Jade Alum
Jade walked down the edge of the Nile, the moonlight hitting upon her. Even in Africa, the cold night air rippled around her, though she did not shiver. She should though, in the clothing she was in. She was wearing a ankle-length, tight wrap skirt made of Egyptian cotton. The skirt was a vibrant crimson hue, beading around the edges. Her top was a simple, wide-strapped tank top of an ivory hue. Plain black sandals were on her feet, her flawless skin glowing.
Jade ran her fingers through her hair, brushing it from her face. She looked far in front of her, spotting an oasis in running distance. Even in the skirt, she would run. Jade gathered the skirt around her thighs and began to sprint. It felt great, the feel of the air through her hair, whipping around her as she ran. She smiled, drawing nearer to the oasis. In minutes, she was there, letting the skirt fall back around her legs. The water was clear, the moon reflected in the watery mirror.
Jade bent down on her knees before the water, her skirt bunching at her thighs. She leaned over the water, seeing her own reflection. Jade extended her arm, reaching toward the steady water. Her fingers dipped into the icy element, making riplets in the water. Jade smiled, twirling her finger in the water. The wind picked up her dark hair, the curls tickling her skin. Jade knew she should be somewhere else, feeding perhaps. Maybe later though. Not now. This place was too perfect to leave.
