn, it looked like she didn't need to go into some celebrity's house for a dinner, tonight. She glanced up and saw a figure a man who reeked of alcohol (which sucked, but he's just the appetizer, anyways) and who was also following some woman. Evelyn only caught a quick glimpse of long, blonde hair as she turned the corner. Hmm, blonde hair was always hot. Evelyn has ran into quite a lot of blonde cuties in her past. Red hair was much sexier, though, and Evelyn wouldn't haven't a problem stealing away this drunk man from whoever he was following.
Her pumps beat faster against the sidewalk. A familiar, odd smell came across her nose just as she was about to turn the corner. Hmm, there was another vampire ... and Evelyn knew this other vampire. Well, she knew that she KNEW the other vampire, but she couldn't remember where from. It must've been a while since she's bumped into whoever the blonde woman was. Hmm, well, this was interesting. Maybe this vampire was hunting the human and luring him to some secluded place. Well, they passed by tons of alleys and other places that the vampire could've easily killed him. Hmm, what a slow hunter. Evelyn would have to help her pick up the pace.
He couldn't even call out to the blondie properly. His, "Hey!" sounded more like a .. "hheeiiiirrryyy". Evelyn rolled her eyes as she let out a laugh loud enough for even the drunken guy to hear it, which meant that the blonde vampire had to have heard her as well. The guy stopped, and stumbled a bit as she turned around to look at Evelyn. She closed her mouth and smile. "'Ello, love."
Yes, it was stupid to say hello like that, but Americans seem to think that all British people greet others like that, and Evelyn could tell that this boy thought no different. He showed off a very stupid, toothy smile and seemed impressed by her accent. Evelyn had already easily stolen him from his other hunter. She leaned over a bit to glance at the woman he was following.
"-ehhhhhhloowww ...."
She didn't even pay attention to the drunken guy's poor attempt of a British accent. Her eyes went wide in an instant, and for a few moments she thought about actually calling out to the woman. Last time they met, it wasn't a really peaceful experience, but, hey, what can you expect from Evelyn? She opened her mouth and closed it a few a times. Luckily, again, the guy was too drunk to even notice what Evelyn was doing. He leaned in toward her, but Evelyn's eyes were still fixed on the woman, when she called out her name, the guy back up in shock of her loud voice.
"MELS?!?!"

Melanie's head snapped around as she heard the familiar voice, blinking a couple of times to make sure this wasn't a trick. She paused a minute to make sure she wasn't dreaming this, pinching herself she felt the twinge of pain before it almost instantly faded away. Searching through her memories, she remembered and she felt a slight heaviness in her chest. "Eve?" Her eye was still on the drunken human that was now very close to Evelyn. Hell, Melanie couldn't blame the guy. Evelyn was something to look at for sure. Laughing slightly she grinned and slowly walked over.
"Hey there stranger, been a while..." Melanie's voice was quiet, looking Evelyn up and down for signs of change though she knew she wouldn't see any. Apparently Evelyn had forgotten and forgiven the argument they had before Melanie went to rescue her sister; it was just as well.
"I see the dogs after you now, too. By all means." Melanie nudged her face in his direction, not making the mistake of going after Evelyn's prey this time though she knew it would be forgiven after all; he was following Melanie first. "If you will take care of ... that; and we'll catch up if you'd like." Melanie's smile was beaming, her rings placed firmly over her ring finger beauty shining into the night air.
Apparently the two had a knack for meeting up in the strangest places, and it always had to do with food. There was so much to tell her and so much she wanted to know, there was a lot to catch up on for both of them Mel was sure, but she would give it time. Melanie's eyes pierced through Evelyn's but not with a harsh look, simply with a interested look, feeling out her general emotions. She seemed light hearted and surprised.
Melanie nodded slightly to herself, letting the feelings of resentment release from her body as she looked Eve up and down, tempted to knock the human out just to get it over with.
